Family run business - they are very attentive to the customers! Food was delicious, they have classic diner menu and amazing breakfast and vegetarian options.

I went here not thinking much of it when I went in but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, not completely what I expected as they have turkey bacon not pork bacon. The owner was lovely and definitely the reason I would go back. You can see he takes care when he makes his food and has great people skills. The decor is dated but gives you nostalgia if you remember decor like that from when you were younger. I would eat here again for sure

I hadn't been here for about 3 years, but it was once my go-to place because the food and service were exceptional. The food I had today was really bad. It was supposed to be shepherd's pie. I received a reheated prepacked square of mashed potato with a tiny spread of mince underneath and a pile of carrots (I had requested no peas). I added salt and ate quickly due to being hungry, but didn't enjoy it. Very disappointed.

We visited the Golden Chefs Cafe for having breakfast and a coffee after checking its reviews and I can say that they don't lie: really friendly and kind staff, fresh and nice food, and fantastic coffee. We definitely recommend it!

Came in with my wife on Sunday as it was the only open cafe at the time we was hoping they would have some halal options we wasn’t disappointed. The food was good the service was exceptional this will be our new Sunday breakfast spot.

Me and 5 others went to the Golden Chefs Cafe twice last weekend and the food was lovely! The owner/staff are extremely welcoming to all, very professional and put all their effort in to giving you a lovely experience in their clean establishment. My friend also accidentally left her phone in the Golden Chefs Cafe where the owner kept it safe and even put it on charge until it was collected…brilliant! I would highly recommended and definitely come back. 5⭐️

This has now got to be the most miserable cafe in Croydon. My wife and I swore we wouldn’t come in here again 6/7 years ago when they were putting cheap brown sauce into HP bottles. This morning, our 4 year old daughter insistent with breakfast out with Daddy and this god forsaken place was the only one open at 9am. The HP bottles have gone, but it’s a cheap sauce turnout. Bacon is gone, now it’s truly miserable Turkey bacon. My daughter wanted scrambled egg, the guy couldn’t even whisk the eggs, so it was a horrible mash of egg white and yolk solids. Horrible. Sausage quality woeful. The guy who has run the place for so many years tries his best, but is clearly lacking any kind of happiness in there. My God it’s a terrible cafe now. I will never, ever subject myself or anyone I love to this place again, wait an hour and go to the Surrey Street Cafe. It’s also quite expensive Vs Adam’s & Surrey St, which just nails it. Avoid avoid avoid.

I have been there to have breakfast for my first time. It was one of the nice and cleanest places I'v ever visited. The Chef, was a very respectful person and served very well. The food was tasty and freshly cooked,I liked a lot I really enjoyed my breakfast. I had Mushroom, roasted Tomato and Egg with tea.

Extremely friendly Chef. Food was delicious. Had to eat an English breakfast before leaving the UK and I am glad I chose Golden chefs.

I am posting this reluctantly, as I have always had great service in this cafe. However today it proved to be different! I ordered at the counter, and usually I am asked if I want to take my drink with me while I wait for my cooked order. This didn't happen. And when I received my food, it looked as if it had been prepared in a hurry. It wasn't Instagram-ready for sure! Nevertheless, it was pleasant enough. I went to pay, and we had a bill discrepancy of 25p. Now considering I usually dine here at least once a week, and have done for as long as I can remember, I was somewhat taken aback that the manager was arguing with me over such a princely sum. His parting words as he gave me the change was, "Spend it wisely". I am seriously considering boycotting the place due to this experience.

Maravilloso sitio para desayunar. Hemos desayunado 3 días allí durante nuestra estancia en Croydon. Destacar los fantásticos pankakes y paninis. El café también estaba delicioso. El dueño es muy atento y simpático y nos atendió de maravilla. Nos gastamos menos de 10£ en cada desayuno. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

We had a DELICIOUS homemade sticky toffee pudding and two drinks : caramel iced latte and chocolate milkshake. Everything was amazing! The owner was very helpful and friendly. They cleaned the surfaces in the kitchen at least twice in the hour we spent there, after making every order. Really appreciate how much they care about their cafe. Will definitely come back as they have lots of different dishes to try , mainly breakfast, brunches and desserts!

visited this cafe today as we were in the area,the food was spot on and the guy who served us was a very warm and friendly person.we are not in the croydon area very often but when we are this is the place to go.

Went hear with some friends after are Friday walk then eat hear was so pleased to find a cafe near by buses home that I went again on Sunday and the service was so quick but on other days as this is a busy cafe at lunch time you may have to be patient with waiting but still good value for food and good Manager and very clean and there is a good menu selection so enjoy it as many cafes have limited menu so this one's 👍 😃 great.

Ordered some hashbrowns and this is what I got, they are supposed to be golden in colour and crispy. These are quite the opposite! I called and were only offered replacement which we declined. If you can really serve this to your customers! Why would I want another batch!!? The person over the phone was defensive saying he would never serve burnt hashbrowns to his customers. Well there's your proof! Now you want to be calling me! (WITHOUT SEEING!? ARE YOU NOT THE ONE WHO COOKED IT😅) Also you never offered refund, you only offered another bath! Stop pretending on Google 😒 Listen to your customers!

Really good attention, nice food and the manager is really attentive to receive advice about his business. English breakfast is enough for one person and it's nice. The burritos are amazing, tasty and juicy. Good place to eat!

I was not expecting much when I saw the restaurant was empty - definitely a case of looks can be deceiving. Firstly we order lentil soup as a staretr - simple I hear you say.. Nope! This soup was AMAZING! Had a very turkish/Mediterranean rich tone to it, meaty but it wasn't - flavours were on point squeezed a bit of lemon on top and everything was banging. Moving onto the burgers, the gourmet burgers were freshly minced, hand made patties and very well seasoned - none of this ready made plastic burgers you get out of teh packs these days! The burgers were grilled and oozing with dripping from the meat and cheeze - with the salad combo and chips - this was AWESOME! You would think looking at this from outside that this cafe was left back in the 80's with its old school decor. Wish a little bit of money could be used to modernize the furniture - albeit - it was very clean. However what is lacks in decor - it packs a punch in great tasting food. I think this could be a hidden gem?

Very good food and drink, served in generous portions. All food and drink seemingly made fresh to order and all was very tasty and filling. Extremely good value for money with two mains, two hot drinks, and a dessert coming in at a little over £20. Also the most genuine and friendliest bloke takes orders, serves food and clears tables! Nice atmosphere inside; it feels very homely. Would definitely recommend 💯

Great Food at very reasonable prices. Hygienic - neat and clean environment. The food we ordered was freshly made. Host was one of the best services I have encountered in England as very friendly. Thanks for keeping the menu Halal, even the breakfast menu which is hard to find.

Bacon doesn't taste or look like bacon.The amount of the butter on toast is disgusting and you can swim on it!! Quality of the product is very poor! Nothing tastes like it should !! Not recommend to go to this place

My favourite all-day breakfast cafe in Croydon. I regularly visit when popping down to Croydon to visit family or friends. Great selection of set fry-up breakfasts with a choice of teas or coffees, plus a choice of toast! Very friendly staff who know their regular customers & are always welcoming! 😄 Highly recommend. Great location too as right by West Croydon train station & just a short walk away from North End & the main shopping area.

As soon as you go in you are treated with an amazing smell, you are approached by a very nice individual which takes your order and in addition cooks your food. Prices very reasonable and food made quickly, would definitely encourage anyone to visit if you’re in the area. Will definitely go again!

I usually bring my lunch in but this Cafe is my pay day treat to myself. I LOVE the Burritos and the Burgers. Very tasty, very nice portions, and very well made. The owner and staff are some of the nicest, friendliest people you will meet in Croydon and I highly recommend eating here.

Very good service especially if you're in a hurry. I always have the English breakfast. Small family run business. They've been there for decades. Very clean. Tailor made omlettes and sandwiches. Bacon not too salty. Eggs cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Very recommended breakfast! The moment you pass by the restaurant you instantly smell fresh breakfast from there. We ordered the spanish breakfast with beans and it was delicious! They make it fresh and the owner is very nice. The staffs are nice and the service is fast. So next time in london ill definitely go for another breakfast in there 🙂

I work very locally to this cafe and hands down its the best cafe in Croydon. The service is great, but the food is even better! They always have a smile and take time to talk to you, and it doesn't matter if they are just opening or just closing there is always a warm feeling Asoon as you enter the door.

If your after a gormet meal probably chose somewhere else, if you want perfect eggs and bacon come here

Best coffee close to West Croydon station. Well worth the 50 metre walk from the station. A gem overlooked by many. Really friendly service serving range of breakfasts and lunches. I can recommend the sticky toffee pudding on cold winter days.

Staff very rude take plate away whilst still eating don't ask if your finished.. food ok nothing special can get better every where else and over priced 20 fries for £2 as a side order to share but put on one of our plates

I would say "the less said the better" but l reserve that for establishments that l do not like and your establishment does not fall in that category however l will say this: never have l been to a restaurant that does not have the sirloin steak advertised if it were a hotel,, steak house or similar establishment you would be out of business further l do not like to be kept waiting for my soup and then it being delivered without the advertised bread and butter and the maincourse being delivered with one egg when twowas asked for. I eventually left without ordering a dessert as l could not think you were going to louse that up as well.
