Golden Bowl in Newport

In my opinion was the best Chinese in Newport. Something has changed at this takeaway. Now terrible.

Worst Chinese I've ever had...the whole meal tasted bland ..barbecue ribs were in a watery gravy...chowmein and fried rice was bland slop and the curry sauce was like lumpy gravy ..First time using them and will never use again

Chips were burned abd chicken balls Rock hard

Had a bit of confusion when ordering the first dish (house special Thai chilli was actually sweet chilli sauce but we like spicy food). This was rectified immediately with a new dish being cooked for us and made extra spicy and delivered for free. It was delicious and customer service was awesome! Would definitely recommend!

The duck was excellent. Never tried the gaff before but wanted to check out a new place since the usual one I use went downhill. Read some of the reviews and gave it a shot. Absolutely spot on. Will be back My complements to the chef and kitchen crew. They know what they're doing.

Best Chinese in Newport by far, had a few times before lockdown and it was great, then they seemed to stay shut for much longer than other takeaways, tried a few others and none of them compare, never had a bad word to say about the food from golden bowl

Last time I had it was back in March, and since then I am calling every week to check if they are open. Please please open soon as I want the food, I have ordered from other Chinese food Shops but it does not taste the same. Miss it

Ordered 35£ worth of food honestly not really knowing what to expect, turns out all of the meals were delicious & delivered hot! Entirely satisfied, thank you so much for the unexpected freebies they made me very happy!!

Really good food in Newport! Our new favourite Chinese which is definitely much better than the others and we've tried loads!!
