Been ordering from here for years since it was 4 dishes for £10 which was a long time ago. They keep putting the price up each month it’s gone up, it’s now £20 for 4 dishes which wouldn’t be so bad if the quality of food got better, but the food unfortunately is only getting worse the last 3 times I’ve ordered it’s been terrible, I let them off thinking it was just a one off but I won’t be ordering from here again now. All the food was burnt and over cooked seems like they cook in bulk rather than fresh and I got the left overs thrown back in the pan to warm up. Not even edible. Disgusting

The place is not usually crowded. Authentic Chinese food. Soup was not so good. It was too sweet.

Disgusting. The chicken was not chicken. It was slimy and not the usual texture you would expect from real chicken. The beef was the same, slimy and watery. The pork tasted ok but was 90% fat, 10% ‘pork’. The egg fried rice was soaked in oil and tasted refried. Overall - inedible, rancid food. Never again.

Lovely food cant fault it ,but for Gods sake they have no social skills at all ,stone faced even a lad who took my money tonight never said thank you ,he never even spoke .Lighten up and at least talk ffs. At least make the effort .

First visit here, had been told it was not very good. I beg to differ, large portions, cooked from fresh were the king prawns. Very nice taste couldn't fault it. Will go again.

Placed an order for collection. Walked across the road. They are still very Covid conscious here. I had King Prawn Curry and chips. Both portions were large in size and tasted lovely. Surprised it has a poor rating. Will patronise again. See photo.

Ordered Singapore chow mein and it tastes like spag bol. There is definitely spaghetti in this instead of noodles. Will be advising people to stay away x

Order from here regular been using it for years. The food is so tasty and filling! So quick getting it delivered or collecting both just as speedy. It is definitely worth the money! Can 100% recommend 😁

I had the duck, beef and 2 portions of ribs. The beef was so chewy, the curry was so running. The duck was tasteless and fatty. The best part was the ribs, and they wasn't great. Do not recommend to anyone. Can't believe this place has a 4 star rating 🤮🤮

First time customer hoping for a tasty takeaway: if you enjoy overcooked chicken, slimy beef, overcooked ribs, bullet-hard prawns and everything smothered in salt, then you’ll love this place. We ordered several dishes, including rice and everything was awful. We shall not be visiting this place again.

Ordered for the first time tonight..4 dishes for £16. We picked our order up. It was ready on time , hot and correct. This was a Sunday evening about 7pm. We thought it was value for money but also had alot of flavour. We weren't expecting alot but were impressed. We will be returning customers.

Ordered on Sunday.... Delivery was super quick and very hot however the order was completely wrong. We rang up and the person on the phone was very understanding and apologised and re cooked our original order which again came super fast again. Amazing service.

My family and myself order here monthly. We've only had one that was poor but everytime we have ordered in the past and present is has been delicious!

I have a theory about Chinese take-away. I reviewed The Golden Bowl very favourably the first time I ordered a meal delivered. This was some time ago and the food was excellent. It had either just opened of re-launched under new management. My theory is that Chinese takeaways always seem to initially produce high quality dishes using good ingredients and cooked with skill. However, after a few week, having built up a good reputation, things then deteriorate and they produce badly prepared dishes using inferior ingredients cooked by someone who has no ability or skill whatsoever. I think the reality is that they begin by employing a skilled and experienced chef for a couple of weeks and when he moves on to another 'new' establishment in another town probably, he is replaced by a rank amateur at minimum wage. The meal that turned up at my door was cold to begin with and the five dishes were no more that slop. Not fresh at all. The prawn balls were the worst thing. They were huge lumps of deep fried dough with a small prawn embedded inside that was overcooked far beyond the point where it was edible.The doughballs where so tough and chewy I could not eat a whole one. The special fried rice was a soggy mess and the roast pork was as tough as a tractor tire. Avoid this place, It'll be out of business soon enough.

I don't know why this restaurant is no longer taking orders online it was my easiest way to order as I've young children and can not leave children alone. I could easily see which dishes I wanted and have the four dishes deal for £13 rather than trying to make a phone call with kids shouting and interrupting all the way through the call. I hope they go back online or I won't be having any more orders from them. If given this restaurant a terrible rating because there is no online order any more, but the food was always great before

This take away was new to me. Leaflet/menu came through the letter box so we decided to try it. Good move. Food arrived promptly and hot. Dishes were expertly cooked and delicious. Much better than the typical Chinese take away fare. The king prawn sweet and sour was very good. Large succulent and tender prawns in a fine sauce and the chicken in satay sauce was melt in the mouth tender. I'll certainly order from the Golden Bowl again. Let's hope the high standard is maintained as in my experience many Chinese take-aways start off using quality ingredients and subsequently drop their standards once they have built-up a customer base. I'll remain optimistic about this one and give it a high recommendation. Worth trying.
