Tan Wong Kitchen in Chesterfield

Great food as always - our regular chinese even though it's not the closest. I love being able to watch your order being cooked.

This is the worse food I have ever ordered or in fact ever eaten . The food came cold - all food had the most disgusting taste . Called the shop to politely explain my issue and inform them that I have a bag full of waste and the woman was rude - told me is was tough as they have a 5* rating . She then ended the call . DO NOT ORDER - food is vile and customer service is poor

Ordered from here as our usual Chinese was closed and we will definitely be ordering again. Fast delivery and the food was piping hot. Really delicious food and good value for money

The food arrived cold and the portion sizes now are very small. Don't waste your money this takeaway has gone downhill

Had a meal from here while in Chesterfield on business. Tasty duck chow mein with good flavour, plenty of duck and vegetables. Pineapple fritters as a treat to follow 😋. Nicely cooked. Will return if in the area again.

Poor food. Special Rice just ok and Mushroom chow main pretty tasteless poor noodles thin and waterey. Salt and pepper chips were terrible soggy what seemed like microwaved re heated chips with a few onions totally tasteless. Also missing items on order. All in all won't be going back again.

Arrived on time. Disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. The crispy shredded chilli beef was the poorest I have had in a long time. Wouldn’t recommend if you like a good Chinese.

Food was cold chips looked and tasted like they was cooked last week noodles cheap and horrible taste ordered off just eat we got the wrong tan wong we normaly get the food from Derby road which is always hot and fresh never again went in the bin

Delivery driver could not even find the bottom of Chatsworth road. Still never got the food we ordered.

Got a recent Home Delivery via Just Eat. Service was good and the Food was well-packaged with good portions. Food a little on the sweet side , with thick sauces , although that was my fault for the selection of dishes ( Roast Chicken Chinese Style and Sweet and Sour King Prawn ). I would like to see fresher and cleaner tasting dishes with some vegetable content. However , I was encouraged by the contents of the order and I found this to be one of the better tasting Chinese Takeaway Meals that I have had. Food would get a 3.5 on a 5 Point Scale. I will try this Takeaway again.

Still not got order it was ordered at 6.35 should of arrived at 7.40 its now 9pm tried phoning them no answer when they did answer they put phone down this is the 2nd time this has happened gave them the benefit of doubt will never order from these again

I have been a customer of Tanwong Kitchen Newbold for many years now. The food is good value for money, Suzie and her staff are always pleased to help, I always request my food choice without mono sodium glutamate, MSG, taste powder and as far as is possible because some dishes will have been part prepared in advance, I have not been compromised. And being a certain person with my choices, they are happy to cater for my needs. Janine Mannion-Jones

Awesome s&s crispy shredded chicken

Late arrival , small portions and horrible food. We ordered four dishes and only one was ok and that was rice which was small. There was a hair in one of the chicken balls.

I have used Tan Wing Kitchen for years and I've only every had brilliant food. The owners are lovely, always ask how we are, love watching the meal being cooked, therefore you know its freshly made. Take no notice of any negative reviews, this is the only place I will buy a Chinese from.

Half portions at higher prices,food lukewarm, spent £35and got charged £2 50 for delivery, chicken all batter and hardly any chicken,

Arrived cold and tasteless. Ordered 2 meals and 2 portions of salt and pepper chips, was very overpriced at £20 as quoted on the phone and recieved a receipt of £18. Will not be using again! 👎

Awful food. Everything was just absolutely horrible. The special chow mein had a funny taste to it, the peking spare ribs were clearly frozen and quite obviously very quickly re heated. That also goes for the salt and pepper chips that we had; they had a few pieces of chopped onions chucked in with them to. Sweet and sour chicken hong Kong style was ever so slightly, and I mean ever so slightly more edible. The saving grace was the FREE prawn crackers with the meal.

Ordered here, only customers in. Got the food home order was wrong. Ribs in one of the dishes when chicken was ordered. Terrible. Won’t return

Never had a bad meal here, although the food can be a little bland (this may be my choices as I have to say I am not adventurous with Chinese food). But the people are friendly and the prices are pretty good and it gets a 5 on its hygiene certificate.

Nice food but portion size versus price not good

Can't make batter it resembles a crumble some of it has no chicken inside and the batter looks old and is tasteless and chewy. Chips were frozen but tasted awful from the fat they was fried in. Sauces were weak and tasteless

Just ordered a large portion of BBQ spare ribs at £5.50 from here and got 4 of the smallest ribs you have ever seen in your life. After ringing up to complain I don't even get a apology. This place is a disgrace, and we will never use them again.

We ordered on Just Eat. The food came 15 minutes early which was perfect for us. The food was really tasty and delicious. Very good portion sizes. All in all a very good experience and would definitely order again.

Where to start , the food was so disgusting . Arrived lukewarm, salt and pepper chicken was very salty and tough as old shoe leather , inedible. The sweet and sour sauce tasted of rancid oil sweet and sour pork consisted of weird grey minced meat inside a huge lump of tough batter . Will never order from them again, would sooner eat next doors cat food.

We often use the Tan Wong, there is a large menu and suits us, the food is tasty and fresh. Their delivery service is good, although I do think it's a bit pricey now.

Can be really pricey compared to a normal Chinese food is great I can’t complain, it’s just if you order same from Tan Wong in Newbold to Tan Wong on Derby road you notice a different in price straight away and in quality of food

Im not sure what's happening in tan wong recently.ive just spent £44 on food for my sons 16th and find myself disapointed .ive used tan wong since being a child and always classed it as my fav place to order however tonights meal was shocking ,the salt content was out of control.egg fried/Singapore rice tasted like a salt pot .the chowmeins had no flavour just bland .can we please get back to being as good as you used to be asvof now i voikd drink s well dry

Go to this place every time always have done since I was little and I always will. Highly recommend it to anybody! Because I'm a regular there I used to draw them pictures when I was younger so now they give me free poppadoms.☺😊😁

Nice tasting sauces but hardly any meat in the meals. We counted 3 small bits of chicken in 1 dish and the beef in the curry was really tough. Not even a mouthful of meat in a whole portion of spare ribs. It was all fat and grissle. Wasted 35 quid

I strongly advise fool never to order from these. Total waste of money , the food was cold ,tasteless and extremely poor quality. Seriously it'll ruin your night . You'll be sat there all disappointed .

Meal late @ 50 mins wait. Nice crispy duck but main course bland.

Whilst I may be biased as I regularly use Tan Wong for Chinese food it has always been great value for money and excellent tasty food. All of us have a preference and this one is definitely mine.

Ordered chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, curry sauce, fried rice and prawn crackers. Really looked forward to my meal but unfortunately not up to expectations. The meal was delivered luke warm, we are 5 minutes away by car. Chow mein used stir fry noodles, lemon chicken batter very soggy and prawn crackers seemed stale, plus fried rice very salty. We had pre ordered through just eat before opening time, so I expected fresh hot food. Disappointed.

Tonight we ordered some spare ribs and rice. we was going to eat them but my friends released it smelt funny and looks funny and taste like rotten meat.

Dont like to give bad reviews but if you don't how can they change and inprove. Had sweet and sour chicken balls plain chow main, special chow main egg fried rice and chips. Is was all cold when it came and was very plain and tasteless. Sorry we won't be ordering again

Always great and hot when arrived always have delivered don't have to wait to long just nice on a Saturday night ring up get kids to bed and for it to be here

never again!!! £40 down the drain... food absolutley disgusting everything VERY salty, pancake roll & s&s chicken dripping with grease. use to be our fav chinese take away.... not anymore... should have known better than to order somewhere other than Dynasty

I've had meals from here for about 4 years and it's had consistent, great tasting food the whole time. By far the greatest Chinese food I've ever tasted

We popped in for some food. The lady who served us was very friendly, helpful, and was great with our young son. made to feel very welcome, and will no doubt return. Food was also very good, highly recommended.

He estado utilizando Bronceado Wong cocina desde que abrió sus puertas hace 20 años. La comida es siempre bueno. La cocina abierta está impecablemente limpio y el personal es siempre encantador. El servicio de entrega es muy rápido y yo nunca esperamos más de 25 minutos, en las noches más concurridas. Tienen la mejor de pollo pollo Chow mein y guindilla picante/carne alrededor.

Me encanta la Bronceado Wong cocina, es un establecimiento limpio y agradable con una cocina abierta, así que puedes ver el chef los platos, el propietario Sue es siempre amable y sonriente. La carne crujientes de Chile es el mejor en Chesterfield. Muy recomendable.
