Bit late with delivery, but it was hot and delicious. Well worth it. Not listed on just eat, recommended by staff at the hotel. Will be using again next time we're here.

Worst meal ever chips dry and hard sweet and sour sauce tasted and looked weird 🤮 don't get me started on the special fried rice and chow mein rice was bland and mushy tbh only the curry sauce was nice beyond disappointed 😡 saved number as do not order here. ps they don't offer refunds or exchange of they make a mistake and was quite rude and implied I was lying. Don't say you was warned

I've never tasted such revolting food it was all very bland and the chips were dry the spring rolls were very greasy and tasted odd and old

Foods ok, was expecting better considering the price. This takeaway has been here for years, and it still doesn't accept card or contact-less.

Hate the service at this place. I have to use it a couple of times a year, as one of my family members likes the food. Service on the phone is dreadful. Always some young girl completely disinterested in taking your order. Then, when it gets delivered, you find out they’ve got your order wrong. This has happened several times. I hope to god the place gets shut down, then I won’t have to deal with it again.

Used to be a regular customer here but after todays service from the delivery driver I wont be using them again phone up to make a compliant about it as we never have a problem an they were not interested in the slightest but they were happy to take my money food is amazing just the service we received wasn't up to standard for the delivery service will try else where from now on

I have ordered from this Chinese previously and never had any issues. I went to the Chinese last night and the food I received was horrendous to say the least. The food looked and smelled uneatable. I had special curry which came with uncooked meat that looked as if it had been there for ages. I ordered chicken balls which were definitely re-fried and the meat inside was slimy. The chips were re-fired and hard. Also the rice they came was clumpy, hard and had been there sat for a while too. I will no longer be going to this Chinese and wouldn't suggest anyone else does either.

Asked for a mild curry got a plate of water as that's how they make it milder apparently, I said if you don't do a mild curry just say that do not add a cup of water, no refund just sorry we will make a note, used to be a great Chinese last few times been terrible I won't order again, sorry sorry

Had a takeout, lots of chicken and onion but absolutely vile. Won't be going there again. All you could taste was ginger and salt.

I would give no stars if I had the choice. Food was delivered late and freezing cold.. Rang the manager who called me a liar by saying that the food was not cold at all..She was so Rude, no apology or compensation. She expected me to wait another hour for it to be reheated and pay full price.... Never will I use them again

I have had 6 meals from the golden bird in november, all first class, and fast delivery. I have tryed others in the area, one I bined the chips ,I would not eat them.

Love this place, I moved away from the area but everyone I go back I have to stop by to have a red curry they are addictive and I've never had a Chinese curry like it. Simply Beautiful.

Service is always good ,polite friendly staff , Cash Only . Clean waiting area ,seating for at least 8 while waiting for take out.

I only have food delivered. The staff are great and cheerful and they always confirm my order. The delivery guys are pleasant and respectful. We have a large dog who barks at them but they never complain about it.

Was actually the first time in a while I enjoyed the Chinese food I had from here. Everything was hot and fresh.

Bland dry food, really over priced too. I always add extra egg and asked for it scrambled into the rice and it's 50/50 if they actually do or not, tonight we had it and the egg was just placed on top of the most bland rice I've ever tasted in my life. The plain chowmein is also just like boiled noodles with onion in, no flavour at all. We've used these on and off over the years but will 100% go else where from now on.

Food is usually decent. The staff are always very friendly. Can get busy at times and therefore have to wait. Nice local takeaway that has been there for many years.

Tryed three times and bad each time. Curry sauce always spicy even when not requested or mentioned in the menu " kids don't like spicy food" chicken balls burned asked for salt and pepper chicken was given extremely thin peices of fried chicken that was dry and hard must of been sitting there for hours. Beef and pork curry's bland strips of meat with literally no taste. It's not exactly cheap either we are talking full price food with no good meal deal set menus very bad quality for price.

Extremely long wait on Xmas Eve! Food not very hot and not as tasty as their usual standard

Delivery order placed at 5.30pm for agreed delayed delivery at 7.30pm. Hadn’t arrived by 8pm so called. After eventually getting through on the phone at 8.15pm I was told the order still hasn’t been started and probably it would be another 45m, but no guarantees. Cancelled and went elsewhere.

Take away was ok a bit basic really found a bit on the expensive side a can of pop £1.20

Staying in Birmingham for a couple of night, hotel staff suggested this place. Reviews weren't great, but decided to make our own decision. Delivery was early, bonus points for that. Food was delicious, hot and tasty. Portions were bigger than expected, feel bad wasting some of it, had nothing to do with the food, just too much of it.

The food is spot on every time, tried most of the chinese takeouts around the area and this one is the best by far

My partner went here tonight and against my wishes brought me vegetable spring rolls he was asked small or large he chose large i have just bitten into it full of meat to say im bloody angry is an understatement and the managers attitude is appalling its our fault apparently for chosing large because yes they contain meat ...well why the hell offer large veg spring rolls if thats not what they are makes me wonder if they adhere to guidelines of ingredients for people with allergies..... only gave 1 star because it wont let me proceed with '0'

Delivered wrong order and told when phoning them we would have to wait 15 mìnutes for taxi driver to bring missing items.Wife took curry back and explained what a farce they are and demanded money backThey then tried to Con my wife as they didn't want to pay her back the deliver charge in the first Instance.They need to work on their work ethics and not their profits.Menu in the bin.And so will other people's when I tell them what con artist the manager is.Disgusting attitude

I ve been going to the Golden Bird for many years . The Red curry is amazing it's the only place I know that does it. Now the location is on a bit of uneven ground but on ground floor level.. There is a step so pushchairs and wheelchairs will need help always ppl there to give a hand. The young lady's on the phone always nice & friendly Cost a little bit High but worth it .

My husband and I have been using this takeaway for years. This week I came out of hospital with 2 broken legs and in a wheelchair. I decided my husband had enough to do caring for me without cooking a meal. I called up soon after opening to order the 2 meals for delivery. I used both collection and delivery in the past the food is very good and I am only 2 minutes drive away. Their cash only policy is ridiculous in light of recent years and their delivery charge high. I had £20 cash on me, I rang she recognised the address and and I ordered. The cost came to just over my £20 with the delivery charge and after explaining the situation I had to remove part of the order. 2 broken legs and a wheelchair I could not be left alone and could not go out in the rain. So no I do not recommend and yes I would definitely avoid I certainly will in future

The first time I've used the golden bird, only because I drove past last week and the place was packed with people collecting their takeaways, in my personal opinion it's the tastiest around. I ordered special fried rice and was presented with two pot's, one full of chicken, pork beef and prawns in a tasty sauce. I've had many meals from Chinese takeaways in my time but I honestly believe I've never tasted so many different flavours, will definitely be ordering again very very soon.

We called for a Chinese delivery, Sunday evening, they gave a 10minute waiting time and said cash only, Perfect! Over 40minutes later no food and no answer on the phones.

Not the best plus delivery drivers don't want to give change... And food not so good anymore plus price gone up so stupid but food gone to lower standard.... other food places are doing better and cheaper ...but as lol enjoy your meal ..

Fantastic food at a good price, keeps the whole family fed for a couple days easily and always delivers earlier than predicted so we're not waiting around too long. Strongly recommend!

The Golden Bird is a local institution, but sadly it's rather pricey for average food. Over £15 for chicken black bean sauce,fried rice and some ribs... And no free prawn crackers these days. The chicken has that cheap frozen sort of texture and the portions are only average. A lot of people I know love it still, but I think I've outgrown it and am used to better quality food these days.

I've been ordering from Golden Bird for more than 15 years and I can honestly say I'm satisfied with their service. The portions are more than enough, the food is flavoursome and fresh, and the staff are ok too. Sometimes all you need is a meal prepared by someone else when you've had a 13 hour shift at work! I usually order the same thing most times, but I have tried other dishes and have always been happy with the quality of my food. Thanks Golden Bird for your continued service!

I have had the worst customer service experience with this establishment. I ordered sliced fillet steak, mushrooms with onions in oyster sauce which is an expensive dish at £9.30. I ordered for home delivery, It arrived the dish was incorrect I have ordered this dish for years it came with beef, mushrooms, vegetables/baby corn/green peppers/bamboo shoots/onions. I phoned and they asked me to return the dish because the chef swears its correct......I know its wrong as I'm allergic to green peppers. But rather than take my word for it even though I have been a customer for 30+ years unless I'm willing to bring the dish to them to inspect they wouldn't give me a credit or even a refund. I've also had mixed experiences with missing items from my order, I.e crab soup and I got hot and sour soup. So unless your willing to inspect your food before you buy it I wouldn't bother. They have lost my custom and they are the most expensive in the area, shame on you.

My go to Chinese whenever I'm in Birmingham. Very tasty and the portion sizes are good. 4 stars because I find it abit more pricey compared to others, however I would definitely recommend them

Rude staff got my order wrong then when I call got abuse on the phone and told me I got the order wrong don't expect to be spoken like that on the phone by anyone let alone if you are ordering and spending your hard-earned cash as a treat in there restaurant. Pancake roll did not have one prawn in it very poor won't bother again

Best chinese ever! me and my family have been using golden bird for years now no other chinese compares 2this and definatly cannot beat it! Give it a try you will not be dissapointed.

En primer lugar, mi comida llegó coltish y no era realmente lo que pedí. El chow mien de carne mixta ordenado tenía 2 piezas de cerdo graso y el resto era pollo y un huevo frito. Le dije a la chica por teléfono que no le estoy pidiendo un chow mien especial con huevo, pero lo conseguí de todos modos. No había brotes de soja, solo repollo empapado. Nunca volveré a ordenar fue una pérdida horrible de 15. 00 tampoco tiene sentido quejarse, ya que simplemente recibes abusos en el teléfono, ya que una vez que faltaba comida en mi pedido y la persona al otro lado del teléfono fue simplemente grosera. Mi capricho del viernes por la noche estropeado. ?

El personal no conoce mucho el menú o si la comida contiene trigo o no. Necesitan revisar su menú con detalles de alergia y volver a capacitar a su personal. Se fue cuesta abajo en los últimos cinco años. No volveré a ir allí

Los usé durante años, pero me sorprendí cuando mordí mi rollito de primavera para encontrar pollo, llamé por teléfono para alertarlos sobre este problema y se disculparon la próxima semana. un error, pero una vez más tienen pollo dentro de ellos. Como vegetariano de 25 años, entiendo que pueden ocurrir errores, pero no hay reembolso y me dijeron que estaba equivocado y que eran groseros e ignorantes que ni siquiera verificarían.

Have used Golden Bird for years, for myself and my wife and family. Never ever again. I went In there this evening to collect a meal for two that had been ordered by phone. I went to pay with a Scottish £20 note, which quite clearly states Sterling on it, and they would not accept it. I was made to feel like a criminal. I am a 74 year old man and not used to treatment like that. As business people I would have thought they would know that it is perfectly legal tender. I left feeling most embarrassed and without any food. Very strange they do not accept credit cards either. Looking at previous complaints maybe they have done me a favour and saved us a bout of food poisoning.

We ordered a Singapore chow mien, it tasted of barbecue sauce. The prawn crackers where a yellowish colour and in several of them where like eating plastic. Worst Chinese I have ever had.

Don’t recommend this place at all. It’s dirty and grotty on the inside. The front of staff appear to have a massive chip on their shoulders. Rude and obnoxious who treat customers like crap. My partner ordered food as I was poorly in bed. Have the same thing everything because we need gluten free!I woke up a few hours later and my food was missing. I rang and spoke to the manager to explain that I was poorly her reply was well your partner must of eaten it Evan tho I said his gluten free. Me disculpé y si quisiera podría cambiarlo por uno grande, ¡pero tendría que pagar un extra! ! ! ! ! ! , expliqué que ya había pagado las probabilidades pagando un precio diferente al que se me había citado y, tal vez, como un gesto de buena voluntad, tengo el gran 1 como un cambio bastante inflexible que podía, no hacer esto o tenía que preguntar el chef, por su permiso, estaba bastante convencida de que me había equivocado de precio por teléfono y bastante firme de que la culpa estaba en mi pedido también! ! ! ! Excellent, inshop and delivery, plenty of meat, only downside I'd say, is could do with a bit more sauce, but you buy a tub.

Me encanta este lugar utilizado NO PASA. La comida es pobre pollo? ? ? No disfrutar de nuestra última comida desde aquí. Faltaban elementos de nuestra entrega y cuando llamamos no desee enviar los elementos faltantes dijo que podría haber ellos la próxima vez volvimos (bien eso no va a suceder pronto). Al final trajo los elementos faltantes y luego intentaron cobrarnos por ellos cuando ya habíamos pagado.

Just ordered a collection takeaway got it home opened the chips and the smelt rancid so dumped it in the bin and took some chips back for them to smell didn’t want to know surprise surprise the rancid chips disappeared and wouldn’t give us a refund have used this place many times in the past but tonight will be the last all for a £20 order

On the 14th of Feb we was spending time with family so we decided to order Chinese. We order chicken chow main some curry, chips and mushroom chow main for myself as I’m vegetarian. After picking meal from the place we sit down and start to eat and as I’m eating my mushroom chow main I spot some bits, when I separated them I see it’s beaf bits in my mushroom chow main. I was disgusting with this. I call them to let them know about that as for me as a vegetarian it’s not acceptable, they apologise and offer to send a different chow main but I didn’t want any food of them. They was lucky I spot this just at the beginning as if u would eat this and have food poisoning the conversation would be on different level. For me This showing that they don’t clean the pans after other meals they preparing. It’s kind of making u think straight away about the cleanliness of that place and procedures that clearly are not in place with food standard agency. I would never order any Chinese From this place and I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone.

Y yo tenía un años para llevar Becky la víspera de la última noche y estaba muy contento que elegimos Golden Bird. Muchas veces nos han pedido desde allí y la mayoría de las cosas estaban bien y el resto no está a la altura, sin embargo, anoche todo alineado y nos dieron una cena espléndida. Espero que esta excelente comida continúa en 2018 y más allá.

Pedí un churro de banana. Esperábamos que venga en una bandeja con jarabe. En cambio me dieron una bolsa de plátanos bañadas de grasa frita con el almíbar frío en un baggie separada. Incapaz de jarabe en bolsa de papel pour ya pasada y también incapaces de usar como un chapuzón. Jarabe de todos lados, pero donde debe ir. Lo que pasó con bandejas y ollas?

Yo y la mayoría de mi familia utilizan regularmente el Golden Bird, son rápidos, amables y sobre todo la comida siempre es genial! Porciones enormes y siempre sabrosa. Cuando están muy ocupados puede esperar por un rato, pero que demuestra lealtad de los pueblos, ya que todos prefieren esperar aquí que usar los otros dos china local/lugares cantonesa.

After using Golden Bird for years I am gutted to confirm they have new kitchen staff and chefs and the food is now below average. A sad day after many years of beautiful food. I called to confirm this and fed back the drop in food quality they are not bothered.

Siempre nuestro lugar para comida china. Hemos estado usando este Chino durante años ahora, y nunca me ha decepcionado. El personal es siempre cortés y amable. Tanto en la tienda y por teléfono. Las entregas siempre a tiempo y recién cocinado.

Una amplia variedad de auténtica cocina china. Pero si eres un local te encantará la carne con la salsa de curry rojo antiguo. Ellos brindan así, ventaja si no hacer el viaje a pedir en persona.

We have used the golden bird for 30years plus but after the last two meals from there will not be returning.The quality and taste has gone to pot . Need to find a new one now . Very sad as used to be great

Ordered over £45 worth of food, they missed out the spring rolls so I called them back to tell them and they realised they forgot to bag it, I was then told a driver will be sent out within 20 minutes, even then we had eaten our mains and didn't receive our spring rolls, I then called up 1 hour later still hadn't received our spring rolls and said the drivers on his way. Worst service ever! Do not buy from here
