I booked a table with you for Sunday the 2 nd of April and turned up and you were closed?? No one told me you would be closed! You have open Saturday and Sunday on your menu out side! Is that how you run your business?? I ended up in The First Edition! Couldn’t someone have called me , emailed me, made some kind of effort!! When I’m next in Kilmarnock won’t ever be giving you a second chance guys! Sincerely Eileen Clark I had to give you one star unfortunately!

If I could leave this complete FARSE of a place ZERO stars, I would!! It has been a complete joke from beginning to end. After being taken into hospital due to COVID19 knowing I couldn't spend one of the limited Mothers' Days I have left with my elderly mother was very depressing.. So I opted to spend the money on a wee meal for her. I Ordered a 3 course meal to be delivered to my mums home between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on the 27th March 2022.. my mum needs to have her meals at a set time due to the medication she is on. At 5pm no meal!! , my daughter phoned to ask where there meal was and they told her they couldnt find the order.. my daughter phoned me IN THE HOSPITAL to ask for the confirmarmation email. Which I gave her, she was then told there had been a mix up, the meal would be there in a hour.. I then receved a call tell me there had been confusions with the driver who had taken 3 other orders but forgotten to lift the other 2!! So the meal would be 40 mins and he would comp my mum some beer.. I explained she doesnt drink so he suggested a 'fruit shoot' or 'J20' Which personally was an insult but I just went with it as all I wanted was to get my mother her dinner!!! Almost 2hours later I phoned at 6.58pm to see where the food was at which point my mum sent me images of a DRY steak soggy cold chips soggy onion rings, sweaty oatcakes, apple crumble with very little apple AND A BOTTLE OF PERONI!!! ... I phoned once again, this time I got a young girl who apologised and offered to resend the J20.. at this stage im not holding my breath!! She apologised and told me to order hadnt even been put through into the kitchen.. at least if your going to lie, be consistant!!! Never EVER AGAIN.. I have read every review for this place and not once to you give feedback to any megitive comments. Thats no way to run any sory of cusiness. We are now almost 4 months after the absolute disgrace, the evening that tthis all took place my mum received a phone call from "the manager" who said that he would refund the whole meal and she would receive some flowers as an apology.. still no refund & no flowers, however the J20 turned up at 12.10am (the exact time in the door bell cam footage) it was left sitting on the doorstep. Way to go! Utterly disgraceful!

Just not a great time at all. Waited forever for food for it then to be brought out wrong and needed to be remade. Waitresses were lovely but not managed very well - not their fault. The food was nice enough when we got it until we found a lot of hairs through our cheese nachos. Ate what we could, paid and left. Won’t be back for food which is a shame as the pub itself is lovely.

Came across this place by accident and went in to try. Nice restaurant with a bar with a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a 8oz rump steak with chips, Pasta carbonara, kids macaroni with chips and a burger with chips. Food was great can't fault anything, the waiting staff were also pleasant. Would definitely be back 👍

Mother’s Day disaster ! Waited over an hour and a half for food today , the service was shocking . No polite reminder of how much longer we would be waiting, the manager stayed in his office the full time we were waiting , the children were starving by the time the food eventually came out , and my poor mums fish was stone cold and uncooked in the middle ….we had money taken off our bill to compensate but certainly will not be returning any time soon .

3 of us seated at a table for 2, when other tables available Over an hour for food and Fish was cold. Not one to complain my aunt ate what she could of the fish but didn't touch the chips or peas. Asked for the bill and politely said we were disappointed at the time it took and the fact the fish was cold and we were sorry but we wouldn't be returning. The waitress automatically said "I will get the fish taken off your bill". We did not ask for this to happen. We were then made to feel like serial complainers and only there to con them out of paying our bill. Fact is we were prepared to pay our bill with a bit or constructive criticism which the manager obviously couldn't take. Manager didn't show his or her face, just sent the waitresses to speak to us. There seemed to be alot of staff going in and out of kitchen but not alot of food getting served. If they were short staffed they could have came and said so, but it looked like they were working on takeaway orders rather than concentrating on customers in the restaurant.

Had delivered New Year Meal Full marks for packaging, clear reheating instructions, quality of taste and excellent for money.

Will not be back. Ended up Ill for days after

Had afternoon tea here with my daughter in law and granddaughter. Great value for money. Choice of sandwiches, beautiful scones clotted cream and jam and other sweet treats. Service was good. Will be back again.

Food was low quality, wine is low quality, menu is bland and boring and staff spend more tim chatting at the bar than they do serving customers.We booked a table at the Goldberry, arrived in plenty time and were seated promptly, however that's where the good service ends.Our order was taken and over 60 minutes later, still hadn't arrived. The server informed us she hadn't even rang the food through and compd our 3 drinks each for the evening.Unfortunately, when the food did come a further 20 minutes after she had rang the food through to the kitchen, it was overcooked, dry and clearly been thrown together and fired out as quickly as possible.One cocktail tasted like fruit juice, I'm sure there was supposed to be vodka in it.I had 3 different glasses of wine because they didn't have enough Pinot, and honestly the wine wasn't even that good either. Granted, the server was apologetic, and we understand how stressful hospitality can be, but unfortunately we won't be back to the Goldberry.In the current climate, a meal out is a rare treat, and I can't justify returning or recommending somewhere where you may not even get your order.

l preordered a takeaway for 5.30 it was delivered right on time by a very pleasant and friendly delivery driver me and my partner had the three course meal it was absolutely delicious

I used to come here before covid,its was always a little getaway for me,so cozy and humble, service was always great and no matter what it was always an uplifting place.When there recently,what a change,dull and stale,it's now got no originality,it looks like every other pub now,may aswell be wetherspoons.Terrible service,rude front of house staff,menu very average.I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Food always good so far but disappointed last night order was incomplete ordered scampi which should include chips and veg only sent scampi.Ordered pineapple and fried egg to go with meal didn't get any but paid for them.They brought chips but meal was ruined.😠

Ordered afternoon tea for a group of us and we were left disappointed with the sandwiches part. Felt and looked thrown together. Slim pickings with the fillings. Chicken was hard and chewy. Also many requests for brown bread were actually provided with white bread. Why have this option if its not going to be provided. Not worth the money and would not recommend. Good cakes made this review 2 stars.

The food is truly magnificent. Friendly helpful staff, not the best place to park an 18 Tonne truck, but that's irrelevant.

First time ordering cream tea from here, I live in Lincoln and these were for my mum, she was absolutely delighted with the surprise and said were so fresh and tasted amazing, thank you so much

I ordered the afternoon tea and it was due to be delivered at 1pm to my mum on mothers day. It didn't arrive till 2.30pm ! No phone call of apology, no recompense, no explanation. My mum said the food was good but when you pay £7.00 for delivery at a pre-set time, and it is delivered an hour and half late, with no communication it isn't a good service, really poor, hence the 2 star. When I did phone there seemed little care from the member of staff, that the delivery at that point was 1 hour late. I wouldn't recommend or use again.

Ordered a takeaway. Goldberry called to say collection would be later which is furstrating. On arrival to collect. Male staff member (didnt get his name) appologised and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with everything. He is a credit to the Goldberry. Now on to the food OMG it was fantastic & good sized portion. Would rather order something feom here than ordering a kebab. Will defo be ordering again. 👍👍👍👏👏👏

Third time ordering afternoon tea for delivery. Happy to make any changes and will phone you if anything comes up. Brilliant service and excellent food. Can't say enough good things about them.

Myself and my Aunt visited this place today. Having not seen my Aunt over lockdown thought it would be nice to go for lunch how wrong was I. Arrived at 11.55am there were 2 other tables of 2 in who were eating. Gave our names for track/trace got shown to a table then must have been about 15-20 minutes before someone came to take our order. Starter was easy my aunt had pate and I had garlic mushrooms. The starters took about 35-40mins to arrive. Then waited for our mains to come which was Scampi for my aunt and Chicken curry for Myself. This we did not wait for after nearly waiting 50mins for it to come i asked how long it would be to be told another 15-20mins during this time a table of 4 came in and got served straight away with pizzas and burgers. I asked how come they got served so quick to be told they didn't have starters. The couple next to us they could still be sitting waiting on food. My aunt told the waitress just to cancel our mains as we were no longer going to wait. They had the cheek to give my aunt the bill for starters and drinks. Definitely won't be back

We arrived for our lunch and were asked for our drinks which I asked for a white wine, was then told they had no sav blanc, then was offered pinot grigio to which was told they had non of that either! asked for anything they had after that.Between the two of us we ordered one starter which we waited 20 minutes for and then a further 50 minutes for main! Our main meal was in fact a sandwich and a baguette (no idea how it can take this long to make up a sandwich) In this time we waited a couple had got up to leave, a couple had sent back their food and another table were heading to leave. After around 30 minutes after ordering we then got a waiter coming up to say they had no brown bread.. after all that time!Food came out was not anything special, but we were in a hurry and starving! so ate what we waited over an hour for.Nothing wrong to say about wait staff that served us, however management and kitchen need to have a long hard look at their selves and have a better system in place. Definitely wont be back.

Hi, just left the Goldberry after having lunch. The staff were really good and helpfull. When the meal came is was not up to the standards that we are used within the Goldberry.Anyway, without going on and on, when I got up to see for the bill my wife looked over the back of the chair,on the ledge the amount of debris was unacceptable, and could not have been cleaned that day, do not know the last time it was cleaned.As we got up to leave I asked for the bill, although we did not enjoy what we had, we did not make too much of a fuss of it, until we were over charged by a deal of money.We will not rush back.From being a regular, they may have lost one.Sorry Betty.PS THERE WAS AN ELECTRIC WIRE PROBABLY FOR SOUND SYSTEM THAT WAS LOOSE ALONG THE FLOOR.

Just had a lovely lunch here. All 5 of us had something different and it was all hot and tasty. My only criticism was the wait. I booked, as you have to, for 1230. We arrived on time was shown to a table and told there might be a short wait. Although they took our drinks order shortly after that it was 30 mins before they took our meal order which in turn meant our food arrived some hour after arrival. As I said food was excellent but left me little time to enjoy it as I'd only paid for 90 mins parking.

We had a takeaway meal from this establishment, making use of the 3 course for £12.95 and it was lovely! Very good value for money, highly recommend.

Had a really disappointing experience. Waited 45 mins after ordering for food to arrive and it wasn't busy, only 3 other tables in. Staff were pleasant and apologized. Then noticed that people were getting take away, so food seemed to be coming out for that rather than people in restaurant.To make matters worse, when it did eventually arrive it was look warm at best, so was sent back to reheat.Hopefully they were just having an off day, may give them another try.

Absolutely 100% would not order out here again I specifically asked for my fajitas to be mild as spicy food really upsets my stomach but no I guess the chef thought you know what I'll mess this guys stomach up and ruin his meal

We had food delivered on Sunday for Father's Day and I just wanted to say thank you as it was really lovely. The food was delicious and made our first socially distanced visit to our parents since the lock down all the more special. Thanks again for such an amazing spread of food, we'll definitely be in for a meal when this pandemic is over!

We were meeting friends so we decided to book a table as this place has entertainment in as well we both had the 8oz Rib Eye Cooked to perfection with chips mushrooms onion rings and peas and Tomato Food 10/10 Entertainment 10/10 Staff 10/10 the Goldberry is well worth a visit we will be back

One of the best meal experiences I have ever had, The nachos are Amazing and the Pizza meal was to die for. The staff are lovely (especially that niki person, She's great). Wouls definitely dine here again.

My friends and I have been goingto The Goldberry for sometime now and like it very much. Choice on both menus very good and quality of food very good. One friend is a vegetarian and she loves their dishes. Last week I had chillie and it was great, nice and spicy. I have never had a bad meal here, and just a couple of weeks ago I spoke to the chef and said how much I enjoyed his food.

The restaurant is a very family orientated place, the staff and the kitchen staff are so very good. The food is exceptional, are there are enough choices to please all tastes. We use this kitchen on a regular basis.

We go here every Friday for lunch . It is comfortable with friendly staff and food always appetising and fresh .There is a good variety to suit all tastes and service is always prompt and professional.

I can't praise Danny and Lindsay enough, they have went above and beyond to make our night amazing 😍😍

Me and husband were here on Friday Halloween night. We were nicely surprised at how lovely it was we only came in for a drink and we had a meal which was delicious. Smashing atmosphere. Guitarist was fantastic..will definitely be back xx

Service and ambiance and beer was very good but the food was dire. Mince and tatties was no more than a kiddies portion, one scoop of each and two roast tatties that must have been frozen and some soggy veg.

Afternoon tea was so so. Didn't like the way we ordered our sandwiches. Got jug flasks with our tea. Very strange!

Worst meal ever waited 55 minits for meal. scampi 7 pieces . Savoury mince and mash portion was a kids portion( all 3 meals were) tinned carrots with packet smash. Baked potato with savory mine 3 table spoon of mince. 3 of us came out hungry! What they got of mince was lovely and was big baked potato also staff are pleasnt . Big let down cause all I have heard is good feed back. Didn't even ask if enjoyed meal cause think they new we wouldnt

Excellent place for something to eat.

This is the first time I have visited the Goldberry in a while and was pleasantly surprised at what they have done with the place. Now more set up for food but also with a cosy area if you just want a drink they serve cocktails, Prosecco and Gin tailored to a younger market. I didn't eat there but the place was busy enough with people eating. Bar staff friendly also Will definitely be back!

Off to a bad start half empty restaurant me and my partner where squash up not to another couple. The service for drinks was ok and time to take orders where ok. Unfortunately my meal was good my partner was awful. Waited ages for the dessert menu ended up just going to bar paying the bill.

It is way to expensive for the size of portion you get. A gentleman was smoking an Electronic cigarette and the staff did nothing. Was not a good experience.

Went with a friend for lunch expecting nothing more than a decent microwave meal. Was pleasantly delighted by a lovely 3 couse set meal which could give some of the more up market restaurants a run for it’s money. The main menu was anything but expensive too, but everything I fancied was on the set menu. It was busy but we were given a nice window seat, and the fact that it was as busy speaks volumes. A good value, pleasant, homely wee restaurant which we will definitely make a return visit and might make it at the weekend when they have live music. What more can you want, fab!

I was pleasantly surprised when I ate at The Goldberry. The service was very good. My server was spot on with her recommendation of the homemade steak pie. I would recommend The Goldberry to anyone who would like a cheap and wide selection of foods.

Not a place I'd have thought "oh let's go to the Goldberry!" But really enjoyedy lunch out with the girls. Nicely priced food. The bar staff were lovely and the lad at the bar couldn't have been more helpful. Our table was never left with empties building up, cocktails were good as were the lattes. Well done guys.
