Went to this lovely, intimate wee restaurant for my birthday meal. Really delicious food, the best chicken pastilla and lamb tagine I’ve had since being in Marrakesh. Also had hummus and my husband enjoyed the lamb cous cous. Staff are lovely. A real family run place with great home cooking. Very authentic. BYOB too, so inexpensive. Only about six tables so worth booking. Will definitely be back.

This little Moroccan restaurant serves good value, delicious food. I greatly enjoyed the Lamb Tagine. Located very near to Kelvinbridge Subway station in Glasgow’s West End. I would happily go back. This restaurant is very small and very popular, so I strongly recommend making a reservation.

Fantastic authentic home cooked Moroccan food. Absolutely delicious! The lamb tagine was melt in the mouth meat and gorgeous flavours of fragrant spice and prunes. Also lovely people and great service. Will definitely return.

Four months on from a previous review I'm delighted to say this remains really excellent. Attentive service and exceptionally flavoursome, reasonably priced, food. A gem. Get there before they run out of chicken pastilla!

The restaurant is small but very busy; we visited at 7.45pm on a Tuesday, and every table was occupied until the restaurant closed. I would highly recommend booking ahead or risk disappointment Having been to Morocco a few years back and falling in love with the country and cuisine, we realised it was difficult to find a restaurant in Scotland that served authentic Moroccan cuisine. When planning a trip to Glasgow, we booked a table after looking over the menu and seeing that pastillas were on offer; my husband practically lived on this dish during our holiday, but unfortunately these have proved impossible for us to find in Scotland and a difficult dish to master making at home. Overall our visit here was a no brainer. The food was absolutely incredible and seasoned impeccably. The pastilla, which after years of waiting had a lot to live up to, was absolutely incredible. We also had the Merguez, lamb tagine, Moroccan chicken, baklava, and m'semmen; all were wonderful and we'd forgotten what a great tagine should taste like. In total the meal came to around £51 which I think is more than reasonable for three courses for two people in 2024. Due to the exceptional quality of the meal, we spoke to the waitress when she was clearing our table (I think her name was Kirsty? - she was really lovely!) and spoke about how we had tried to find pastillas in Scotland and how very much we had enjoyed our food. When the time came to pay, she had passed our praise on to the chef and he came out to thank us personally with, to my husband's joy, a pastilla for us to take home. This was a complete surprise and was appreciated very much by us. All of the staff care deeply about their restaurant and the experience of their guests, and all were absolutely lovely. We are still stunned by their generosity and kindness. We will definitely be back when we are next in Glasgow!

This place is a must visit. Really tasty, authentic food. The restaurant is very small and nothing fancy to look at but the food was delicious, decent portions and good value. All home made and family run. If you want a guaranteed seat, book in advance because it fills up.

Discovered this family-run restaurant a few months ago and went back for my birthday. The pastilla starter is hands-down one of my favourite things I have ever tasted - a complex mix of flavours and textures that just blows me away. I recently had the Moroccan chicken main which was excellent, though I tasted my partner's tagine and wish I had opted for that one! Friendly service, relaxed environment, and freshly-made food - I really hope Goat in the Tree sticks around. It's very good & unpretentious.

Amazon! Didn’t think anywhere like this was still around. Delicious home-cooked food. Clearly created by order, beautifully presented, with tiny touches: spices; pomegranate seeds; fresh vegetables. We had 2 lovely starters but would want to work through every item on that section of the menu….then perfectly cooked lamb and tagine. Moroccan tea and lovely service completed the welcoming atmosphere and we sat and chatted. When we mentioned my birthday, a fantastic baklava arrived! Despite eating many of these in Greece, I can say this is the best I’ve tasted…the rose water pervaded with such a lightness. Highly recommend x

Lovely authentic Moroccan restaurant, which reminded us of our travels to Morocco earlier this year. We had a sharing platter to start which was really well done & a mixture of tagines and the Moroccan chicken special for main courses. The mint tea and desserts to finish were all lovely too. The menu is great value for the quality of the dishes, is BYOB ( would recommend Cave round the corner for supplies) and has a cosy atmosphere with welcoming & friendly staff. We will be back and would recommend to anyone looking for some delicious Moroccan food in Glasgow. Thanks Goat in the Tree for a perfect Saturday night dinner

What a find! We chose to eat here as our initial choice was fully booked. Almost a blessing in disguise! Beautiful intimate, traditional Moroccan dining experience that was not expected. Family owned and operated with a Bring Your Own Bottle license. Lots of options for gluten free dining (including pitta breads) with a clearly labelled menu and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant seats no more than 20 people at any one time, therefore the dining experience is filled with attention to detail and attentive service. Can not wait to go back!

Nice location on Park road just off Gt West Rd. Small family run restaurant, with menu of traditional Morrocan dishes. Waitress was brilliant, very friendly and helpful re the choices. I had halloumi salad starter and lamb tagine, pal had aubergine pate style starter and chicken tagine. We both had the homemade vanilla cheesecake. Every dish was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented-cheesecake was outstanding! Great value too. All in all a wonderful experience-we will definitely be back!

I’ve visited this cafe twice before and the food is good however…….. both time I’ve had to wait AGES for my food. 30 mins + for a simple sandwich and there has only been one other table taken in the cafe. There’s only one guy doing all the food and serving / cleaning tables. They really need another member of staff.

Sat inside as it was so hot outside. Being Glaswegian I was on the verge of catching fire. The owner(?) was very welcoming, took the time to talk with us and, before I ordered, recommended the kofta which was just freshly made. Got the kofta wrap which was easily in the top 3 best wraps I've ever had. Wifey got the falafel which she loved too! Had my eye on the chicken shawarma so will 100% be back to try that. 2 wraps, 2 soft drinks and a seat for £17. If in the area, you HAVE to try it.
