Gloria's in South Oxfordshire

I went here for the first time today. I have to say that not only was the food amazing but elisa completely made my visit. She was an absolute credit to the restaurant. Even if the food had not been amazing ( which it was) I would go again just for the service she provided. Amazing restaurant, amazing food, amazing staff, they have everything you would want. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We only had coffee on this visit which was very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It has an unusual but very pleasing interior. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back.

The food has always been very good on the numerous occasions we've been there, can't fault the service at all.

Excellent. I have visited Gloria's for special occasions and popped in just for coffee. Dining area upstairs is beautiful & comfortable. Service is excellent and staff are always very welcoming. Food has always been amazing. Dessert are delicious with lots of variety of ice-creams. There is seating outside for the warmer months. A real asset for Thame.

Food looked good and it was a comfortable space. Blonde waitress lacked care and courtesy. We were greeted with a rather disinterested 'what do you want?' before walking away without acknowledging our choices. After waiting for some time she delivered our drinks without any sugar, spoons etc. I asked for some but they were all in the dishwasher, she explained. We felt again that we were in her way when paying, she was much more interested about laughing with her colleague about if she she contact a boy or not!

The food is generally delicious, they are simple dishes done well. The pizza is the best we’ve had in some time. The Ingredients all seem to be good quality. The red wine has always been very good and there’s a good selection. The Atmosphere is a bit lacking, some of the younger staff are a bit clueless and the tables and chairs are uncomfortable and heavy to move - but otherwise a reliable restaurant for a good quality casual meal.

It’s like a piece of Italy on your doorstep! We went to Gloria’s for a private party. A very generous 3 course menu with a welcome drink made it the winning place. There were 30 of us but things were made simple by their modern tech of giving everyone their own unique ID to keep a tab. Simples!! Food, ambience, drink, service just everything was spectacular. Thank you for hosting this event for us. It was truly a special send off for our dear colleagues 🤓

To celebrate a birthday we were recommended to try Gloria's and we were amazed. The restaurant is finished to a high standard, great atmosphere with a true authentic Italian style. The food is outstanding, each dish we had was not only very tasty but served beautifully. There was even limoncello served on the house at the end of the meal! We will be visiting again very soon, highly recommend.

Brilliant lunch to celebrate my Mum's birthday. They handled the table of nine with ease and the food and drink was excellent.

My wife and I were privileged to have been invited to a family get together at Gloria's. We have travelled to many beautiful parts of Italy and many times to our favourite Ischia. Well this restaurant just brings you straight to the beating heart of Italian life and culture. It has been so impressively fitted out and absolutely love those elegant tables. The food was off the charts, not only the presentation but the tastes, all was so fresh and carefully prepared. I tried a bit of everything, the pizza's are the best you will come across in Italy, the pasta sauces are created in such a manner, that you can tell exactly what ingredients are used. I don't usually go into such detail, but Gloria's deserves this recognition. Lovely wines and the best Limoncello from Ischia. We were also delighted to have met Biagio and the team, it is one big happy family. I would love to return and have a feeling I will. Just wonderful.

Small but nicely done out inside. Feels a bit like a cross between a cafe and a restaurant. Food is pizza or pasta so not a massive choice. Pizza I had was good though. Seemed to lack a certain something, not sure what.

Spend an evening at this beautiful restaurant with two friends who’ve worked in many different countries and are used to excellent food. They along with myself could not fail to be impressed, food was delicious, service exceptional, warm and friendly ambience, would recommend Gloria’s to anyone. Try the La Schiacciatina Toscana starter ( Gorgonzola and Pear pizza), absolutely delicious!

My family and I have had the privilege travel all over Italy, we love it and consider it a home-from-home. Twice we've eaten here and twice it did not disappoint; we've had an excellent experience and I'm comfortable in saying this is as authentic as it gets. The pizza's are some of the best I've tasted and a very reasonable price, all cooked fresh. The small courtyard is very pleasant, the staff are pleasant and helpful, without being pushy. All-in-all, 5 stars. PS - I have to mention one of the negative reviews below concerning the person with children. Sitting at a restaurant's table eating food bought from Waitrose and then having the audacity to complain is incredible. Madam, if you are looking after other people's children, I trust that the parents realise how rude, bad mannered and entitled you come across! This restaurant or its staff does not deserve that kind of comment in my view, in fact, they clearly tried to accommodate you despite not being obliged to do so. I despair at the lack of self-awareness of some people sometimes.

Best coffee in Thame and the team are super friendly. Have also had a very good Sunday lunch here. Great place to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Amazing amazing amazing! Food was exceptional, service was fabulous so friendly and attentive. All four of us had the most amazing dinners and the tiramisu was so good. Limoncello was good but the last drink (can’t reminder the name) was so so good. Well worth a visit and we will be back soon.

Great meal. Unfortunately, there were no pizzas when we were there, but the pasta was great. Puddings looked lovely, but we had no room!

to be honest my experience has been very disastrous and unhappy. It's a pity because I always go with my child that I take care of to enjoy his snack after school. Today I was at the restaurant enjoying a day of play date with a friend and with our respective children that we take care of. First, we bought some sandwiches to eat at the terrace tables and then to enjoy the delicious ice cream that the restaurant offers. They put us inconvenient to be able to sit with the children at the tables... they said there were people waiting and it was only for customers but I could see several empty tables, later when we bought the ice creams they immediately came after us to pay the bill immediately... we felt discriminated against since they thought we were going to leave without paying, perhaps because foreigners saw us. It has been a very sad and unhappy day. I will never go again. We know perfectly well that we don't speak English very well but we are not stupid.

Wonderful food, great ambience, pleasant staff and reasonable prices!

Lovely place, great food but I serious lack of meat choices on the menu. I had the Bolognese, as other than pizza, it was the only meat dish on the menu, but even that had very little meat in it. That said, the food was very good, the service was excellent and the venue is beautiful.

I had a lovely joint birthday meal with my Mum and families. We were really impressed with the children's menu and bunny ears pizza were loved by the kids! The food was super tasty and of excellent quality. Big shout out to our lovely waitress and waiter who surprised Mum and I with literally a firework in ice cream to help celebrate our special day's! Absolutely lovely and authentic Italian restaurant in a quiet and beautiful location, the service was fantastic and the food was even better! All the staff were brilliant and attentive. Would definitely be back whenever I'm in thame again! Would highly recommend it. It's just off the high street with plenty of parking!

This place is a pleasure on your eyes! Done to a very high standard. Staff are brilliant. We did not eat, but the food looked incredible. Prices looked really reasonable. It's cheaper to eat here in an authentic Italian restaurant than prezzos.

Love Gloria’s. Best coffee in Thame. Delicious light bites, cakes and pizzas. The restaurant upstairs is fantastic too. Not a massive choice which in this case is better. What they cook is divine. Truly lovely friendly staff too.

Came back to Aylesbury to visit friends (moved away 4 years ago) and wanted somewhere away from the usual chain/Brake Brothers stuff, so friends wife booked us in here, and bless here, agreed to drive. What a gem of a place! Arancini come out huge - certainly bigger than I was expecting, well presented and tasty. We plumped for a "special" for the main course - baby octopus cooked with beans and potatoes - absolutely heavenly. So full couldn't actually manage a dessert, but our friends did - they too come out a good sized portion. Recommended - and go hungry!

First time visiting Gloria’s with my boyfriend tonight and it was fantastic from the moment we walked in from the food to the friendliness of the staff with excellent service and very welcoming atmosphere. Was recommended the homemade vanilla Gelato with our desserts and did not disappoint the best we have ever tasted! 100% will be returning thank you all! X

What a superb evening myself and my husband had, we love everything about Gloria's but just when you think it can't get any better, we went for the valentines meal, the attention to detail was above and beyond, down to the personalised menu tied up with a red ribbon and the beautiful red rose that was handed to me at the table, that was just extra from the fantastic food, service and atmosphere that we both love at Gloria's, thank you team, it was excellent.

Me and my lady moved from West Ealing in London 2 years ago. Three minutes walk from our front door was Sikulo. World class Italian pizza. It's 2 years ago, Sikulo is still there, look it up. You don't have to take my word for it. Two miles in either direction (South Ealing/Hanwell) there's a Loro di Napoli. Again, you can look them up. South Ealing first with their authentic Napoli family recipe pizza, popular enough to expand to a neighbouring borough (despite some unimaginable setbacks). Cast the net a mile wider and you take in Santa Maria opposite Ealing Studios. Literally famous for decades. The owner is as famous as the food, swiftly showing you the exit if you're not eating. Tiny place. Amazing pizza. Within that area there's 4 or 5 pubs serving wood-fired pizza. Pretty good! Then we moved to Tetsworth near Thame. Nothing. Thame has a Prezzo.... erm... Thankfully, the amazing Half Moon at Cuxham has fantastic pizza and are way ahead of their neighbours on the vegan front. But I'm sure they would agree, they aren't going for that true Italian authentic dough. Which is a long way around to giving my opinion of Gloria's in Thame. Gloria's will take the Pepsi challenge with any of those London Italian restaurants any day of the week. Absolutely faultless attention to every aspect of your evening. The attention to ingredients, flavour, delivery, service and environment is, in my opinion, unparalleled. The restaurant feels opulent but not ostentatious. The welcome feels genuine because it is. The owner is present, attentive and rightly loved. The staff are incredible. I'm sure most people understand the need to find the right people for the right job. Some people are really well suited to certain things and if you're lucky enough to find the right people to be in your team, you find a certain magic. These guys don't seem disgruntled or overworked (though certainly busy! Not 'underworked' for sure!). It all contributes to the place the owner of Gloria's wants it to be. To say the owner's focus on you having a great experience is rare in this day and age doesn't do it justice. It's rare any time, any place. I would urge anyone to go and enjoy a night at Gloria's, it's second to none.

As a resident of Thame I was aware of Gloria's and its great reputation, so when I saw they were holding an Italian music evening I felt this was my opportunity to see what the fuss was about! I visited with my son and parents and as soon as we were shown to the restaurant upstairs, we knew we were in for a treat. The decor is exactly as you would expect given the the owner also has the downstairs jewellery shop. It was opulent but tasteful and very comfortable. We ordered bruschetta and the sharing platter to start, which was well presented, fresh and offered a good selection. To follow, I had the ravioli which just melted in my mouth; it was so simple but the flavour was insane! My Dad's veal was equally delicious and my son's pizza was one of the best he's ever had! Yes Biagio he didn't even ask for ketchup 🤭 My Mum also enjoyed her spaghetti bolognese which she completely finished, very unusual for her. I'm not usually a dessert person, but having seen the home made gelato on display, I couldn't resist and wow I wasn't disappointed. I also had to try my son's chocolate pudding and my parents boozy limoncello Ice cream 🤫 Yum! In summary, incredible food, fantastic service and perfect surroundings; can't wait to go back!

Previously we had eaten dinner here with friends in the sparkly restaurant upstairs. The food was delicious and we vowed to return! Today we ate a birthday lunch here, though it had to be downstairs as we were with my 100 year old father. The staff and service were excellent and they made a special occasion feel very special. Thank you Gloria’s; we look forward to returning.

Amazing, felt like in the Mediterranean, friendly, service with smile always from entering the restaurant, the food you could smell before approaching the restaurant, wow...decor beautiful and service very professional, made sure we were ok, food ok, food on menu explained fully, any food requirements was no issue as all freshly made in house....biagio aka barry and his staff was friendky, funand laughs to, very relaxed atmosphere, music too...a must visit place...thame beautiful place too...enjoyed our meal and visit immensely....would go all the time, but as a monthly or special occasion 110%...with barry you are never forgotten on the table...music too is on certains nights...can hire upstairs too....must book for meal...enjoy if you visit glorias...5 star experience congratulations barry and family.....x

Had our Anniversary celebration with family (and our small dog Ted) at Gloria's. What a unique place. Beautifully styled with Authentic Italian food. We had an amazing experience with a very attentive host and friendly staff. The food was superb and highly recommend the home made ravioli. Never tasted better puddings. Good value too! Can't wait to come back, (without our dog) and sit upstairs next time. Thank you Biagio xx
