Globe Canteen & Coffee in Tameside

Came here for the first time and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff. I fussy about my eggs and told the waitress as much, but they were happy to cook to order they were perfect as was the toast, done to a golden crisp. The staff aren't bad to look at either and and can't wait to try their lamb madrass and maybe some other things on the menu 😉

This is a family run cafe/ restaurant with attention to detail,friendly staff,good food good service, atmosphere. I visit every week .

Full explanation. Arrived and car park was full so I had to park over the road and walk across. 4 people at entrance smoking so had to walk through smoke. Went in place look nice and spacious. Gave my order and half way through the lady on till took a phone call. Sat down, no I've clean table. Waited 8mins 25 seconds for food which was reasonable. Server was friendly. The food was delicious but at £13.50 in my view was a bit pricey taking. Overall it was a good experience but I won't return again given the high priced.

First time we have tried the globes. We had fully english breakfasts, perfectly cooked and tasty. Pleasant cafe surrounds. Reasonable prices . Will use again

Pick this place out for a spot of breakfast after looking at previous reviews. Plenty of street parking outside, place looked busy which is always a good sign. Canteen feel to it but clean. Great choice of breakfasts on offer. Opted for full english and wasn't disappointed. Served quickly, great tasting coffee to boot. A little pricey but you get value for money.

You just try if you’re local! Burritos are my fave, loads of choice. Been here loads of times, Deffo recommend if you’re looking for hot quaintly food

We have visited this cafe a few times for Sunday breakfast, the food is amazing, served quickly and is always hot. We have had 1 lunchtime meal which also was really good. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes good quality home cooked, reasonably priced food.

After reading the reviews decided to try the globe for breakfast, we went on a Saturday morning and it was very busy . You go in and find a table , go and order your food at the bar , I had a bacon and mushroom sandwich and a portion of hash browns and my partner had the northern breakfast which had everything on including a Cumberland sausage ring , he said it was the best breakfast he had had . The food was hot and served quickly. They serve proper cappuccino and a lovely tea. Will definitely be returning for a Saturday morning breakfast.

Best Breakfast in Tameside ... if you want a greasy £2 breakfast then there are a hundred places within a 2 miles radius .. If you want a quality breakfast then come here ..

Had a nice breakfast in the cafe but thought the prices were missleading as the take away prices were displayed at the counter where you order your food and they give you your table number but if you stop in you have vat added to your bill,this takes the edge of it a bit

Very very nice breakfast and a great choice of food. All food has been fresh each time I have been, and as for the staff, there are some amazing, polite, friendly people working here. One served me called Mandy and she was fab with our order and fab with any requests. All round brilliant place for breakfast or lunch or even a quiet coffee. :)

My son took me here this morning for the first time and I was very impressed.Everything was cooked to perfection..lots of it and very hot...will be back next time im over for a visit..

£3.30 for cheese on toast?!... literally two pieces of cheap white bread with grated cheese melted on top, and my son didn’t finish it because it tasted “funny”. My breakfast was awful. Cheap bread filled sausage and a rock hard hash brown really turned my stomach! Plus the waitress kept trying to take our plates before we’d finished and the music was so loud. Not the place to go if you like good quality, reasonably priced food, and definitely not a place to go with your family.

Called in here for the first time last month for lunch and I was amazed by the place the standard of food was brilliant and the service from the staff was great will be back very soon 😊😊👍👍

This place is clearly targeting the corporate client as the prices reflect this - it's a shame the quality doesn't Afraid to say left disappointed and wont be going back

Called in today lunchtime, (24/09/19). Three of us, three different orders. I can tell you therefore that the sirloin steak baguette is lovely, the chips are spot on. The burgers are fantastic, the lasagne is good. Lovely place (inside decor). Will definitely be returning, I had the sirloin baguette so I want to have the burger next time! Very reasonable prices and the coffee is divine.

Nipped in for some breakfast, I had a sausage and bacon muffin, my boyfriend a breakfast burrito. Both had a nice hot chocolate. Friendly staff, very busy but fast service. Recommend this place!

Love breakfast or lunch at the Globe! Always delicious and portions are great! Get there early to get the best choice! Jacket potatoes are lovely and burgers always look nice! There are main meals, pies, curry, chilli so something for everyone!

The décor is excellent & the staff helpful, but after 3 separate attempts the food was very bland. The breakfasts may be good but other items not …. this time had the steak & onion wrap ….. it was totally tasteless

Visited lunch time quite busy but by the time we got to pay the tables were free. No wonder, food great, staff all very pleasant. A wonderful find we will be back. Thank you

I’ve ate at this cafe a fair few times for breakfast and it’s always good. I always feel like I’ve had good value. Today I went in and had lunch. Was towards the back end of the day and I had chicken balti and chips, which was lovely. Exactly what I needed as I’d left lunch a little late due to a lunchtime appointment.

I have visited this cafe a few times.. never have they got my order correct. Food isn't fresh it is overrated and under cooked food.. and the prices are unbelievable high avoid at all cost.!

went for a full english one morning priced at £5.50 which was fair. asked the staff to remove mushrooms and please add black pudding to my breakfast . was asked what drink i wanted so got myself a coffee unaware that this drink was NOT included in the breakfast price and was charged seperately. i also asked if instead of 2 toast could i please have 2 bread instead. The total i was charged was £10.40 for a basic breakfast. on arrival my breakfast was laughable . poor portion greasy and the bread felt like it had just come out the freezer. was never as glad to get outta there i felt like id been mugged. staff should have balaclavas on.

Absolutely immaculate, all the staff are lovely and welcoming. Food is gorgeous always 20/10 wouldn’t even try another cafe in this area.

Yes, it's full of workers eating massive breakfasts but there is much more on offer to cater for most palates!

My vegetarian breakfast arrived first. Very small, i had eaten my breakfast before the rest of my familes had arrived. There breakfast looked a lot bigger. Drinks very over priced not sure I will be visiting again .

I have been going regularly to the Globe Canteen and Coffee House now for over a year, I’ve introduced friends and family to it because it’s just soooooo goooood !

I have visited four times now, today I went with my son, we both had the Northern Breakfast, served on a large square plate, two sausage, two bacon, beans, tomato, two eggs, two toast, mushrooms. You would have to be a cannibal to order the larger breakfast. We went in at opening time 9.00am, by 9.15am most tables were taken, people really do know where to enjoy excellent food, and service to match.

Visited lunch time tables all occupied but by the time we got to the end of the queue table free. No wonder, food great staff all very pleasant. A wonderful find we will be back. Thank you

Drove past 100s of times but never been in, took my boys today and was pleasantly surprised, full English was lovely, but mushrooms taste weird .. that’s the only criticism , staff friendly place clean and tidy food hot and fresh a must try

The company I work for has just moved into the area and tried this place. It was packed, every table occupied. Just had a couple of breakfast sandwiches. Arrived in an acceptable time. They were very good and will well be back.

We had a fairly bad breakfast here a few months ago where the order was wrong and the lady who served us was so rude and abrupt - we vowed "never again"!.

Went here for the first time with the wife. Can’t believe we haven’t been before! We will definitely be going back. The breakfast is amazing, very well cooked and not greasy at all. The eggs were cooked to perfection can definitely tell they use quality produce the yoke was delicious. The girls behind the counter are very friendly and the owner himself is very friendly and welcoming. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. A little gem of a place.

Took our friends from down south for breakfast they really enjoyed the Northern Breakfast 4 of us had this the full English was good to. Staff really friendly and very helpfull will definately be back.

First visit to the Globe and it was lovely. Had a full breakfast and coffee, arrived quickly and piping hot. Perfect eggs, crispy bacon was really enjoyable and very filling. Will definitely be returning.

We had two English breakfasts with hot drinks and the food was lovely however it could have been slightly warmer. The set up of the cafe is it's biggest downfall. Most things are self serve but there were enough members of staff to do the inbetween bit. However they all had sour faces and looked like they didn't want to be there. A little more effort and warmer food this place will be brill

I went here for a breakfast today and the food is absolutely amazing. The place is clean but one woman really annoyed me. When I was ordering she interrupted the lady on the till midway through me ordering about something trifual. I then had to repeat my order. I sat down and assumed that my food would come with a knife and fork. The meal came and I said can I please have a knife and fork. She said they are over there (about 3 paces behind her). You would have thought she would have said I will just get them for you as they were right behind her. She had blue hair in a bobble. She has no idea about good customer service at all.

One of the best around. Staff lovely, fast professional service, excellent hot fresh food that you don't wait ages for even when extremely busy and the whole place is immaculate. What more can you ask for.

Just called into globe canteen was impressed by its cleanliness and very friendly and helpful staff. The food we ad was very good. The service was prompt and friendly well done. However the parking is very poor.

This place is more than just a cafe. it serves great food and we noticed a whole spectrum of customers from white collar workers to builders as well as the general public such as ourselves. the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was great. My pannini and cappuccino were superb and my husband really enjoyed his all day breakfast. well worth a visit!

Seven of us served really quickly and food arrived soon after, piping hot and delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Plenty of choice, food is generous. Nice clean and spacious inside good for an informal meet up. Would use if in area again however prices are a little steep for everyday use, city centre prices in Dukinfield!

This is a very friendly warm and clean café, great food, fantastic value, this is definitely a place for a revisit.

Fast service and lovely grub. Well worth a visit does get busy aswell suppose it's a good sign. Big menu not just a breakfast cafe.

I visit the globe canteen & coffee restaurant on a daily basis as I work locally. It's a lovely place great food , friendly staff and a quick service . The food is lovely and there is a great choice everyday I would recommend it to anyone :-)

What a great place to eat. I must admit I'm a bit fussy, don't like certain foods touching things like that, but the girls from the globe always sort it for me & make my visit a pleasure. The food is always spot on, fresh & hot not left over warm ups!!

I've been in there with my wife to eat brake fast and what deception. The food was good, nothing special but tasteful less the tomatoes were chopped from canned.I ordered two English break fast at the till with coffees, first we arrive and simply we were ignored, a waiter almost steped on us and not even greeted us. They brought our coffees without any sugar, sweetness or wathever, when asked to, we were informed that we need to serve ourself in the corner, and when the brakes fast were also left no forks or knifes, same answer, we need to help ourself in the another corner.When we were leaving the premises, to close the case with golden key, my wife said thanks and guess what?? waiters were in the Facebook or wathever on the cell phone, and what it appeared me the owner, he was most interested to fill the bottles of sauces.

Absolutely love this place! I've passed it so many times but now I'm so glad I stopped! Food is lovely, atmosphere is good, staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. There is plenty of choice. Don't leave it too late or it might be sold out!

I go to this cafe every week with my lovely friend malcom, I can honestly say it's the best I've ever been in very clean excellent food and very friendly staff zoe we love, nobody would be disappointed,you get a drinks card with any hot drink and it's stamped when it's stamped 10 times you receive a free drink. Great breakfast menu ,helpful staff,good coffee,& wifi,I will put globe on my weekly route,it only takes 4 minutes from the motorway junction at snipe .and the same from Ashton under lyne town ,drive past the Asda,then turn right at lights,on wharf st,then right at Astly st, 200 yards on the left.

Took a lovely lunch at this wonderful and clean and very well staffed cafe/restaurant. Had a very tasty pulled pork with mash n garden peas. Also my daughter had a chicken curry on a baked potato which she really enjoyed. My granddaughter enjoyed and ate all her sausage with cucumber n tomatoes n chips. Nice surprise on way out for young children a nice piece of chocolate so she's ready for another trip here.

Welcoming, clean, bright, reasonably priced, warm plates and food as we asked for it, a change from your average cafe's do recommend.

As you walk in you can see the the welcoming atmosphere. staff are ready to serve you with a smile. Had a hot beef sandwich served to our seats. Really nice .all the little touches that make it are there. We will be back.
