Glentanar Lounge Westhill in Aberdeenshire

Was a discretion service charge added which I believe is voluntary . Never noticed until home this had been applied . Surely they should ask if you wish to pay the service charge. Had the fish finger wrap , not as advertised was no tartar sauce or gherkins. Our meal was only £23.70 but beware if there are a few of you as 12.5 percent service charge could be costly.

We came here on Sunday evening. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was really good. The service was first class, and Dave looked after us very well. We would definitely recommend here as one of the best places to eat in Westhill.

Conocí a un amigo para el almuerzo y fue una experiencia fría. No hay prisa para sacarnos y pudimos tener una buena puesta al día! Dave era muy atento y nos dio espacio entre cursos!

Excelente fue visitar con un amigo buen servicio y Dave se aseguró de que me atendieron, ya que soy vegano que todo era vegano agradable disfrutamos de la visita y sin duda volveremos

Fantastic carvery - really fresh and excellent food, great staff, Dave coull served us and was outstanding - very friendly and efficient and very welcoming indeed. Couldn’t be happier and will widely recommend

Restauranten ligger i hotellet og er helt ok. Greie lokaler, bra meny med godt utvalg og hyggelig betjening. Maten var god og jeg var godt fornøyd.

Vinimos a cenar el miércoles por la noche. El lugar parecía impecablemente limpio. El servicio era de primera clase. La comida era deliciosa. Yo recomendaría el fish & chips, y la esposa recomendaría la lubina. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

Copiando mi correo electrónico ya que nunca recibió respuesta: Después de cenar en el Glentanar esta noche quería dar algunos comentarios, en lugar de dar una crítica negativa. Llegamos justo antes de 1830 para una reserva a las 1830 , y esperamos alrededor de 5 minutos para estar sentados, aunque el restaurante no parecía estar ocupado. Una vez sentados, nos dijeron que alguien volvería en un par de minutos para tomar una orden de bebidas. Después de unos 12 minutos, registramos el restaurante y nos dijeron que alguien vendría a vernos. Unos minutos después lo hicieron, y pedimos comida y bebidas. Las bebidas llegaron muy rápido: un rato después llegó un individuo con dos entrantes. No pudo decirnos cuáles eran, pero los empujó hacia nosotros. Pudimos deducir que no eran para nuestra mesa y se lo dijimos. Alrededor de 10 minutos más tarde (cerca de 30 minutos de pedir) llamamos la atención de una camarera y le contamos la situación - otros diez minutos más tarde nuestros entrantes llegaron (y estaban deliciosos) Durante este tiempo era evidente que había una boda en curso en el lugar. El personal parecía estirado, y había varios niños corriendo, gritando y jugando. En un momento dado, algunos de estos niños subieron a lo largo de los asientos y debajo de nuestra mesa, obviamente no es lo ideal. Habiendo soportado este comportamiento durante alrededor de una hora y viendo que nuestra bandeja de bebidas casi era aniquilada por los niños que corrían, mi esposo se acercó al adulto que parecía estar relacionado con los niños para pedirle que los controlara, y nuestra mesa fue recibida con abuso bastante agresivo sobre cómo obviamente no tenemos hijos. Tiempo después llegaron nuestras comidas principales. Aunque pedimos cubiertos esto parecía confundir, así que debo confesar que tomamos prestados cubiertos de las mesas circundantes para poder comer. Faltaba una porción de aros de cebolla - llegó alrededor de 10 minutos después. La comida era deliciosa, y cuando el personal tenía el espacio para darnos cualquier atención, eran encantadores. Lamentablemente no espero visitar un restaurante para esperar más de 40 minutos desde la llegada a la comida y ser objeto de abuso por pedir a la gente que detenga a sus hijos trepar por debajo de nuestra mesa (no fuimos los únicos clientes que se quejaron). Obviamente, su personal estaba estirado y estresado, y eso tampoco es agradable de ver. Tenía muchas ganas de recomendar este lugar a mi familia para una reunión muy retrasada, y he terminado avergonzado por una noche consentida. Espero escuchar tus pensamientos

Comimos aquí mientras nos quedábamos a trabajar. Entrada 9 £ , porción lamentable y frío Plato principal que duplica el precio y decepcionante también. Para una persona que comía se tardaba más de una hora en servida y había como máximo otras 10 personas cenando. El furtivo 12. Tampoco se apreció el cargo del 5% por servicio.

Great service and the Thai chicken open sandwich was delicious. Rest of the new menu looks great too! Will be back to try some of the other dishes :)

Just been for a carvery the food was lovely, the restaurant has been re decorated and looks great. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Look forward to coming back.

The restaurant has recently been redecorated. It looked great, and the service was top notch. We both had the steak, which hit the spot. Kids menu was pretty good, and all in all I would recommend dinner at the restaurant. A great addition/improvement to the dinning offerings in Westhill. Book on line, they have a 20% off for December I think.

Super food, but inattentive service. We really enjoyed the food - good quality, well presented, and really tasty. We wanted to stay for a couple of drinks after our meal, though, and found the service to be pretty inattentive. This was disappointing as it wasn’t very late (between 8 and 9) and the restaurant wasn’t very busy at this point. Quite a long wait for the waiter or manager to come near us, and a long wait for our drinks.

What a stunning place. Recently refurbished, and it shows. Very impressive setting, great food and the staff were so friendly. The drinks were quite expensive, but I guess that's what you get in a hotel. Food for all 4 of us was fantastic, everyone loved it. My steak frites was the best ive ever had. Popped into the next door bar Scot's after our meals. Lively place, but again the staff were great, and the beer was good!

An excellent meal, the food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. We had Natasha as our server and she was outstanding. Friendly, positive and not too in your face! She is a real asset to the restaurant. We’ll come back again next time we’re in Aberdeen

The service was terrible, no structure to the floor with zero management in sight. Staff were really young and lacked any sort of guidance. Hard to blame them when it’s seems like they have had zero training. Defiantly a reflection on the management they are working under. Food was average , overpriced and took way too long (waited close to 45 mins for starters and mains weren’t much better). Overall it was a total mess and will need lots of work to become an acceptable standard. I understand this has gone under a recent refurbishment and it can be hard to regroup after being closed for some time. So I really hope they can turn things around and make the right changes were needed. Good luck!

The food was certainly good, (2 different starters, 4 different mains and 2 different desserts between us), and our young server Cameron was efficient and fun. Both would score higher than my overall rating. The big negative was the noise level - it was truly awful. Yes, it was a Friday and the lounge was busy, but it doesn’t say much for the overall design if a table of 4 found it difficult to have anything approaching a normal conversation. If we ever go back it would be to see if things were better on a Monday or Tuesday: we certainly won’t be back at a weekend.

Popped in for an early dinner. Decor is lovely. Food was good and we were served by Demi, who was very helpful and polite. Staff are very friendly.

Amazing, menu, great service, especially Natasha, lovely girl, very attentive. Highly recommend. Much better than before, keep it up!

Lovely staff and food, I thought I’d give the Haggis Samosa a go which was one of my favourite starters I have had in a long time. I then had the Glentanar Smokie which was very good and could not fault it.

First time here food was good, portions were decent and our waitress Eryn was lovely. Restaurant looks splendid.

This refurb looks promising. The decor is chique. Staff well turned out and pleasant friendly and smiling. The food was very good. Once food order was taken wait was not long. We had the blade of beef, Lamb Ragu pasta, and Chicken escalope. The presentation was very good and portions filling. Food was hot served on nice crockery. Prices are reasonable and there’s a varied selection of dishes. Hopefully the chefs all have the same standard. Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate torte to finish were delicious, although the sauce on the toffee pudding could have been warmer as plate was cold. Just newly opened I’d like to rate it 5 star however there are things to work on with regards service. The staff are all lovely but there’s a little confusion as to who was doing what. Training in this area so important. I noticed a senior staff member showing people to a table which he cleared but did not wipe down. Sorry but customers notice these things. A prompt greeting and menus given but then no one appeared to take a drinks order. This was rectified and they eventually arrived. The wine order was prompt and there ready for our meal. Nice glassware, nice wine selection again reasonably priced. We had to ask for our food order to be taken and also for dessert menus. There was prompt check back when our meals arrived which was good. So yes recommend a meal here and hope the fine tuning for service will provide a nice dining experience here in Westhill. Will definitely be back to try out more of the menu.
