Best café in town with loads of natural light. It's close to the shops, there is a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly/helpful.

Visited on a quiet November morning. Not the fastest service but we were in no hurry and worth the wait. Lovely breakfast sandwiches with plenty of filling. Bacon & egg sandwich had one egg in each half of the sandwich ☺

I loved the old market years ago,I used to sit in the same cafe by the pet stall. Chatted with people as it was always packed. I really enjoyed on a saturday day out. Now its changed so much,I sit in a cafe on the other end which is nice and they do a lovely cottage pie. Not so packed as much.

Good value for money. Service was abit slow but friendly. Really nice homemade cakes. Best soup I have ever had, it was lush. Like the play area they have for kids.

Although the stalls are pretty good, I only go for the games club every Saturday morning (board games and trading cards, occasionally RPGs) with the kids.

Last week myself and my wife called in at this Indoor Market resturant for lunch. This is the third visit we have made. (We have a caravan near Welshpool and call in when we are on holiday.) The lunch for a senior person was excellent value and included a cup of tea or coffee. On top of that you could have a pudding for a £1.00. The staff are so friendly and helpful and are always willing to check the food contents as my wife has a soya allergy. The restaurant is always clean. We have recommended this restaurant to friends, who were not aware that this restaurant exists in the new Indoor Market at Newtown.

we had lovely quiche, baked pot & beans, both with a small side salad, tea and coffee. The tea and coffee were especially good too. I'd have preferred a little more salad but otherwise all good.

This cafe is called Glanhafren and is in market hall. Food was of great quality and very reasonably priced. The premises were very clean and the service quick and friendly. The staff here could teach so much to the surly cafe personnel which are too common in mid and north Wales. Vegetarian cooked breakfast including tea or coffee was £3.95 and we will certainly eat there again when next in Newtown.

The market hall in Newtown, Powys has fairly recently been updated and since it has been, a lovely new cafe has opened inside. We had lunch there yesterday with coffees. The service is efficient and friendly. We ordered the quiche with mixed salads and a panini. The quiche was heated through and served with three home-made salads ( a bean salad, potato salad and coleslaw), and a small amount of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber. The whole thing only cost £3.95 which was excellent value. My husband had a panini and there were lots of filllings to chose from. The food and drinks were very good, they were served quickly and were very good value. The tables and brightly coloured chairs are set up towards the Market Street end of the market hall and it is bright and airy, with a good view of the other stalls and the street outside. We will definitely call here again for lunch.

If you find yourself in Crickhowell, the café at Book-ish is a must-visit for coffee and food lovers. The staff greet you warmly, offering friendly and attentive service in an atmosphere surrounded by books, which adds a calming, nostalgic charm. The thoughtfully curated menu may be concise, but every dish shines. Even classics like avocado toast or a bacon sandwich become memorable bursts of flavor. The chef’s personal touch, checking in with diners, exemplifies the care taken here. Highly recommended—I can’t wait to return.
