Glen Orchy House in Shetland Islands

Despite current Covid regulations, these were not observed in the dining room. Don't order the Thai option, it took 50 minutes to arrive by taxi for the table next to ours.

We stayed here for the Up Helly Aa event. The hosts could not have been more friendly. Our room was ready for us when we arrived off the ferry. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. In terms of value for money and location, we could not fault it. An excellent home cooked breakfast. The hosts then saved our bags for us and made us feel very welcome. It has the feel of a good old fashioned bed and breakfast, with a welcoming personal touch. More than happy with our stay.

Siamo stati 4 notti. Nella media per quanto riguarda sia le camere che la colazione. ha una buona posizione nella città, un parcheggio sempre disponibile e un ingresso indipendente senza passare sempre attraverso la hall.

We stayed at the Glen Orchy while visiting for a family wedding. It is so central and very quiet. The room was spotlessly clean, the wifi was good and although the room was a little small it was perfect for our short trip.

It's a very pleasant and quiet guesthouse, not far from town center, with nice view on bressay, excellent breakfast with à good choice

Bodde her fire netter og er veldig fornøyd. Rent og pent overalt. Skikkelig frokost! Hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale. Stedet ligger flott til , passe gangavstand til det meste i Lerwick. Det vi savnet var et lite kjøleskap på rommet. Vi kommer gjerne igjen!

Good choice of food, pastries, cereals, kippers,eggs,fruit, yougart porage and the full works cooked breakfast.

Love this place. Always stay here when up for work. Came in late last night due to flights and these were made up on bed, its the little things brightened up my evening. Thanks again Jo x

Nos alojamos aquí por 4 noches en un viaje de negocios y me recibió con una cálida bienvenida, era media tarde y después de viajar todo el día estaba un poco de hambre, el dueño propuso su propio restaurante, en la ciudad e incluso me llevó y me recogió, ahorrando en darme un taxi o a pie. La comida era muy, muy agradable, no había tenido comida, antes, era tan bueno que fuimos cada noche, usted también puede cobrar la comida a su habitación. La habitación en sí era genial, con todo lo que necesitas, las limpiaban a diario y una cama cómoda, el personal es muy agradable y muy dispuesto a agradar haciendo una estancia muy agradable. Buen desayuno y grande y te prepara para el día. El único punto negativo era sin mando a distancia para TV, tal vez me estaba siendo lento o quizás demasiado lleno después de toda esa comida encantadora thia. El restaurante de la ciudad está cerrado el miércoles, pero que hacen un pequeño menú desde el hotel. Fantástica estancia. Sin duda volveremos.Gracias a todos.

Glen Orchy es un lugar pequeño y bonito que la mayoría de la gente nunca piensa ir a. Su comida es precioso, y su servicio y precios coincide con esto.Su comida es como una mejor, menos versión de hinchazón de comida china.El ambiente es un poco pobre, el sitio está anticuado y las mesas están un poco como la cantina de una escuela, pero no dejes que esto llevar lo bonito que es este lugar o te desanime.

Dos semanas aquí recientemente y fue uno de los mejores hoteles. Todo el personal era muy servicial incluso Trevor el dueño era genial en su propia manera especial después de su cinco minutos demo sobre cómo cerrar la puerta. La comida tailandesa en el restaurante era muy buena y el desayuno es fantástico y estoy seguro que Trevor le explicará cómo hace su pan frito. En general, una estancia estupenda con una cómoda habitación

La comida es lo que yo describiría como 'básico del trabajador". Está bien, no tiene lujos y las porciones son generosas. Mi tortilla era un 4 huevo bestia con media un pollo incrustado y mi eglefino y patatas fritas era dos peces y una gran porción de patatas fritas. No gourmet, comida justa.

Yo estaba colgado en Shetland debido al mal tiempo y pasamos la noche en el Glen Orchy House.

This more a small hotel rather than a homely B&B. On saying that, staff are friendly, the place is clean, comfortable and you have all you need during your stay. it has a roomy dining room which serves a filling breakfast and also evening meals, with a mixed menu which includes a list of Thai meals. It also has it's own bar and small lounge. Very easy walking distance to Lerwicks centre and harbour. Parking available.

As we walked into the restaurant, no one seemed to be there at first. After a longish wait, as soon as we sat down, we were rudely greeted by a waitress with an air of the owner (I assume she is a Thai as this is a Thai cuisine restaurant) who asked me a very uncomfortable personal question in a rudest manner in broken English. I regret that I put up with such bad manners and ate there.

Disappointed with my stay. Limited night time menu, not good enough. Catering more for contractors on Island rather than regular guests and it showed. Prices are also rising soon, pricing himself out of the market for a guest house

I found raw uncooked chicken in my salad...the only think they could say was sorry and they cooked the piece of chickend and brought it back to me....I couldn't believe it.....the service was also terrible....staff was busy chatting in the kitchen....don't waste your money go somewhere else

Book dinner for one night. To our surprise, the Thai chef answered the door. He looked tired and harrased as he showed to our table. My friend received the normal menu, but received the take away menu, which we took in our stride. We ordered our meal and waited a little while, probably due to the fact that one of the chefs was ill and the only chef there had to answer the front door as well as cook our meal. The manager of the hotel, Trevor, was too busy fussing over a group of women, who were confused over the Thai menu. The meal was pretty good after the long wait, however, as we tried to pay the manager, he insisted we pay VAT on a sit down meal, stating his accountant told him to do it!!! It took some convincing to inform him that we were not having a take-a-way and that we had in fact eating in his restuarant! In between bizarre conversations with Trevor, we managed to pay the correct bill and got out the the restuarant, vowing never to return. This is one weird hotel. Stay here at your peril!
