I best not get the shits tomorrow's.

Fairly expensive Chinese take-away and small portions (I live in Edinburgh and get bigger portions for cheaper prices). Had better food from here before, maybe an off day. Nice restaurant to sit inside, so I'll probably avoid a take-away from here and sit-in from now on.

Such a sour face. Why not a happy greeting? Even the words gave the feeling I wasn't really welcome. The crispy noodle chow Mien was flavorless and some noodles were burned just as the initial smell indicated. Sloppy cooking.

Lost for words. Possibly the most miserable and nonchalant waiter ive ever been served by. Totally indifferent and it was like we were a massive interuption to his already dull existance. Not one bit of happiness from him. Ordered mains and sides. Served super quick which is always a concern to me. I went for a thai green curry. Nothing like one. Food was nothing more than distinctly average and over priced. Service with a smile was non existant. Same as any gratitude for the custom. Zero atmos and disgusting gents facilitiesthat need some serious attention. Id sooner make Asian food myself than return to this dump. Shame on the owner all round. Sack the waiter or keep the clown on sink duties. Not recommended.

Food was okay, but thats about it. Server made us feel like we were a burden, herdly said a word and actually sighed at one point. The food was extremely expensive, 2 of us got a small main course, 1 soft drink each and 2 sides each, and it was £42! And for that £42, the portions were tiny, £4.80 got a tiny portion of prawn crackers (which should be free) and £5.00 got a couple chips. The door also has a £10 PER HEAD minimum spend, that combined with the prices tells me the ownership is kind of greedy. I would potentially go for a takeaway, but i wouldn’t sit in.

Ordered a takeaway, honestly the service is so bad it feels like you've interrupted their day! Never mind Chinese food, this food was the worse meal of ANY kind I've had in Shetland. My rubbish bin loved it, at over £50 it should do to. One to avoid unless you want you want to feel unwelcome, get the smallest portions for the highest prices and be served with the blandest oriental food ever. A little seasonings might have made it edible, unlikely I know but at least it would have shown that someone in the business cared about how it tasted. Portion size was abysmal for that amount spent, at least a 3rd less than others doing similar dishes. Overall although not pleased with the whole experience, it at least it means I can help others make an informed choice based upon actual usage, and that alone is probably worth the money spent on immediately throwing away the half empty bin bag with its shockingly poor tasteless contents.

I ordered the Malaysian pork with vegetables in Satay sauce with steamed rice and it was rather disappointing. It was our first visit to this restaurant so expectations were high but we feel let down. My husband ordered a Chinese omelette so he was happy with his order. So the pork itself wasn’t bad.. I couldn’t taste peanuts but there were no vegetables. I kid you not.. I could see well-cooked, caramelised onions in the sauce and TWO skinny strips of green bell pepper. No other vegetables! None! Also the steamed rice was almost raw, and crunchy. It was like they forgot to steam the rice! Then they asked us at the end as we were paying, whether it was to our liking. I didn’t say a thing, didn’t want to make a scene, just like I didn’t send the food back for that very reason. I don’t have photos. I don’t believe in taking photos of food in a restaurant. All I know is, I was beyond disappointed and I won’t visit that restaurant again.

We booked for 70 people (most aged 11-17) at 6pm, buffet style, following a sports competition. 6.40pm came and we enquired how long the food would be as all were hungry. We were told 20-30 minutes as they had waited until everyone had arrived before putting anything through (last 2 were seated by 6.15pm and no-one confirmed everyone had arrived or asked if we wanted to wait). At 7.20pm food started to arrive and we enquired why it was taking so much time given we had booked weeks in advance. We were told by the Manager the takeaway was busy so thats just the way it was. It took 30 minutes to get food to all the tables, during which time we had to send rice back as it was burnt. Six people had to leave before the food arrived. Most of the kids went to the chippy and some to the supermarket as they were still hungry. The food was fine when we eventually got it but the Manager offered no apology, just a what-do-you-expect-we-are-busy attitude. Do not recommend to groups at all, very embarassing and disappointing when a third of the party were visitors, invited out for a celebration meal. The poor young staff were absolutely not at fault and we hope we made that clear.

Pancake rolls for starter £4.20 for a pint orange and lemonade was a bit expensive, though. Chicken satay and I chose beansprouts instead of rice, very tasty.

This is far by the best Chinese that me and my fiancée as ever had the food was absolutely stunning and we'll presented. We had the spicy prawns honey ribs, duck with plum sauce, San chow chicken, special chow mein. Absolutely stunning

The food was barely approved no more. The price £44 was far too high for lunch two people in relation to the quality of the food and I was tricked into ordering a side dish of noodles which the waiter did not mention was not included. If the side dish had not been included, there would have been far too little food. Also, the noodles were £4 on the printed menu (the waitress handed out a toad with a digital menu) not the £5 I was charged. A pound is not much but it is illustrative of this tourist trap in an otherwise very nice city.

Really great time, the lad that greeted us was very accommodating and friendly, loved the Tennents Lager, and the Ramen that I had was just perfect. Thankyou.

A group of 8 of us arrived 20 minutes before ‘last orders’ and luckily there was a table available. The chap there wasn’t very welcoming (hence 4/5) but the waiting on staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was excellent and we had a broad selection, so highly recommended. Maybe just cheer up a bit when you’re front of house eh? :-)

Quick service, good prices, not standout and also no complaints. Saw bad reviews, but did not see/ experience what they described when we went for a lunch on a weekday.

Went with a group of friends, the portion sizes are alot for how much you pay like £4 for a small plate of chips. The service was terrible I didn't get what I asked for and alot of items ordered were also wrong or forgotten. The sauce that comes with the sweet and sour chicken balls isn't even enough to cover 1 ball. And if you want more they charge you. Overall I'd probably try the other Chinese places first. Unless you want to spend a bomb on sub par food. Also my friend got sick from the chicken balls aswell so highly don't recommend.

The food is good, although pricy, the restaurant is nice and good service, but I felt in a rush trying to order, and maybe my English is not good but it took me a while to make myself clear, but is one of the fewer places that are open in Lerwick and you don't need to book.

You can get Chinese Japanese Thai food here. I had prawn chow mein, it was good.

Though the food was good, nice atmosphere, good place to stop by for a dinner date or a evening meal while your in lerwick.

Nothing great other than overpriced food was just ok but 5.50 for a bowl of rice is not on ,far to expensive for what you get.

I went and got chicken chow mein and chicken curry My first chicken curry has approximately 7 bits of chicken n curry sauce was that watery it looked like soup. Phoned and complained and they apologised and said they would make a new one went and got the new one, and the sauce was still very watery and oily

This is a horrible restaurant that has barely any vegetarian options and it has terrible value and service.

Was there last night. The staff were very timely, polite and efficient. I dropped one of the forks by accident and straight away they came with a new one. It’s always a pleasure eating there.

The staff were lovely but the food was dire. Stewed and tasteless mains. The chou mein had a hair in it. The veggie duck pancakes were nice enough!

Both myself and my partner chose from the Japanese menu and we weren't disappointed. Service was prompt and food was beautiful.

food and decor of the place decent, nothing special. worn tablecloths, heavily worn dishes, medium sized portions of food. Terrible, unfriendly service. After giving up dinner because the menu did not match and ordering only drinks, we heard from the waitress that this is not a pub but a restaurant. I do not recommend, there are much better restaurants in the area.

We liked what we saw on the posted menu outside, and so stopped in for lunch service on a Monday. It was very packed inside, but the staff took orders and got food out very quickly, keeping everything moving and no one waiting. Our food was quite good – we got the Canton Beef, beef and onions in a sweet plum sauce, the Nimono Vegetables, mixed veggies in a lightly spicy curry sauce, and a skewered chicken appetizer, resembling satay chicken, but fried and spicer, with plentiful white rice accompanying everything. The only thing that could have improved it was a bit more vegetable with the Canton Beef, but the meal was delicious nonetheless. Drink selections were also nice – the strawberry lime hard cider that Mr. Cuddles got went well with the meal. If you’re looking for good Asian cuisine in Lerwick, you’ve found it here.

Spent over £100 on takeaway for 6 people - total waste of money! 2 curries were like water, ‘fried rice’ meal wasn’t fried, bland, inedible food & unwelcoming ‘front of house’. Too far to return. Rang up to complain & was offered money off next order - there won’t be a next order!!!!

Was less than half full, and was fine enough inside. More staff would be ideal as one girl was doing the waitress work and mostly by herself. So we waited a minute or two longer for our food. Food arrived and starter was not bad. The main course was smaller than expected and the sauce for my chicken balls was barely enough to dip or get my rice wet. Normally Chinese food fills me right up, but not on this occasion. Few flies flying about, but the reassurance of one of those electric tennis racket that zaps them was handle on the bar near the entrance

Oh dear, what a disappointing carry out. Meal for three. Some things okay, others poor / borderline inedible (odd taste for 'standard' meals and obviously reheating involved for the noodles. Won't be trying again and obviously not recommended.

Really nice food and a great mix of choices from Chinese to Korean, Japanese and Thai. It wasnt busy at all

My wife and I ordered 4-5 different dishes. The spicy squid was too salty. We asked to change it. The polite waitress brought us an other new one that was not salty. The dish with beef was also salty but we could eat. The food was not something special, the staff was polite and helpful, while the atmosphere was ok.

Just had the chicken curry and rice I'm over in Shetland wrkng and the meal was the worst Chinese takeaway 😩 ever curry sauce like water and chicken 🐔 very dry.

I would give 0 stars if there’s an option. Fake Asian food, every dish tastes like same, we even found a hair in our dish, really disgusting and disappointed

There was a group of seven of us and when we arrived the restaurant was quite busy but most people then left (Did we say something? ;-)). Service was good and food was standard. It was nice that a mistakenly ordered starter was replaced with no fuss and all dishes were more than plenty.

Popular restaurant, open 7 days a week unusually for Lerwick. On Thursday I arrived early at 6.30 and the restaurant was packed. Extensive menu includes Korean, Thai, Malaysian and Chinese dishes. I had Won Ton and vegetable soup followed by Malaysian chicken satay, both were great.

Amazing, made very welcome. Staff happy and accommodated our every need. Quick service and tasty food. Will come back again soon!

I was hosted to dinner by a regular who felt this was the best local Chinese and it was a good call. In fact it's Pan-Asian, with Japanese, Korean, Thai and Malaysian food. I chose Japanese starter and traditional Chinese main and both were tasty and well-cooked, with prompt and efficient service. I'd be pleased to eat here again.

Visited on a (rainy) September Monday, to find the place quite busy with dine-in and takeaway customers. The surprising bit was that the menus are all on tablets, swiping right to see each next page. (I did notice an older group of customers initially struggle with this concept, they appeared very appreciative of the young waiter's assistance with them.) We weren't rushed to make a decision with food and certainly had an appropriate length of time to do so. The food, when it arrived, was excellent - sauces all very subtle and definitely not OTT as we've had in other places.

The noodles and the prawns were burnt as you can see in the picture. Apart from the spring onion it was all I could taste. If it wasnt a mile to walk there, I would have sent it back.

Went here for a takeaway because our usual Chinese was closed, decent enough tasting but very small portions about half the size of the Great Wall and tasty Hong Kong which both taste much better.

Lovely restaurant and quick service. The diners are given a tablet to view the menu. There are two menus- take away and dine in offering different dishes

I called in for a takeaway last week…..not being familiar with the menu I asked the waiter for advice with some of the meals…..well it was like extracting teeth….he made me feel like I was an inconvenience being there…. what a rude man… the meals I finally went with were turned out in 5 minutes and I’ve got to say tasted like they had been the end of shift leftovers. Won’t ever go there again.

Very much a Chinese retaurant in all ways - typical, traditionally Chinese food, Chinese atmosphere and service.

I trudged around Lerwick on a Sunday night and came upon this restaurant. Had a Thai Green curry with prawns and jasmine rice - all very tasty and fresh.

Good menu. Excellent food. Excellent service. I would surely recommend.

I wouldn't put anyone off visiting the Golden Coach but it is a very average Chinese restaurant. Not particularly bad, but not particularly good either. The menu is typical of most average Chinese restaurants - set meals, loads of individual dishes, but everything we chose...

Good menu with lots to choose from, had the spare ribs & a chow mein, but slightly disappointing. I'll try something different next time to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Good decent Chinese. Nice hosts and service. Was a bit disappointed with the shredded beef which was too sweat for my palate. Should not have put in 3 chillies mark. Good selection of lagers - Asahi, Qingdao.

We got a takeaway. We normally get from another Chinese in Lerwick which we rate 10/10. As our usual place was closed, we ordered from here. We were starving so I could have eaten anything but this was so unappetising. Special curry meat was chewy...
