I only had a coffee and can’t rate the food. Everybody smokes on the space outside (no separation). My cup was wiped with the cleaning cloth and when I asked to change my cup, I didn't get an apology or a smile. My advice to this business is to hire a professional waiter! A shame, great location.

The best English breakfast in Southend-on-Sea. Great location: terrace in front of Warrior Square garden and 2 steps away from the high street. The food is amazing. It's a English family run business. They're very friendly and it's great value for money. I eat there often, and love it!

Didn't actually stop. Didn't seem inviting. Seating inside looks like it could take possibly 10 and was bunched together with about 4 elderly people spread out. It looks like it might have been some club meeting. Then the seating outside was half full with smokers. So, it's not really an issue with the cafe. Just the clientèle at the time of our visit.

Breakfast hot & delicious. Owners very welcoming & efficient. Locals very frfiendly. Good atmosphere. My daughter g was welcomed too . I’ only stayed in the area for 3 days. Would definitely recommend.

Cannot stand the woman singing for hours this Saturday. Music and terrible covers blasting all day. Please make it stop. There is NO escape. It isn’t fair to subject passing civilians and residents to this. I would say it’s comedic entertainment but there is nothing funny about torture.

Only gave one star, to make a comment. Really not good, there was a 'music event' the staff were just partying and drinking shots behind the counter. We had arranged to meet friends there, but could not enjoy it due to the bad , very loud music and smell of weed..

Came here for a visit today. The live band were fantastic. Nice sunny day, but of live music with your food and drink, what more could you ask for?

There's not a lot of room inside which is a shame, but the food is home cooked and fresh, the locals are all very welcoming, the food and drink list is endless, and this is why they were voted best cafe for the 2nd year running, try it, you won't be disappointed

Great menu, with lots of choices. Food alway cooked fresh, so you know you are getting a quality meal at great prices. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and always go the extra mile to give the customers what they want

Many moons ago, I visited this cafE on my holiday in South(east)end and my day was RUINED. I was munching away on my bubble and SQUEAK (which was actually squeaking!) and then I saw it. The most horrifying thing. A HAIR. I then looked more closely. i SAW MORE. And they were GREY. Please fire this elderly person. Who was most likely the COOK because they were not wearing a hairnet. We confronted you at the end of our experience and we were told rudely that we could not have a refund! NOT CLASSY.

Went here for morning coffee and stayed for lunch. Food was excellent. Nicely cooked and hot. The yes was good quality and the cappuccino was just right. The tables were well spaced and disinfected after each use. Very large umbrellas shaded us from very hot sun. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I recommend this cafe and will certainly visit again.

Didn't actually use the facilities of the cafe but went to see a band play outside and had a great time!

Lovely afternoon at The Glasshouse Cafe, good lunch, reasonably priced drinks and the bonus of a live band.

Sat out had lunch felt safe tables 2 metres apart and the home made chips are amazing will go back there next week

First time we went there. Had a capoacino and a slice of cake. Both were very nice. And my good lady had a cappacino and choclate cake. And both tasted very good. Am looking forward to trying out a fried brekfast there. As what . saw eatting. Looked very good. If you going by, and felling like a hot drink and nice peice of jam and cream cake. Or choclate cat. Or a nice brekie. Give them a try. Have now been to glasshouse cafe. And we both had a fried brekie. And its great. Nice hash browns×2 egg,bacon×2,toast×2,beans,mushrooms. Yum yum. And a cappacino. My good lady also had the same. And ate the lot. Spoke to the staff. Very lovely people. They seem to get a lot of regulars at the cafe. Its not expensive. And you can get a glass of win. Or a beer. Or cider. Diff flavours. Draft,larger on the tape. But like a mug of tea or large cappacino as well. Dont go anymore. As food was burnt last time we went

This is a cafe which serves proper food for breakfast at a decent price. There's a good range of breakfast options, some healthier than others and they will tailor make them. Better and better cooked and better value than Wetherspoons with some decent chat with the owner. Also decent tea not from a machine

My pregnant girlfriend got a cheese toasty from here earlier today and took it back to work. She ate half of it and thought it tasted funny it wasn't until she turned it over and the whole slice on the bottom was mouldy and not just slightly. She has been sick ever since. Do not recommend if cant even check bread, clearly poor hygiene standards.

Excellent food, good service, nice location, near to the centre of town, and the local bus stop, but unfortunately, all round the café area, it was running with mice !

Bloody fab fresh food cooked to order, plentiful and cheap. No there isn't a lot of room INSIDE the cafe, but don't let that put you off, people watching is at its best while sat on the decking. Live bands throughout the summer are an added bonus, no extra charge to watch, lots of various alcoholic and non - Alcoholic drinks to choose from. You can't please everybody all the time, but you CAN drown out the moaners. Keep doing what your doing guys ❤️😘🥩🍞🍔🥚🧀🍳

This place is a true little gem, food is outstanding, good quality and plentiful. Live music at weekends is a real treat and definitely some great bands to enjoy. The outside seating area is lovely especially when the bands are on and the sun is shining. Everyone is so friendly, service is great and they can’t do enough for you. My parents love it and are very frequent visitors, the few times I have been I would definitely recommend.

donr listen to the minority review about the music , clearly got nothing better to so. The music was amazing and is every week. People keep moaning theres nothing to do in southend then when this cafe does something for people to enjoy you always get that one moaned who wants to ruin it. Yes it may not be your style of music but stop moaning and just enjoy it ..or go out for the afternoon. Lots of people were walking by and dancing and then came in to enjoy it. It seriously is a brilliant afternoon, but you will always get one jealous spoil sport who tries to ruin it for everyone. I take my children and they love it, great music, the field, the skate park right by, great food and very reasonably priced. What more could you want

Preferred it when it was called Pork in the Park to be honest. It seems a little lost sitting there all on its own outside Warrior Square Park which unfortunately is run down and seems to arrtact drug users and the like. Come on Southend Wakey Wakey sort this place out its a shambles.

The owner has decided to blast out awful, awful music from some pedestrian band that only seems to know three chords. There's nowhere to escape from this racket.

Our favourite place for breakfast/lunch when we are in Southend . Lovely place to sit outside in warrior square and watch the world go by ... the barbeque chicken and cheese pannini ...It's the absolute best

This cafe was the only cafe in the town centre I've never been to until recently. None of the other cafes in the town centre do a decent breakfast. This place has great quality sausages and bacon and it's good value. It's lovely to sit outside in the sun and eat. The best thing is you can have an ale on tap with your breakfast if you like.

Travelled from Donny to work in the area for four days. It's been years since I've had cooled breakfasts like this for a great price. Amazing food, great drinks and very friendly staff. Shame I live 3 hours away as I would eat here more often. Hopefully I'll see them again!

I love my food, I come to the glasshouse at every opportunity, the atmosphere is great, staff are welcoming, food is second to none, everything cooked fresh!!

Amazing food and great service and atmosphere. Been bringing the kids here for ages and always had delicious food. Dont listen to bad review food poisoning wouldnt kick in after a couple hours so to blame them is unfair. Try this place and you will not be disappointed, especially in the summer on a weekend when they have bands. Staff and food are always on point !! Best cafe in southend

Hope to be constructive here. Visiting 11:40 Saturday we had expected busy. On entry the place appeared to be running just over capacity. We cleared and wiped down our own table, selected and ordered. Then I watched. I noticed a lot of unused capacity in front of house staff returning to the kitchen empty handed, passing spent tables with used dishes piled high. The food was fine.

We decided to go here as wanted a little cafe and it was not too far from home ,I'm just glad my son is a vegetarian ,we all ate here my other half had a sausage and bacon baguette while I had chicken and bacon ,a few hours later he started to feel ill ,by the night we had to go a&e; as he was very bad being sick ,hot and cold ,they said it was food poisoning we will not be going back

I was staying at the Travelodge for 2 nights and I had already read the reviews on the glasshouse cafe so I thought me and my dad will give it a go because the reviews were good and me and my dad agree lovely full English breakfast sausages and bacon were lovely and staff so friendly and helpful would recommend to anyone

Good place for quick cup of tea

To begin, I will say that the staff are often not quick at serving. I have been twice recently; once when they were a little busy, and once when there was only myself (and my Mum) and one other table. Both times I waited a similarly long time for my food, however, I believe it is worth the wait.

Had a lovely breakfast. Lovely welcome very helpful. Next to a park. Seating outside. A little crowded and furniture a little flimsy. 5 minute walk from the beach , shops and opposite the Travelodge

It is what it says on the tin, a glass box with an attractive outdoor seating area. However the very small indoor cafe is rather cramped and far less appealing and it feels more like a storeroom than an eating space. The ham, egg and chips were not very tasty although the chips did appear to be homemade but I could taste the oil, which needs changing. The ham was about as unpleasant as it comes with two slivers of horribly processed 'meat', which tasted of nothing and the two eggs whilst well cooked were rather bland.

Food was spot on, very nice people also, 5*

The cafe is situated on the green at Warrior Square , the staff are very welcoming , and serve top quality produce , sourced locally , a very tasty freshly cooked breakfast , with a choice of Four breakfasts to choose from or you can create you’re own , well worth a visit guys n girls , I’m a very happy customer

My friend and I visited for the first time. Small, friendly cafe with a great menu choice. I had the tuna crunch and it was generously filled. When we asked for our coffees to be made stronger this was done happily. Looking forward to sitting out in the summer.

visited the cafe for the first time today to have lunch with my Granddaughter. At first I was a hesitant due to being a vegetarian etc. But I needn't of worried, we were greeted and served by such pleasant staff. The menu was excellent with a great choice of food. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was really nice and they even went the extra mile and made my scrambled egg with soya milk. Will definitely ne returning. Highly recommended.
