Glaschu Restaurant & Bar in Glasgow City

Five of us went today for lunch which we all had from the market menu. It was absolutely amazing the venue us breathtaking and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended 10/10👌

A really classy restaurant with great cocktails and food

First time here, would recommend as the food, service and atmosphere has been amazing!

If I compare this restaurant to what is was before when it was the Western Club then it is very poor. The food was not as good and after visiting a few days ago the food was terrible given the cost of it. No, we are not going back to this place.

We have visited Glaschu a couple of times now and it has been great both occasions. Food, service & atmosphere are all fab. We’ll definitely be returning again. We had a Christmas lunch here and it was very cosy, perfectly festive & great views of royal exchange square from the windows. The waiting staff are all very friendly and super attentive. Can’t fault them.

I was very disappointed in the Gluten Free selection available, especially as Glaschu catered very well for vegans which is a life style choice. There was no GF Christmas dinner available on the Christmas menu which was very surprising as most restaurants now offer a GF Christmas dinner. The only desert option I was offered was a Brownie, to be honest I feel this is an insult as brownie’s are the go to option for GF and are available everywhere. The reason I gave one star was also that I did not get a response from Glaschu when I emailed them to ask if they could cater more for GF as most people who require GF do so because of a medical condition and not a life style choice. I’m very disappointed that no one took the time to respond to my email.

Had our works Xmas do here and the team did a fantastic job. Excellent service throughout, very pleasant and courteous at all times and kept the bar well stocked. Lunch was superb and we all left a very happy (and full) bunch. Would heartily recommend.

Fine dining in a great atmosphere. Everything we ate or drank at Glaschu was delicious. We started with Octopus Carpaccio. Then, I had 3 Bone Rack of Lamb for my main cooked perfectly and served just the right way. My wife and I really enjoyed this, our first meal, in Glasgow while on holiday. Our server Gracee was a wonderful, friendly and efficient server. She helped make the evening perfect.

We had an excellent experience at Glaschu. It was fine dining at it's best. Our server, Grace, was friendly and helpful and did a very nice job with our service. The food itself was excellent with every course better than the previous one. Overall, we had a very lovely dinner and evening.

I organised a work dinner for 17 people. From speaking to Courtney Flynn about the venue to the evening she was amazing. We had a lot of requests and needs but nothing was an issue which was so helpful. The service and food on the night was 5* from stat to finish. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely use this venue in the future. Thanks for a brilliant experience.

Absolutely wonderful dinner. Food was incredible, highly recommend Scallops, Octopus Carpacio and Beef Wellington. The spicy mocktail was awesome and team were welcoming, friendly and attentive.

The waiting staff in this restaurant are great. Friendly, helpful and efficient. However, the food (we had the tasting menu) was the most expensive meal my wife and I have ever paid for and although the presentation lovely, the taste was overall quite average. Some things were pleasant and some things were not. It wasn't terribly bad, but in my humble opinion, not worth the price at all.

My wife and I agree, one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. I had the halibut and she had the chicken. Both were delicious, but the accompaniments really made the meal. The mushrooms that came with the chicken were incredible, and the roasted broccoli (yes, broccoli!) was like nothing I’ve ever eaten. If we were in Glasgow for longer, we would definitely go back!

We were at an evening of wedding reception. The staff were lovely and professional. I didn't eat anything but those who did spoke very highly of the situation down meal.

Visited Glaschu with a friend for the Sunday Roast menu. Everything from the venue to service was fantastic. Probably the best Sunday roast I’ve had! Service was attentive without being overbearing and the recommendation of accompanying red wine was spot on. Will definitely be back

We ate there on a stopover in Glasgow. We must have done something wrong, we didn't seem to like the service. I'm actually not used to it... We had the feeling that we weren't really wanted, even though we were actually happy to have ended up in a good restaurant. The wines were top!

Sunday Roast Review We all had starters, with me having the scallops and the others having the mackerel. Both dishes were excellent and a nice portion for starters. The beef roast was the choice for all us with, and we were given the option of having it well cooked or pink. Which was a nice option and helped keep us all happy. The plate came with amazing crispy roast potatoes, a very well portioned Yorkshire pudding, a cabbage/mushroom mix, broccoli and carrots. Mum and Scott gave it 9 out of 10 and I gave it 8 out of 10. Purely because my portion of meat was sliced thick and I would have preferred thinner slices.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in the British Isles. Great atmosphere, service (Andrew was fab) and the food is imaginative and high end. Lovely use of seasonal and local Scottish produce. Highly recommended - we’ll certainly be back next year.

Very lovely dinner! We had the oysters, Cote de Porc (very rich and perfectly crisp) and Cauliflower Steak... all fabulous. Our server, Rachel, was very welcoming and knew her whiskeys as well. The atmosphere was beautiful; definitely recommend for a date night or a lovely dinner. Thank you.

I booked for my mum and her friend to have lunch today and they had a wonderful experience. Both had the market menu and thought the quality and value of the food was exceptional. The service from Jasmine was first rate. They felt very well looked after throughout.

Forget whatever you have heard about haggis. Their haggis, neeps and tatties starter is excellent! Our server Rachel was the best! We had a great time there.

We had a wonderful relaxed and delicious family dinner here. Our waitress Rachel was very attentive and gave us great suggestions regarding sides for the various meals. We enjoyed that the starters came within a view minutes after ordering (highly recommend the pork belly) so that the wait until the main course didn't feel too long. Overall a very lovely evening.

Hands down the best food I have had in the UK! Beetroot & Burrata tart, 3 of the most incredible little morsels I've ever experienced. Pork belly that I had to slow down eating to Saveur the flavours, new potatoes just like Tassie pink eyes with butter and a peach dessert so good that I wanted to lick the plate clean🥰 it deserves 6 stars tbh💜

Very beautiful restaurant, impeccable service, and incredible vegetarian and vegan starters. Small negative point for the risotto which is below compared to the rest. Dare to ring the bell to go upstairs and enjoy an incredible time

We booked the restaurant to celebrate a big birthday and ended up in the private dining room, which turned out to be a wonderful bonus for our experience. The staff were wonderful and very attentive throughout the evening . My only complaint for the evening was that the sticky toffee pudding wasn't quite the same standard as everything else.

Had a nice family dinner. Great food and ambience. Although there was no kids menu, they customised the portions for my boys. They loved the experience!

Even though we didn't have a reservation, they found a place. We were able to eat very delicious food in a decent environment. The prices were not too high considering the food and service.

A delightful'"special" birthday lunch, venison, Halibut , steak and vegetarian. All beautifully presented , excellently cooked. And mmm the Apple Tatin! Not cheap, but good value in a very pleasant setting inside The Western Club, central Glasgow.

Short of it: we had a wonderful experience and loved the food and the service. I kept finding faults with the restaurant (both front and back of the house), but my wife quickly shut that down. I am glad she did. I kept holding them to a Michelin star standard for some reason. They are clearly not. It’s the little things. But I would come back here in a heartbeat. And thank them for the food and the service. It is quite possible that it’s the two bottles of Chateauneuf du Pape talking. But the food was excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. This place has my recommendation.

Lovely food and excellent service

Great service and atmosphere. Feels really exclusive. The food looked great but for the price it was not that great. The source carried the meal. The fish was a bit over cooked. Also not a place to go with a child as there is nothing on the menu for them besides the £6 fries that my 3 year old easily finished by herself.

The presentation of the dishes are pretty, as the decor of the restaurant. I just found something wrong with the potatoes and my yorkshire pudding. Highly recommended the Haggis

Everything from the food to the service was fantastic! It was hard for us outsiders to find, but google maps finally got us there. It was simply amazing spot to enjoy our 28th Anniversary dinner while in Glasgow

Enjoyed the tasting menu with paired wines. On the food side the Cod, the Venison and the dessert really stood out. The paired wines were all excellent and quite imaginative from the delicious champagne to start with to the unusual, not too sweet, dessert wine at the end. Nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly service and no rush which allowed plenty of time to savour each course and it's accompanying wine. Good value for money too.

Lunch with a large number of ladies. I'm so glad we came to Glaschu. Gorgeous meal, really excellent service too. The atmosphere is lovely. I'll come back again! The chicken dish was delicious, and the cheese board lovely - small but special. Even the prosecco was a really nice one!

Restaurant with a nice ambiance

Our first visit. Entry is by use of buzzer system which is not very welcoming but this first impression was soon dispelled by the warm welcome we received. Service was quietly efficient and we were well looked after. We were offered two menus - special and a la carte - and both had a very interesting selection. The food was nicely presented and was very tasty. There is a good wine selection which was sampled over an extended lunchtime. We shall certainly return.

Amazing food and service. Cocktails were lovely as well. Had Haggis to start which was lovely. Had roast pork as my main beautifully cooked not chewy at all - portion size was brillant.

Date night with my husband. Perfect place for drinks amd dinner. Service was second to none and the food amazing. Our new favourite restuarant.

Sad to note that the online menus are outdated. Prices for Sunday market menu increased. Scallops used to be King scallops with no additional mark up, now smaller Queen scallops with £7 additional. Not value for money, following the trend of portion shrinkage and increased prices. Shame.

Had a very enjoyable family afternoon in a cosy atmosphere and enjoyable meal.

Went for a birthday dinner and was very disappointed. Every dish we had was incredibly salty to the point of covering most other flavours. We had the fried sweet bread and lobster ravioli for starter, the lobster mac and cheese as a side, all incredibly salty. The beef wellington wasn't too bad but the gravy was inedible. A shame because it would have been a good experience if it weren't for the salt overkill, the rest of the flavours and textures in each dish were done very well.

Service was inattentive. Did not provide steak knives for venison. Server disappeared for smoke break. Banana bread for dessert tasted uncooked. Scallops were properly cooked. Serving sizes were misery. Disappointing experience.

Summary: very expensive for what it is. Nice place all round, enjoyable food, but not even close to worth the price. I ordered a Halibut, was told they were out but offered a replacement fish, which I agreed to. Maybe I'm just naive but I expected this to be reflected in the price I was charge. IMO £38 for a replacement cod fillet is outrageous.

I found this restaurant on a Time Out list so decided to go for dinner. I went solo & it’s definitely one of Glasgow’s must visit restaurants. Elegant and refined food and interiors. Great service by Keir. I ordered the cured trout starter, roasted chicken supreme main & mango and coconut dessert. Everything was delicious and polished all 3 of my plates in no time! If I was to nit pick I’d say the trout was a little too aggressively seasoned and the chicken a tad dry, but I’m really splitting hairs here (although they do need to pay attention to this level of detail if they want to take things to the next level, which I think they can!) I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re seeking a more upscale & sophisticated dining experience in Glasgow.

Disappointing. Waiter actually told us (completely unprompted) what we should order and was very patronising - because we were two women dining? Wtaf. Don't appreciate that or being told by the maitre d' that the potato served with our mains was salty because it had been cooked in beef fat - very bizarre (it was so salty we couldn't eat it! ). My fillet steak was nicely cooked but, other than that it was a very expensive waste of money and a disappointment for my 'big' birthday meal. Expected better.

Have to say, slightly disappointed! This was a birthday present for me bought by my friends. Service was good, very attentive. Appetisers were probably the best thing about the meal, sourdough bread with chicken butter was lovely, as was the salmon cornet. I had roast of the day, the chicken was dry, Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and inedible. Desert of lime and coconut was just not nice at all. Far too sweet. Really wish I had not ordered that! My husband has beef which was very tough. All in all, I was very disappointed. I had high expectations due to the reputation, but unfortunately, I would not return as this experience put me right off. Prices are far too high to have poor food! Vibes seem to be very posh, but the food needs to keep up with this or people will not return. Real shame!

Mi esposo y yo buscabamos un lugar con autentica comida escocesa con un twist contemporaneo por lo cual nos arriesgamos y optamos por Glaschu. Excelente servicio, la comida deliciosa, el staff super amable. Dentro de lo mas destacable esta su deliciosa sopa de zanahoria y jengibre, ravioli de langosta, halibut, y venado. De complemento ordenamos ensalada de coliflor y papas fritas en aceite de pato. De postre una deliciosa tarta de chocolate y helado de whiskey! Simplemente exquisito. Nuestro top: 3. Sopa de zanahoria y jengibre. 2. Venado. 1. Seleccion de vinos. De verdad que cualquiera que eligieramos sabian increible. Ojala les sirva!

A 1st visit yesterday to Glaschu for dinner with friends. Received a warm welcome from staff. Selection of food, wine and cocktails were excellent. Particular mention to Patrick, our waiter who provided a friendly and attentive service. He is definitely an asset to Glaschu. Look forward to returning again.

The food here was very, very nice, but just not "amazing". The final bill was huge, primarily down to what felt like overly priced drinks.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing service

Sunday was an absolute delight with my partner! The experience was beyond wonderful. The waiter was very accommodating, a friendly and warm demeanor. The restaurant's ambiance struck the perfect balance between classy sophistication and a laid-back, relaxing vibe. Food and drinks - they were simply amazing, I wholeheartedly recommend this place with a resounding 100% and can't wait to return!
