Glade Fisheries in Croydon

I was passing through the area and saw this place. We chanced it and were not disappointed! Portion sizes were good, and everything was delicious.. the cod was perfect. If I'm in the area again I'll be remembering this place, would happily recommend

Chips are cooked to perfection and pies are beautifully deep and crispy. Portions are generous and staff are friendly. Pineapple fritters were a nice dessert!

Portions could have been bigger . Other then that food was good

The shop it's self is ok but the food is not ok at all, it's either cooked to the point it's burnt or it's to to greasy, the use of the portions are an absolute joke £3.60 for large chips an they come smaller than a small chips deffo boycott this shop an take the extra 10 min walk to Danny's chip shop 100%

I love the kid size portions of fish and chips you can get here. Plenty for little ones and also for adults with a smaller apetite.

Good food, but not good opening times, especially on a Friday as we're told 9pm then when tried to order it changed to 8pm Shame as people will go elsewhere & we certainly don't want to loose a great fish & chip shop.

Best fish and chips around! Can get busy but well worth the wait. It is possible to phone your order through though

Used to come here when I lived at home 20 years ago. Hasn't changed one bit. Even the same little mermaid mural by the till. Service with a smile, decent prices, they take bank cards over £5. About the same price as other local chippys, priotions smaller than others locally but probably better for me to have smaller portions :)

Fish and chips done to an exceptional standard! Usually there's a problem with one or the other with other chippys' but both have been consistently perfect every time I have been. Great food, lovely people, can't recommend them more!

Best fish and chips shop in Surrey, and we have tried a few.No skin. on the fish, and batter to die for, nice and. crispy. All cooked while you wait, so very fresh.We to travel 14miles each way to it, but worth it.

ordered hot wings scampi and chips, the chips were soggy and too hot to touch, almost like they had been microwaved, the hot wings where overcooked to the point where the batter fell off before it got to me and the scampi had a very strong fishy odor and taste which i could not finish eating, i hope it gets better in the future

This is by far the best chippy for quite a way. No dried up pasties or long time kept heated chips as have had from another chippie. Food is always freshly cooked. No pasties or pies kept overnight for reheating

Moved in to the area last year. Used most other fish and chip shops in the area. This is by far the best and we have been going there regularly since. The people there are always helpful and friendly. I recommended them to friends and will continue to do so.

Chips are really soggy and dry every time.. if that changed i wouldnt have a problem haha.

We think the quality of the food is equal to the rival shop on Tudor Parade. Good value for money too.

The perfect local Fish & Chip shop. Easy for us to walk to. I Usually have Plaice an Chips or Scampi an chips. All cooked fresh while you wait. Always spotlessly clean.The current owners have been here awhile now an follow same great standards as previous owners. They work incredibly hard an get quite busy at times. But worth the wait. The Lady is very welcoming and if you feel you want to chat it's possible otherwise if you just want to wait and watch the TV that's OK too. I'm so grateful to have such a great find so close to home.

Order a large chips was surprise at the size of it more like a small and at £2.40 What a rip off. Chips was soft and soggy, not very welcoming wouldn't return again

The Glade Gisheries constantly cook delicious fish and chips. Tonight's was absolutely delicious. Always freshly cooked. Pasties and pies are always good too, never over cooked. Staff are so nice. Always speak to their customers pleasantly. Highly recommended. Love this chippy best in the whole area. Beats all others in the area.

Great chips... just need to get crispier batter

Ordered two battered fish, two large chips and a scampi. The fish was nice, however the chips we found to be a bit soggy and there was a hair in my scampi which wasnt pleasant. Probably wouldn't buy from here again if given the choice.

Went here as hubby decide to go to Chinese and as I don't like Chinese decided to have fish and chips . Went in and ordered and they had ants on the floor which is ok it's heatwave time . Went home and chips were not cooked they were literally raw. My husband had one and said it's not cooked . Sorry put to me right off as next day felt sick so won't be using them again

It seems that since the shop changed ownership you get less for more money, this is the second time in a month that i paid for large cod but the size it was more like medium and also the chips look like they were in the chip box for some time as they were dry. I don't think I'll be going back that shop again.
