Giraffe Stop in Islington

I go every time in King's Cross, good and very fast food, awesome service.

Given the location and alternative options in the station, this place offers some great value breakfast and lunch options. There’s a small amount of seating inside which provides a nice escape from the crowds and it didn’t feel like a rushed experience. The sausage bap may appear basic at first but was actually very tasty with a full range of sauces available, and the Mexican breakfast is a good size and presented well. There’s no toilets inside but everywhere was clean and I’ll certainly be returning for a more relaxing bite when next waiting for a train.

I just had the misfortune of eating an English breakfast here. This is the worst English breakfast I have ever experienced and I am nearly 64. The bacon was fatty, the sausages were cheap and nasty, the scrambled egg was rubber and the has browns were greasy. How is that even possible when air fryers are so readily available. Only the beans were acceptable and they were an extra. Do not eat here.

I had a very disappointing experience earlier this week here. My daughter and I had gone for breakfast. She ordered a chicken and cheese toastie- which stuck to its name - they promised a chicken and cheese toastie and that’s what she got - some chicken and a few slices of cheese that were grilled - but nothing whatsoever to talk of taste. My breakfast was even more disappointing - while it was basic scrambled eggs and toast, it was obvious that whoever was either preparing the dish or putting it together just couldn’t be bothered - the eggs were bad and hadn’t even been seasoned. The toast was cold and overall the entire dish was so disappointing. I will definitely advise against going here - at least if you expect taste to be part of the deal.

Just popped in before my train home. I had an almond croissant and a cappuccino. I thought everything was great. Staff were lovely and the environment was very zen 😀 I agree with other reviews that mention paper cups and would prefer crockery but overall a very good experience

Handy place to get all day breakfast, however Tea came with milk already in the tea, whereas I would have preferred to put my own quantity in

Spent nearly 20£ for 2 bottled drinks, chips and whatever that mess they advertise as chicken katsu curry. Using "katsu" in the name of that mess would make you think it'll be japanese-style curry but noooo - it was a sickly sweet, unidentifiable mix of whatever left-over "curry" sauces they have lying around.

Quick efficient service. Just what is needed while waiting for train

Just had burger and fries for 2 of us and they were fab. Didn't realise the burger had sauce on the salad but that wasn't a problem and was rectified quickly. Fast service, attentive staff, excellent food. Will definitely eat here next time we're passing through.

This cafe is ideal if you're waiting for a train; just grab a coffee. However, the food is quite basic and on the expensive side.

Good for a place to eat in the station. Service was pretty good too and they coped well with the continual stream of people. A nice start to a long day on the trains.

Great place to wait for your train, people watch and keep the departures board in full view. The staff here are efficient even under pressure and take care to provide a good service.

Very small portion for the price, only about 1 tbsp on chilli and the rest was rice. Tortilla chips were stale and soft.

Visted here this morning ordered a full English breakfast and i can honestly say it is the worst ive had beans and mushrooms were cold bacon undercooked and the sausage was tuff and burnt very disappointed considering i vist here regular when travelling i will not eat here again dont even deserve a 1 star

Great place to get something to eat or just a coffee. I had a chicken BBQ burger, it was really good and for £12 it is much cheaper than most other places. Great value

Very fast and nice English breakfast, friendly staff and great dining environment. It is located in the train station second floor, plenty of space! They have vegan options and the smoothie tastes nice. My meal cost £15 for one smoothie and one full English breakfast!

English breakfast is good and was served very fast. I didn't like that coffee comes in disposable cups which are too hot to hold, instead of mugs. Less waste, more planet, please! :)

The English breakfast was delicious and very filling. I actually went back the next morning to eat it again. Giraffe STOP is great for a nice breakfast in lovely surroundings. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in London.

Not bad for a quick food or drink stop whilst travelling

Much shorter queue than the place next door and yet they serve the same stuff... Decent cup of Yorkshire tea plus nice pastries. Speedy service - my order got to my table before I did!

The burgers are really amazing! They are friendly people and it's just a cute and calm little place to eat.

Maybe my expectations are irrelevant these days, but paying 6 pounds for a small cheese toast is pretty sad.

Have been to this restaurant chain before but this branch was awful. Food was well below standard. Definitely won’t be going back. My friend left half of her cooked breakfast as it was that bad!

It was an unexpected lovely service. Loved this Giraffe so much,it’s a little different to other Giraffe branches as it doesn’t have a full menu and you go up to order instead of a person coming to you to take you’re order and you also get the bill first(I like paying the bill first as it takes the thought of waiting to pay the bill away).The service was great,food came incredibly quickly.Staff were friendly.Also the food was delicious as well,my nachos(the only gluten free option avalible at this location,fortunately I love nachos)were presented well,great portion sizes and tasted divine!The decor is great as well,the toilets are round the corner

Well looked after before catching my train!

Food was brilliant but no menus and couldn't make an informed decision about what to eat. Trying to read the rotating menu was frustrating! However when we got some food it was really nice. Staff were good but rushed off their feet and ordering made more difficult with nobody knowing what to order. They were doing their best.

Nice enough food. But the service, though polite, was appalling. I ordered a hot drink and a pastry. After 10 minutes I had to ask for my beverage again which would never have arrived otherwise. I certainly won't be going back anytime soon.

Went for some dinner before my train back home. Got Nachos with chicken and my mum got a cheese burger and chips. Both where perfect and I would definitely go again. Staff where friendly and the prices where good as well.

I use to credit this location for great food and good service. However, I got a takeaway burger and fries and the burger was so burnt, it was crunchy and I had to throw it away. I ask you, what chef would serve up a burger to that standard. My thought would be, just make another one. I won't be going back again, very poor performance.

We visited Giraffe this morning on our way to UCL. We were served by a freindly member of staff called Sean who gave us advice on the menu. The atmosphere was really relaxed after a long journey. The food was delivered quickly by another friendly member of staff which was piping hot and super tasty. I ordered a cappuccino which I must say was the best coffee I've had in a long while.

Vegan breakfast seems lost on the place. Same price as veg and meat beast... not sure equivalent value

I always like giraffe the food is nice the staff are lovely but this time I tried a smoothie which was good but it was very small and cost £5 which I think was over priced

Great food at kings cross tasty and served quickly, not a bad price

Had the vegetarian breakfast, green tea was hot. Well cooked and service was good. Not much to write about, sat with a good view of the platform/ departures board. I sat outside the main bit on a table for one, chairs not that comfortable when waiting for a long time.

Always a good place to grab a bite when waiting for your (almost always) delayed train

Giraffe ist im Kings Cross Bahnhof. Wir haben gefrühstückt und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Kaffee ist sehr gut. Pancakes lecker und Rührei auch. Auch die Einrichtung hat mir gut gefallen.

The price of a full breakfast is extortionate, it consists of 1 bacon , hash brown, 2 eggs and toast, I had to buy beans separately also no sausage unless you bought a bigger breakfast, a complete rip off and wrong term of full breakfast the beans were 2 pounds, and they asked this with a straight face.

Fine. Surprisingly quiet for the location and the katsu was good. No loo though.

It's a very nice restaurant, breakfasts come in large portions and there a great selection of toasties and burgers in the afternoon. The staff are always friendly. I would definitely recommend :).
