Giraffe in Crawley

We didn't have high expectations when we visited, but the menu looked ok. The food and service turned out to be really really good - we both had burgers, I swapped my fries for a salad which was delicious as was the taco starter which we shared. Friendly, efficient staff. Made a wait at the airport pleasant!

Terrible - waitress was rude and the food was terrible. My sons pizza was slimy on the bottom and looked undercooked. Clearly just heated in a microwave. My loaded nachos were not that great and the bottom ones weren't even cooked. Won't be returning!!!

Nos sorprendió mucho lo bueno que era este lugar para un restaurante del aeropuerto. Estaba bastante ocupado, pero tenía un ambiente agradable; casual y relajado. También el personal era muy amable y muy eficiente. La comida estaba bien presentada y sabía muy bien, ¡qué más se puede pedir!

Lovely place with a great variety of breakfasts. We found the staff were attentive and extremely hard working. Ellie served us and we found her to be efficient and friendly.

A very friendly waitress called Dasha greeted us, seated us and took our order. We chose fish and chips and were impressed by the quality of the batter and freshness of the fish, as well as the mushy peas and tartare sauce served alongside. For a meal cooked and served so promptly it was really well presented and delicious. Our waitress checked at intervals that we had everything we needed and were happy with the food and stressed that we had only to ask her if we needed anything. Full marks for service and food alike

I travel through Gatwick often and I love to have breakfast or dinner at Giraffe. The menu items are interesting, the service is quick and the staff are usually very attentive. I want to keep coming here however for the last couple of years the menu has been the same. Please refresh your items and perhaps consider specials.

Lovely spot for a quick dinner and drink, had look at the menu on the board and then waited by the host station lovely lady called Eli greeted me and sat me at a table with a menu there was so much to choose from I went with the birra tacos and smoothie and they were so good! Quick efficient service

We approached the restaurant and noticed several vacant tables. After waiting for ten minutes, we politely asked multiple staff members to take our order, but they all ignored us actively. Eventually, we noticed a QR code on the table and used it to place our order. When the food arrived, a server called over two other employees. To our surprise, they accused us of being "unbelievably rude" customers for simply sitting down without prior permission. Apparently, this was not a walk-in restaurant, and we were expected to know this despite no signage or hints on the table. The situation escalated as the staff loudly insisted we leave and not order via QR code. The scene was ridicules since the food was already served and in front of us. All we could do was to remain calm and explain our situation, but they were relentless. Ironically, only a portion of our order was delivered. Frustrated, we had to leave abruptly due to our impending flight. I never have written a review before, but this experience compelled me to share it. Your employees displayed unprofessional, rude and loud behavior in a completely simple situation. Never again!

I had a really good well cooked meal in this restaurant. It was all the more enjoyable as it was reasonably priced and the staff were excellent. Marina, my server went out of her way to make me feel welcome and to check was I happy with my order. I was. I noticed the service at other tables was also very helpful. A young family were advised on menu choices. And every effort was made to help in this happy buzzy atmosphere . I have never written a review on here before but felt that praise must be given where excellence and customer service is to this very high standard.

We really enjoyed dining at the Giraffe. The meals were tasty and the service very friendly, especially Patricia :) We will be happy to come back next time we are at Gatwick

Both attendants had the Cheese&Bacon Burger. I am amazed by the quality of the food at this place, and not in a good way. When stopping for a final bite to eat with a family member before they departed, I did not expect food this appalling. Granted this is Gatwick Airport and I wasn't expecting 'The Ritz' but the food was truly woeful. Chips clearly stale and re-heated, the burger with a revolting 'burnt pickle' flavour is the only way I can describe it. After scraping this disastrous sauce out the bun I was able to swallow the food. Just. Now you maybe be asking, why wouldn't I say something, a chain such as Giraffe can reconcile something like this. Well I most certainly disagree for two reasons. ONE - Why is it my duty to report food that is so clearly served knowingly at a poor level? I am there to dine and enjoy a final moment with an acquittance, not complain to Food & Beverage staff. TWO - Had I sent the food back, would it have undertaken a metamorphosis? I think probably not. Safe to say I shan't be returning to Giraffe Gatwick Airport South, nor their other branches. I am upset really, for a reasonably well-known chain such as Giraffe, with huge locations such as London South Bank, they served food that was extremely overpriced slop. What must foreign visitors think of the UK when they are stung with insane prices for the worst meal they'll have in a while. It seems the '11 minute promise' of food arriving at the table from the moment of order is more important than the food quality itself. Yes, people need to make their flights. But they also don't want a shocking meal. The ONLY rectifying factor was the service, they were polite and prompt. All you can ask for at an airport restaurant. MY ADVICE - Go the Wetherspoons across the way, it'll be cheaper, less crap and they'll have more beer to make you forget about a Giraffe burger.

Absolutely incredible customer service. We visited early in the morning and the waiter Fabio was incredible. To be completely honest my first choice was wetherspoons but their staff there did not seem to be educated in food allergies or Wetherspoons do not seem to value them as customers. Facing it was Giraffe and I was apprehensive about eating there as I had never eaten at one before. They made us feel valued and cared about my son's allergies and even had a tablet with ingredients that trigger the allergies. Flavio was awesome he helped my 11 years son with what meals was available to him and even had time to come back during the meals to see how my son was getting on and want anything else. WELL DONE GIRAFFE, We will visit our local branch fuw to your hospitality.

Had a decent breakfast at Giraffe between flights. The service was quite slow, but the yoghurt and müsli was tasteful.

This was a very disappointing choice. It took 10 minutes to get us served yet the restaurant was almost empty. The English breakfast was minute - one sausage, half a tomato, a measly rasher of fatty bacon, a few baked beans and cubed fried potatoes....

I had a sirloin and my wife a GF burger both perfectly done and served really fast, Simeona fronted the service outstandingly but you know when you are in a place that the whole team comes together and this one of those!

Dined here on a stopover. Ordered a burger. Over-priced, wasn't freshly cooked. Fries were cold. I rejected the meal - the staff were hugely apologetic, and are basically trying to make the best of a bad job. Left hungry and went to Wetherspoons instead.
