Giovanni’s in Islington

Nothing bad about this place, it's very tired and food is okay and nothing to write home about. Shame as that extra little effort on the dishes with some flavours, more fresh produce would make a big difference for what they charge. The hole where evidently there was a lamp on every table being pat he'd up pretty much says it all, must have taken time and effort but a new table cloth (even if still plastic!) may have looked smarter. £40/head okay for location, just shame that little extra effort would shine considering its right in the City.

Loved this from start to finish. We were a large family with no booking and they were very happy to accommodate us. Had a sample of the entire menu between the whole party and everything hit the spot. Pizza was excellent. Deserts all lovely and good portions. Staff were really excellent, really strong family vibe to the place and they were brilliant. Would highly recommend.

I wanted an authentic Italian meal and wow did they deliver. The greeting from Pino and his delightful wife was top drawer, then we were served some of the best Italian food i've had in the UK. Three courses and great wine. A lovely experience and i would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will be back for sure!

Didn’t go here based on recommendations or reviews, but just because it was nearby. Prawn and calamari starters were both pretty good. Risotto was OK, melanzana was a bit too cheese heavy, but OK. All-in-all it was a nice enough meal, but at £100 for 2 (including wine) it was a bit expensive for what we had.

Vi fik pizza og pasta. Maden var meget almindelig i kvalitet med næsten ingen smag. Når de serverede en pint Peroni øl så var det fra 1 flaske der allerede havde været åben og ny flaske. (Slatter) Det der var mest bemærkelsesværdig var at chefen aldrig smilede og medarbejderne bar præg af at de havde en streng chef.
