Cozzo in Islington

Cozzo and the Iskele restaurant share the same kitchen, so when Cozzo is closed, go to Iskele. We ate very good linguini portofino, delicious seebass and good Caesar salad. Turkish wine turned out to be quite tasty also. Nice and efficient service. Very good value for money. Highly recommend.

Liars we set a table and arrived and said they were closed.

Booked for today, confirmed, confirmation email, and once arrived found to be “closed” and a group occupying all tables…

The main reason I came to this restaurant was to see it so I can book a table for a big group of friends but after experiencing this I changed my mind. if you don’t go dressed elegant please don’t go to this his place, you gonna get treated very poor. I went to this restaurant dressed jeans and hoodie. The waiter treated me very bad I felt humiliated, they don’t check on you, they bring you the food and they leave in rush, if you ask for something you feel uncomfortable. I rarely write bad reviews but this one I had to do it. I’m not coming back again to this place and thank God I didn’t book the table for 18 people before I checked it. I came to enjoy it but I left very disappointed.

Very friendly service and delicious food. It was so good that we decided to eat there twice in three days. Perfect combination of italian and turkish food.

We were happily surprised with this lovely little restaurant that we found totally by chance. The menu was extensive, we were almost spoilt for choice. We went in to have pasta however ended up eating some yummy Turkish food. Definitely will visit again and recommend to friends .

Was looking for authentic pizza in a unique restaurant and was very happy with my choice. We were a family of four and used to good pizza. I'd actually say this was the best pizza I've had. The Antipasti was also beyond expectations in terms of quality and quantity. It was a special occasion, and weren't looking for a cheap meal. But I'd be very happy to come again. The service was also spot on. We ended up taking away half the pizza as we couldn't get through it all and the staff were very happy for us to do so.

Beef Moussaka 🤔? Englisch - griechisches Intermezzo, das Beef leicht minzig, hat den typisch mediterranen Kräutergeschmack etwas gebremst, war aber eine sehr gute Kombination. Es gibt aber auch original Moussaka. Das nächste Mal vielleicht.

Good Mediterranean and Italian restaurant, crowdy and noisy, but with decent food and and ok selection of wines, prices are good and staff are too.

It was amazing food , pizza was tasty and the main course was just divine . The ladies and gents serving very professional, friendly and definitely recommend 100/% will be back again .

Wir ein nettes Abendessen. Leider ein sehr ungünstigen Tisch und auch die Lautstärke in diesem Restaurant war ziemlich laut. Wer es also gemütlich mag, wird sich hier nicht so wohl fühlen. Das Essen selber war ganz okay, Salz und Pfeffer hat uns gefehlt.

Nice food, decent service. We were sat in the sister restaurant next door which was beautifully decorated. Had some tummy issues that evening which may or may not have been related to the food .

Small portion size but decent quality food. Nice staff. Restaurant is joined with a Mediterranean restaurant so there are a lot of options to choose from.

Great little restaurant with a nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Having merged the Italian restaurant with the Mediterranean restaurant next door, the menu (which was already quite extensive) should cater for pretty much everybody.

Lovely find after watching a show at the Barbican. Really good value for money, lovely friendly staff and great for families. Good choice on the menu, we hope to be back

Warm and friendly pub atmosphere. Food was good and the staff gets high marks for how they took time to relate to our 3 year old grandson. We also felt prices were quite reasonable. Would definitely stop here again.

Great place for pasta, the portions are extremely generous, staff super mindful, very much recommended. Taste a little on the bland side for me, just a pinch of salt then it's perfect

Great service and delicious food! I was roaming around alone in the late evening after a long days work, trying to find somewhere to get dinner and was pleasantly surprised when I found this restaurant. They made me feel very welcome, and showed excellent hospitality, I left feeling well catered to! I tried a prawn and spaghetti dish, the flavours were fresh and tasty.

Visited many times with friends and family, literally my favourite restaurant! Such lovely staff that can't do enough for you, make you feel very welcome and remember you from previous visits, I always ask what they recommend and thier knowledge of the vast menu is fantastic, great cocktail and wine selection. I recommend the whitebait, Greek salad, taramasalata, bolognaise, steak, chilli prawns, olives, arrabiata and mixed grill. Can't wait to go back!

Visited after visiting the Barbican, not too far away, a combined Italian and Turkish restaurant, very good service, excellent food with very good portions, should not have had a starter. Recommend and would visit again if I was in the area.

Really enjoyed this experience. As you near Cozzo it has merged with the restaurant next door, at the moment at least. The food was fresh and very tasty. The street vibe was fun with dancing in the street but not intrusive. All of our party enjoyed everything we had and no dessert was possible as we were stuffed. Staff friendly and good service. Will be back soon.

Il ristorante ha il nome e i piatti italiani, ma è Turco, il che non dispiace, bel locale, buon servizio, e i piatti piccanti 🌶, molto , molto piccanti. Buon vino turco e caffè turco monumentale.

Average foreign italian pizza (Italian speaking). The location is nice and the price are quite ok. I would not recommend it if you want to try the real Italian experience

Food was nice, service was decent. The restaurant is split into two and the second half was completely dead. Complete mood kill, would definitely recommend sitting in the other half of possible.

We didn’t actually get to experience the restaurant as the place decided to close without telling us. I had an email confirmation for a reservation on 27th December before a trip to the Barbican to see a concert. I tried to phone that afternoon and as there was no answer, just presumed they were busy as it was the first day that the Barbican had reopened following their Christmas closure. I didn’t want to let an independent restaurant down in the current climate so we still went, to find it ‘Closed for the Christmas break until 4th January’!!!!! We were so disappointed and it really took the edge off our evening. There were no other options so we had to jump back on the train to Liverpool Street and grab a McDonalds….. not really what we wanted for our Christmas Day out in London. Shocking customer service given that they had my email and mobile number. Even now, Google and Trip Advisor say they are open and there is no post on their Fb or page or website to say they are closed. No message on their voicemail either. A business should know that our of date social media and internet exposure is worse than not using it at all. Get your act together Cozzo. I will be calling you for your comments when you reopen!!!!

Just visited this lovely restaurant. It’s joined to the Iskele which gives plenty of options for food, which was served in a fashionable time. The food was great and will be going again the next time I’m in London.

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere

What outstanding service we received here, Mum wanted a Sherry they didn’t have any, no problem she ordered a Diet Coke. 5 minutes later a Sherry appeared they had been to a pub to get Mum a Sherry. Mum was over the moon thank you so much for making Mums day! On top of this the food was amazing we had a mix of Mediterranean & Italian it was all delicious, a fantastic lunch in a restaurant I would recommend to anyone. Brilliant even got to wear the birthday hat👍

We came here to have pizza and Lazagna, the pizza was average. The Lazagna was the worse I have ever tried. I would give 3 stars for the whole experience, but then I have expressed my review to the waiter, he was rude, passive aggressive saying "go ahead make a review", I have advised that in future they should ask if the client is enjoying, if everything is ok, he was again rude, "thank you we will do it bye", also loud. Also terrible noise from overly drunk clients, I mean extremely LOUD, and no action. I always do good reviews but dont ask for the Lazagna also dont expect good customer service.

Stopped in for dinner after a show at the Barbican Center and we're really happy with all of our meals. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and friendly. We kept their card and would absolutely return next time we are in the area.

I've been coming to Cozzo for almost 8 years! It's a lovely little restaurant with incredibly friendly and helpful staff and really good food which is very reasonably priced.

This little Italian ticks all the boxes. Delicious fin crust pizza with quality toppings, gigantic garlic bread (just as big as a pizza) and the cheapest Aperol Spritz in central London ( just £7).

We all tried the pasta dishes with a nice bottle of wine, which we had the pleasure of tasting beforehand. I had a penne pasta with a tomato sauce, which was a decent portion. Other group members also enjoyed their ravioli and seafood pasta dishes. Service was efficient and would return!

One word: calzone. Yes, their menu has a lot more on it, but don't allow yourself to be distracted by that. Order one of the calzones and you'll be very happy. Good wines too, but it's all about the calzone. Did I mention they do calzone here?...

Tuvimos una cena el viernes por la noche como solista. Me hicieron sentir bienvenido tan pronto como entré. La comida llegó rápidamente y fue increíble. Tuve el queso de cabra crostini como aperitivo. Era abundante, deliciosa, bien presentada y una buena elección. Seguí con spaghetti carbonara (cliché, pero mi favorito y el juez de un buen italiano) otra vez, sin esperar, la comida estaba fresca y hecha de la manera que debería hacerlo la carbonara. Tiramisú para el postre y lo mejor de este restaurante, aparte del amable personal y la increíble comida g, es lo barato que es. Gracias por la gran noche. Fácilmente el mejor italiano de la zona.

Pleasant non chain Italian restaurant in the EC1 foodie district of Whitecross Street. Friendly staff, cosy (ok a bit crowded) and very efficient service. Has seating outside largely for tobacco addicts. I think that the restaurant shares a kitchen with (linked?) Turkish restaurant next door, so it is not unknown to see someone have a Turkish starter before say, their pizza. Good pasta dishes and side salads, both generous portions. Pizzas tend to be thinnish and crispy, which is how I like them. Reasonable prices, wine arguably a little pricy for the quality, but they have to make their margins somewhere.

Amazing Italian restaurant on Whitecross street. Very clean nad nice environment. We had our food under the 10 minutes and it was delicious. I highly recommend.

Was quick, a nice atmosphere and busy, but not crowded on a Friday night. I asked for a weird variation on my primavera pizza and they managed to do it for me. It was super delicious. The menu was also very reasonably priced.

Nous habitions dans le quartier pour une semaine environ et nous rendions régulièrement à ce restaurant pour y dîner. Les serveurs étaient adorables et la cusine excellente! Le rapport qualité pirx est aussi très bon avec de grandes portions. Nous le recommandons à 100%!

Le serveur était adorable et les plats délicieux : un quatre saison savoureuse ; une calzone excellente et des pâtes cuisinés avec une succulente sauce tomate. Bravo ! ça nous a tellement plu que nous y sommes retournés le lendemain !

Sehr leckeres Essen, große Portionen zu einem fairen Preis! Richtig gute italienische Küche, bei der auch für Vegetarier was dabei ist. Es ist ein schön eingerichtetes Lokal, mit sehr freundlichen Bedienungen. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert, wenn man auf der Suche nach guter Pasta oder Pizza ist.

Sad to say, food is very average. Service speedy but not that friendly. Worth checking out if you’re hungry - prices are good - but don’t expect too much.
