Staff were super kind and allowed us to feel welcome in this lovely restaurant. The food was great too.

Party of 8 accomodated at the last minute due to a very disappointing experience elsewhere that evening. The main I really wanted waant availible which is fine this can happen but the waitress was great and also let me know of one other dish not available and was so polite. I ordered a hake dish which was wonderful. Mixed starters were perfect and 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian catered for with absolute ease. Fabulous staff, great food, lovely atmosphere. Oh.....staff uniforms were just beautiful especially the attention to detail having the squid theme printed and on menus! Thanks for a great evening and accommodating us effortlessly at the last minute.

Staff are friendly and the food was delicious we get what we asking for so far we had a great nice we recommend it to everyone if who like something for change will go back again with friends or famil. 😃

Very impressed with this Thai restaurant. The interior decor is in an amazing floral style with a spiral staircase going upstairs. The menu is straightforward and is just a few pages so you're not overwhelmed. Four of us dining tonight and everyone absolutely pleased with their dishes. I had the lamb massaman curry with rice. I'd recommend it. Serving staff were prompt and friendly. There is street parking or a paid car park nearby. I would definitely return to the Giggling Squid.

Honestly…. One star is minimum, otherwise you would NONE from me - I ordered a takeaway but the worst I have ever had - and expensive … If you care, contact me - if you don’t, carry on ripping people off !!! Had I been in the restaurant I would not have paid but, apparently, you don’t have that option for deliveries ….. Harborne and expensive means nothing !!!!! Horrible…..

Excellent service and food, came here today for a friend's birthday gave the birthday boy a complimentary cake on the house and sang happy birthday to him and the end of our meal, cocktails were also 10/10 will definitely recommend. Staff are very friendly and are willing to go above and beyond thank you for a amazing evening

Ate today for lunch and had the tapas menu which is either pick your own smaller dishes or choose from set tapas. This was really good value and the food was lovely.

First time there with my wife and will definitely return food was plenty and splendid, service could have been slightly quicker, but not to bad overall.

This place is so overpriced and the service was poor we booked in advance and when we turned up they didn’t have a clue we opted for a set Christmas menu and the waitress still had to ask what we would like even though we had picked our menu before hand I would not recommend this place

our starter was lovely but our mains were very disappointing and nothing we couldn't replicate at home for much less. We found our greeter rude as she exclaimed that we would need to have left by 20:30. This was a bit brash as we'd been given a time to leave before we'd even sat down. The mens toilets were not pleasant at all as there were dirty habd towels everywhere and vomit in one of the unrinals. The upstairs section of the resteraunt was also far too hot and there was only one member of staff to serve 7 tables, so seevice was slow. However our server was very pleasent. We were so disappointed as this was a special occasion, being new years eve. We'd expected more as we went to the branch in Worcester and that was fantastic. All in all, the experience and food was nowhere near worth the price of the bill. We wouldn't recommend, nor return to the Harborne branch

I came here, I like the atmosphere of the shop, it looks clean , I like the flowers, the photo corner is beautiful, my favorite food is Prawns 🦐Pad Thai , I like to eat seafood, 🦐🦑there are many seafood dishes to choose from, such as salmon curry, seafood honey, I like it very much, you have to come and try it once, 😍🥂

Service was slow. We stood at the door for a good 3-4 minutes waiting to be noticed. food was good but too strong once you start to become full. For what it is and compared to other local places it's on the pricier side.

When we arrived, the staff member who greeted us, ?the manager, was rude. She informed us that we were 15 late and that we had to leave by 7:00 PM. Her manner was abrupt and not what we expected based on our previous experience. Later, when we pointed out that our booking was until 7:30 PM, she insisted that we needed to leave by 7:25 PM at the latest. At the end of our meal, no one came to assist us with settling the bill by credit card until one of us got up and asked for the card reader. Fortunately, the food was good. It’s just a shame about the greeting we received upon arrival and the long wait for payment.

Obnoxious amount of sugar in curry. I was unable to eat the dish. Hectic service. Loud environment - difficult to have a conversation.

The food here is absolutely delicious and flavourful! Service was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening out. I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful Thai / Asian fusion restaurant with an eclectic menu. Food was delicious including the unique black sesame sorbet. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. . Really enjoyable meal.

Vegan options are let down. Very little tofu or vegetable in it and curry taste very blend. Not authentic Thai food

Heard a lot about this place so booked it for lunch for our birthday. The decor is bright and relaxing. Great menu bit as we were there for lunch we went for the tasting dish. It's served and a 4 section plate so you get a selection of different dishes on plate. Highly recommended if you like Thai food.

I've passed this place so many times while going for breakfast I knew we just had to try here. We made reservations mid day so was reeeeeally quiet. We were seated at the 'bird cage' table which I LOVED!!!! The food was very, very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were exactly what I expect when being served, they were perfect. Thus venue was warm, clean and comfortable. Absolutely recommend!!!!

Had the 10 pound lunch deal which was excellent value for money. Included a soft drink, prawn crackers and a choice of red curry/green curry or pad Thai. Ordered some lunch tapas dishes but the portions were very disappointing. The flavour was great though. Will return

The food was absolutely lovely, the decor was also lovely which added to the experience. The staff were polite and welcoming. My only negative was that I went specifically for the lunchtime set menu deal, and you have to go out your way to ask for the deal. But other than that it was really nice.

It’s okay, there are better restaurants. Faux flowers and lights make the setting pleasant.

Had a late lunch with a friend. My first time here. It is on the corner of Harbone High Street and Albany Road. You can park on the road or park in the carpark behind Sainsbury's. Lovely bright interior, decorated with flowers. I had the sticky chicken from the taco menu with jasmine 🍚 rice. I had lychee ice cream. They were all delicious. Lovely service from the staff and nicely presented food. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other food on their menu.

Delicious food and a really nicely decorated interior but fairly expensive - for us it is special occasion only price otherwise we would visit much more often.

Amazing food, loved the decor. The only issue was getting to the toliets! So many stairs to get to the womens. Would definitely visit again. I wouldn't say it is wheelchair accessible from the front unless they have another entrance.

This is my favourite restaurant. Jess was super helpful and checked in on us to ensure everything was perfect. Food is always incredible as are the staff. Been coming here for a while now and will.be for the foreseeable future. Great place

Giggling Squid is a delight! We kicked off with Golden Bags, Veggie Spring Rolls, Giggling Chicken Wings, and Crispy Squid Bites all simply delicious. For mains, I had the Honey Crisp Seafood, my wife loved her Chicken Penang Curry, and our friend Jack raved about the Thai Green Hake. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was top notch, with super friendly and attentive staff. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return to Giggling Squid for another delicious meal!

We went there today as a family with teenagers and primary school age children and the atmosphere was calming and very family oriented. Place was clean and so pretty and its beyond what I was imagined. The service was exceptional and both ladies were very professional and similing and very very polite. I hope the company treat the staff well because they did an amazing job. The food was delicious. The desert was divine. I think we bought a bit pricy dishes so the bill was a bit high but that was on us celebrating a birthday, but next time we will go through the menu properly and we already planned on what to order next. Love the pandan cake, mango pudding and chocolate lava ❤️ cake. The crunchy squid and crackling beef was so tasty. All in all, we had a wonderful time and will be visiting them again. **** oh, I think they have parking too, we parked on the road not knowing they have parking *****

A fantastic addition to the Harborne area. We tried a variety of dishes including their zingy prawns and chicken satay. For mains we had the chicken stir fry and noodles. Food was outstanding! The restaurant is very spacious and has beautiful decor.

Came here for my anniversary dinner with my partner. The food was amazing, and the service was impeccable. The waitress Amara was particularly great - very smiley and polite. Will definitely come here again!

Beautiful restaurant, with amazing food and service

I booked a table online very quick and easy I had 2 request when I did it online. 1st was I was bringing my 3-week old son, and would they be able to add an extra chair so he could sit in his car seat at table 2nd was it was a surprise 37th birthday treat for my misses, and did they do a birthday plate Both requests were done for us. we arrived 20 mins early, and they were fine to accommodate us at this time, too Staff couldn't do enough for us always on had when needed drinks The place was really clean and tidy. I couldn't fault it Food OMG the presention and the flavour were out of this world our party of 6 all had starters mains and deserts and we couldn't find anything to complain about were spent around £51 per head and bill came to 257.00 this would normally of shocked me but for the service and food we were given I was so pleased to pay this and I even left a tip on top I even went over to thank the chefs personally for the amzing food and bday plate they had made for us didn't know if I was aloud but chefs that cook like this need the positive feed back too and the best way is to thank them is in person witch I just had to do I would really and highly recommend this place for the amazing food and standards the staff have Would like to just thank all staff and the chefs once again for the amazing time we had there. we will most definitely be returning for more

We have been here today for a meal. This is the fourth time we have visited. Every time we come we order different food from the menu. We have visited as 2 people and also as parties of several people. The size of party and how busy the restaurant is makes no difference the food is always outstanding, delicious, with beautiful flavours that make your mouth water. The service is exceptional. It really is a special meal and I am proud to take friends and family here for celebrations. Would highly recommend.

Amazing service. The lady who served me took time to explain the food and a little bit behind the food and making of it. Even some of her favourite on the menu as well. Amazing food. Again, the server was great in mentioning what goes best with what sauces and they never bother you much and leave you to enjoy the food that is in front of you. And just an amazing experience again going to a place that obviously shows love in serving and in the food they cook and serve. Do I want to leave a review? Not really, I want to really keep this place a secret to myself, but I really want to say just how good they really are here. Just awesome, thank you.

Truly one of the best Thai restaurants we have ever tried. Our minds were well and truly blown by this place. Every single aspect of this meal was perfect. We ordered the showstopper set and the giggling set. Every dish was even more flavoursome and tasty than the last. We wiped our dishes clean. I didn’t think at this price point we would be ordering such incredible food but here we are.

Lovely restaurant lovely staffs but honestly Giggling Squid isn’t Thai food! A very whitewashed version of Thai. I would NEVER visit another branch, ashamed that this is what Asian food in the UK has become and I hope British don’t compare to this the REAL Thai dishes!! A big disappointment :(

Got sent to the back of restaurant due to being Asian despite pre booking. Food was good.

We ordered street food starter to share: sticky wings, spring rolls, squid - it was really nice and I have my chubby cheek pork, it was very tender and delicious. And dessert was mango cake, I was expecting the mango is fresh mango, but it comes in baked version, not my favourite but my hubby likes that so much, and of course with his favourite vanilla ice cream. Service is good too, highly recommended!

I have been to Giggling squid quite a few times now,and the experience just gets nicer and nicer each time. I'm working my way around the menu just nicely! I sat with family last night and we had an awesome time and the service was exceptional...can't wait to return in a couple of week's!!! P.s the decor is still just as lovely and the staff so Beautiful, and I love their new uniform!💜✅💯

Was ok, dumplings were kind of bland. But the curry saved the day. No real atmosphere as we were the only ones there. Second time there but will probs looks elsewhere next time

Food was okay can't complain. However service not so much. We explicitly told them to remove the service charge yet they charged us. I called them to explain the situation. The person who received the call was so rude saying that I should have read the receipt and asked them to remove. I explained that we did tolf them they still charged us. However, she continued to keep repeating that we should have read the receipt and took no accountability at all and just speaking with such a rude tone. Never going back, can find better food and service elsewhere.

Very very disappointed. The menu looks amazing whereas it is too sweet and not authentic. We ended up leaving this restaurant and going straight to Sabai Sabai where we had an excellent meal.

Giggling Squid is great. Cocktails are very nice, food is decent, atmosphere, service and decor are lovely. It's not 100% authentic Thai and some things are too Western - the pad thai is too saucy, for example. But it's not trying to be authentic thai, so I can't really fault it. If you're looking to be whisked back to Chiang Mai, you won't be. But if you want some tasty food and drinks in a lovely place, head to Giggling Squid.

Special birthday dinner - the staff were fantastic, allowing me to drop off balloons in the afternoon and they chose a table for us with a great floral background for photos. Service was a bit slow as it was a busy Saturday night with a full restaurant, staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. They surprised the birthday girl with a dessert with candles and a rendition of happy birthday which was unexpected and much appreciated. Would highly recommend for a celebration meal.

This is by far my most favourite restaurant, even if they have removed the phuket mussels off the menu 😆. We have visited multiple times and everytime the food has been exceptional. We create our own thai tapas here and skip the mains. We order the street food sharer along with other starters including the samuai prawns, which are just full of flavour and cooked to perfection. We must look really greedy as our table is usually full of food, but ordering lots of different starters makes it such an enjoyable experience. One of my favourites is the salt and pepper squid. I've never had squid cooked so perfectly. The staff are always attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant itself is clean and kept clean as the night goes on. There hasn't been a time where our meal was just mediocre, it always to a high standard and cooked to perfection. I will not go anywhere else for thai food as this really is the best place. If I had the money I would be there every week.

Sheer bliss. This is the prettiest place to have a meal, and the food is delicious. The calamari starter is a must, and it's a large starter. The curry with jasmine rice was excellent, too. Bought some takeaway for my kids. The takeaway meal was packaged in pretty boxes in a lovely printed bag. The attention to detail is impressive. The staff were friendly and, best of all, they didn't hover and continuously interrupt. Definitely have dinner here. You won't be disappointed

5 stars for the lovely waitress Best, who made our night with her quite frankly unbelievable service! Even with our food coming out late and being average, she just made the experience for us. Do everything to keep her!

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with the customer service at the restaurant received by Jessica. My order was mixed up, due to errors from both the restaurant and Deliveroo. When I called the restaurant to report the issue, Jessica was exceedingly rude and unkind over the phone. She didn't allow me to speak, spoke at me, and made me feel insignificant by mentioning she had over 250 orders, invalidating my experience. Due to this terrible customer service, I will never use this restaurant again.

I expected the take out to be like the dining in quality it was completely different if I was sat dining in I would of sent it back the chicken in my dish I ordered today was completely dry to the it was chewy I know it isn’t the usual quality as I’ve dined in many times. I hope quality control for takeout improves

Pretty place, disappointing food. They didn't have my first choice of salmon bites (even though Waitrose over the road was still open), and the duck spring rolls I ended up with were pretty poor mush. The small amount of main course hake disappeared amongst an overbearing sauce and cheap veg. My friends' soft shelled prawns were not soft shelled, and he picked shell out of his mouth for quite a while. Prawn crackers were nearly £8.00! Not recommended.

Update from today's visit 2nd February 2024. We visited Giggling squid Harborne more than a few times since the opening back in 2021. Always enjoyed the food and service in fact we celebrated my birthday in the past and received acknowledgement and a little cake from the staff. However today despite informing the restaurant that this wss a special birthday lunch, it was disappointing to find that there was no birthday acknowledgement or any little cake which we found very disappointing as it is this kind of attention to details which makes restaurant stand out from the competition. No longer special venue for special celebration hence the overall low score. Excellent Evening, Delicious Food. Great Service by Chai and Sam
