Gi Gi Italian Restaurant & Takeaway in East Lindsey

Sunday carvery. It is only possible to review if you compare with other Sunday carvery's. This is a restaurant so that needs to be taken into account when compareing it with pub carvery's. Things I noted. It took a short time for someone to take a drinks order and explain the format to us. The plates were cold and so the food went cold or colder very quickly. The meat was sparse and cut very thinnly. We were given 1 carrot, this surprised me. A small amout of I think he said "cauliflower cheese" was also added to the cold plate. Not a sufficient amount to have an opinion on. The other vegatables you serve yourself. The gravey was nice and hot and it helped because all the food needed to be hotter. We watched the chef cut a cake for a party sitting near us. He served that with a tin of squirty cream. That again surprised me that a restaurant would do that.The waiting staff came to clear plates and asked if everything was alright? I told them the food could have been hotter and he did not seem to know what to say to me. I think we expected more because it is a restaurant and not a pub, perhaps that expectation was too high? It was ok but compared to other Sunday carvery's it was by far not the best.

Amazing top quality chef who couldn't do more for you the food and service is incredible and really does trump the big name Italians and it's in a village wow go GIGi. THEY even do Carvery on Sundays.

Absolutely excellent, the food, atmosphere and service I can not fault anything. The portion sizes are huge, the staff are very attentive and the service was brill. I can not think of 1 bad thing to say. Highly recommend

I'm a little late in putting this review on because I don't like to complain normally but hearing others doing so, I thought it was only fair. I also think that some other reviewers haven't ate at a good Italian restaurant or they wouldn't be leaving some of these reviews. I went to this place for my wife's birthday and when arrived we were only the third table seated. We only ordered main courses, a cod dish and a simple chicken pasta dish. We waited 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 40 minutes but no food. A waitress did come to us and apologies for the wait and then just after 50 minutes our meal came. The quality was only average and my wifes fish was a little dry. At this stage there were only around half a dozen tables being waited on so it seemed strange that we had such a wait. We would have re-visited at some stage and given it another try but as we were leaving a couple waiting asked us how it was. All we said was that it was okay if you don't mind the wait. At this point the owner / chef stormed towards us accusing us of dissing his restaurant and food. He was totally out of order with his aggression and attitude. We mearly stated that the couple had asked how it was and after things calmed down we left. Obviously NEVER to return. Anyone wanting a good quality of authentic Italian food and service should try Montebello's in Louth or the other one further down the road ll Padrino. Yes you have to drive but it's worth it.

Can not recommend this place enough! The atmosphere is so cute, the front of house staff are all amazing, Ash is especially awesome! He knows his stuff 😁 Both Caroline and Jodie are also beyond friendly while being completely professional. The Chef is beyond talented, his food is cooked to Perfection and presented like a work of art. The wine is stunning, both red and white choices are classy and tasteful. We will be returning on a regular basis without a doubt !

My favourite place to eat, always recommend to people, we had carvery here for the first time today and was amazing! We will definitely be back again soon

Fantastic Italian food, delicious pizza and pasta dishes and great cocktails. A table of 10 on a busy night we were a bit of a challenge to the kitchen but they coped admirably. The table staff worked hard to manage a chatty family get together and thought possibly still learning they did a grand job. Thanks for a great night xxx

Booked for 6.30, but food didn’t arrive until 7.45. Booking system definitely needs sorting, however we were told they prioritise the takeaway special night! Food was good when it finally arrived.

I can't recommend Gigi's highly enough it is an undiscovered jewel in the area. A little piece of Italy hidden in North Somercotes. Authentic Italian cuisine, definitely top marks, excellent service and the best meal I have had in a long time. We will be back.

Cannot tell you enough how you shouldn’t go here. The owner is a creep and the food is awful. Save your money and go somewhere else - cannot emphasise this enough.
