Easy to find plenty of parking…. However! On arrival told no more hangers for coats so “just leave it on the floor” Waiting longtime for food was fine as venue was full (carvery) so to be expected. Sadly I had cold veg - no vegetarian gravy- (Christmas dinner I had pre ordered Nut roast). I informed member of staff who bellowed ‘another vegetarian’ to a team member who came over with a wet dollop of something and slapped it on my plate. Potato’s were hot and crispy. My colleague had burnt veggie dollop still in tin foil case placed on her plate. Turned out it was a hot as in spicy but cold in heat, curry nut dollop! So I had curry and roast potatoes with cold veg The entertainment started off spectacularly with a lady singer taking requests, people dancing and having great time. Hats off to her because what came next was unreal. Takes a lot to offend me but the next three acts were rude, abusive and honestly not funny on any level. The first two seemed only to have stories of their own sexual encounters and presumed people would relate to them and find them funny. I can’t say I was offended by the things that they were saying it was cringe worthy. It left me questioning if the owners of this venue had been to see their acts before booking them? The room stopped listening at which point each rather than change the act after reading the room, went on to blame the audience! Real shame as one good comedian would have been great! What we got was three people who were very poor performers who think they are funny because the swear a lot and try to shock the audience. DJ then took over thank goodness and did a really good job of reading the room playing the right music to keep people on the dance floor. My feelings are mixed about his venue and I hope they are able to improve. Basically More hangers please and one good comedian added to the two very good entertainers. Hot food and please improve the nut roast( preferably not hot curry dollop) and vegetable gravy would be nice! Thanks

We were at GG's for the festive Comedy Evening last night with friends. The Acts were great, Simon Evans one of the best. For on mass cooking, the food was passable and on the whole, enjoyable. Staff were mostly friendly. Two main complaints. 1/ Venue was freezing cold all evening, so much so that even the acts made jokes about it. If you want people to enjoy their evening, don't freeze them! 2/ Drink prices were extortionate, you expected a bit of a mark up but this was to much. As soon as Simon Evans finished, we and many others left, it was just to cold! Only difference from sitting outside is we were dry.

Horrendous experience. Staff treat you like you have disturbed them from using their phones when you arrive. Waiting forever for sub standard food. Such a shame as it could be a great venue.

This is AMAZING! The lovely chef stayed open for me and my parents as they were going to close the kitchen to prepare for the dinner. I can’t thank the staff enough as this was probably the best meal we’ve had in our holiday to the Isle of Wight! The food was absolute divine. The pizzas were lovely. Mum enjoyed her garlic chicken and the dough balls are genuinely the best dough balls I’ve ever had!! You guys are incredible!! 🫶🏼

We booked for sunday lunch as we had taken our grandson to the bouncy castle event in the morning. We had previously had lunch here and it wasnt great but wanted to give them another chance. It was awful. Massive wait even though there was only one other table eating. Veg watery and cold. Had run out of roast potatoes ( 1pm??) Propbaly the worst expensive lunch we have had. Gentleman running around doing everything was very pleasant and helpful but food was terrible. We couldnt reccomend this place to anyone. Such a shame as has huge potential.

We booked for Sunday roast for 1pm.. Roasts were open from Midday until 3pm... We took family for a luxury meal as 1 yr previously it was a luxurious atmosphere and great food. Today however 7th April 2024 they was severely understaffed, had a massive function with multitudes of people and children, loud beating music, all doors left open, atmosphere was hell. The food was carvery and inline with the open doors to outside meaning it never remained hot! We went to the bar ordered our 4 roasts and drinks, went to sit down as told they will bring our plates with meat of choice to the table, then we can go backup to the carvery for the help yourself part. The Roast beef was chunks of gristle and fat, unable to cut it or chew it. Mint sauce was empty and we had to request more for those having lamb.. The cauliflower cheese was watery, didn't taste cheesy, stalk were rock hard as ere the broccoli stalks. Peas, carrots, sweetcorn looked diabolical and not fresh, we didn't have those! The cabbage was white and soggy, (coleslaw cabbage). Yorkshires were Great! The restaurant for carvery was not busy. But the function room full of family and children on bouncy castles and other play things was hectic and way to loud with added LOUD thumping music and screaming kids, very inconsiderate NOT to shut the doors for those arriving for sunday lunch. There Were NO Roast potatoes left, don't forget it was only 1pm, 1 hr into the carvery.. The bar guy taking orders panicked and came back to us to say more roasties were being prepared, it wont be long! We saw the roast potatoes arrive as the serving table, he offered them to the people who had just paid and arrived and forgot to inform us OUR potatoes were now ready, We took a look and they were almost black, most likely deep fried from frozen. I informed the guy taking orders that this was the absolute worse meal out we had ever encountered and it just wasn't acceptable, we were embarrassed having invited relatives for dinner with us. After complaining i was not offered any kind of compensation or freebie or sweet or even a drink. I left when i relayed this all to my daughter she went back inside and the guy said he could do nothing about this as the manager was out. (Most staff in most places know what to do inthis kind of situation surely)! - I will never go there again and i would never recommend. I total disgrace from start to finish.. The response was well we are very busy in the function room, ermmmm so why was the restaurant understaffed and the function room.. We were not informed when booking that there would be a function insitu. Keep away peeps! very disappointing the only nice thing was the Yorkshire puds.

Went for Sunday 'carvery', it was definitely an experience but sadly not a good one. Firstly the service was fine, no issues with that, but the food was poor quality & not good value at all. It isnt really a carvery, your meat, potatoes, gravy is plated and the other stuff is put on the table for you put on your plates. For £14.95 I would at least expect home made roast potatoes, but sadly they were Aunt Bessies or maybe own brand and it didn't stop there. The vegetables (peas, sweetcorn, spinach, red cabbage and broccoli) were obviously frozen, they were soggy, my niece, who loves broccoli refused to eat it as it was so watery, and the bowl the veg was served in had a puddle of water at the bottom. The cauliflower & leek cheese seemed to be homemade and was ok, but it was served with a big inedible burnt bit that could have just been removed before serving?! The stuffing was a sage & onion mix and the beef was very dry, I managed to eat some of it but my son, who loves roast beef said it was to dry to eat. The turkey & nut roast were fine, as were the parsnips. There were Yorkshire puddings that seemed to be homemade but they were under cooked and very stodgy, maybe some like them that way?! There are so many nice places on the island to get a homemade roast dinner, if that's what you are after then I wouldn't recommend this place, especially not at £14.95! I don't like leaving a poor review but if I had known the standard of food offered at this 'carvery' I would not have gone. It wouldn't take much to improve, but at present is very over priced considering most of it is frozen.

Great to spend a Sunday Morning taking the kids for a Pony Ride next door then stopping here for breakfast after. The breakfast was by far the best I’ve had on the island, I think the other review is a little unfair as £1.50 for a hot or cold drink is not much, most places charge £3 - £4 for a latte! Service was great and the whole place including the toilets were exceptionally clean and tidy, very lovely decor. We will most definitely be returning again! Keep up the good work guy’s and gals and take no notice of the haters 😁

We have been to GG’s twice now first time they had no burgers blaming drivers & this time they only had a chicken burger. The sweet potatoes fries where soggy, we paid for lunch with Tiramisu puddings. The pan cotta was not set runny and vile, Then they placed cheesecakes in front of us and she said she has no Tiramisu so we brought you cheese cakes instead. We told her we don’t eat cheesecake and she got the huff. The place is not clean and smells. Don’t waste your money on this unclean smelly place and food is disgusting!

We've been here many times. It's conveniently located and usually very reliable in terms of food and service. This time it was a disaster. Saturday night and staff pretty much equalled the number of customers (4 tables). Despite this, service was lacklustre and seemed to be a side distraction from whatever else the waiters were doing. 3 pizzas and one pasta dish arrived but all 4 were lukewarm. The pasta was almost cold so was sent back once we managed to get a waiters attention again. We were so disappointed we made a point in saying afterwards it really wasn't good enough and at that point had one dish deducted from the bill. This isn't the point of course, you go out to eat and enjoy your meal, not to have a discount. We felt the place was sadly neglected and staff totally disinterested. Very sad for a chain that has always been so good in the past.

Friendly warm welcome. We both had pasta dishes which were delicious and freshly made plus a shared and very generous starter of crab and salmon bruschetta. We would definitely recommend eating here.

Wow, what a find, a great family run Italian in Old Town Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, near to our lovely hotel Victoria Lodge. The food was amazing, freshly cooked. Mum had chicken with aubergine and I had lamb with an amazing mint sauce, served with fresh vegetables perfectly cooked. We were also so well looked after front of house by Summer. Thank you Amici for a lovely meal, we will be back.
