Lucky Llangollen to have this bakery - the best seeded loaf around. Can also recommend the white tin loaf and the takeaway sausage buns. Friendly service with a smile.

Disappointed overall and service was slow. Would suggest, if you are not staying there, go to the Crowne Plaza which is a little further along.

Hubby and me popped in here yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) for a sweet snack. The shop is situated behind the statue in the square. The lady serving behind the counter was pleasantly helpful. There was only 1 small egg custard tart left (£1.08) so I chose that. Hubby wanted the large Danish pastry (£1.35). He was able to pay for them both (£2.43) by card/contactless. The savoury pies/pasties smelled good. We ate the cakes in the park around the corner. My fresh custard tart did not have a soggy bottom and went down a treat! Hubby enjoyed his delicious Danish pastry. However, I thought they were both over-priced. Printed on the back of the bakery's paper bag was a short history of the family business which has been going for over 180 years. It said that all its products were hand-crafted and made with local ingredients so I suppose this is why their prices are dearer than the norm.

We were the only diners, apart from a large coach party of pensioners. There had been a self serve carvery set up for them, which gave the impression of a budget meal option. We were seated at the edge of the room and felt like intruders. The menu choice was not very extensive and there was no set menu option. The scallop starter was 3 scallops for just under £10. The veggie risotto was over cooked and stodgy - i suspect it was from the freezer. My plaice was meant to be pan fried but it was under cooked and showed no signs of any taste that pan frying would have given. The skin would not separate from the flesh as it had not been cooked enough and was soggy. The waitress made a complete mesh of filleting it for me - i ended up with a untidy and unappealing pile of fish which i couldn't eat as i couldn't separate the skin. The fish was cold by the time i ate it. The sauce served with the fish was disgusting. For a four star hotel this was all unacceptable. We should have had a bar meal - those looked much more appealing and there was a wide range. (The bar served great cocktails too.)We were staying over at the hotel whilst visiting family so eating in seemed the best choice but, whilst we would stay at the hotel again, we would not contemplate eating in this restaurant again.

I have visited this shop a couple of times in the last week and I find it very expensive! From the hot pastries to the cakes all expensive! The cakes are nice but definitely not worth the price. I find sometimes that the hot pastries are also over cooked.

sadly this is one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever encountered, the waitress had no knowledge, the food was very poor, the wine was ok, the coffee disgusting, we won't be eating here again. We have dined here in the past and had a good experience, it has obviously gone down hill.

Called in here for a quick lunch to grab on the go for a family of 4. Found that the choice of pies and pasties was outstanding and it made the choice very hard. We all found something to eat and drink at a very good price, we would all recommend this shop. I would also like to say thank you to the lady in the shop for nothing more than great service with a smile.

Rhubarb and custard tart to die for. If they had a branch in Durham I would order them every week. Worth stopping in Corwen for this alone. The cream scone was not too shabby either !!

The wholemeal bread is chunky and wholesome and the large white bread is so large it is difficult to fit in the bag. The yum-yums are a tasty sweet treat and all the pies are good.

The staff at this Gerrard's seem completely incapable of giving you the correct change. I have been in once and been short changed by £1. My father has been in twice and has been short changed by £1 each time, both times by different women. Each time we have called them out on it, I didn't get an apology I was actually made to feel like I was the one in the wrong for pointing it out!!? I understand that mistakes happen but I feel it has happened to frequently for it to be an honest mistake and that its a deliberate attempt to make a few quid on the side. Won't be shopping here again

A beautiful day, in the company of a good friend whose birthday it was and you can imagine how much I was looking forward to a celebratory lunch at this four star hotel set in lovely grounds. Well what a let down! No atmosphere and only a few guests at a conference for background ambience and you can see how flat it all was. The food was barely adequate...overcooked chicken , fish with little added interest except some salad which looked suspiciously out of a packet from a well known food market nearby. The waitress was most attentive, almost overly so and although I had mentioned that it was a celebratory lunch this was not acknowledged in any way. Just awful..

What a disappointment. Sunday Lunch with jazz was very poor both in service, food and value. Plenty of staff but none of whom seemed to have had any training and showed no interest in there customers, in fact they were very unmotivated. The Restaurant was cold due to the AC on in February, we were told it could not be altered!?! The food was only just average with bought in frozen starters and desserts and poor choice. The Sunday Lunch carvery was Ok although the roast potatoes had not seen any oven but a deep fat frier! A 10% service charge was added to the bill making the whole experience very expensive for what we received. I honestly believe the Toby Carvery down the road is 100% better quality

Despite having received e-mail confirmation of my booking through Toptable, restaurant staff could find no trace of it. The other big disappointment was that although I had booked for lunch in a prestigious establishment, all they could offer was the bar menu. The "pub grub" we had was very good of its kind but the choice was limited and not what was expected from a restaurant with a long-standing reputation.

Visit here often as go shopping in nearby aldi. In the beginning when it opened it was brilliant and staff so attentive. Over time it’s got progressively worse and this morning it was at a low. Waited over 5 minutes to be served as member of staff was cooking for other customers and then was quite rude to be honest. I asked about rewards against cups and she said it was on limited ones. No markings on merchandise to say what was allowed. In Starbucks EB Bodelwyddan they are all marked and staff are so friendly. Tables hadn’t been cleared and it took three different staff to make our drinks. So disappointing. Just returned from New York our staff in the UK need to take a lesson from Them.
