German Doner Kebab in Cardiff

Took an hour and half, never gonna order again. And the order was wrong.

Food was nice but there was a very long wait as it took nearly an hour+ for our food

No wonder those locals going out of business. Absolutely terrible service ignorant unhappy staff on the phone open place but food not ready to be served waited 40 min for the meat to be ready and Kebab with cold meat and very little to no sauce in it dry ! plus you get one sauce with the meal . Bought 2 extra sauces which are tiny anyway Absolutely joke 16£ for a horrible meal made by guy who never probably even ate German kebab in his life . I used to get my husband to get me take away and bringing to Swansea few times each time was dry soo he was buying extra sauces which they forgot couple of time and was horrible soo I never wanted again but we gave another try and We came all the way from Swansea for another disappointing meal . Never ever again stay away . Also the smell of sweat from the Asian lady at the till was unbearable working in hospitality should have some type of standards of hygiene

Around 5pm not busy at all - Rude staff lady on till face like a slapped arse so moody no customer service first she brought out the wrong food then there was a hair in the sauce. She just chucked it all away no apology just asked us to leave a number for the manager. Won’t be visiting again for a while.

Worst service ever! Ordered X2 Boss box OG KEBAB meals paid £40 with vat and delivery Specifically stated on one of the meals no salad I actually used the option to remove all salad individually off the order selection aswell as sauce which is shown on the receipt I had attached to the box yet GDK and there obviously incompetent staff have added all the finely chopped concoction of salads and sauces to the kebab. The overall meal arrived stone cold freezing and the chip portion in each bag was around 7 chips!!! Waste of money arrives cold and unable to follow clear instructions when it comes to dietary requirements. Called the store to let them know of the mess up to be told someone would call me back it's been an hour since that call and no return call or apology or offer to fix this mess Extremely disatisfied with our service & experience

The driver went to the wrong address, I was telephoned to ask if I had my food and I explainned I have been tracking the driver. When he arrived 45 minutes later the food was stone cold. This is the secomd time this has happened

I ordered a mixed meat boss box via deliveroo and omg seriously good. I've not had a kebab in over a decade and this was delicious. Good helping of meat, sauces and salads. The chips were nice and the spring rolls were also crisp and hot. Will definitly be getting again when I next stay in cardiff.

It is frustrating when a restaurant with an empty dining area asks you to wait an hour for your order, especially when they are prioritizing takeaway orders over in-house customers. This is a signal of poor management, customers should not have to wait longer than those who are ordering food to-go. I left the restaurant without ordering and definitely won't be back.

portion sizes with mega and the food was all right but it arrived called. I just expected more for the money

I visited there this evening and was served by a very rude lady I asked a question about the menu She barked at me to look at electronic screen Ok I get that I said ok no problem thank you I am a very polite women and like to be respectful and polite to every human I come in contact with When ordering as I wanted to pay cash so could not us electronic screen The cashier was rude had no customer service skills with me I pointed this out Just stating that manners don’t cost anything and she should practice this sometimes But I had noticed she was happy speaking in Arabic to her friends at the shop And was polite to the 2 gentleman who were also Asian When called to get my food from the lady she said Bye !!!!! To which I replied Salam sister I am also a Muslim and noticed the lady head scarf I was the only white Welsh women in the shop And was made to feel uncomfortable My husband is also Turkish and he commented how rude the women working was towards me I will never shop at this German kebab shop again And I do have this interaction on a recording As I was shocked It did feel like this was racial motivated And that I was treated differently Never again

i’m really disappointed with my food it came freezing cold sauces spilt everywhere paid extra for extra meat in the wrap and it was the exact same as my partners would not recommend

The worst place you can get food from on city road. Really small portions... Complete rip-off. Way better kebab in other places.. why go there when there's kbs down the road where they give much more than this place.... Like they literally just put a few kebab pieces in your box but hey if thats what you want to pay for then go ahead... This has got to be the worst place you can get food from on city road

Unprofessional staff rude behaviour can't even read order properly took 35 minutes to serve inshore order only focused on delivery avoide this place is full of jokers never ever recommended if you want to waste your money and treated like dog then yes this is the place

Food was late and didn’t want it by the time it arrived

food was good but very cold, our hashbrowns were ice cold in the middle. they changed the time to be delivered an hour late which was disappointing because we ordered for it to be delivered for a specific time in advance.

Acabo de quejarme ya que pedí a través de deliveryoo 2 x og con carne extra. Recibí 2 porciones de tamaño normal. La comida es cara, pero la calidad de la comida es alta. Ten cuidado solo porque pagues extra por carne extra no significa que la tendrás. Así que no quiero que estafen a otras personas. Es una pena porque la comida es buena. Simplemente ordene la porción normal y ahorre su dinero

We are Regular customers of GDK Cardiff, we really enjoy the Doner wraps and original donners. Freshness and quality is great, just the sauce provided with the order should be reflective of the order size. 5 full donners should have at least 5 sauce pots included.

Food was freezing and the driver did not have our food in a insulated bag. I doubt it was ever put in one as it was freezing. Such a shame as this place is normally good. Won’t be using again now. Won’t use just eat either.

Made no attempt to deliver the food but still refused a refund. £50 wasted. Driver just sat down the road didn't knock on the door, didn't call us, didn't even leave the food at the door but apparently sitting silently down the road and coming nowhere near the house is considered a delivery attempt.

Charged over £50 of food that wasn't delivered. Got told the driver followed policy but not sure what that was as there was no phone call or knock at the door, food not even left outside. The front door is right by where we were sat, phone was on, got a text message saying delivery cancelled. No excuse, no answer direct either when we rang completely useless, refusing to refund.

Placed an order but failed to deliver due to driver not calling or knocking on the door.... shocking service! Don't order from these unless you want to get your money taken

As a German, I can only recommend the kebab, it tastes very good, but the portion could be a little larger :) Just been there and it was really great... English people can't actually make decent kebabs but everything here is great

From the takeaway to my home was really quick but the food was cold. Probably because the delivery riders bag was already open when he got here. Food quality was was ok once I had warmed it up in the microwave, but not much there for the money. spent.

Been a while since I've been, ordered on one of the self service tills which I didn't see before. Order came quite quickly, food was ok a bit Greasy. Also noticed you have to pay for the sauce tubs which they used included before and drinks are cans instead of the glass bottles. To be honest a bit overpriced now nearly £30 for two.

Loved this place just had a delivery it's smaller than a child's size mixed boxed kebab three strands of lamb a a tablespoon portion of chicken I won't be buying from here again

Comí algo para llevar esta noche y no volveré. Tenía la caja del gimnasio y estaba vacía cuando llegó. Caja de gimnasio por nombre y por naturaleza. No hay posibilidad de que engordes en la cantidad que ponen en la caja. No sabía si ese era el tamaño correcto de la porción o si estaban tomando los p**s. El único factor redentor fue el sabor, pero eso no me traerá de vuelta. Probablemente ahora reciba una respuesta de wishy washy agradeciéndome por la reseña, pero diría que reconocer mi reseña no va a mejorar su calificación general de 3 estrellas. Te está diciendo que eres pobre y estás fracasando.

Update. Still no refund given and no update about what the delay is, no apologies nothing. Another email sent to head office. Waiting to hear back again. Beware when using the self service machine. You may think the glitch cancels your order but it takes your money and doesn't confirm your order. It took seconds to take my money, so far it has taken nearly 2 months consisting of 3 visits, 15 phone calls (only picked up the call 4 times) and 5 emails to head office. And STILL NO REFUND. Avoid this franchise, because it could end up costing you more than you think. I have been a customer since they opened. After this experience I won't be back.

Twice, i have tried his place, and twice the food has arrived cold. Who stacked cold cans of coke on top of hot food it just doesn't work, And as for your reply, I have contacted you twice and haven't received any reply from you.

It was not the fault of the delivery folks, some apps send to Clifton Street. Sorry I was annoyed with the delivery guys, no intent meant, it's just a problem with some map apps. All good, take care.

Honestly the best kebab I think we’ve had!

ordered from here online for years and never had a bad experience, decided to go in one day as it was quicker to get, got looked at weird by staff instantly and the atmosphere was not good at all, was told after ordering and paying there’d be a 45 minute wait and when I said sorry I can’t wait that long can I just get a refund (bare in mind I’d literally just ordered so it’s not like they’d began making it) the person who was serving checked with the cook who gave us a dirty look and started being rude to the server and clearly angry, refused us a refund and then said they’d rush it and ended up getting it done within 5 minutes, the portion size was terrible compared to how it normally is and the attitude of the staff was terrible. This experience has put me off even ordering from here again, after meeting the people behind the food i don’t want to be funding somewhere where the staff clearly aren’t happy for whatever reason and have little to no people skills.

Called in as I was looking for a tasty snack. Saw the advert for a cheese and garlic sandwich which looked amazing. When I took it to the car and checked it out it was nothing lick the picture. So I took it back fare play they did change it. But the second one was not much better.

Ordered vegan kebab on Uber eats, they’ve sent real chicken, when calling the restaurant we were told to taste the meat to ensure it’s definitely chicken because their vegan option is very close to the real thing (nobody’s vegan alternative is that convincing) it stinks, it is definitely meat and we’ve been accused of not being able to tell the difference, we were then told if we want a replacement, we have to place a new order and pay the delivery fee again. We are now having to try to get a refund through Uber eats because of the incompetence of the restaurant and now have no time to order a new meal before work.

food not as ordered. employees of Asian origin mock the customer in their own language. when filing a grievance, the employee claims that he is not responsible for the performance of his work. Absolute lack of respect for the customer. I advise against it with all responsibility.

Needs to be a service you call the restaurant instead of it looping to a automated phone line with just eat that just cut you off

Pedí una entrega esta noche de GDK y recibí pollo crudo en mi kebab mixto OG. Estoy tan decepcionado y disgustado por esto. La higiene y la seguridad de los alimentos deben estar a la vanguardia de todos los establecimientos alimentarios y la carne cruda no debe servirse nunca. Desafortunadamente, ya había comido un poco de kebab antes de notar el pollo crudo y ahora estoy muy preocupado de que pueda enfermarme como resultado. Ordered kebabs a few times and we love it from here but ordered cheesy chips for the first time tonight and very disappointed! LARGE cheesy chips which are actually the smallest non cheesiest portion I've ever had? Not happy at all as ordered two portions thinking they were actually going to be large £8 for chips the same size as mcdonalds medium fries!!

Hello, from the beginning of your opening, I praised your kebab very much. My husband and I often ordered home delivery and it tasted very delicious and there was really a lot of meat, especially since I always took an extra helping of meat for which I paid extra. But the last two orders were not as good as the previous ones, especially since I pay quite a lot of money - almost 30 pounds with delivery - but I definitely have to praise them for how they are packed in beautiful packaging, for which I give them 10 points, but when it comes to quality, the longer you stay on TOP this makes you worse. Please, guys, keep it as you did deliciously and a lot at the beginning and don't look for savings, and we will definitely visit you again with our friends. PS. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE MY OPINION LIKE LAST. 😊

Far too fancy for a kebab stall

I like the food but can only give 3 stars because of how often the food runs out and I cannot order. Today no chicken 1hr30 before closing. The other week I went to order and there were no meats 1hr before closing so I had to go somewhere else. What is the point of even being open?
