Food is great, portions too small. Staff taking too long to serve.

Kids waited over an hour for our order to be cancelled.

Made no attempt to deliver the food but still refused a refund. £50 wasted. Driver just sat down the road didn't knock on the door, didn't call us, didn't even leave the food at the door but apparently sitting silently down the road and coming nowhere near the house is considered a delivery attempt.

Charged over £50 of food that wasn't delivered. Got told the driver followed policy but not sure what that was as there was no phone call or knock at the door, food not even left outside. The front door is right by where we were sat, phone was on, got a text message saying delivery cancelled. No excuse, no answer direct either when we rang completely useless, refusing to refund.

Placed an order but failed to deliver due to driver not calling or knocking on the door.... shocking service! Don't order from these unless you want to get your money taken

As a German, I can only recommend the kebab, it tastes very good, but the portion could be a little larger :) Just been there and it was really great... English people can't actually make decent kebabs but everything here is great

Worst portions very little, greasy! Never again

Been a while since I've been, ordered on one of the self service tills which I didn't see before. Order came quite quickly, food was ok a bit Greasy. Also noticed you have to pay for the sauce tubs which they used included before and drinks are cans instead of the glass bottles. To be honest a bit overpriced now nearly £30 for two.

Loved this place just had a delivery it's smaller than a child's size mixed boxed kebab three strands of lamb a a tablespoon portion of chicken I won't be buying from here again

Update. Still no refund given and no update about what the delay is, no apologies nothing. Another email sent to head office. Waiting to hear back again. Beware when using the self service machine. You may think the glitch cancels your order but it takes your money and doesn't confirm your order. It took seconds to take my money, so far it has taken nearly 2 months consisting of 3 visits, 15 phone calls (only picked up the call 4 times) and 5 emails to head office. And STILL NO REFUND. Avoid this franchise, because it could end up costing you more than you think. I have been a customer since they opened. After this experience I won't be back.

Nice food but takes ages for a fast food restaurant

You would have to wait over 25 minutes just to get your food even when it’s not busy and i paid nearly £10 for this chicken. Absolutely RIP off, would never go again

Twice, i have tried his place, and twice the food has arrived cold. Who stacked cold cans of coke on top of hot food it just doesn't work, And as for your reply, I have contacted you twice and haven't received any reply from you.

It was not the fault of the delivery folks, some apps send to Clifton Street. Sorry I was annoyed with the delivery guys, no intent meant, it's just a problem with some map apps. All good, take care.

Honestly the best kebab I think we’ve had!

Food cooled down a bit, but otherwise very good

ordered from here online for years and never had a bad experience, decided to go in one day as it was quicker to get, got looked at weird by staff instantly and the atmosphere was not good at all, was told after ordering and paying there’d be a 45 minute wait and when I said sorry I can’t wait that long can I just get a refund (bare in mind I’d literally just ordered so it’s not like they’d began making it) the person who was serving checked with the cook who gave us a dirty look and started being rude to the server and clearly angry, refused us a refund and then said they’d rush it and ended up getting it done within 5 minutes, the portion size was terrible compared to how it normally is and the attitude of the staff was terrible. This experience has put me off even ordering from here again, after meeting the people behind the food i don’t want to be funding somewhere where the staff clearly aren’t happy for whatever reason and have little to no people skills.

Called in as I was looking for a tasty snack. Saw the advert for a cheese and garlic sandwich which looked amazing. When I took it to the car and checked it out it was nothing lick the picture. So I took it back fare play they did change it. But the second one was not much better.

Ordered vegan kebab on Uber eats, they’ve sent real chicken, when calling the restaurant we were told to taste the meat to ensure it’s definitely chicken because their vegan option is very close to the real thing (nobody’s vegan alternative is that convincing) it stinks, it is definitely meat and we’ve been accused of not being able to tell the difference, we were then told if we want a replacement, we have to place a new order and pay the delivery fee again. We are now having to try to get a refund through Uber eats because of the incompetence of the restaurant and now have no time to order a new meal before work.

My main was missing from my order all I received was the fries and not the diner box with fries

First time using the app, and was waiting outside for delivery. Food never showed and app told me the food is delivered. So... I have less money, I am still hungry and they asked me to do a review. Choose Uber eat or anyone else then these guys!!!

Needs to be a service you call the restaurant instead of it looping to a automated phone line with just eat that just cut you off

food not as ordered. employees of Asian origin mock the customer in their own language. when filing a grievance, the employee claims that he is not responsible for the performance of his work. Absolute lack of respect for the customer. I advise against it with all responsibility.

Me and my girlfriend went here after getting recommend it the food came quick the meat was really nice the chicken meat was really nice and juicy and the flaming fries really nice would 100% recommend, only reason for not 5star is just the location really bad smell (nothing to do with restaurant) but 100% will go again

Ordered kebabs a few times and we love it from here but ordered cheesy chips for the first time tonight and very disappointed! LARGE cheesy chips which are actually the smallest non cheesiest portion I've ever had? Not happy at all as ordered two portions thinking they were actually going to be large £8 for chips the same size as mcdonalds medium fries!!

Hello, from the beginning of your opening, I praised your kebab very much. My husband and I often ordered home delivery and it tasted very delicious and there was really a lot of meat, especially since I always took an extra helping of meat for which I paid extra. But the last two orders were not as good as the previous ones, especially since I pay quite a lot of money - almost 30 pounds with delivery - but I definitely have to praise them for how they are packed in beautiful packaging, for which I give them 10 points, but when it comes to quality, the longer you stay on TOP this makes you worse. Please, guys, keep it as you did deliciously and a lot at the beginning and don't look for savings, and we will definitely visit you again with our friends. PS. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE MY OPINION LIKE LAST. 😊

Far too fancy for a kebab stall

I like the food but can only give 3 stars because of how often the food runs out and I cannot order. Today no chicken 1hr30 before closing. The other week I went to order and there were no meats 1hr before closing so I had to go somewhere else. What is the point of even being open?

I am very disappointed with the services of GDK. I had 2 bad experiences with them. First one was dine in when I cancelled my order straight away because i made the weong order. They told me that the amount will be refunded in my account in the coming week. But it was not refunded even after 10 phone calls. I had to contact the head office. Even they said they’re doing investigations but unfortunately no response. We were a big group so the amount was not even small. Very disappointing. Wanted to leave the review then but i let that go untill it happened again. I ordered in the app to pickup in store. Again half of the order was missing. When contacted them so many times even by visiting the store in Cardiff itself yet no response.

Extremely greasy, regret eating it afterwards. As for the atmosphere, when you’re paying £10+ for a kebab you’d expect decent clean tables and seats..

Very disappointed with the food quality

Very impressed with the food. First time i ever tried a kebab at this venue. We did feel the service was lacklustre. The lady who served us had no personality and was almost robotic in her interaction with us. Better customer service needed- friendly warmth and enthusiasm with customers would greatly help this branch on City Rd. Otherwise, the food was delicious and i'm really not a fan of kebab usually.

Never had an issue with the order however this time the Doner gym box was missing and the portion were smaller compare to previous orders. I was always happy with my order in the past but was a little disappointed this time.

The best customers service ever

The food delivered was warm, rather than hot. Of course the taste was still good, but it might have lost something in the 20 minutes the driver was "waiting at the restaurant".

I came to eat a kenab and I received bad service and there was nothing in the kebab I reckamei wue there were very few ingredients and I was insulted, I won't be back again, a lot of lack of professionalism and terrible service.

The food was not up to its standard. They gave a few strands of donner meat and a tiny bit of chicken donner. The chips was stale. I opted for flaming chips, there was no seasoning on them. There was hardly any cheese on top either. In the description it states that it comes with the 3 signature dips, none of that arrives with the order either. Disappointing!! £30 for nothing… don’t bother wasting money.

As a treat someone ordered the kebab meat and chips claiming it’s amazing, it wasn’t, it was disappointing, small portions for the price, a few frozen fries with no flavour, try seasoning, it can help with the blandest frozen foods. Some kebab meat, greasy and just not great. Would have been cheaper and tastier from a chip shop with much better portions. The guy who ordered it had to make a sandwich after as he was so disappointed, sad

No sauce with the cheese bites, so bought the three pot sauce deal and got 3 of the same sauce, yogurt?! Also no napkins and cutlery(plastic or wood) so had to eat with hands and no napkins to wipe down after.

Need to get some respect and priority for the actual walk in customers. Stood at the counter for over 10 minutes, No one even acknowledged us. No one even had the slightest interest in actually saying we will be with you shortly just made us stand there. We were not the only ones, 6 others walked out the same time. Gdk you've lost your customer service which used to be high now just just eat customers seem to get the only service. Sort it out !!!

The Courier was very patient & helpful

Food taste good, but I ordered 2 pots of melted cheese sos(which one I paid for it) and I didn’t get it. Also I ordered extra beef and I don’t think that was „extra” beef. I ordered food from this place many times but I collected myself, everything was always fine. Today I’m really disappointed.

Portion size of the food was very small for what u pay including paying for extra mix spent over £65 and the portion size was ridiculous to say the least wont be returning here any time soon.

Cold and when I rang the manager said he had no record of my meal bitterly disappointed in service and food was awfull will not be ordering again.

I wouldn’t bother ordering online or even pick up. Twice now at least half or even 2/3 from the order missing. They clearly just don’t care so despite the food being nice, if you can’t trust them to fulfil the order and just give you whatever they feel like that day, it’s not worth the hassle trying to get your money back.

Favourite kebab place, I absolutely love this place, the only thing thats not good is the continously hike in prices, I appreciate everything os getting expensive, but compared to other restaurants, German doner will soon be unaffordable.

Driver was brilliant. One of his bicycle tyres got a puncture on the way. Rather than cancel the order, he walked with his bike as fast as he could.
