German Doner Kebab in Richmond upon Thames

I Visited GDK on Yesterday. The staff are awful. Even they don’t know how to treat Customers.They were very rude with me and my partner.I ordered doner Kebab. They gave in very cold condition.and smell is not as it should be. Literally we wasted our time and money. Kingston GDK some what better than this one. Please prefer other local kebabs. They are doing some what good kebabs

Very good kebab and good service

Just keeps getting worse! Portion size and packaging changes on a weekly basis, tiniest sprinkle of salad, made with very little care. I won’t be going back.

Only based on one things which I found unacceptable, ordered to eat in , asked for some tap water ( to take meds) ‘sorry we don’t have any tap water’ LOL … I’ve never been gobsmacked in my life tbh

The portions are not as big as advertised. To be honest, it differs every time. Mostly small portions with an overpriced tag. They used to be good but in time their quality and portions degraded. What a shame.

Love this place. Very clean and modern inside. Went with the donner box with chips and salad with chilli sauce. I would eat this for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Took 90 mins to deliver less than 2km, driver drove past location multiple times

We ordered delivery and we waited for 1 hour and in the end the food never came so we then called them. The calling system is also made in a way so that you can not call the actual shop so it is very horrendous. Despite the order being confirmed and not delivered , they still took £20 from my bank account. After emailing them a few times, they responded at first but then completely started ignoring us which is extremely disgusting. Anyone that is planning to order from here, please just do not waste your money.

Hi I've had gdk in Birmingham,a chili cheese box with beef and chips,,was fantastic 👍got one delivered from you ,,, hardly any cheese or pepper in it so disappointed,,,,think you need to up your game I won't get a delivery again,,,

Don't expect the taste of the Turkish or Lebanese Döner. It is a highly industrialized version of the food but at least with a good sanitation standards.

Didn’t give me half my order multiple times

What's the point of illuding your client? In the picture shown before purchasing this box, the amount of food was getting out of the box. In reality, it's at least 20% less. I remember it wasn't like that for more than a year ago. Will choose something else next time.

Quite simply the best kebabs ever!

I had a main meal during the week for a 5£. Don’t waste your money here. A very small and tasteless wrap. First time and never again at GDK

Yesterday I bought 2 same deals but 1 of them don't have meat inside only salad.

Having ordered from various German Doner Kebab branches all over London, overall experience is usually okay. However, this branch despite the kind requests while making orders, keep not putting enough garlic sauce or chilli sauce. Its called German Doner for some reason and it must have the sauce and without it tastes very plain. Please ask to staff couple times if you want to have the sauce, otherwise you will just get couple drops.. And it’s as reasonably priced anymore.

Table wasnt wiped, chicken doner was mostly white fat, It was if they had literally just given the pieces of fat. No discount, very cost heavy (£2.50 for 250ml of coca cola), I would like to see the food safety standards report of this place. The information on the table said that it was top quality and the focus was on making sure the place was clean and tidy for each customer.

After a hard day of moving furniture, this really restored our energy. Very tasty

1st visit GDK Really enjoyed the food once I'd worked out the menu and what items were I think menu needs to be more descriptive as this is a basic but unusual concept. Tried the OG Kebab & Veggie option Both delicious Not fatty like traditional doner Bread very tasty

It's a fast food joint.... So it's not getting a 5 star from me... However, they are at the top of the fast food places in my opinion. Very clean, well priced and tasty

We ordered to deliver and accidentally pressed twice. They could understand it is not right to make same order seconds a part but not the case here. Came 2 same orders, one deadly cold (probably waited for second the same one to be cooked) Never enjoyed cold food. Complained and was completely ignored. Used to order regularly but no more. Having higher customer service expectations. (And after read comments regret didn't do that earlier, wouldn't be ordering there ever at all).

The food is so tasty, as a Nigerian, I wanted spicy food and I really loved the spiciness of the food, so yummy, staff are nice too.

The workers are very nice and welcoming the service is top notch and the food comes quick and hot it’s very delicious I go there a lot I definitely recommend it’s also very warm and kid friendly there’s a section for family and the music is very enjoyable

Been sitting here 10 min so far no other customer in the shop 4 delivery orders have been done before me all i wanted was a donner box asked how long and told another 10 min for fries…… asked to cancel thats not an option

Today I went there and I ordered 2 kebab wrap, 1 cheesy fries to take away. We specifically asked for one wrap to be without tomato due to intolerance. Once I got home I opened my bag, and inside there where two triangular shape kebab both with tomato, regular fries. How about you give me what I ask for? The food was great anyway.

Really delicious and the best GDK around England

Really well-organised and modern looking restaurant. They have touchscreens for ordering food as well as the usual way to order at the till. Manager is very friendly and staff are accommodating. I go often. Edit: Improved cake for money since February 2023 started but slower service at times.

I tried it for the first time couple of weeks ago in hounslow and everything was good until I revisited again in the Twickenham branch and the staff was so amazing and professional.

I have to say the great service I always get from one particular person at German Donar kebab, she is the only female girl who serves when I go to the Twickenham branch. She is amazing and kind and passionate and sweet. Please make sure you don’t lose this girl she is an asset to your company. I don’t spend my time writing reviews but went out of my way for this girl. She is of an Asian background and such a pleasure to be served by at your restaurant

I’m not happy at all.Very high prices You pay expensive for a chicken doner with salad and fries but you get only salad and fries without a chicken.HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

Place looks interesting inside, very much like a fireaway pizza colour scheme. Service was great. Food for my Berlin Strasse wrap was mostly bread and chips, very little beef - spring rolls were good. Not in a rush to get back based on protein content over cheap carbs for the money.

Sadly I didn't like the taste of the food. To be fair, it was new to me and I am not very fond of new food flavours. I need some time to get used to it. Probably later on I might upgrade the stars to higher. Food is neatly packed and rather quickly fixed. I saw that they have a halal option as well. Price was higher then elsewhere for the same item. I don't think I would choose them over other similar places even though I know I will be tempted to, soon.

I asked for some garlic sauce as usually you get one with your meal which I’ve done previously and the staff refused to give me then one of their friends come and gets one without a problem they should change the staff they super rude never coming back here again

The ambience and the food is good. 🍟 were very tasty and fresh. The kebabs are also good. Recommended for quick bytes and in the go food

Very average meal. Got a delivery through just eat and ordered cheesy chips...normal ones came. Terrible customer service through just eat and they won't refund us. Food that did come wasn't very exciting because we forgot to take a photo of the cheeseless chips before we ate them. The spring rolls were tasteless. Hardly any salad in the kebabs. Nachos and quesidilla were the nicest thing but again very average. Didn't get any sauces delivered. This is the second time German donar have messed up an order. Won't be getting it again.

We are regularly having GDK around London. We came few times to Twickenham and got really disappointed with service, food quality and hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant for dine in customers. As we were passing by Twickenham today I thought well, lets give it a go, maybe they improved! Its Friday evening and i was surprised that we were the only customers inside, that says a lot! So we ordered one OG meal and one wrap meal. First of all, i was surprised that it only comes with one sauce. GDK has increased the prices significantly and have now made the sauces as “extra”… ok, nevermind. OG kebab and wrap comes by themselves with drinks and staff advised that chips will be ready in 4-5min. I accepted like this, but let me tell you something, if I buy a meal, you should serve it as a meal, all together. My partner had the wrap it was ok apart from a tiniest amount of meat we ever received in a wrap, but we are not from those people that goes to complain, but… My OG kebab was STONE COLD. Everything. The bread, the meat. Meat was cold and so dry, it felt like it was cooked, shaved and kept in some Sort of container since the morning. Im sorry, i dont ask for discount, I pay full price so I expect to receive the food how it should be. So I went and told the staff that my kebab is cold. Staff was ok with it and told me that they will make a new one. As I mentioned, the place was empty, there was no customers whatsoever… tables- grease marks, overflowing rubbish from the bins and 6 staff members chatting away… The only wish for Twickenham GDK is to CLOSE DOWN… very bad. This was now the last chance I gave that place, and it disappointed me even more than i was disappointed before

Ordered delivery. Food was not very warm, spring rolls were so greasy we didn't eat them, not very much meat or salad in anything. Overall very disappointing and a waste of money. Needless to say we both feel unwell today. Will never buy from here again. Only 1 star given and that's because it turned up.

Orderd off of deliveroo food arrived cold because of this the fries were rubbery, cheese bites same thing. The kebab left a weird taste in my mouth and the bread the kebab was in, was soggy. Waste of £28 such a disappointment considering it looks very professional in there. Also missed the kebab and cheese fries in my order. Very upset ended up throwing over three quarters of the food away thanks alot.

Food is like always nice from German Doner, especially when you eat inside, but staff don’t understand English, I had to change my order 3 times and they look at me like I’m speaking foreign, really annoying when staff are not trained and don’t speak and understand English enough to complete there job, and very unhappy that they have to change my order. Because of that I wouldn’t suggest to eat here until they change and train there staff

First of all they have increased their prices, but it is still to die for. All options on the menu are so delicious from the Donner meat with fries to the original Donner kebab. The restaurant is clean and has very nice staff. If you are a student they have a student discount which is wonderful

The meal was fantastic, especially for the price! I've completely dropped my original kebab place in favour of this one. Please, please definitely give this place a go! You won't regret it. Definitely try the Coco Kebab; it's the pink one... Thank me later. The place is very clean and well kept, amazing smells as you walk past - that's what got me to order from them - and my other half was over the moon with the vegetarian option she chose. Bravo!

👍 - Helpful staff (but some aren't that not friendly when visibly tired) - The food is tasty. - I like the fact that the kitchen is visible. 👎 - A bit overpriced for what it is (fancy Kebabs). Probably because it's located in a "posh" area. - The A/C was set on High during the heat wave. As a result it felt cold inside. To be fair, this is probably not perceptible from the kitchen. In any case, I felt very cold in my summer outfit 😁 - Self-service machine tells you to enter the table number... But there are no numbers on the tables. Luckily the Staff told us to enter a random number. Confusing. 💡 Suggestions: - A "Thank you" sign on the bin will encourage customers to drop the rubbish in the bin. - Add table numbers on tables, or remove the instruction telling users to enter the table numbers from the self-service machine. - Avoid overcompensating the high indoor temperature with very low indoor temperature ❄️😅

Chips were dripping oil, tasted awful… some were hot others not, probably been sitting there from a previous batch. Shame, but staff was nice.

This particular store is outstanding. The food is so tasty, air conditioning, nice clean seating area and the staff are so friendly which always helps any experience.

German Doner Kebab is a good food chain but I found the Kingston branch really ridiculous, I visited a few times the Kingston branch and the portion of the meal here is very small, even if you pay 2.50 pounds for extra meat they won't increase the portion of meal, it will remain the same size box, therefore my advice is not to pay for extra meat because you are not getting it anyway. Some staff in Kingston Branch is very rude and they do not know the basic customer service skills, there is a branch manager with heavybuild (probably some body builder) who is extremely rude to customers and do not know how to treat his customers, he started to shout at customer when a customer complaint that I haven't ordered cheese on my meal. Another thing which I noticed about this branch manager is that he seldom work and most of the time stand in the seating area and try to flirt the girls (customers). A few times I asked about the portion of my meal that I had paid extra money for the extra meat but I haven't got it, he said this is our standard box and we cannot provide you extra meat. There is no change in the box even if you pay for extra meat.

This is the 3rd time I've had this from Twickenham branch, first time great, second inedible and got a full refund, my wife wanted to try so got it third time and final time ever. I actually feel ill after eating it, comes cold,chips are disgusting and cold.

Very disappointed no telephone number available to find out if they are sending your correct order after delivering me someone else smaller order, they charged extra for delivery and confirmed my PIN number. No response from Uber eats at all. The food from here was lovely last time but won’t be using Uber eats and these guys again and hopefully I will get my money back but let’s see.

My favourite kebab stop! The bread they use is out of this world ❤ Not sure if they make it but it's so tasty.

Tasteless cold and poor service avoid this branch

Good atmosphere, air conditioned seating area, quick polite service. The dona kebabs were good, could do with being hotter (temperature). Otherwise enjoy by all. Ordered the Boss box, kcal kebab and doner box with fries, additional drinks. £32 total

I've been to this outlet twice now & both times been very disappointed. Today there was no CHEESE ! Basic done, I might aswell go next door to the kebab shop. Last time it was no chicken. New store, no product. German Doner without cheese us just a doner.

GDK is a good place to grab a donner which is not your average high street donner, they serve crispy not greasy donner in bread, unlike pita bread served in other places. They have wraps which are served in naan like bread but not the ones which will become a saw dust while eating it's proper bread with a good chew to it. Loved the place and its decor.

Today 12/06/2022 i visited GDK Twinckenham just to have my favourite Donner Panini from GDK, i did take away (receipt is attached) but when i came back home and started eating i was very much disappointed as the food was not of even good quality, bread was burnt( tastes bitter that’s why) and there was barely some mix donner inside half of the bread was empty, believe me i was much disappointed as i like GDK alot and I travelled all the way from Sunbury just to have my favourite food but all in vain. I have attached the pictures as a proof also.

I fully understand why it was so empty upon arrival. Cold meat was served together with bread, separate prices for sauses and cleanliness was not great. Avoid avoid avoid...

Lots of confusion on orders with our group. Portion of actual chicken in kebab quite small. Food ok. Not sure I will be back.

Had the box boss again and was amazing. Tables were clean the service was quick. Never lets me down. -few months ago. Wow. Went three weeks ago and I was totally shocked. I asked for the boss box- Original German Doner Kebab without tomatoes as I don’t have a great reaction to them. When I received the food, there was tomatoes in it so I went up to the counter and asked why. The lady did not care and just said “oh, I told them to” in a uncaring way and walked away. The next problem was the workers kept shouting at customers to leave while eating as it was closing time. I came in 45 minutes before waited a long time for my food so did the others then get told this?! I was not told when ordering that it was takeaway only as she gave me the option to eat in. No manager will throw their customers out while eating especially when it hasn’t passed it’s closing time so the workers had no right to. The workers really need to be trained better by management as it let me and other consumers down. By me having to eat in a rush, made me have a stomach cramp on the way home. I was struggle to walk home. Used to be really good but I think the old workers left. AVOID- BEEN LOOKING A COMMENT LOOLL. Can CLEARLY SEE IT IS FAKE. Look at the 5 star reviews, they are clearly workers as they mostly other reviews are from india or the same places. 😂😭😭😭

I had the standard, mixed kebab. Not much flavour and the bread was a bit dry. You have to pay extra for spicy sauce, for example. This is really ridiculous. At least half of the soft drinks were out of stock and no cutlery was provided for dining in. Overall, it was quite disappointing. A local, independent kebab outlet would probably have been better and cheaper.

Food was fine though ordered both a large and a regular sized German Doner Kebab. Weighed them both and regular weighed 364g and large was 410g. Not worth the extra spend in my opinion.
