Georgio's Fish & Chips in Wirral

I have used this chip shop in the past and so do my brothers and sister who won't any more as I went into their shop on 6-1-2017 and ordered a large cod and chips around 12.15pm or lunchtime and whilst I was waiting the server (a large lady but short) accused me of rolling my eyes when she was talking to the only other customer in the shop.... I wasn't sure what she was getting at first but when she made it plain I was apparently rolling my eyes at her when she was apparently engaged in a conversation with someone else and had a real go at me for standing there I responded in a way she would understand, I asked for the manager who apparently seemed like the employee and sided with her kind and polite customer service and actually looked scared.They put the large fish in the fryer beforehand which is over £5 and their stupidity made me leave with nothing. This is a chip shop that chooses its customers, Go to Hippo's, the fish and chips are great and they treat you as a customer and not the enemy.

Nice fish & chips bit on the dear side will think about going back next time when we are in the area

Found by chance..fish and chips huge portions ( 1 haddock could serve 2 adults) which family reported to be delicious...I had cheese and onion pie...only option for vegi however very tasty. Would like another vegi option please but would definitely return. Very clean environment and pleasant staff.

Waited far too long to be served whilst the staff gossiped about their weekend plans.The food served to me was not even hot. Luke warm tepid chips, a dodgy looking sausage and not enough gravy. Staff didn't listen when I said no vinegar and piled it on anywayI didn't have time to wait for another dish and staff didn't offer any ways

Been going here for a few years , fish n chips ,mushy peas and a tub of curry, tasty tasty , really is try it you will love it, service always with a smile , i will be back for more

I can't believe I have only just discovered this gem. A real traditional fish and chip shop, cod to die for and gourmet fishcakes that really hit the spot. The staff are friendly and very pleasant and when ordering by phone the meals are ready bang on time.

Best fish I've ever had, my Lads ate the lot and are keen to go back , My eldest Lad especially when might of had something to do with the blonde behind the counter .

When it first opened in borough it was really good value for money but the quality of fish and portion size has gone smaller as the time has gone by.

We have been going to this chop shop for a good few years now and I must say I wouldn't go anywhere else.The fish is fresh the batter is crispy and the chips are the best around.The place is always absolutely spotless.The girls who work there are polite and friendly and are a credit to the shop. Well done georgios you deserve your 5 star rating.

We have been going to this fish and chip shop for the last five years.In my opinion they WERE the best fish and chip shop on the Wirral.I had always bought the haddock and chips and the haddock was always chunky and flaky and tasty and crispy and the chips were lovely and fresh.I am very sorry to say that for the last couple of months the haddock has been very very thin and in some parts as flat as fish fingers , this is despite the prices going up.The chips have been greasy and not nice.Sadly after five years we will not be going back.Such as shame but now not worth the money!

As the title suggests, the quality of the food is good, I just wish there was more of it. Portions are quite poor.

Had both fish & chips and chicken & chips from Georgio's last night. Best fish and chips I have ever had. Everything hot and crispy. Tried something called a fish savoury-should have ordered two! Can't wait to go back!

I've just had the best fish and chips in my life. Everything freshly cooked, nothing to much trouble for the staff. Amazing fresh fish the size of a shark! You can't fail to be impressed with this place, absolutely spotlessly clean. Will be visiting again very soon.

Went to this chip shop only once, never again. The chips were reheats (not fresh cooked) the portion was small, definitely not value for money. Avoid like the plague. I give it a 1 rating.

Visited Georgio's fish and chip takeaway and I was really impressed. The whole shop is spotless and the service is great. I ordered 2 large fish and they were large, and they tasted delicious. The chips were really good too and although we only get one portion between us we actually ate them all , which is a first ! Definately our takeaway of choice now , we will be returning. Thank you.

Makes a change to have a fish and chip shop in Birkenhead that is not also a Chinese takeaway and actually serves fresh cod. Good portions and not too long a wait.

Visited this Fish & Chip a few times now quality of fish consistently excellent the mushroom sauce and hot curry good, overgenerous portions of good chips.All in all good food quality very clean shop good staff and my waist line is growing.Note this is a takeaway only

Fresh food cooked as you order, large portions so have a big appetite when you order, nicest fish & chips in the area, wouldn't go anywhere else

First opened in the 1980's and after all these years the standard of food if anything has gone from high to higher, To be highly recommended

Fantastic quality fish and chips. The cod was thick and fresh, the batter light. The chips were golden, crispy and fluffy. The portions were huge. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic value for money. The highest of recommendations.

Georgios is the best kept secret on the wirral. If you visit tell Andy the owner and Jane his right hand that Moira from canada sent you. They are amazing. There food awsome.

Absolutely lovely food ,service and extremely clean. Go there every time for fish and chips. .would not go anywhere else .

Always try and use this chippy, great fish and chips and great milk shakes. The fish is always cooked to order and fresh.

Just had our first fish and chips from here ,loved them be back again soon . The haddock was lovely .

This is an excellent take away if you require Fish and Chips.The Haddock is to die for and the chips are always cooked just right in the old fashioned way that takes you back to your childhood.My children opt for the scampi or the fishcakes; they too are superb.The staff are always excellent and the shop spotless.

Real cod, fantastic batter, fish so huge you could share it between two people. It's good having it in the box saves on washing up and keeps it nice and hot. Excellent value.As it is a takeaway chippy only it has no eat in facility,

We as a family like everything about this Fish and Chip shop. The savouries are excellent, as are the spam fritters, curry is lovely, two types one is fruity it is yummy. They do a Senior Citizen meal which is ideal for my 80 year old mum. Winner every time.

This place is brilliant, lovely light batter on fish that are the size of sharks. Generous portions and reasonably priced

Best fish and chips and friendly service :) the chips are so tasty the nicest chips had in a while and the mini fish was delicious although was a good size and filled me up! Lovely chippy tea!
