Georgio's Fish & Chips in Wirral

I bought small fish and chips with peas, I was astonished that it cost 9.50!!! It was very nice, i was completely shocked at the price!:can't afford to do that often, my daughter was out for dinner, but if she'd have been home it would have cost just shy of 20 pounds for two small Cod and chips...unreal! This was at the Claughton chippy.

Thank you so much. Having had some awful news about my dad I ordered on their app. I thought I’d ordered for delivery but in fact I’d ordered for collection. I’d had a drink and couldn’t come down and yet without knowing about my situation they’d kept the food in good nick and got their driver to deliver it. After a turbulent week, thank you so much georgios for making my life that little bit easier today. The food as ever is phenomenal

Horrible cold fish and chips, cold curry too. Used to be lovely but feel like we wasted our money as food was tasteless and overpriced. Don’t know if it’s changed hands ?

ordered 2 seniors and the fish was that thin you could almost see through it so very disappointing !!! sadly not the first time this is why i’m posting this review sorry to say !!!!! please upgrade your fish !!!

Dont go, over priced, i ordered two large fish and chips, the chips were warm ups and the fish was over cooked and very dry, for £23 it was the worst fish and chips ive ever had, wont be goingcthere again ever

Georgio's was a recommendation from our new neighbours. Oh, and what a recommendation. The fish comes in three sizes; mini, medium and large and in two types ; cod, and haddock. Both are delicious. The chips are good, survive the trip home and are rejoined...

This is the best fish and chip shop on the Wirral. Its always freshly cooked. It has a choice of fish which comes in various sizes. Not the cheapest but worth the little extra cost for the high quality fish in a non greasy light...

Always go to Georgios (30+ yrs) when we want a fish & chip supper but what a disappointment last night. My husband called in for our fish & chips and they had no large cod only haddock, the only cod available were very small portions...

Seriously, this is the best fish and chips I have ever had! Fish was crispy on the outside, perfectly flakely and moist on the inside. Also tried the chicken and my husband loved it. Highly Recommend!!

I have used this chip shop in the past and so do my brothers and sister who won't any more as I went into their shop on 6-1-2017 and ordered a large cod and chips around 12.15pm or lunchtime and whilst I was waiting the server (a large lady but short) accused me of rolling my eyes when she was talking to the only other customer in the shop.... I wasn't sure what she was getting at first but when she made it plain I was apparently rolling my eyes at her when she was apparently engaged in a conversation with someone else and had a real go at me for standing there I responded in a way she would understand, I asked for the manager who apparently seemed like the employee and sided with her kind and polite customer service and actually looked scared.They put the large fish in the fryer beforehand which is over £5 and their stupidity made me leave with nothing. This is a chip shop that chooses its customers, Go to Hippo's, the fish and chips are great and they treat you as a customer and not the enemy.

they sell the best fish and chips in birkenhead,there is also a wide choice of other food one of the staff was a bit off with one of my granddaughters whan she was a bit noisy and told me to tell her to keep quiet...

Food here is nice and fresh mostly cooked in front of you staff are sometimes a little unfriendly due to volume of customers especially during lunch times when it's full of students. Also a bit expensive for small portions

Georgios is good fresh food and a clean work place for fast food. The only part i didnt like was i think the selection was a bit limited.

The staff are always friendly and cheerful. A bit more expensive than the other local fish and chip shops but they do some meals/dishes that the others don't. What I have had from here has always been nice though.

Found by chance..fish and chips huge portions ( 1 haddock could serve 2 adults) which family reported to be delicious...I had cheese and onion pie...only option for vegi however very tasty. Would like another vegi option please but would definitely return. Very clean environment and pleasant staff.

I can't believe I have only just discovered this gem. A real traditional fish and chip shop, cod to die for and gourmet fishcakes that really hit the spot. The staff are friendly and very pleasant and when ordering by phone the meals are ready bang on time.

When it first opened in borough it was really good value for money but the quality of fish and portion size has gone smaller as the time has gone by.

We have been going to this chop shop for a good few years now and I must say I wouldn't go anywhere else.The fish is fresh the batter is crispy and the chips are the best around.The place is always absolutely spotless.The girls who work there are polite and friendly and are a credit to the shop. We have been going to this fish and chip shop for the last five years.In my opinion they WERE the best fish and chip shop on the Wirral.I had always bought the haddock and chips and the haddock was always chunky and flaky and tasty and crispy and the chips were lovely and fresh.I am very sorry to say that for the last couple of months the haddock has been very very thin and in some parts as flat as fish fingers , this is despite the prices going up.The chips have been greasy and not nice.Sadly after five years we will not be going back.Such as shame but now not worth the money!

I've just had the best fish and chips in my life. Everything freshly cooked, nothing to much trouble for the staff. Amazing fresh fish the size of a shark! You can't fail to be impressed with this place, absolutely spotlessly clean. Will be visiting again very soon.

Went to this chip shop only once, never again. The chips were reheats (not fresh cooked) the portion was small, definitely not value for money. Avoid like the plague. I give it a 1 rating.

Visited Georgio's fish and chip takeaway and I was really impressed. The whole shop is spotless and the service is great. I ordered 2 large fish and they were large, and they tasted delicious. The chips were really good too and although we only get one portion between us we actually ate them all , which is a first ! Definately our takeaway of choice now , we will be returning. Thank you.

First opened in the 1980's and after all these years the standard of food if anything has gone from high to higher, To be highly recommended

Makes a change to have a fish and chip shop in Birkenhead that is not also a Chinese takeaway and actually serves fresh cod. Good portions and not too long a wait.

Visited this Fish & Chip a few times now quality of fish consistently excellent the mushroom sauce and hot curry good, overgenerous portions of good chips.All in all good food quality very clean shop good staff and my waist line is growing.Note this is a takeaway only

Fantastic quality fish and chips. The cod was thick and fresh, the batter light. The chips were golden, crispy and fluffy. The portions were huge. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic value for money. The highest of recommendations.

Georgios is the best kept secret on the wirral. If you visit tell Andy the owner and Jane his right hand that Moira from canada sent you. They are amazing. There food awsome.

This is an excellent take away if you require Fish and Chips.The Haddock is to die for and the chips are always cooked just right in the old fashioned way that takes you back to your childhood.My children opt for the scampi or the fishcakes; they too are superb.The staff are always excellent and the shop spotless.

Real cod, fantastic batter, fish so huge you could share it between two people. It's good having it in the box saves on washing up and keeps it nice and hot. Excellent value.As it is a takeaway chippy only it has no eat in facility,

We as a family like everything about this Fish and Chip shop. The savouries are excellent, as are the spam fritters, curry is lovely, two types one is fruity it is yummy. They do a Senior Citizen meal which is ideal for my 80 year old mum. Winner every time.
