Tried all the chip shops in Retford and this is the best. Even their kebads are spot on, large portions and great value. Always a queue.

Pretty good fish and chips. Never had any issues and the staff are nice and polite. Standard menu including kid's options.

We love our crispy battered fish on a bed of mushy peas. My partner said that Georges had just reopened so we high_tailed it for a late lunch. The fish was cooked to order, which is the best way to have it. Returning to the car to eat it in a lay by. The batter was well flavoured and lovely and crisp, the large fish flakes were moist and tastey but we both commented on the washy watery mushy peas, it just let the experience down The fish was lovely though

Absolutely fantastic food, something for everyone on the menu with a great kids selection. Generous portion sizes and excellent service. Great atmosphere in the bar with dogs being made very welcome. Altogether a great country pub experience. We will certainly not leave it so long next time till we re visit

Absolute gem which we are thrilled we found. Good easy parking, fabulous menu of truly home cooked foods. Wide drinks list Beautiful inside with level access and patio area all over looking the run way. Staff friendly and efficient, dog friendly outside although when wind is high ( like today ) the patio is closed for safety which is fully understandable. Will definitely return if we are in the area

Wow what can i say, this is the first time coming here as we were visiting my parents who have recently moved here so they treated us to a meal for my birthday. The food and service was by far a 10 out of 10. All freshly cooked food and decent portions for the price too. I had the Sticky Chicken for starters 🤤🤤and a Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie for main course which was well filled. I loved the deco and how comfortable the crushed velvet chairs were which made it even more comfy. The whole place was clean and inviting to everyone. All the staff we were in contact with with so bubbly and friendly, especially the owner? Who took our order and the lady who waited on us too. The only niggle for me was i was to hot but thats personal preference as im never cold and was sittinf by a radiator. Such a lovely pub its a shame its going to be closing ☹️
