The best chip shop in my local area food is always fresh. Service is always friendly. Made to feel welcome every time.

Quality of food is SUPERB(chips are never oily or waxy)as is the friendly & hygienic staff,prices are high but the Green Lanes food area has created a competitive food scene so it’s to be expected,this shop has a very narrow customer serving area(any more than 5 ppl queuing it’ll get cosy)

I was really satisfied with their food. They serve large portions of fish and chips with only 12.5 pounds! You'll regret it if you miss this place. They have only one bench outside the store. The boss and chef are very kind!

This place is on the side of St. Anne's Road in Haringey and it does the best fish and chips. And also there are other options available for whatever you fancy. So come along and try out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Ive sent my daughter in today 07/11/2023 she brought chips i was parked waiting not to get fined she came said mum this chips might not be enough so we decided to buy another came home i was so angry that the chips they had given her was like a £1 worth which she paid 3£ each so disgusting just because a teenage went in they took it has advantage so disappointing

Hit and miss. Went in and thought I had the best fish and chips, so I took my friend raving about the place and that time it was the worst.

As my mother is old the workers of the shop took advantage of her overcharging her £6 for 4 chicken wings. They are not nice people would not recommend

Holy moly the value here is insane! 7.99 you get a huge piece of fish and a heavy helping of chips. Now I wish we didn't wait til our last day to have this place. We heard they were the best in the area and they definitely lived up to it. I do wish they had more seating outside. We had to go back to the flat to eat. But this isn't something I would dock a star for as I would give them 6 stars if I could.

The chips were fresh and tasty but the cod was too oily.

George’s is the only traditional chippie in this part of london serving the Haringey ladder and gardens. They’re not cheap, but the portions are huge and with a bit of afore thought you can save on wastage bread splitting meals. They’re normally busy from Friday during peak hours expectedly so don’t expect to nip in and out, you may have to wait. The food itself is tasty and cooked well, but unlike so many chip shops, they don’t have a lot of chips or fish precooked. It appears they prefer to cook to match the demand which they are well within their rights to do to cut down on wastage and maintain high quality. They have a range of chicken and extras as well as the chip shop staples but again things like saveloys and pies are not always guaranteed and you may endure a wait or just have to accept they have sold out. If you understand the rhythm of how George’s operate you can manage your expectations. The owner is a friendly guy and quick to intervene when you are 20p short. He is humane and a gentleman and a credit to the local area. He also drives a nice car which indicates he must be doing something right. Ask him to show you his pride and joy! I can recommend this place, have been using George’s for nearly 20 years initially because he is the only real chippie around here but mainly because they do a good job.

Everything here was just mediocre. I can't say anything was special or bad. The man serving me got my order wrong slightly but I wouldn't complain much about it as it was very minor.

Definitely the best fish and chips I have found in Haringey. Hygiene standards were very impressive too from start of the pandemic.

Best chip shop good prices allways freshly made

Fish was fine, but their chips and attitude were terrible. Their chips taste like fried hours ago, absorbed steam all the way, or fried the day before and didn't bother to re-fry. Fish were fine in the sense that they are not fishy, but as all restaurants would do, they serve you old fried ones and leave those fresh ones in display. Regards attitude, you really need to repeat 4 times for them to get what you said, and then they understand it wrong. So, unless you really feel like fish and chips and cannot go anywhere else, please don't.

We love George's Fish and Chips. Lovely family-run business... spotlessly clean... fresh, delicious fish, crispy on the outside, succulent in the middle... we always order haddock but friends assure us the cod is just as good. The chips are AMAZING... not had better chips anywhere else, and I've eaten a LOT of chips!! Their battered sausage is a naughty but AWESOME treat... also, very reasonably priced.

Been going to this fish and chip for 25 years its changed management but boy oh boy so they do the best chips and they put alot of chips there battered sausage is beatiful with nice crispy batter savaloys chicken fish are all delicious me being a local I can tell u dont listen to negative comments who might live half hour away listen to a local thsy are the best 😋

I have been a regular at George's fish bar for years and live locally. I thought that they knew and respected me as a local customer. I am aware that they always charge 50p if your order is less than £10, which is now against the law. During the Covid crisis I went there every week and used my card and had assumed they had changed policy because of the law, for hygiene reasons (particularly relating to Covid) and because people find it harder to get to cash points. All valid reasons. I was brought up sharply today when my order was £9 and they said they had to charge me 50p for using a card. I pointed out this was against the law and could they help me as a regular customer because I couldn't get cash easily and my kids were looking forward to their fish and chips! The man behind the counter was rude and stubborn and became agressive when I made the point and said I was upset as they saw me every week. He point blank refused not to add 50p to my order. It's not really about the 50p. I tip more than this often for fish and chips. I am just disappointed and quite upset by this attitude and service from a local place. The food is fine if not the best.

THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN HARRINGAY . Very tasty, very generous portions and unbelievably friendly staff. PLEASE AVOID TO ORDER FROM DELIVEROO BECAUSE- I did try to order via Deliveroo and my order from the restaurant came to 13.60 £, however when I was checking out they wanted to charge me 21.00 £. When I spoke with the shop and ask them why I am charge extra 7.40£ they said that this is not from them but from Deliveroo. I can't believe that Deliveroo wanted to charge me 7.40£ for delivery!!! Plus I am sure they are charging 30-40 % commission the restaurant too. Please support the local business by GOING AND ORDERING DIRECTLY FROM THEM.

This is the only traditional fish and chips place in this area,it has been here for many years, they do nice, reasonably priced fish and chips to take away only.

Just about the only traditional chippy in the area now. Fish, chips & good veggie options too (the Jamaican veg patties are great!) But it would be really great if they joined Just Eat as I have to leg it to George's from Turnpike Lane & back every time we want fish 'n chips.

Chips where tasteless - Nasty chips - lots of what looks like soil in them - nearly broke a tooth on a small bit of Gret - not a clean place.

Very rude manager and staff... Insulted me when I asked for fresh chips as they tasted stale... He got offended and was getting an attitude then started to boast about how he is rich and lives in Essex whilst us "people" (black people) are living in Harringay!!!! BLACK PEOPLE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! WE NEED TO BE UNITED AND WAKE UP AND BUY FROM OUR OWN!!! Furthermore no one should buy from them since we are lower class!!!

A fantastic fish and chips shop that has remained a staple of Green Lanes with some of the best chips anywhere in Tottenham. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the prices are excellent as well. You can't go far wrong with George's Fish Bar!

Ordered 2 large cods. I was told it would take 5 minutes. After 15 minutes when preparing my order I was told only normal size is available! It was very tiny...
