Previous good reviews yet none mention this place has all the appearances of being closed. When we arranged to meet here based on those earlier reviews we were looking forward to a pleasant time. Unfortunately it was closed at 3pm on a weekday. Although no notices were visible it has all the signs of long term closure.

What a great find! The cafe is inside a church, which was unexpected and very charming. The coffee was great, the walnut cake was delicious and the staff and delightful. Highly recommended!

Wonderful atmosphere in an old church, one that is still in use, so filled with peace, tranquillity and hope. Add to that an excellent cup of tea and carrot cake, and you have the makings of a perfect cafe. One can sit in the foyer or at a variety of seating places in the body of the church itself. There are large squashy sofas, small tables and chairs, or very large tables with extra lighting from gorgeous standing lamps that one can turn on or off as one likes. The staff are professional and the service excellent: once one has bought one's tea and cake at the counter, the tea is brought to the table by a waitress. My only complaint is that the teabag was not IN the tea pot, a strange factor which has become very common in cafes today. BUT the water in the tea pot was VERY hot, something I can't say for high street chains, and one can get two cups from the pot, plus additional hot water for more. The carrot cake is delicious and worth going back for more. Many students were clustered around the bigger tables using the free, secure wi-fi - a lovely, quiet place to work. I've yet to do my "flat white" test but the lunches smell delicious and I'll definitely be going back many times.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Both were very good as was the tea my wife had. Set in a church it's a nice quiet venue.

Went for lunch today and had scampi, chips and peas it was very good. Chips as you would expect were cooked to perfection. Loved the range of food on the menu. Mushy peas were also delicious. The venue/building is stunning! All in all enjoyed it and will go back/ does as it says on the tin. My tips are more to the restaurant than the diner- Service was slow ( I understand it’s Xmas week) and a number of people arrived arrived after is (12 midday cooking) yet were served food before us (we were a table of 6 so nothing unmanageable for a fish and chip restaurant) Also extremely slow to clear plates when we had finished so we didn’t bother with deserts or tea/coffee as we needed to get back to work. Hope this feedback is useful. I didn’t enjoy and I would go back... esp if I had more time to wait around.

It's true. A haven of peace and tranquility. Stopped for an early Monday morning almond croissant and tea (both excellent) at the start of what turned out to be one of my busiest week's work in London. Thank God for inviting me in here. It was as if all the anticipated tension of the week ahead just drained out of me as I sat down to enjoy my breakfast. I could've stayed all day, but filled up with inner peace I sailed through the week - now just a distant memory apart from this perfect start Praise the Lord!

Discovered this cafe by accident. Needed a snack so decided to pop in. But because it was after 6pm the soup of the day was no longer available and the other warm option, quiche, didn't look appetising. So I settled for Jasmin tea while I checked my phone. Wifi was free with a purchase. It was a nice cuppa. The staff are friendly and helpful. Some were setting up for an evening event?

walked past at first, but just got a glimpse through the door and thought 'why not?' Lovely quiche and salad, coffee and a piece of cake all served with a smile. Lovely!

I came across George's by accident, needing somewhere to relax for half an hour. Good service, quick, efficient and friendly, very comfy armchairs. A buzz but not frantic. An oasis in London.

We came to George’s to enjoy a coffee an some breakfast. It is a lovely place integrated into a church (almost missed it as its entrance is through church doors) right at queen’s place. You can sit in the actual church and enjoy the unique atmosphere while sipping your coffee - awesome. And don’t forget the very attentive team, who really want to make sure that you enjoy your stay. A definite recommendation

I first discovered this place before going to Queen's square hospital - as we were early we were looking for a place to have some lunch before being admitted. I am so glad we went there as the food was really good! Very simple but tasteful - and the carrot cake was to die for! I even got my husband to collect some food from there when visiting me in hospital instead of the (very bad) food provided! The staff are all very nice and helpful as well. I can't wait for my next check up at the hospital so that i can come back!!! I forgot to mention that there is also a chapel that you can go in from the cafe as well!

This small eatery is associated with and forms part of St George's church on Queen Square. The church supports the community in a number of ways and the café acts as a support (and a conduit) for the church. The menu is limited, but the food is freshly prepared and delicious, the coffee is hot and the prices are reasonable. The service comes with a smile. There are a few tables available, but on my visit most of the customers seemed to be purchasing "to go". It is also one of the few places I have come across in London where you can buy a suspended coffee, (paying forward a coffee for someone who might not be able to afford it). Great work and food food. Well worth the visit.

I've walk past this café most days and have often thought I should give it a try. Today I did, at last, and I will definitely be going back! I had lunch with a friend here and was impressed by the array of choice - lots of sandwiches, cakes, plus quiches, interesting salads and hot food like curries (in containers, so you could presumably eat in or take away). We both had quiche with salad - really delicious and generous portions, all for only £5! The staff are very friendly too. There is plenty of seating, and we actually sat inside the church (which is beautiful, and much quieter and more pleasant than your average coffee shop). I'm pleased to have discovered a new lunch spot and will certainly be returning.

I have been here a couple of times for takeaway lunch. The salads are very inventive and delicious. The chicken curry is lovely with properly cooked rice. But the best thing is the staff who are always friendly and cheerful which perks me up on...

A nice pub to sit down and relax after a walk in town. The bartender was very polite and informative. They have many different beers that is worth trying out. I had the meat board and it was very good. But the bread was really really good. I would happely return 😁

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.
