Popped in for a cheeky pint and some lunch. Both had the Korean burger off the specials menu, and WOW! Think it must be one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had, just delicious! New chef apparently. Staff were lovely and welcoming, sat outside, loads of tables, super service and food, well done and thankyou 🙏

After a long walk in the area, we decided on The George for lunch. We pre-booked and took advantage of the over 60’s menu with the choice of 2 or 3 courses. Because of the good value we went for the 3 courses at £12.50 per person. Good value for money. Staff were also very friendly.

Good range of food available, staff are friendly and the place has a nice vibe. Service is prompt and there is a good range of beers available. Have eaten here a few times and they can comfortably deal with large group bookings.

Cannot recommend enough, food was so delicious, hearty and fresh. The staff (Ellie, Beth and the chef George) were amazing, everyone in our party gave the food 10/10. Lovely atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Dropped in for lunch without booking. We were put in the snug which we loved because it was quiet. Staff very attentive and friendly. 3 of us ordered roast beef Sunday lunch. It was excellent value for money, 5 different vegetables and plenty of them, the roast beef was cooked perfectly. It’s on our list to visit again when we’re in the area. Would highly recommend.

We arrived unannounced, it was very busy, the landlady managed to get us a table for 4. She came to take our drinks order and told us as they were so busy it will take a while with our food order, fine we said, we're in no hurry. We had a lovely time, good food (over 60's menu) great ales - London Pride-. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well done to all the staff. Peter Jordan

We had Sunday lunch at my favourite village pub with two great friends on one of the hottest days of the year. Pub was not to busy. I suspect lots of folk were st home having a BBQ. We had a nice table in the conservatory next to the doors. Bar service was great with a nice pint of Landlord. We all had roast lamb with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese and nice crisp Yorkshire. I followed this up with a very tasty peach crumble and custard. Great staff and lovely food. Will have to return soon.

Food is nothing to write home about and wine list non existent. Service a bit hit and miss but more miss unfortunately. The place is pretty buzzy and has a nice atmosphere. I wouldn’t choose this place for a special meal out but it does the job for cheap pub grub.

Friendly staff but not as organised or self motivated as they should be, a lot of confusion . Starters was loverly local pate was full of flavour and tasted good . Main course wasn’t brilliant a average dinner at best . The mains Didn’t come out all together as one would expect , by the time all the main courses was served 6 of us had already finished . Desert was Desert. Can’t really go wrong Except one person in the party didn’t get one as was forgotten . Cheese cake wasn’t cold . Also took 40 minutes for desert to come . Did get a 10 percent discount at the end with an apology and was very polite . Wouldn’t recommend going to the George when it is busy . I don’t leave reviews , but after my Experience at this establishment, I thought I better.

Nine of us dined at the George, Friday evening. Pleasent seating in the conservancy, nice drop of Doombar or Landlord on offer with the other standard beers. Good food, I had a very tasty Hunters Chicken. Gammon and Egg was popular as were the Rump steaks. Service was excellent, food being presented promptly and glasses being refilled as often as required. Great evening. looking forward to our next one.;

We had the most delicious Sunday roast, which came with lashings of gravy and a hearty sized Yorkshire. Our young waiter Titus offered the most excellent service and nothing was to much trouble. Service with a smile throughout our experience. Compliments to the chef! We will be coming again soon.

This was my first visit and I had a lovely breakfast. I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Royale and my friend had the breakfast sandwich. There was a generous amount of salmon, the sauce was lovely and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed it. I also had a pot of tea which gave me about 3 cups worth, and was served with milk, sugar, and a lotus biscoff biscuit. My total bill was £16.30 which I thought was reasonable. My friend's sandwich was huge for the £8 price and she said everything in it was great. Will definitely be back for breakfast and perhaps also to try their main dinner menu

A promotion leaflet received by post offering 30% off mains at Middlemore Farm was too good an opportunity, particularly when Tom Shepherd’s ‘best ever pub pie’ was the marketing headline. Whilst knowing Daventry town we had not heard of this pub, an attractively converted farmhouse set in a relatively new-build area north of the town. Our evening begins - despite promoting the bar as ‘the heart of the pub’ under the heading ‘whatever your tipple, we’ve got a drink waiting for you’ I was surprised when asking what draught ales were available to be told that there was a choice of one, namely, Pedigree, as all the other beers were bottled; a glass of chardonnay was also not available, only by the bottle – so a poor start to our evening. My wife ordered the pan-fried sea bass and prawns, but was told there were no prawns available, being substituted with fried scampi in a small separate bowl. The two pieces of sea bass were delicious but the accompaniment of a large quality of fried potatoes and the unwelcome scampi substitute just didn’t go well with the sea bass, so were left. My ‘best’ pie was very tasty with the delicious red wine sauce and the excellent accompaniments of soft mashed potato, green beans, carrots and peas, however, the pie was spoilt by the tough pastry, a softer pastry would have made the ‘best’ title, allowing the pie to fall apart without effort for the excellent ingredients to spill out. I am sure Tom Shepherd’s expert creation wasn’t made with too much flour making the pastry hard so the fault must lie with the preparation/cooking, being left just too long in the oven to over-harden the pastry. An excellent pie unfortunately spoiled by the cooking – Tom Shepherd take note, created right by you, cooked wrong by others. A visit to their kitchen by Tom Shepherd would be useful, but a return visit to Middlemore Farm will not be in our diary.

Unbelievable rude staff pretending to be connaisseur. They clearly never been in a country where they know what ☕️is. Staff member gave rude and not customer friendly comments. Shocked by the attitude.
