Just had two of Weatherspoons 8oz steak menu, it was wonderful cooked to perfection. Highly recommended together with a Merlot Wine. Go upstairs not so busy and great A/C keeping you nice and cool in today's temperature 32c.

Cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for here but the basic food does represent good value for money. A good range of real ales. Service is average.Downstairs gets very crowded and noisy . We dined upstairs which was much calmer and more civilised Toilets are on the first floor

Waited 50 minutes for breakfast with no communication from any staff. No apologies for the wait time when food finally arrived.

Or order (for 4) consisted of 3 good dishes and one that was very poor . Thee Gourmet 8oz Sirloin steak was 30% gristle. It was a shame as the person who ordered it - it was their birthday . Hopefully the kitchen noticed the gristle returning on the plate and made a note of it because it wasn't cheap compared to other items on the menu. (£14.54).

Good good, good drinks, excellent service. Not busy at all. Fabulous value too. Will be returning! Special thanks to the young lady, working upstairs, with several walkie talkies strapped to her belt. She was lovely, friendly, happy! Delightful lady!

Not sure what people are complaining about in the reviews this is a pub, that serves food, not a restaurant, there are no 'waiters'! Honestly, great food, never had a bad dish, great staff - George and Laney in particular - been going here since it opened and have been to some dodgy Wetherspoons, but this isn't one!!

I tried the cod and chips and a pint of Ruddles at The George. I got what I expected and enjoyed my lunch. The staff were polite and efficient. Overall: a well maintained and run establishment which is value for money.

The Manager is so rude every time we go in this place, absolutely disgusting behaviour from him. He’s rudeness has happened on more than one occasion and when we were in the pub other people sat next to us said he is a nasty man and the pub has completely gone down hill. Unfortunately it is also rubbing of on his staff who have to make an effort to serve you! Been going there many years and not once had to complain… absolutely disgusting behaviour from the bar manager Mario and will not be coming back any time soon. It was such a lovely place to eat and see friends.

I had a chicken and chips the chicken came out all slimy and uncooked no one came round to the table to ask how our meal was had to get a waiters attention told him the food is uncooked and I actually feel sick. He took it away. Then 5 minutes after a barman came over said this is how we cook it. I said I am very unhappy with the food then he walked away. No one else came back so I stood outside the kitchen and asked for the manager. A waiter said the manager is here can you speak to her. I said who do you think you are talking to her. He apologised I said I have had a bad meal and now you are speaking to me like this you need to have some costumer service training. Kim manager gave me a refund and apologized for her staff for talking to me like this.

Breakfast wraps bland, bacon overcooked and all our table orders came out at different times- part of meal was forgotten so everything else went cold while we waited for it. Friendly staff and clean toilets - also rather dusty bottles over the top shelf behind the bar

Visited this pub this evening and the service was one of the worst I have ever received. Young, brown haired girl on shift spoke to myself and my family horrendously, so rude and had the worst attitude. We were told we had to leave by 9 due to their license, although this has never been the case on any of our previous visits. Either make this clearer to your staff as there’s a huge lack of knowledge on this, or make it clearer before I give you my money. We were not told to politely leave, she told us ‘get out’ and stood at our table until we did so. Although, there was children still in the pub clearly under 18. Even a toddler running around. No one in my party was underage, but these literal CHILDREN were never told otherwise or kicked out when we were. I will never be returning to this pub and will do all I can to get word around about how awful this place is. Discrimination shown at its finest.

Came from Reading to Staines to visit some good friends. Initially weren’t to enthusiastic to go to a Wetherspoon as we tried other Wetherspoons before and didn’t really like it. We sat on the top bar and ordered food and drinks and Marco served us (I think he was the manager) and was very polite and his service was really good, came to check on our food a couple times and on the desserts, I think he might have sensed there was a “special” occasion for us. The guys at the bar was also very good and the drinks were pretty quick even tho it was busy, the atmosphere was nice as the staff seemed all very happy and with a smile on their faces, they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The food wasn’t amazing but it was up to expectations. Only thing we didn’t like is that there wasn’t any music but a part from that it was an unexpectedly lovely experienced so thank you everyone.

This place just gets worse ! We used to eat there every week till it started going downhill , it just got worse and worse ,raw uncooked eggs ,long waits for cold food , the Accessible Toilet is often dirty etc ,so we started going in now and again hoping for change , sadly we got that , it went even further downhill , today was just the last straw . As usual out of stock items , knowing how awful the Breakfasts are , dried out bacon ,raw eggs , ask for a cooked yolk and the whole thing gets cremated , we decided on Toast and Coffee , 40 minutes later one lot of stone cold Toast on a stone cold plate arrived after I’d asked the Bar Staff where our order was , later the other portion arrived in the same state . Everyone in the place was complaining of cold food and as usual cold plates , one .Man gave his Breakfast back because it was so cold it was inedible . We go to Wetherspoons all over the Country from Glossop to Street and everywhere else , and never do we have to endure such awful Service and bad food ! This place needs putting on special measures or closing down before someone becomes Ill through bad food management .We certainly won’t go there again and I hope others will stay away too . One Star for the Coffee the only hot thing in the place .

Swore we would never visit again after weeks of"items off menu" or waiting ages for food. Today we made the mistake of going again after deciding things couldn't get any worse, it did! No sauce for many dishes and 30 minutes wait for two slices of toast which eventually turned out stone cold and soggy :-( If you need a pint and whisky chaser for breakfast this is the place for you. If you need food you will be better going to McDonald's. I suspect this place is allowed to open early because it serves good. Believe me it doesn't! Abandon hope all you who enter here.

Worst meal of my life, dirty grill left gross tasting bar marks, everything super well done and like boot leather. Putrid and never had such filth. 12 years of kitchen experience to Michelin head chef level, expected crappy cheap food due to price but it fell so far below that! Genuinely and legitimately the most desgusting dry inedible garbage iv ever had. Total disgrace to catering and I hope CMI do emergancy inspection ASAP as I witnessed cross contamination and no allergy protection either. Didn't even ask how I want my beef cooked!!! Wow!!!

The blonde lady who served us was so smiley and happy she was interactive and had great customer service, love this pub and me and my mates come here all the time !

3.5 star I would give . Bcos you won’t get cheaper beer anywhere else than here . Food is okey . But most important it give the good vibe of a proper pub . The pub is dirty and plates and tables rarely cleaned. That aside, the cocktails and drink selection are fantastic. It’s a must visit if you’re eating out or drinking on a budget. It’s in a great location and you can use the app to order.
