Arrived at 16:00hrs with a party of 5. Very quick and friendly service as we all had our drinks, cocktails and food by 17:10. Lovely atmosphere, great food. We all felt we were in JA The best Caribbean food ever

Poor service. I waited almost 2 hours to be severed. Should have left but it was too late in the evening to go somewhere else. I knew we should have gone rum kitchen the food taste better.

the curry goat was good but not enough gravy should give extra on side. portion of crumble not enough custard and the mac and cheese overcooked.

Precious the waitress was so kind and sweet to all of us for my cousin’s birthday celebration. She provided some great insight on the drinks and food that were top tier also. Great energy and joyful attitude she brought every time to our table.

Haven’t been to Yahso since before Covid and it was better than the last time! Everything was perfect. Food, ambience, service, all seamless. We were warmly greeted and Precious took our orders. The cocktails were as good as i remembered and the food was delicious. My Dad, cousin and I had the soup, ackee and saltfish cigars and prawns for starters then steamed seabass and fried seabass with sides of rice and peas, sweet potato fries and plantain. The food has always been good here and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was brought out in a timely manner. Precious and Victoria came to ask if we were happy with our food and if we required anything else. Ellie was lovely too and all three ladies served very well. I’m glad Yahso has stepped up with their service and we will definitely be back!!!

I was very hungry, I spent £31 on food. I threw out the food because it had no taste. The following day, I informed the manager, however, she was powerless to take any action. She wanted to see images. The food had no flavour, and the customer service was unhelpful.

Shaielle is very great at her work,her customer approach is outstanding, her taljs to me asking if I enjoyed my meal. Excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

What a fantastic restaurant, we didn’t book a table but Victoria was very accommodating and done everything to find space eventually she got us book in , Ellie at the bar was very good she made me a fabulous cocktails great stuff , only downfall no ackee 😰😰

Ellie and Precious were the staff members we interacted with and together they made our experience a great one. They were extremely pleasant and professional in their approach. I’ve been coming here for a while and the food has been consistently good - the festivals are one of my favourites. The drinks are great also. Would highly recommend dining here. I wish they would add the lamb chops and yam mash to their delivery menu.

I booked a table for my me and my family on a Monday evening and we enjoyed everything about the experience. The food was great and the service we received from Rihanna was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will most definitely be going back.

This was my birthday dinner we all ordered different items at the same time asked for starters and main to come come all together My friend ordered the fish and he finished his main meal before they was reminded he also ordered the yam mash. The rest of my party received the main and starters 15 minutes later by the way the mains should be called meat of fish dishes as the curry goat came on its own and rice had to be ordered as a side that arrived 15 minutes after the goat and was the scrapping from the bottom of the pot hard and not washed the goat had no bones this was good however also had no flavour. The jerk wings were nice after I asked for the sauce to be removed. I asked for the service charge to be removed as the waitress was rude and not helpful. The whole experience was very poor apart for the yahso happy birthday that was a lovely part of the Evening. Such a shame the restaurant has has a lot of thought put in to it but the food and service is not good.

The food and cocktails are excellent, but the slow service is unacceptable. Always check your receipt before paying, as I was wrongfully charged for an item I didn’t receive. Off-street parking is available free after 6 pm. Wheelchair-friendly.

Yesterday 12/04/2025 (HAIR IN MY FOOD) I went to eat at Yahso with my sister and my son. I have been here before about 10 times in total spreading out through months, service was abit slow however we waited patiently. Food came about 30/40mins after order. MY LAMB CHOPS CAME I STARTED EATING ONLY TO FIND HAIR IN MY FOOD, I LET A STAFF MEMBER KNOW, MY FOOD WAS TAKEN AND AFTER ANOTHER 30MINS REPLACED. I WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED AS THE SIDES I ORDERED WHICH WAS 4 OTHERS WERE COLD BY THEN. BILL TIME CAME THE BILL WAS THE FULL AMOUNT. I REQUESTED FOR THE MANAGER A YOUNG GIRL BY THE NAME OF PRECIOUS CAME SHE WAS NOT APOLOGETIC SHE HAD RATHER A CHILDISH GRIN ON HER FACE WHICH WAS NOT COOL VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. PRECIOUS EXPRESSED SHE COULD ONLY TAKE 20% OFF MY FOOD NOT THE ENTIRE BILL. IN MY EYES I BELIEVE MY FOOD ONLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED. PRECIOUS WAS DISCUSSING WHAT HAPPENED WITH HER YOUNG COLLEGUES AND THEY ALL KEPT STARING IT WAS SO EMBARRASSING. Went there yesterday birthday celebrations for my son, table wasn't ready it was busy but didn't excuse the lack of professionalism. Food was good but very expensive how can you bring out a starter for 2 and forget the 3rd person.also when you get your main course it's served 20 min apart not brought out together. I want to support caribbean restaurant but it seems this lack of professionalism is the reason I will go elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend to my worse enemy.

My good American family friend bought me here for a dinner and I can tell you it's the best place for caribbean food. Atmosphere made me feel I am at home in the Caribbean. The menu description is brilliant. Cocktails and rum punch started flowing at the bar puts you in the mood for the food. I recommend this restaurant 100%. I thank hostess for a wonderful job providing such an excellent service and creating the cool and wonderful atmosphere .Really the place to sit eat relax. The young working staff there are really professional and know how to show their display true hospitality to their customers 100%.

Beautiful night at Yah so we went to enjoy evening my brother 60th So made 2 bookings for this weekend Beautiful food but won't be booking again as when you book party 12 you get 2hrs so you don't really get time to relax and eat by time we turn we needed to go another booking last time we went spent £498.00 this time £390 so if 4 peeps sit for 2 hrs and you expect 12 to eat with kids in 2hrs take my business elsewhere but great service and food management surely you could say 3 hrs for 12 party and over if they spending what do you think as check my account we book large and the food is delicious

Me and my friend paid a spontaneous visit on a busy Friday evening and it was a very pleasant experience. The food took a little while to come, but the staff was very friendly, the food is full of flavours, everything tasted fresh and was very very well seasoned. The mac and the "rastaman blunt" was my personal favourite. I'll definitely be back again.

Upon arrival we were able to walk in and be seated without a reservation (however if you are a big group I would advise that you book ahead). We were greeted by a lovely host called Jasmine, who was super professional, and provided us with a warm welcome. The atmosphere of the place is great, food and drinks also amazing. They have options for vegetarians too. I would definitely recommend. There was another lady who worked there who was also extremely lovely. I didn’t get her name however she was mixed with dark hair. Thank you to her and Jazmine for being wonderful hosts

Came on 31/1/25 for a birthday and everything was incredible, the food was amazing, stand outs were the mac and cheese it's rediculous just get it and thank me later and the sea bass was just perfect. The staff were all really friendly and our server "Precious" was awesome. Best sit down Jamaica resturant I've been to anywhere in London. My only comment would be the drinks took a little longer then I would have liked to come out, but overal it was still 5 stars.

More like Yah No Carribbean! The food yesterday was not enjoyable and considering the price was definitely not value for money. The goat curry tasted like frozen lamb chunks cooked in sauce. No bones or fat to really deliver any flavour to the sauce... the rice and peas small portion for the price - also not proper rice and peas. The prawns had too much chilli, Mac and cheese had way too much garlic. The food was luke warm when it arrived and was not good quality or authentic Carribbean food.

I have visited this place before and always left satisfied. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. I ordered the oxtail, and it was unacceptable. Parts of it were warm, while others were cold. The oxtail itself was extremely gristly with very little meat, and the flavor was lacking. The coleslaw also fell short—it tasted like store-bought, straight out of a packet, rather than homemade. It makes me wonder if they simply purchase it locally and resell it for profit. That said, the food presentation was nice, and the staff were lovely. However, I was deeply let down by the oxtail dish. Would this stop me from returning? No. But I believe feedback like this is essential to help improve standards. Please don’t take your customers for granted—heat food properly and maintain quality!

This is the best West Indian restaurant in South London. Yes, it is pricey, but worth every penny. I normally don’t go to the same Caribbean restaurant twice as normally the food, the service, or both are not good, but I’ve been here multiple times. Friendly staff, good food, the rum punch, the atmosphere. If it’s your birthday they make it special. Please keep up the high standards you’ve set and you’ll have customer for life.

My first time in London, and I met VAL, the bartender, she served amazing drinks, and she made sure to keep them coming, come once, come twice. The service was amazing!!!!!

The food ordered was a dream. Presentation is appetising. Recommend the Ackee spring Rolls, sweet potatoe fries from this order. The rice & peas, Jerk chicken, mac & cheese from a previous order - would also recommend. Definitely would recommend this restaurant, it's authentic, a true taste of the Caribbean in London. Service varies from staff to staff, some staff are experienced & can maintain their professionalism and other staff appear not to be judging from our interactions with them. When the restaurant was busy during this visit some staff appeared flustered & under serious pressure which made them behave rather snappy/irritated & in an unprofessional rush - making mistakes. Other staff were great & able to work under pressure with a professional ease. I shall put this down to the nature of the business? Atmosphere was soothing, relaxed, fresh and the restaurant was clean. Cutlery was clean as well as seating/table. There's a hygiene area in the middle of the restaurant where you can wash your hands before you eat without having to access the toilets to wash your hands. Birthday package is really cool and adds something special to the memorable experience. Service charge was more than usually expected, not sure what the % is.

We have been twice to your restaurant, and on our first visit, our orders were taken but we had to wait a long time because they lost our order. When our Oder finally arrived it was worth the wait. We gave recommended this restaurant to most of our friends and family. Me and my husband visited again last Saturday and the restaurant supervisors or managers were so rude and dismissive of us when we asked if we could change our table. We were seated next to the door. We were very cold because every time the door was opened the cold air blowing in on us and I have arthritis in my hip and spine and have a walking aid. The supervisors response was to refuse to speak to us and sent our server over to speak to us and she was very embarrassed because of their response to us, and could only apologise for them. There were a lot of free tables available that we could we could have been seated at. We love the food and the atmosphere there, but feel your staff is only interested in, group bookings or celebrities? Am I wrong in thinking people of a mature age or couples are not welcome in your restaurant?

Went here with a few friends yesterday. This place was recommended to me. Firstly, when I walked in, I noticed the vibes. They had music playing in the background. It had a cosy feel to it. Loved the decor. The is a Jamican food restaurant, hence the name and the decor. For starters, we ordered the ackee and saltfish and the calaloo spring rolls. Which was tasty serves with a chilli dip. For mains, I orederd the lamb chops with yam mash and spinach with a mint jerk sauce in the side. My friends ordered the curry goat and tossed rice and peas, which consisted of gunga peas with veg. Both mains were so tasy the lamb chops were just how I liked it and you get plenty. By the time we all got halfway through our mains, we were full. We also ordered for sides. Plantain, Festivals, Mac N cheese, avocado, and mixed veg. It was so much food. The food was enjoyable and seasoned so well. They have great cocktails here. Even though I dont drink alcohol, my friends loved it. The only negative was that the service was a bit slow, which we mentioned to the manager who apologised. This was partly because they had 3 birthday celebrations there. This restaurant closes at 2am at least on a Saturday. Our table was booked for 8pm, and we left out there at 1am. The food stops serving about 11.30ish when the music style changes and you just continue to enjoy the rest of the night. I would definitely recommend it, but please book as it gets very busy.

I was at yah'so last night for my girlfriend's birthday and she had a wicked time. We enjoys the food we enjoyed the drinks Yah'so is a vibe and I always recommend Yahso to all my friends and family. I will be back again And if your event think about getting the strawberry daiquiri and Lobster 🦞 GET IT ! You won't regret it x

I visited Yah-So on a Friday evening on my sister's recommendation. I was impressed with the food choice and quality and the cocktails were tasty and came with a kick. There's a great ambiance with a lively and capitivating vibe. One couldn't help but jig up as the music selection was sweet. Suggested improvements: a starter dish arrived on a chipped plate which wasn't great presentationally; and the music a tad too loud so sometimes it could be difficult to converse. All in all an enjoyable evening -well done and thanks Yah-So. Keep up the great work. I'll be back soon!

Love love love this place! I've only been twice once back in 2018 and again today and the service was exceptional. Food absolutely top notch and I am very hard to please!!! Took my niece out for a celebration lunch had the steamed fish I wish I took a take away back to Kent with me! Will try and pass by more often when I'm in the area. My niece who is Gen Z loved it also! Well done! Keep up the good work. Will defo spread the word like an evangelists lol!

Took my family there who are visiting from the Netherlands. We were given a warm welcome and our waitress (Precious) was attentive throughout our visit. Food was fresh and absolutely delicious and portions so generous that we had to take some home boxed up! Vegetable curry was particularly tasty, spring rolls too, and my relatives loved their chicken and ribs. Thank you, Yah-so.

I visited Yah-So yesterday and I highly recommend everyone to visit. There food was amazing specially I tried the Mac and cheese which was 10/10 along with the jerk chicken which was delicious.

Pros: the food was very authentic last night more than usual. Yam mash always delicious (but small). Cons: overpriced, the portion of rice n peas is small and not enough to compliment the meat (oxtail or curry goat). £20 for one portion of oxtail/small rice n peas! Consistency: hit and miss last night's curry goat was on point, but has watery sauce on previous orders! Overall: need to be more consistent for the high price. Have an option for proper rice n peas and provide decent portion sizes .

I recently dined at yah-so Caribbean in Thornton heath and had an outstanding experience. The ambiance is vibrant and welcoming, with a perfect blend of modern decor and Caribbean flair. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food was the real star of the evening. I started with the lamb cutlets, which were perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of spice. My daughter had the curried goat, which was tender and flavorful, accompanied by white rice that was cooked to perfection. The drink menu also deserves a mention. Although the food tasted good, despite being over priced and the portions a little on the small side, the atmosphere and service can only be described as distinctly unwelcoming. My family and I are not in a hurry to return specifically because of the unfriendly attitude of the servers. If they cannot meet, greet, and attend to guests with a smile and pleasant demeanor then they should find a new profession.
