Gemmas At Waytown in North Devon

Lovely way to start Mothers Day with my son. Excellent breakfast with excellent coffee served by great people in a very pleasant environment. Easy access and parking, what more could you ask for? Well done.

Those who write "very good" are underselling the place, it is brilliant. Whatever you want, including substitutions is cooked and delivered to your table by two very pleasant young ladies with a smile. Poached instead of fried? Of course, madam. No mushrooms but two hash browns, no problem. Just pure customer service with a smile. Great coffee too. Many thanks.

We are staying at a nearby at a touring site and noticed the sign on the road so thought we would give it a try. We had a fantastic all day breakfast , perfectly cooked with high quality ingredients. Lovely and hot and a nice big pot of tea. Great service with a smile and extremely reasonably priced. We have been twice so far and intend to visit again. Highly recommended. Thankyou.

Two blokes seeking a good Full English on a weekend break! Found this place near to where we were staying. Gemma and her staff were all friendly. Loads of parking outside with a big, clean dining area inside. Breakfast was genuinely one of the best I have had for a while. Hot, perfectly cooked and really nice quality sausage and bacon. I would have liked one more piece of toast but that’s probably not necessary as it was a decent size breakfast! Great place for anyone passing or nearby - looked like they had high chairs for kids and seemed like anyone would be welcome!

Great cafe or restaurant whichever you call it. Food was good and fresh, service quite quick, and not expensive. Toilets were a bit disappointing, could do with a scrub and a coat of paint,The ejector seat needed squaring up and tightening, lighting was a bit hit and miss. Always the last place the cleaners look. At last the potholes in car park had been filled, last time we visited was in heavy rain and risked drowning in one or two

Called in for a quick coffee just after 10 AM. Cafe seemed to be geared up for breakfasts, with many local workmen enjoying fry ups. Wanted something light to have with coffee, but nothing displayed on the counter (despite photos of cakes on this site). When we asked, were told they had "Bakewell Blondie". This was very nice, but a choice would have been better.

An excellent cafe with easy access from the main road. The breakfasts we ordered arrived promptly and beautifully cooked. Friendly staff and very good value for money. It really doesn’t get better than this. Perfection.

Terrific breakfast place in countryside just outside Combe Martin - the turn-off’s a bit sudden, so slow down as soon as you see the sign. Great coffee and cooked breakfasts. Friendly staff, good table separation and dog-friendly.

What an absolute fab find! My partner, myself and our puppy went for brunch before going for a walk around a local national trust property and we can’t rate this cafe enough!! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful to us and our dog. I am gluten free and was really impressed with the options available. Our order was taken quickly and our drinks arrived after a few minutes. My inner child came out as I had the deluxe milkshake, and it was amazing!! Our full english breakkies came over soon after and were so tasty!! We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Gemma's Cafe was a lifesaver on 2nd January. We unfortunately got our car stuck in a flooded road nearby and turned up very wet and slightly distressed! We were offered coffee, warmth, landline phone and lots of helpful advice. The food looked good and the atmosphere was great with lots of people offering help. We would like to say thank you to Gemma and her husband with the tractor that helped get the car out of the water.

This cafe is a gem ! We go there has a couple with large dog ( well behaved) sometimes two dogs , always for breakfast, there is never anything to complain about great food good coffee,really friendly efficient staff !! Thank you

Although we live in North Devon we discovered this little gem by accident. Want a snack, meal or coffee and you are near Blackmoor Gate then pop into this lovely restaurant and coffee house. Where is it? Traveling from Blackmoor Gate towards Combe Martin it is on the right just before the Kentisbury turning.

Four of us had a breakfast here whilst staying nearby on holiday. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and food was cooked well. They do takeaway for also. Premises were clean. Unfortunately they are not open for evening dinner, which is a shame as I'm sure holiday makers would visit. Well worth a visit

Lovely welcoming place, walked straight into a dining area and only discovered the tea room at the end. Lady serving us was so friendly. Loved our dog and kept him in a supply of treats. Breakfast was nice, just what we needed on a rainy morning. Sausages were yummy. Would recommend.

First time here. Sure we'll go again. My friend especially liked the All Day Vegetarian Breakfast. Plenty of sitting indoors and out. Countryside setting.

We have been past many times saying we must stop for a bite to eat and today we did, certainly didn’t disappoint, delicious food, my husband said the best breakfast he had had in a long time, I had the quiche, salad delicious, thoroughly recommend will be back very soon thank you

We all had full English which was delicious! Great value for money and nice atmosphere. One of our party is gluten free and they had gluten free sausages but no gluten free bread, but were more than happy to exchange toast for another item in the breakfast. Dog friendly!

Delicious food and friendly service. We had a Breakfast baguette with bacon egg and hash brown and a medium breakfast with 2 teas everything was cooked very nicely and a very nice cup of tea. Exactly what you need for a good start to the day would recommend.

Fantastic full English breakfast served all day in lovely surroundings, just outside of Combe Martin. Friendly and attentive staff, food was served quickly and was fresh and the best quality 👌 for a great price. Would highly recommend a visit, and will definitely call again when I'm next holidaying in the area

The breakfast here is 10/10! Served all day too. We were recommended here so visited before traveling home ( combe martin back to manchester) and we were so glad we stopped here before our long journey. Really nice setting, there was not one item on the breakfast I didn't go 'yum' at! The lady who served us was really friendly too. Really great service, amazing food and lovely setting. Would 100% come back if venture back down south. PS I think people are positing their reviews for this cafe on the wrong cafe, there is another cafe by the same name in Barnstaple thats closed, I accidently wrote this on there and think others are doing the same. Could be why there's only 4 reviews on here!

Very friendly staff answered a email night before to confirm OK for our dog. Had a lovely full English breakfast very quick service plenty of parking and very clean thru out.

Had breakfast with my granddaughter at Gemmas,this morning.What a find,really quick service,fabulous food,well presented and cooked to perfection.The staff were very friendly,and the prices good. Well done all at Gemmas.
