Gelato in Liverpool

This is our families favourite place for deserts and ice cream. If we go for a meal we will skip desert and drive here for an ice cream, all kinds of flavours for a treat. Family favourites - Ferraro, bubble gum, mint choc chip, cookies and cream and we have one who just asks for a surprise flavour each time. This venue is always very clean and the staff are always friendly. The portions are a generous scoop so I feel we get good value. You can choose from a variety of cones and they also do the bubble waffle deserts where you add your chosen ice cream Scoop and sauces.

This place is a dream. Loads of choices and having gluten free flavours as well gluten free cones was a game changer for one of us who is coeliac. They were more than happy to get us ice cream from the back for peace of mind over any cross contamination risks but it sounded like they were in top of allergens anyway. We helped ourselves to two delicious white chocolate ice creams and a pretty damn good kinder bueno ice cream as well. Bliss.

I waited half an hour for a "sorbet smoothie" which was literally sorbet mixed with lukewarm water and blended. I don't know how they managed, but after I received it it was like lukewarm diluting juice. The staff member there when we arrived was so slow despite the queue and quite rude to other people in front of me who couldn't be served ice cream because it was.. too cold. Then another member of staff came to help. She was ruder but efficient. She scared me so I didn't take my "sorbet" back. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. She was probably grumpy because the whole thing seemed like a shambolic nightmare.

The sign said it opened at 9.30 we went at 11.05 at the door was closed! When we got inside we asked for waffles which the staff replied it was too hot to make them… seriously!!! More like too lazy to make them! Another time we went the ice creams were dripping off the cone the ice creams wasn’t frozen properly again the staff said it was because it was too hot!! Won’t be returning!!

I’ve creams were tasty, we arrived just before closing so flavours were limited and there was no cookie dough which seems to be a speciality. Seeing other reviews I can relate re the staff, they weren’t rude to us but they didn’t match the standards of the food itself in terms of speed and service.

This was my 5th visit to Gelato. I chose the PB&J milkshake as I had enjoyed this last time. Once again I was very happy. There was no strawberry sauce to make it so they substituted with raspberry. And Sonny makes the best milkshake 😋

The portion sizes in here have gone right down hill, got a 3 scoop tub (well that’s what I ordered) £5.50. It was flat to the rim, I said is that all? He said yes. Won’t be going again and I was a regular only live around the corner. When I tried to scoop it the tub was full of air so don’t be fooled by the picture

Went for an ice cream with my son, they ice cream was very nice the coffee too and the staff were nice and approachable, highly recommended.

Unbelievable experience. Asked for strawberry Cornett not in stock. Asked for raspberry and ice cream and came back with a strawberry sorbet. Said I didn’t ask for that. Bearing in mind the long queue the young girl with long dark hairs starts arguing saying that I did ask for that. This went on for 3-4 minutes so I just left with my granddaughter. Shame you can’t get better staff or get the ones you have hospitality training. In the event I did happen to change my mind. Why should it be such a big deal! Typical Scouse ignorant behaviour!

Had two ice creams today. Only two people are allowed in the shop at any one time and hand sanitiser is accessible. We had mango + watermelon sorbet and bounty + pistachio ice cream, both lovely.

We often visit Gelato a family as its our favourite ice-cream place. Average cost of 4 ice-creams for us as a family is around £10-£12 and we have no problem paying this as the ice-cream is fab!

Server had a poor attitude to customers and needs to be addressed, huffing isn't cool in a business ..ice cream is lovely ..

I popped into gelato today with my two young children for an ice cream. The choice, and flavours are great! Very friendly service from girl at till and then I also had a brief chat with female owner, who was so warm Welcoming and chatty. We will be back. Thank you for the temptation!

Every time I visit Lark Lane a stop at Gelato is a must. The ice cream is to die for, lots of awesome flavours to choose from. 1 scoop £2.50, double scoop £4.50. Fresh waffle cones and generous scoops. My latest visit I chose malteser ice cream and biscoff and honeycomb. Unreal.

This is a perfect little ice cream shop! Its always queued out the door of a weekend. The service is fast and efficient and the staff are always lovely. The ice cream is fantastic too!

All ice creams freshly made the shop by Adam who works there and in this pic is a Watermelon ice cream ! £2.50 for this would you believe it ? So delicious ! To be honest I was about to go to London and will pop to Dominique Ansel for his limited edition Watermelon ice cream in Chelsea then I tried this and will stick with Gelato Lark lane to avoid my disappointment of going there ,Dominique A ,and they don’t actually have it on the day ! Oh smoothies is divine too 😘💗
