My 8yr old loves coming to play and buy pokemon. The staff are so amazing and very knowledgeable. D&D and magic games look good and we’re curious to try them next.

A huge hidden gem in Chester that has the most welcoming atmosphere, a very safe place for everyone, amazing milkshakes & free board games to play. My son attends nearly every Saturdays, mainly to play Pokémon, but also to socialise with some amazing people! Geek retreat is for everyone, so if you’re in Chester pop in, grab a board game & chill for a bit with a yummy latte… they also have ‘free’ colouring for children too! The team are awesome also, what’s not to love :)

The staff hee are always happy to help and are a great group. The stock they have is great and good value. They have a solid selection of board games to play while you eat or drink. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants somewhere to chill with mates or family

A lovely unique addition to Chester. My eldest daughter loves all things gaming and has recently been into playing pokemon, both myself and her dad have brought her here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We've sat and played the card game and she's had lots of help off the lovely staff who've also played the game with her. The milkshakes are to die for! And the clubs that they do are well worth the money, we've recently done the board game craft over the summer holidays. They have a switch to play, which she loves as we don't have one at home.

Called in today (second visit) to play pokemon with our son. Last time we came one of the staff members played a full match and explained how to play the game. Our son loves it here, theres so many different things to do, but just having others to talk about pokemon with makes up for us not really knowing much. Staff are helpful, and really knowledgable, and really interact. There were a wide range of ages in today, grandparents with grandkids, younger and teens. Hubby was happy with the wifi and glass bottle cokes!! Lots of different events on the board too, seems theres always something going on.

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...

I recently visited the Panini Box and had a lovely Caesar salad that exceeded my expectations! The crisp romaine was perfectly complemented by a creamy dressing, crunchy croutons, and just the right amount of Parmesan. It was a refreshing meal that made my day. My husband often goes there for lunch and always enjoys the variety of delicious paninis and sandwiches they offer. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly, making every visit pleasant. If you’re looking for a great place to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely meal, I highly recommend Panini Press!

Gorgeous location, gorgeous wine. Ordered a cheese and got a very stingey portion for the price (£4.50). Waitress was very gracious when this was raised, offered to add cheese to the portion, I asked to take it off the bill and return the cheese and was immediately accommodated. Very friendly staff and lovely wine but the portion of food was unsatisfactory

This cafe is awesome. Staff always so friendly, food and drinks always lovely and it’s always immaculately clean no matter how busy. Love the live bus time table and the fact you can have a conversation without being overheard as the seating allows for room and to pullout chairs etc Lots of natural light. It’s by go to place if I treat myself to a coffee when I’m out. Thank you so much for your friendly service
