Fantastically good food. Perfectly prepared. Cozy place

I really enjoyed our meal here. We went for the pre theatre meal which made it good value, and we did have wine.

I had dinner here and the restaurant is lovely and the staff really nice. I ordered a 300g rump steak rare and it came medium rare at best and was a bit chewy, and the knife they provide you to cut it is awful. As the sides I chose the chips (which come with chimichurri salt and are absolutely delicious, the best part of the meal) and truffle mac and cheese (I hated them, they barely tasted like cheese or truffle, just like butter, and I think that they forgot to season them as they didn’t even seem to have salt). With the steak they provide chimichurri sauce, which was okay. For dessert I ordered the tray baked cookie dough, which has chocolate chips, dulce de leche and vanilla ice cream, and I enjoyed it, even though I would personally put a bigger portion of ice cream as the cookie by itself is a bit dry. Finally I found the water quite expensive (5£ per bottle), as well as charging for ketchup, mayo and a bigger gratuity than the one listed on the menu (13%) a bit of a rip off. For the paid price I’d look into a better alternative.

Not worth the hype. Had better steaks and much cheaper & accommodating restaurants. Would sooner stay home and cook my own steak rather than this overpriced rubbish

Great food : my ribeye was fab. Excellent service. But I do wish they'd stop trying to top up my glass; I do know how to pour all by myself, and I ordered a carafe cos I knew I wanted a bit more than just one glass

I couldn’t recommend this place more, celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here and the waiter we had was absolutely incredible and so kind. The steak was absolutely amazing, we both ordered a 300g ribeye and it was one of the best/the best steak we’ve ever eaten. I also requested for something to be brought out for his birthday and it couldn’t have been better, he ended up receiving a biscoff cheesecake free of charge, and compared to other places in Manchester, the portion was great compared to a 2 by 2 inch brownie we are used to. The location, restaurant and food were amazing as always. A big shout out to Steve one of the servers, he went above an beyond to accommodate us. There was one member of the team who served us, Luke, he had a serious attitude problem from the off. I did want to speak to the manager about how he treated us before our meal but my partner would not let me. But despite this the rest of the staff were amazing and the food was fabulous. Luke lost you 1 star I am afraid!

I have never experienced such incredible service- I came here to celebrate my friends birthday and everything was perfect, the food was delicious and came so quickly even on a busy saturday night. Our waitress Anna looked after us so well all evening, and made my friends birthday super special by even adding a candle and “happy birthday” written in chocolate. We had a slight delay in being sat so we were served our bottle of wine by Luke at the bar. His knowledge of the wines was very impressive and helped us when picking which one we wanted. All in all, it was a perfect meal, i couldn’t fault it if i tried. Will definitely be back!

Fabulous place from entering the bar is plush & boujee, then entering the hotel the decor is luxurious and breathtaking. This was an old Methodist Church so you can imagine the old original features of the building it is truly stunning! The food was amazing and the service by Kristoff was amazing

I know how reputable this location is, however it was worthy on another 5* review! Visited for an 18th with a party of 10, we were placed in a separate room without request, and air conditioning was turned down to our liking service was impeccable, steaks were brought out to us prior to ordering and discussed with us, wine recommendations were given and a birthday dulce de leche cheesecake was brought out ☺️ every steak was brought out perfectly to request, and service was so quick and attentive as everyone knows, it is extremely difficult to make everyone in a party of 10 happy, and Gaucho Exceeded this! special thank you to our server, who sadly i can’t remember the name of!!

Friendly welcoming helpful staff. Wide selection of meat options expertly cooked. Cheapest bottle of wine £44 The trout ceviche starter was delicious. Family of 10 with 3 under 10s had a very enjoyable lunchtime meal.

Food was spectacular. 5 stars. Service shocking. Didn't see the waitress for the last 45 minutes we were at the table so we walked to the reception area to ask for the bill. The manager should emphasise to staff that those tiny tables for 2 people need to be checked and cleared more frequently because space is at a premium. When leaving to fetch our bill I looked back at our table and it was absolutely full of dirty plates and glasses stacked on top of eachother because our waitress vanished. We planned on having deserts and liqueurs but opted to go across the road instead of staying at Gaucho because we were being ignored. Recently moved to Manchester after 22 years in London so have been a regular at Gaucho for a very long time and this was my worst ever Gaucho experience. I've given 5 stars for the food, the ribeye right up there with the best I've ever had BRAVO to the chef!!

Having been to many restaurants I have written few reviews. The food and service must be exceptional for me to note that the staff have gone above and beyond to make sure that I have the best experience possible, and that was certainly the case here at Gaucho in Liverpool. Sebastian who looked after us gave us the best recommendations for the wine and the food was fantastic. Rhiannon, who also served the food was brilliant and could not do enough for us, I really can’t recommend this place enough, if I could give 6 stars I would, absolutely brilliant, do visit if you like great steak and a fantastic ambiance

Great food. Due to the high ceilings the noise is doesn't get absorbed and it is actually very difficult to hear the staff, this noise also makes it hard to hear each other at the table. As it is an architectural feature it is not the fault of the restaurant but it does impact the overall atmosphere and experience. The food was excellent, especially the steak ,however the chips were fine - and speaking as a Brit, chips are very important 😆. Also there was a small error with our dessert, probably due to a miscommunication between us and the staff - due to the noise. Overall a good experience but there were aspects that could be improved.

What an experience. With United beating Liverpool what a way to celebrate after the match. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and awesome menu. My daughter and I shared a steak that was perfectly done. That chimichurri sauce is to die for.

We visited Gaucho for my son’s graduation. Everything was fabulous from start to finish, exceptional service, wonderful food and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we didn’t get our servers name, but she was brilliant. Definitely recommend Gaucho for a special occasion or date night.

Our server was Harrison who was kind, funny and brilliant. Food is amazing, we had 500g ribeye and 400g ribeye (it’s a LOT). We couldn’t manage our sides. It’s expensive but you’re getting good quality food and the venue is stunning, it’s also city centre. Harrison also brought our a complimentary dessert for my boyfriends birthday which was so so lovely and thoughtful - thank you! Would recommend.

My mistake! The good food I ate from the Table D'Hote menu was of Argentine cuisine, as expected, but I hadn't eaten there before. It wasn't to my taste, all over-flavoured and spiced, but it was clearly well cooked and presented. Although my server waitress was pleasant and brisk, food service was inexplicably slow, despite only five tables being occupied. At least four minutes before my wine arrived, and over five more before my starter (sausage, only lukewarm). My main took ages, but the chicken was very tender, but my dessert (delicious cooked apple) was so long coming that I missed my train home. I didn't want rushed service, but 95 minutes for three courses is too slow in my book. I DO NOT blame my waitress; the kitchen was at fault. I won't go back, but I think most diners will have a delightful meal in Gaucho's, with its amazing, rescued church decor.

Food is good however heavy taste recommend if you like tasting all your flavours. Setting is too dark for good picture. The table that we booked wasn’t the best location however lovely manger and staff. Steak was top notch 100% would come back just for the steak.

Had the Sunday Dinner menue and it did not dissapoint. We were there for my birthday and dessert arrive with a Happy Birthday and candle. Will go back and highly recommended for that special something day.

So enjoyed my Sunday roast and dessert of cheesecake with with white chocolate ice cream. Fan service as always!

Food was lovely and couldn’t fault it and the restaurant is lovely. But the service was horrendous for how much you pay, he was rude, unwelcoming, everything seemed to be bother and he was not hospitable at all so did not deserve the the 12% service charge that was paid. Won’t be going again but would recommend to other with the hope they don’t receive the same service as the food and drinks were lovely.

One of the best steak places I have ever been to. I am a regular at the killer and carter brand but this is a cut above excuse the pun! A warm welcome from every member of staff from start to finish. Our waiter Marcello explained the full menu to us and even brought out a steak board showing us the different steaks. We could tell he was an experienced waiter who took his job seriously which is few and far between nowadays. We will be back!

My friend and I had the bottomless Sunday roast, which was absolutely gorgeous. Good quality meat and well cooked veg and tasty gravy. Absolutely loved the cheesecake, and my friend had mixed ice cream which she enjoyed. Such a fab meal! We'll be back!

Food, staff and service were excellent. As it was my birthday we received a free bottle of Prosecco and a dessert.

Very underwhelming. I requested a booth when I booked for a quick lunch on Sunday, when we arrived despite all the booths being available, we weren't allowed to sit at one, instead ushered to a table by the staircase instead. Apparently 'all booked'? How do you book a booth then? It cant be down to the size of our party as a couple walked in with a dog 10mins later and got a booth immediately. Ordered fillet steak salad with watercress and herb salad. Rocket came out. Waited nearly 20mins for a salad to be served which would have possibly been quicker if the chef wasn't texting midway through service (as I noted when I went to the bathroom). Service was clunky and awkward, we had 3 different waiters and although one lady came up to apologise for the delay in our lunch, she then went back to check the ticket and correct me for the length of time we apparently have been waiting (7mins difference - was it worth it?). No mention of the first waiter forgetting how we wanted to cook our steaks then? We were also informed that the chef 'has to sign everything off when theres an allergen' - this contradicts the waiver given when ordering that there could be cross contamination and could you seriously imagine that really happening on a busy Friday/Saturday night, no, just poor customer service. Plates took another 10-15mins to be cleared despite staff walking back n forth (by the way only 6 covers in between 12.20 & 1:30 when we were in). No offer to look at the dessert menu which was a shame as a Gaucho member I was going to use my free dessert code, but perhaps it was best we just go. The bill eventually came however, this was incorrect so had to be sent back to be amended. All in all really disappointing, what should have been a nice lunch at a restaurant chain we have enjoyed for many years in London turned into a rather farcical nightmare. Next time we will stick with Hawksmoor down the road. Those booths I mentioned at the start of my review? Oh yes, bar one - all were as empty and unused as when we first arrived, what a poor way to treat customers.

Fantastic as always staff were brilliant and was able to seat us and fit us in earlier then expected.

Although the restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday evening, the staff coped admirably. The service was excellent and the food did not disappoint. Was entertaining a couple of friends from Brighton and they were mightily impressed so much so that they were almost structuring their next Manchester trip around another visit to Gaucho.

Ate here whilst staying in Manchester for the weekend. Its a fabulous building and a grand restaurant. Arrived on time but told " they were preparing our table" so had a drink in the bar. ( we then noticed they say this to everyone! )...

My boyfriend took me here for a late Valentine’s Day celebration. There was a long wait but they got us in way before the estimated time. The steak was the absolute best steak I’ve ever had and the drinks were marvelous too!

This was our first visit to this restaurant. It was all we expected bloody expensive but great food, great service and ambience. What let things down were the male rest rooms, totally out of sync with the restaurant, small cramped and not what you would expect from a place like this.

Beautiful setting, amazing food and five star service from staff. Can’t wait until our next trip it’s most definitely worth the money.

STUNNING! The staff were all amazing and kind, made sure everything was clear and well explained. They explained each cut of steak and reccommended a dish which complemented our tastes. Our server was Faith, who was really friendly and made sure we were happy with our meal. The cocktails were so good, I got the Frutado and my partner got an Amarreto sour (well made and cheaper than expected). The food came out in good time and everything was perfect. Truthfully, we did find a chip of plastic in the truffle mac and cheese but they sorted it out very quickly and took it off our bill with a discount too for the hassle. An amazing dinner for valentines and would come back again!

Our waiter was fabulous and very informative of our food. Service was quick. Steak lovely but chips awful. Need steak cut chips to go with steak they weren’t even chips just bits. Staff very friendly and helpful though even packed my champagne to take home with us.

Beautiful atmosphere and lovely staff members. A huge con is the lack of gluten free options for desserts (just cheese selections) which makes it a bit upsetting compared to the broad selection of mains gluten free.

Came for an early Valentine's meal, nice food and a nice venue. The food was nice. I had the 400g ribeye and I can't remember having a better steak. Although the medium sirloin we had was probably a tad overdone. Live dj mixing live music was probably a bit loud, but a nice touch. Our waiter was lovely and looked after us nicely, as was the manager. Quite an expensive place, but definitely a place to come on special occasions.

The food was overly priced for no reason it’s not even good and it comes in such small portions. I wouldn’t recommend this place for black people.

We enjoyed our meal and the service from being greeted and throughout the meal was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The steak board and making the right choice is a great idea and the waiter helped us make the right choice.. The steak was cooked to perfection.

From the start to the end the staff were so attentive, always making sure our glasses were full and we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely incredible, we had the Gaucho sampler!
