Thanks for Gaucho's offer of free steak for 2025 London and Manchester Marathon finishers, I had this rare opportunity to taste Argentinan steak in Manchester after finished TCS London Marathon 2025 at previous day (Apr 27). The food and service were so excellent and we enjoyed good rest after running an Abbott World Marathon Major race.

A very stylish and well thought out place. The meats were cooked incredibly successfully. The employees were very attentive. They gave us advice and were very knowledgeable about their jobs. Although the meats were cooked in the area in front of us, there was neither a smell nor the sound of the cooker hood. They were very successful in every way.

I had a lovely evening out at this spot! The meat was cooked to perfection and definitely stole the show. Although the music was a bit on the loud side and not to my taste, it was more of a background thing than a deal-breaker. The team was top-notch, super friendly, and made sure everything was just right, which really added to my experience. Overall, a solid night out that I’d happily recommend!

Would love to leave a review however table booked for 16 people was told they would email me menu n confirmation nothing recieved so emailed them to find out whats happend to be told they have given it to somebody else!

I came here for a first date and it was nothing but perfect. From the service to food I don’t have a single complaint, I want to personally thank Cas for being such an amazing server and attending to all of our needs, he really made our night special and we will definitely be returning! Food and service were excellent but VERY overpriced

We are visiting from Texas and bought tickets for Manchester City package. The service was fantastic and the steaks were amazing tender and juice. Make sure to get the Chimichurri sauce and mushrooms. And the deserts were also very delicious. Thanks Gaucho for a fabulous dinner

I enjoyed a rare Rump steak with peppercorn sauce and my girlfriend had a burger. Both were delicious the steak is definitely something to visit for but expect to pay a premium price for a premium steak it was very tasty and melted like butter. The Goucho burger was more reasonably priced if your just looking for a bite to eat, we also shared the Mac and cheese I’d tasted better my my girlfriend thought it was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful Grace was our server and she earned every penny of the service charge. If you like cow print it’s everywhere!

Great food and excellent service—Jozef was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.

James and all the staff received us so gently. They allowed us without any bookings. We spent a great time, and dinner was delicious.

As always the food and service were impeccable. Steak was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. Had a singer on for the afternoon which was lovely as otherwise the lunchtime atmosphere can be a little stark. Perhaps a little chilly indoors so don’t forget an extra layer!!

Always loved coming here and even better when I found out the dogs could come. The staff are always so welcoming and have great knowledge in everything they deliver! They even treated the dogs to some steak! Best day ever for us!

Denne argentinske biff restauranten byr på byens kanskje mest interessante interiør. I en tidligere nedlagt kirke så har de skapt en fin atmosfære med åpent kjøkken på den ene siden og med kirke orgelet fortsatt intakt ved alteret. Maten er også svært god og er du usikker på hvilket kjøtt stykke du skal velge så kommer gjerne servitøren til bordet med de ulike typene for å forklare de nærmere. Rask og hyggelig betjening. Rett og slett ikke noe å utsette på dette stedet.

Turned up at gauchos for some food and a nice night as it was my birthday. Was greeted by a lady who sat us down at the table. The table was in the middle of the restaurant and I suffer with really bad anxiety so I politely asked if there was a possibility of moving to another table. She agreed but didn’t seem to happy. We were then sat down and I overheard her telling a member on the desk ‘these 2 on my table are hard work asking to move table’ not very nice being spoken about by a member of staff so rudely. Probably won’t return again. Food was nice but that lady shouldn’t be allowed to serve if she can’t accommodate in a restaurant.

Never been before but it was my granddaughter 21st. A bit expensive but the steaks were lovely didn't like the mash it was a bit salty for me and taste powdery, chips were cold. I don't eat olives but those olives they were to die for. The salad had lumps of salt in the bowl. James our server was friendly and gave us good advice couldn't fault him. Wasn't keen on the ambience it was too dark for me

A fantastic evening all around. The steak was perfectly cooked—succulent, flavourful, and exactly how we ordered it. The atmosphere struck a great balance between relaxed and refined. Our waiter, Yannis, stood out for his deep knowledge of both the food and the wine list. His pairing recommendations were spot on and added a thoughtful touch to the meal. The bar also deserves a mention. Their Old Fashioned was expertly balanced, and the rum and bourbon selection was impressive, with a range that would please any enthusiast. While we didn’t catch the bartenders’ names, they clearly knew their craft—friendly, skilled, and efficient. The red wine Yannis suggested paired beautifully with the steak, bringing out the richness of the meat with its dark fruit notes and smooth, oaky finish. The Old Fashioned was a standout too—perfectly blended and not overly sweet. Altogether, a memorable night with great food, excellent drinks, and knowledgeable service.

Overall, disappointing. Steaks were good (but spenny…). Presentation meh…. Naked steak on a bare plate - no garnish etc. Everything else was just meh (at best). And wine was expensive and for price not great… Waiter (Pete) was good and explained steaks etc. Atmosphere - if you want to eat in a club, this is for you. But sadly not for me…

First time here and wow wow the food was unbelievable and the service csmt fault staff so friendly and professional, we had a lady who worked on the bar Dee was l9veoy so friendly attentive and made really good cocktails. Thank you we will be back.

You have no idea how big and amazing this place is when you enter their bar. Liked the atmosphere, with the large open kitchen right in the middle! We started off with some well prepared cocktails, before sitting down in a private dining area. I had burrata for starters, which was nice but certainly not exceptional. We had some shared steaks following, which were certainly nice, although slightly overcooked and in general missing a bit of seasoning. The banana, pecan, old fashioned that they served as a dessert cocktail was very tasteful and definitely worth a try.

We enjoyed a great meal here, the aesthetics, service and food are all 10/10. I had the 300g sirloin that was cooked to perfection and my girlfriend had the 200g fillet which was also perfect. Will definitely return here.

Steak not great compared to steaks available at other restaurants these days. Maybe a decade ago but felt dated and not great quality food

My husband and I booked this restaurant prior to our trip to Manchester based on online reviews. Our experience certainly did not live up to the expectations, the hype we subsequently read in their own menu or the final price paid minus a £50 discount due to the food being cold. As for the food, it was mediocre at best and along with the extremely overpriced wine, certainly not worth what was charged. We wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and certainly do not plan to return.

Went to Gaucho Manchester to celebrate Mother’s Day, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The only highlight was the steak, which was excellent, but everything else was a disaster. We ordered chorizo and morcilla as starters, and both were poorly cooked—cold, tough, and completely underwhelming. I’ve tried many types of Argentine chorizo, and what they serve here doesn’t compare at all. The broccoli served as a side was also cold and tasted awful. To make things worse, I ended up with a terrible stomachache that lasted 12 hours, ruining the entire celebration. Considering the price we paid, the quality and overall experience were far below expectations. A real disappointment, especially compared to the Gaucho in London.

Disappointed with the Sunday lunch. Did not feel welcome the server was not overly warm to us. Staff were arguing in front of us which was totally unprofessional

Went at midday for the long lunch with fizz. We were allowed to take the dog,which was brilliant as it was a special birthday meal but I thought we would be confined to eating in a pub.As it was a quieter time, the atmosphere was a bit lacking but it is a beautiful building and I can imagine it comes into its own in the evening. The food was good and the staff friendly- the dog was delighted to get some steak off cuts that didn't last long 😋

The restaurant is decorated in a dark and elegant style. The service is excellent and always attentive without being intrusive. The Chateau Briand is impeccable but the side dishes are a little small and not salty enough. The price-performance ratio is fine. Unfortunately the music was a bit too loud with the DJ but that's a minor problem

I recently visited one of your establishments and can’t stop raving about it! The food and drinks were top-notch, and the atmosphere was spot on. The team really made my experience special with their warm greetings and helpful recommendations. I definitely want to check out your other locations in London next! Just a heads up, I thought the pricing was decent, but a tiny bit of improvement in the speed of service would make it even better.

Went to this restaurant for my birthday and everything was perfect. My favorite is this roast chicken, it’s so delicious and very juicy. The steak was also very good. It was said to be Argentinian style, but I didn't feel it. I just felt that the heat and meat quality were particularly good. Mushrooms are great and my boyfriend loves them. I like burrata very much, it's refreshing and soothing, and it's really great with bread. The two cocktails ordered were okay, not very strong, and we were both okay with it. I like this birthday cake, it has a rich nutty flavor. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and I had a great birthday.

Unbelievable atmosphere, service and food

Came today 3/9/25 and truly what started as a pleasant experience went downhill. My server was James and he was good however I feel they were not enough staff and for a Sunday roast it was an underwhelming serving. Two simple pieces of beef, a Yorkshire pudding, three small potatoes, tiny piece of onion, two carrots and some kale I think. I decided I better go for all you can eat roast as the meat portion was small. They only top up one piece at a time and when the server is busy it can take too long. Then James went on break and advised Scott would now tend to me. I had no issue until then for the next 35 minutes passed and NOT ONCE did someone come and check on me or offer me more food. What is the point of bottomless roast if you can’t get service? Julia the manager came and made it right after all that but now I had hiccups was upset and felt like a prisoner at my table waiting for any help or more food. I usually enjoy my time at a Gaucho however this time I was alone and sorely ignored. It just didn’t come to the level of a £37 lunch.

Very good. More care on the menu regarding GF items but was very quickly resolved and disaster averted!! Highly recommend as a treat only!!

Booked a table for 20:00. Did not get the table until 20:25. Ordered a second drink just before main course, but never got it. Service overall was very poor. Food was ok but not the best, the meat was good but the starters where not worth it. Also, the mandatory added 13% gratitude on the bill was not very apprecited. Booked 20:00, 27 February. Max.

It's easy to leave Gaucho a five star review, because the place is mint. The staff that served us today were excellent, especially Jake, what a legend. Let's not forget the food though - it was EPIC! 100% going to visit again after today. Thank you all so much for having us 🙂

Great staff but way too salty for both the Sirloin and side of Brocoli. Mash was very dry too. Very attentive waiter though so can't fault them for that.

Absolutely outstanding food. I had the steak and they showed me it before it was spiked to check if it looked good and it did. The steak was extremely soft. Everything about it is good apart from how expensive it is. We even got 20% off and it was just over £300. It is lovely and I really do recommend but be warned the for the price btw there was only 3 of us that went

I have no idea why this place is so expensive the food is basically average pub food but in town so they charge what they want. It’s a gimmick, as simple as that. The food is not worth the money.

The word disappointed doesn't even come close, first off we rang and asked could we rearrange from 3 to 2:20 someone on phone said they can't do that time it's busy but come at 2:15 which we was confused on with being onto 5 minutes, we got there and it was empty , we came here mid afternoon, heard and read all good reviews and could not wait to try it. However, first bad impression is the cow print all over the place in random spots which is very off putting which we were told is real skin, on the chairs and stairs. Then when we received our meal, presentation was disappointing, the burger was average and steak not cooked properly. Chips came separate off plate ( which is fair enough ) however, when it came to taking our plates away we had our chips still in the little container it came in and then male staff member , asked if we were finished, we explained we are done with steak and burger but we will keep chips but you can take the big plate , he looked at us with a bizarre look and then said " so you want to eat chips without a plate " and laughed . Well they didn't come on the plate why are we required to need the plate ? The female main staff member blond was extremely lovely ! Could not fault her service at all! However, the experience was a let down,

I’ll break down my rating: Food: we ordered the sharing fillet steak and was asked how it should be cooked, we asked well done because we can’t eat it if it’s pink and definitely not rare. It came rare. So I didn’t eat any of the meat which cost £78.00 alone. That is the equivalent of burning money. The sides we chose were chips and mac and cheese as the only greens were served with almonds and I don’t eat nuts. The chips were somewhat dry and too crispy and the mac and cheese was okay. The desert was chocolate brownie. I bake at home sometimes and have baked brownies before. I can make them pretty decent they are pretty easy. This brownie was a bad cake. It stuck to the roof of my mouth and was inedible. I feel no one is tasting the desert menu there because I can assure if they had they would remove this from the menu. I didn’t eat it. Atmosphere: there was a live DJ for valentines night. Loud. Not romantic. Not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Service: the waiter often forgot about us and on one occasion of bringing drinks he basically threw them on the table and ran. Not great. Price: £160+ and you have to pay tips without consent. Not happy. This is not the consensus in this country and tipping is at the customers discretion not the company’s. This place slaps a high price tag to convince people it’s good in my opinion. Status symbol. Over all terrible experience. Wouldn’t return it paid too go. I am tempted to ring and demand a refund.

Firstly had to wait for our booking which was at 9:30. We had to wait 20 mins to be seated. Secondly our steak was chewy, considering we paid £50 each for a fillet we wasn’t very happy. Much better steak places for much less money. Do not recommend

We had the share platter, food was ok, it was decent, but nothing to write home about ..can't really say there was anything wrong with it. Noisy environment with the in-house DJ, weird for a restaurant. But my biggest issue was the 13.5% gratuity slapped on at the end when there was only 2 of us eating, I get this happens with groups, but surely we should be told before we order. Expected better for £230

Me and my friend came to Gaucho for his birthday and the food was incredible! To top of our amazing evening the service from Georgios was impeccable, he was extremely knowledgeable on the menu. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Totally worth the price. We went there for Valentine’s Day, the service is amazing, and you can feel it’s busy but it is not so noisy you can’t speak. Would recommend.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff were great energetic and friendly. Enjoyed the cocktails and lager whilst waited to be seated for our meal. The food was fantastic we upgraded to the chateaubriand which was a great choice but could of had more sides offered than the 2 as wasn't enough to share really but overall a great evening The champagne was a nice gesture from staff to celebrate our night. Good service nice steaks, chimichurri sauce was very overpowering but overall good experience!

Ordered 300g lomo (perfect) and ribeye- somehow ended up with sirloin/churasco (was excellent). Starter bread perfect and prawns with jalepeno (not really spicy). Crab cake was fine not amazing. Veg was disappointing- broccoli undercooked and not hot. The veg sides are so small and not hot or tasty- they need to start afain on these. Overall enjoyed

Gauchos in Manchester is a favourite. Fantastic cuts of steak, great wine list and superb hospitality that outshines some of the higher end steakhouses and indeed other eateries here in Manchester. A warm welcome at the reception desk and the standout feature was the superb table service from our host Hannah, which made for a lovely evening. We will return for sure.

We were sat right up at the top by the door which was cold. The waiter was a little obnoxious.

Fabulous steak - drinks a tad expensive but the lunch special set menu is surprisingly good value.

Wasn't expecting the dark nightclubby atmosphere, it was quite nice in the bar beforehand and the bar staff were fantastic, but to continue that vibe into the restaurant became a bit wearing, all evening long. Dark and hard to hear ( yes, I'm middle aged sorry) Food was largely excellent, mac & cheese and sides very tasty, if a bit salty. Steaks were good. However the burger was seriously burnt - it had all the potential to be delicious but PLEASE if you burn it take another one and don't send it out. Daughter was too polite to tell us in the early bites so she gave up half way through :( Bad vibes, altogether.

One of the best Sunday lunches I have had!

Had a fabulous Sunday roast of beef with all the trimmings and gravy. So tasty! Followed by dessert of dulche de leche cheesecake and ice cream. So enjoyed it! Service was outstanding by Josef, a first-class waiter. Will keep coming back!

Excellent restaurant, with beautiful decor and friendly staff. The steak was very tasty and the additional sauces were great accompaniments. There is an extensive drinks menu and the dulche lèche pancakes were 5*. We will be returning, thank you Marcell.

We hosted our Christmas team meal here which was organised by the lovely Harriet. We had such a great evening and were looked after by all the staff. We will definitely be back! 10/10
