Gaucho Grill in Manchester

I had a gift card for Christmas so probably would have never come here if not for that as it is very expensive, but it was lovely. There are some more affordable options if you want to enjoy some good food without breaking the bank. We had the Sunday roast and the beef was cooked perfectly. The roast potatoes were really good too. For dessert I had the chocolate torte, which was recommended to us by our waitress, Annie. My friend had the chocolate brownie and that looked incredible - it was his birthday so they dressed it up a little for him. Annie was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, compliments to her. Recommend the bread basket too.

A fantastic steak Going again soon

This has been a go-to place for treats & special occasions in the past. Had a great time as a party of 6, they even brought a dessert for a birthday of one of us! Service always spot on and professional. 4 stars as we were surprised that you are now charged for the bread which used to be a free treat, plus asked for table water expecting it just to be tap water but charged £11 ! Don't mind paying for a treat once in a while but our bill was near £500 and bit gutted all these extras are now added on. Must be cost of living etc.

I celebrated my 20th at Gaucho Manchester, and it was perfect! Marcello provided exceptional service, making the night extra special. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was spot on. Can't wait to return!

Quality and price misaligned. This was far from the best steak I have ever had and the prices would suggest it should be close. Our party had fillet, rib eye and a Chateaubriand. The latter the best of the 3. The ribeye was over cooked to start with, then cooked well but the cut of meat was poor. Fillet was cooked well but again had some chewy bits in the cut of steak. The whole party agreed the fries were dry. The Mac and cheese was awesome but overall, the food was below par.

I came to Gaucho for a friend's birthday meal. Each of us spent at least £50 on a steak alone, which we don't mind doing as long as the food is good... We asked the waitress for her recommendations. Unfortunately throughout the meal, our waitress was rude (she spilt my guiness and just walked off, among other things) and really hard to get hold of. The steaks we had ordered came extremely undercooked, so we asked to get the steaks cooked more thoroughly, to which the response was rude. Fortunately, her manager came and spoke to the table. He was extremely personable and refired our steaks. At the end of the meal we were charged with a mandatory 13% gratuity, to which we explained we will leave cash for the manager. I have been to Gaucho 3 times now with only 1 good meal. The food was too average for the price. The service was shocking from the waitress and really good from the manager hence a very generous 3/5, as can't tell if she was just having a very bad night. Furthermore, the lighting is dark but a nice building inside. Overall, I would struggle to find a reason to come back!

I dined here during a business trip and opted for the ribeye steak – easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had (and I’ve had my fair share!). For sides, I chose chips, which were decent, and dauphinoise potatoes, which were absolutely delightful. My colleagues also ordered steaks, and everyone praised the quality and perfect cooking. The mac and cheese deserves a special mention – incredibly tasty and a standout dish. We visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon just after 3 PM, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The staff were fantastic – well-organised, attentive, and friendly throughout. Overall, a top-tier dining experience that I’d highly recommend, especially for steak lovers!

Quite a lovely steak place. Food was totally on point , cooked to perfection and everything was tasty. Top quality all around.

We booked a reservation very last-minute at Gaucho a day before New Year’s Eve and didn’t have high expectations... but were very pleasantly surprised. We decided to have the 300g chimichurri chorizo (sirloin) and the wagyu burger. The steak was easily the best I’ve ever had - perfectly tender inside and charred on the outside just as I’d asked. The selection of wine here is also pretty impressive! As other reviewers mentioned the atmosphere is excellent whether it’s just a date night, birthday celebration with friends or any other special event. Above all, the customer service was just the cherry on top. James made our dining experience a thousand times better. He was very knowledgable about the restaurant, the large selection of wines and the perfect pairings. Overall our experience was just perfect. Not very cheap but I would definitely go back purely because of the outstanding customer service and the quality of the food.

The ambience in a converted Methodist church is unique. Food and service also excellent. Absolutely worth a visit.

Overpriced and over hyped. Too busy and very noisy. Put on a table in the dark could barely read the menu. Not impressed at all.

Went here on Christmas Eve and the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was incredible, but without a shadow of a doubt the best part was the service from Andy. Couldn’t ask for a better way to spend Xmas Eve!

Lovely birthday dinner with my girls, so grateful to the team being accommodating to us being late due to insane traffic. The food and vibes were lovely but a special shoutout to James who just made our night incredible with his great service and sensational energy - thank you!

Fantastic food, experience and service. We went on Saturday 14th for my daughter’s 18th birthday. The venue is amazing with the old organ still there. Atmosphere was good, with music/DJ giving a good vibe. Service was excellent, Julio was great. Attentive but not intrusive. Wine recommendations were good and explanation of steaks too. We were a group of 6 having Scallops, salmon tartare tacos and buffalo mozzarella. Just the right amount of food. For mains 4 of our party had the lumo/ fillet. It was melt in your mouth. Juicy, moist and full of flavour. Do not have any sauces, enjoy the steak as it comes. The other members of our party had sea bass which equally good. Chips were ok. My daughter’s mash was really nice. We were too full for dessert but my daughter was surprised with a chocolate dessert. The tuille and ice cream were particularly nice. A great experience, good food and service from Julio.

Another local restaurant messed up our Christmas booking for 8 people, but Gaucho came to the rescue, being able to host our party with only 2.5 hours notice. We sat in the private dining area, and Olivia looked after us. She was fantastic - attentive, funny, knowledgeable and brilliant recommendations. We felt really well looked after, following on from a quite stressful issue (finding another venue in a short time frame for a large party at Christmas!). Great food and drink and worth the price point. A wonderful experience and will be back again soon. Thank you Olivia!

Plenty of portion, good beef quality

Recently revisted Gaucho after a disappointing visit last time, this visit was nothing short of fantastic, attentive staff and well mannered, my steak was cooked perfectly as was the rest of the food and the staff took time out to entertain my daughter at times which was nice as they were very busy. We'll definitely be back.

Wow! Fantastic meal with family for daughter’s birthday. Served by Julio. His service was amazing. Attentive but not intrusive. Knowledgeable and incredibly engaging, left feeling part of the family. Obviously, at least for us, not a regular Saturday night meal but was made special by great staff. Scallops, ceviche and salmon starters. Moreish bread basket. Skip butter just have olive oil dip/seasoning. 4 of us had the lumo (fillet) cooked rare and medium/rare. Sides of chips- could not finish - daughter had their mac n cheese, tenderstem broccoli really nice. No dessert because we were so full. As a family we are more starters and main. However, lovely chocolate dessert for my daughter (18th) a crime not to taste it. So, meal for 6, starters, mains, sides, white wine start and red wine finish circa £525 inc service which was approximately £60. If not going for the food go to meet Julio!!!

Went for a meal for our wedding anniversary at Gaucho in Manchester and it was excellent. Had a drink in the bar before being taken through to our table in the spectacular dining room. We decided to have the 700g Chateaubriand and a carafe of wine. The steak was fantastic - a lovely char on the outside and perfectly tender inside. The steak came with a couple of sauces and sides which were all excellent too, specially the truffle dauphinoise. We were also given a glass of champagne each free of charge for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. Service in the dining room was great (though a little bit more ropey in the bar) and overall the experience was excellent. Not cheap of course but definitely worth it and we'd happily visit again.

Pasta and steak was power and kind service would recommend gaucho to anyone.

Unfortunately wasted my buyagift present on this. Tight menu was offered and the quietest worst times were allocated. The restaurant could see it as an opportunity to gain more customers. We even asked to upgrade to a better menu and obviously would of paid the difference, which meant more money for them, but was refused. Bad management, no business acumen whatsoever leading to a bad reflection of this place. I like to eat out a lot especially steak. Boring lacklustre atmosphere which probably reflects the time we were permitted to use the voucher which was £109 so not pocket change either.

As a team, we sat in a private room. Unfortunately, it was way too dark in there. In my opinion, it’s over rated and I’ve had better stake elsewhere.

Best steakhouse in Manchester, great service and good location

To be fair, the door staff were firendly, and mostly polite the waiting room was nice and calm and had a good atmosphere for a drink or two before your meal then the resturant itself was more of a night club with how loud the music was honestly if you're hard of hearing or wish to not be after your meal go to a rock and roll festival instead to save your ear drumbs. The service was polite but stupendously slow, and even our waiter could not hear a thing past the music. The food was ok. I had the wagyu beef burger would not recommend to be fair it was comparable to a burger king basic burger. Now, the chips had more salt than the sambhar salt lake, not an over exaggeration. My mouth still feels dry the day after, and the desert i had was a cheesecake and tasted like a normal basic condensed milk based cheesecake with no vanilla or anything other than that I'd recommend going to a dessert place after to be honest instead of wasting your time and money. In summary the food was ok the service was polite but slow and they can't hear you and you can't hear them or anyone your with that kind of spoils the atmosphere.

Visited Gauchos with some friends - service and greeting at reception very good . I made the mistake of going for the Festive menu at £45 which was a big mistake . Turkey was dry and tasteless and fair to say awful . My friends went for steaks and they were disappointed. having visited previously and enjoyed it I have to say we wont be coming back .

Where to start? Service was average. Food so over priced. We asked for some cocktails and they were horrible; presentation, taste and size really disappointed. The starter was ok but nothing special. Meat, which is the specialty of the place, was really disappointing, was less than average. Wine list out of this world, the prices were like we were in a very expensive (but good) restaurant in Paris. Side dishes, I prefer to keep to myself what I really think. In a polite way let’s say: awfully and what a waste of money. We didn’t bother ask for desserts and coffee. When we asked for the bill, they included a 13% tip. From where? Why? After the horrible experience we were no surprised about the abusive tip. Of course, never again and I will continue telling people to take their money someone else every time I hear the name of this place.

Steak night date night was just perfect for our anniversary. They brought us 2 glasses of champagne on the house and additionally a dessert platter for our anniversary. Really thoughtful and we felt really looked after. Can’t remember our waiters name but he was great and service was amazing. Definitely going back :)

A good place for celebration. Nice environment and good service. We have ordered a salmon tartare tacos as starter it is delicious. The steaks are cooked nicely and chips are great.

I’ve been to a lot of steakhouses but this wasn’t worth the value. Although, the service and ambience is immaculate but the food wasn’t it.

So enjoyed my Sunday roast and cheesecake with white chocolate ice cream. Service by Josef was first-class. Will keep on coming back.

The presentation of the food could’ve been better, the chatubreane steak was in a tin plate, however in leeds it is on a nice elevated stone boated with the sides placed on each side. The atmosphere was ok, however people need to dress up a little bit more this is gauchos not nandos. The food how we was really tasty as always and service was quick. We had a very friendly staff member serving us also.

Had the best time at gaucho tonight all the staff were incredible the food came a lot faster than expected and tasted absolutely amazing definitely worth the price the atmosphere was just amazing the restaurant is beautiful definitely will be going back soon and i recommend going to guacho you wont regret it

Top quality food and service for the Saturday brunch. Sadly, it was the last one otherwise, we would be back for this! My wife was well looked after for her birthday as was our large group. Slightly marked down as we didn't know there was a dj on. He went missing a bit.

Had a delicious lunch of steak with chips, fried egg and also requested fried onions instead of sauce, which the chef kindly did. So enjoyed it! The chocolate torte was delicious! Will keep coming back!

My boyfriend booked this place for my birthday as he had received great reviews about the place. Service was lovely and polite don’t get me wrong and very helpful on which steak to choose. However we waited around 15 minutes just to get a cocktail menu and another 10 for our drinks themselves which came after our starters arrived. Lovely starters however our mains were not to our expectation. The chips i can only explain as somehow worse than kfc chips no flavour and tasted like they’d been sat for ages going stale and dry. I ordered the garlic marinated sirloin which as a steak lover did not really satisfy me, it somehow tasted like pork??? My partener got a char grilled whagu burger, understandably you could definitely taste it was char grilled however the char grilled is about the only thing you could taste on the burger unfortunately. Even though service was lovely it was very very slow we could never find our designated waiter because he was never really around, could guarantee if we wanted anything we’d have to wait 10 minutes just to get someone’s attention. And other waiters walking by who could see we were waiting for someone just walked past and pretended they didn’t see us. I understand from working in hospitality myself that keeping to your section is key however i would have expected more help than what was given. The reason i’ve given this 2 stars is because they did end my meal off with a complimentary brownie which read happy birthday, lovely little touch just unfortunate the food prior had left a sour taste in our mouth. We also got the bill at the end to see a cocktail on there which they assured us would be taken off the bill.

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious steaks. Our server was attentive and friendly, and took the time to explain all the cuts of steaks to us. The spiral cut filet was the best steak I've ever tasted. The doorman was extremely nice and we had a wonderful time.

Visited with a friend who requires wheelchair access and first and foremost I would like to say that the restaurant is very accommodating and from an accessibility point of view everything was spot on. Food was absolutely superb and the service was brilliant! We had an amazing meal and were very well looked after. Thanks so much and we will return.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant, and the service was absolutely lovely. The front-of-house staff went above and beyond by writing us a thoughtful card to mark the occasion, which was such a sweet gesture. Our server, Jake, was also fantastic—attentive and personable, offering great service throughout the evening. We started with the scallops, which were outstanding. The lime added a perfect citrusy burst of flavor that elevated the dish. We also had the steak tartare, which was just as impressive. Both starters set a high bar for the rest of the meal. For the mains, we ordered the Gaucho Sampler Platter, which included a selection of rump, fillet, ribeye, and sirloin. While the quality of the meat itself was good, the execution was unfortunately disappointing. We asked for medium rare, but none of the steaks came out perfectly cooked. This was particularly frustrating as it’s a steakhouse, and we expected more precision—especially with cuts like the fillet and sirloin. The sirloin was so off that we sent it back, and though it was returned rare, it was at least edible the second time around. For dessert, we had the passionfruit mille-feuille, which was delightful. The flavors were well-balanced, but I felt the puff pastry could have been slightly thicker to enhance the texture. Overall, while the service and ambiance were excellent, the inconsistencies with the steak left us feeling a bit let down.

Ma il concetto funziona benissimo ed il sabato sera è tutto pieno e una playlist piuttosto tecno a tutto volume viene proposta ai clienti. Siamo stati soddisfatti della nostra cena ed in ammirazione di come una moltitudine di camerieri/e riesce a destreggiarsi nella folla. Una menzione speciale va a Marcello, il nostro cameriere salentino, la cui esperienza pluriennale nel gruppo ci ha permesso di passare una bella serata. Ottimo servizio. A lovely Sunday lunch, before watching spurs beat Utd. Waiter was lovely, although he was going to the game too, and thought Utd would win. Poor lad.

Very disappointed. For the premium price tag I was hoping for a really good steak. We ordered the chateaubriand rare to share with starters and sides. The steak arrived completely over cooked almost well done. We spoke with a waiter who agreed it was over cooked and took it away to be replaced with a steak that was then stone cold. As in fridge temperature in the centre. When you’re paying £115 for a piece of meat you’d hope that it would at least be cooked correctly. The sides were lukewarm and the staring Argentinean sausage sharing starter was literally one skewer of chorizo. Service at the bar when we arrived was slow. The kind of food and service you’d be disappointed with at a cheap chain restaurant, properly shocking when paying a premium price. The only positive was that our waiter was very friendly and apologetic about the experience.

This was a really great experience for my first time, the staff were absolutely amazing and really attentive. The alcohol list for this place is really quite amazing too. The food blew me away, I was really intrigued with the wagyu burger so I tried that but surprisingly the steak blew it out of the water, it was probably the most tender steak I’ve had to be honest. I was really glad to meet Jason the waiter too, who I’ve previously met at another bar before.

Fantastic. Peter was our waiter for the night his service is spectacular so warm and welcoming, super chatty and knowledgeable about the steaks/wines. Refreshing service which makes you come back time and time again he is an asset to the restaurant and deserves the recognition!

We had an amazing time here. Being served by the lovely Stefan made us feel welcome and well looked after. We went for the summer lunch set menu and loved all three courses! The empanada was delicious, the steak lived up to our expectations and more, plus the pistachio and raspberry ice cream dessert was an amazing final touch. We couldn’t fault this place and loved the decor of the restaurant. We will without a doubt come back again soon and perhaps try out the a la carte menu next.

Went tonight to celebrate a significant birthday and really looking forward to it as been several times before and loved it.. Staff as always were absolutely brilliant but what's happened to the quality of the meat? Had a 400g Sirloin and left most of it as my jaw was aching from having to chew it so much. Not what you'd expect from a nearly £50 piece of meat! Gutted, as had been looking forward to it for ages. But nice touch with a complimentary sweet with a birthday message on so Thank You for that.

I totally recommend it if you need that souvenir home. The meat, the wine and the empanadas are crazy or, rather, Argentinian. The people and the service, impeccable. Super expensive but worth it.

Apart from the fact that the place is spectacular and the atmosphere super pleasant, the food was delicious. The perfectly cooked and very juicy strip and the fries at their crispy point... And the delicious cocktails :)

Fantastic bottomless brunch! The food was really nice, which you don’t always get with bottomless brunch. The steak was cooked perfectly. And the mix of starters were all great. There was a good choice of drinks and you were never waiting around to be served your next drink, they were fab at keeping you topped up. It’s a bit on the expensive side for bottomless brunch but I’d say it’s worth it! Great quality food and drinks. They weren’t pushy when it came to our time running out, which is a nice relief. I’d have liked the option for a lighter dessert. Also, dog friendly!
