Gaucho Grill in Manchester

Totally worth the price. We went there for Valentine’s Day, the service is amazing, and you can feel it’s busy but it is not so noisy you can’t speak. Would recommend.

Firstly had to wait for our booking which was at 9:30. We had to wait 20 mins to be seated. Secondly our steak was chewy, considering we paid £50 each for a fillet we wasn’t very happy. Much better steak places for much less money. Do not recommend

We had the share platter, food was ok, it was decent, but nothing to write home about ..can't really say there was anything wrong with it. Noisy environment with the in-house DJ, weird for a restaurant. But my biggest issue was the 13.5% gratuity slapped on at the end when there was only 2 of us eating, I get this happens with groups, but surely we should be told before we order. Expected better for £230

I’ll break down my rating: Food: we ordered the sharing fillet steak and was asked how it should be cooked, we asked well done because we can’t eat it if it’s pink and definitely not rare. It came rare. So I didn’t eat any of the meat which cost £78.00 alone. That is the equivalent of burning money. The sides we chose were chips and mac and cheese as the only greens were served with almonds and I don’t eat nuts. The chips were somewhat dry and too crispy and the mac and cheese was okay. The desert was chocolate brownie. I bake at home sometimes and have baked brownies before. I can make them pretty decent they are pretty easy. This brownie was a bad cake. It stuck to the roof of my mouth and was inedible. I feel no one is tasting the desert menu there because I can assure if they had they would remove this from the menu. I didn’t eat it. Atmosphere: there was a live DJ for valentines night. Loud. Not romantic. Not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Service: the waiter often forgot about us and on one occasion of bringing drinks he basically threw them on the table and ran. Not great. Price: £160+ and you have to pay tips without consent. Not happy. This is not the consensus in this country and tipping is at the customers discretion not the company’s. This place slaps a high price tag to convince people it’s good in my opinion. Status symbol. Over all terrible experience. Wouldn’t return it paid too go. I am tempted to ring and demand a refund.

Me and my friend came to Gaucho for his birthday and the food was incredible! To top of our amazing evening the service from Georgios was impeccable, he was extremely knowledgeable on the menu. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Amazing food. Our server Jozef was outstanding and very attentive. Our second time coming to Gaucho and the standard of food and service definitely has not slipped a bit. We will be back soon!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff were great energetic and friendly. Enjoyed the cocktails and lager whilst waited to be seated for our meal. The food was fantastic we upgraded to the chateaubriand which was a great choice but could of had more sides offered than the 2 as wasn't enough to share really but overall a great evening The champagne was a nice gesture from staff to celebrate our night. Good service nice steaks, chimichurri sauce was very overpowering but overall good experience!

Ordered 300g lomo (perfect) and ribeye- somehow ended up with sirloin/churasco (was excellent). Starter bread perfect and prawns with jalepeno (not really spicy). Crab cake was fine not amazing. Veg was disappointing- broccoli undercooked and not hot. The veg sides are so small and not hot or tasty- they need to start afain on these. Overall enjoyed

Gauchos in Manchester is a favourite. Fantastic cuts of steak, great wine list and superb hospitality that outshines some of the higher end steakhouses and indeed other eateries here in Manchester. A warm welcome at the reception desk and the standout feature was the superb table service from our host Hannah, which made for a lovely evening. We will return for sure.

We were sat right up at the top by the door which was cold. The waiter was a little obnoxious.

Fabulous steak - drinks a tad expensive but the lunch special set menu is surprisingly good value.

Had a fabulous Sunday roast of beef with all the trimmings and gravy. So tasty! Followed by dessert of dulche de leche cheesecake and ice cream. So enjoyed it! Service was outstanding by Josef, a first-class waiter. Will keep coming back!

Excellent restaurant, with beautiful decor and friendly staff. The steak was very tasty and the additional sauces were great accompaniments. There is an extensive drinks menu and the dulche lèche pancakes were 5*. We will be returning, thank you Marcell.

We hosted our Christmas team meal here which was organised by the lovely Harriet. We had such a great evening and were looked after by all the staff. We will definitely be back! 10/10

Worst empanadas I have ever had in my life and I am from Argentina. This got nothing to do with Argentinian cuisine. Overpriced and bad quality. You can make better home made empanadas by buying minced meat in lidl.

Had a delicious lunch of rump steak with chips and fried onions followed by dulche de leche pancakes with ice cream from the set menu. So enjoyed it!

Gaucho is One of the best places to eat in Manchester

From the moment I was treated till the end when my coat was returned to me, the service was great. The food was fantastic, the tartare was divine and the steak was another level. Will be returning in the very near future

Gaucho never disappoints, their new lunch menu is fantastic value. Service excellent and don’t forget to get a portion of the cheese bread.

I had a gift card for Christmas so probably would have never come here if not for that as it is very expensive, but it was lovely. There are some more affordable options if you want to enjoy some good food without breaking the bank. We had the Sunday roast and the beef was cooked perfectly. The roast potatoes were really good too. For dessert I had the chocolate torte, which was recommended to us by our waitress, Annie. My friend had the chocolate brownie and that looked incredible - it was his birthday so they dressed it up a little for him. Annie was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, compliments to her. Recommend the bread basket too.

My steak was rare at best rather than a medium rare as requested but my partner’s was medium rare. Cavolo nero was added to our order without us requesting and we were told we were being served spinach instead on the house however, the cavolo nero was included in the bill at the end (which we did not even order), bread and olives for starters never arrived (requested) and food came very late. Took my partner here for his birthday and with a bill of over 100£, we left extremely unsatisfied.

Steaks were cooked wrong Bill was sent down with items on it that were given as “ complimentary” Don’t send “complimentary” sauces down Then add 16£ onto the bill for them . Staff service was great But food had gone downhill sadly from previous visits.

Went the other day with the boys and the food was magnificent. The best ever service from Marcello the main man.

I celebrated my 20th at Gaucho Manchester, and it was perfect! Marcello provided exceptional service, making the night extra special. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was spot on. Can't wait to return!

This has been a go-to place for treats & special occasions in the past. Had a great time as a party of 6, they even brought a dessert for a birthday of one of us! Service always spot on and professional. 4 stars as we were surprised that you are now charged for the bread which used to be a free treat, plus asked for table water expecting it just to be tap water but charged £11 ! Don't mind paying for a treat once in a while but our bill was near £500 and bit gutted all these extras are now added on. Must be cost of living etc.

Quality and price misaligned. This was far from the best steak I have ever had and the prices would suggest it should be close. Our party had fillet, rib eye and a Chateaubriand. The latter the best of the 3. The ribeye was over cooked to start with, then cooked well but the cut of meat was poor. Fillet was cooked well but again had some chewy bits in the cut of steak. The whole party agreed the fries were dry. The Mac and cheese was awesome but overall, the food was below par.

I came to Gaucho for a friend's birthday meal. Each of us spent at least £50 on a steak alone, which we don't mind doing as long as the food is good... We asked the waitress for her recommendations. Unfortunately throughout the meal, our waitress was rude (she spilt my guiness and just walked off, among other things) and really hard to get hold of. The steaks we had ordered came extremely undercooked, so we asked to get the steaks cooked more thoroughly, to which the response was rude. Fortunately, her manager came and spoke to the table. He was extremely personable and refired our steaks. At the end of the meal we were charged with a mandatory 13% gratuity, to which we explained we will leave cash for the manager. I have been to Gaucho 3 times now with only 1 good meal. The food was too average for the price. The service was shocking from the waitress and really good from the manager hence a very generous 3/5, as can't tell if she was just having a very bad night. Furthermore, the lighting is dark but a nice building inside. Overall, I would struggle to find a reason to come back!

I dined here during a business trip and opted for the ribeye steak – easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had (and I’ve had my fair share!). For sides, I chose chips, which were decent, and dauphinoise potatoes, which were absolutely delightful. My colleagues also ordered steaks, and everyone praised the quality and perfect cooking. The mac and cheese deserves a special mention – incredibly tasty and a standout dish. We visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon just after 3 PM, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The staff were fantastic – well-organised, attentive, and friendly throughout. Overall, a top-tier dining experience that I’d highly recommend, especially for steak lovers!

We booked a reservation very last-minute at Gaucho a day before New Year’s Eve and didn’t have high expectations... but were very pleasantly surprised. We decided to have the 300g chimichurri chorizo (sirloin) and the wagyu burger. The steak was easily the best I’ve ever had - perfectly tender inside and charred on the outside just as I’d asked. The selection of wine here is also pretty impressive! As other reviewers mentioned the atmosphere is excellent whether it’s just a date night, birthday celebration with friends or any other special event. Above all, the customer service was just the cherry on top. James made our dining experience a thousand times better. He was very knowledgable about the restaurant, the large selection of wines and the perfect pairings. Overall our experience was just perfect. Not very cheap but I would definitely go back purely because of the outstanding customer service and the quality of the food.

Fantastic food, experience and service. We went on Saturday 14th for my daughter’s 18th birthday. The venue is amazing with the old organ still there. Atmosphere was good, with music/DJ giving a good vibe. Service was excellent, Julio was great. Attentive but not intrusive. Wine recommendations were good and explanation of steaks too. We were a group of 6 having Scallops, salmon tartare tacos and buffalo mozzarella. Just the right amount of food. For mains 4 of our party had the lumo/ fillet. It was melt in your mouth. Juicy, moist and full of flavour. Do not have any sauces, enjoy the steak as it comes. The other members of our party had sea bass which equally good. Chips were ok. My daughter’s mash was really nice. We were too full for dessert but my daughter was surprised with a chocolate dessert. The tuille and ice cream were particularly nice. A great experience, good food and service from Julio.

Another local restaurant messed up our Christmas booking for 8 people, but Gaucho came to the rescue, being able to host our party with only 2.5 hours notice. We sat in the private dining area, and Olivia looked after us. She was fantastic - attentive, funny, knowledgeable and brilliant recommendations. We felt really well looked after, following on from a quite stressful issue (finding another venue in a short time frame for a large party at Christmas!). Great food and drink and worth the price point. A wonderful experience and will be back again soon. Thank you Olivia!

Recently revisted Gaucho after a disappointing visit last time, this visit was nothing short of fantastic, attentive staff and well mannered, my steak was cooked perfectly as was the rest of the food and the staff took time out to entertain my daughter at times which was nice as they were very busy. We'll definitely be back.

Plenty of portion, good beef quality

Wow! Fantastic meal with family for daughter’s birthday. Served by Julio. His service was amazing. Attentive but not intrusive. Knowledgeable and incredibly engaging, left feeling part of the family. Obviously, at least for us, not a regular Saturday night meal but was made special by great staff. Scallops, ceviche and salmon starters. Moreish bread basket. Skip butter just have olive oil dip/seasoning. 4 of us had the lumo (fillet) cooked rare and medium/rare. Sides of chips- could not finish - daughter had their mac n cheese, tenderstem broccoli really nice. No dessert because we were so full. As a family we are more starters and main. However, lovely chocolate dessert for my daughter (18th) a crime not to taste it. So, meal for 6, starters, mains, sides, white wine start and red wine finish circa £525 inc service which was approximately £60. If not going for the food go to meet Julio!!!

Went for a meal for our wedding anniversary at Gaucho in Manchester and it was excellent. Had a drink in the bar before being taken through to our table in the spectacular dining room. We decided to have the 700g Chateaubriand and a carafe of wine. The steak was fantastic - a lovely char on the outside and perfectly tender inside. The steak came with a couple of sauces and sides which were all excellent too, specially the truffle dauphinoise. We were also given a glass of champagne each free of charge for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. Service in the dining room was great (though a little bit more ropey in the bar) and overall the experience was excellent. Not cheap of course but definitely worth it and we'd happily visit again.

As a team, we sat in a private room. Unfortunately, it was way too dark in there. In my opinion, it’s over rated and I’ve had better stake elsewhere.

Unfortunately wasted my buyagift present on this. Tight menu was offered and the quietest worst times were allocated. The restaurant could see it as an opportunity to gain more customers. We even asked to upgrade to a better menu and obviously would of paid the difference, which meant more money for them, but was refused. Bad management, no business acumen whatsoever leading to a bad reflection of this place. I like to eat out a lot especially steak. Boring lacklustre atmosphere which probably reflects the time we were permitted to use the voucher which was £109 so not pocket change either.

Best steakhouse in Manchester, great service and good location

To be fair, the door staff were firendly, and mostly polite the waiting room was nice and calm and had a good atmosphere for a drink or two before your meal then the resturant itself was more of a night club with how loud the music was honestly if you're hard of hearing or wish to not be after your meal go to a rock and roll festival instead to save your ear drumbs. The service was polite but stupendously slow, and even our waiter could not hear a thing past the music. The food was ok. I had the wagyu beef burger would not recommend to be fair it was comparable to a burger king basic burger. Now, the chips had more salt than the sambhar salt lake, not an over exaggeration. My mouth still feels dry the day after, and the desert i had was a cheesecake and tasted like a normal basic condensed milk based cheesecake with no vanilla or anything other than that I'd recommend going to a dessert place after to be honest instead of wasting your time and money. In summary the food was ok the service was polite but slow and they can't hear you and you can't hear them or anyone your with that kind of spoils the atmosphere.

Visited Gauchos with some friends - service and greeting at reception very good . I made the mistake of going for the Festive menu at £45 which was a big mistake . Turkey was dry and tasteless and fair to say awful . My friends went for steaks and they were disappointed. having visited previously and enjoyed it I have to say we wont be coming back .

Where to start? Service was average. Food so over priced. We asked for some cocktails and they were horrible; presentation, taste and size really disappointed. The starter was ok but nothing special. Meat, which is the specialty of the place, was really disappointing, was less than average. Wine list out of this world, the prices were like we were in a very expensive (but good) restaurant in Paris. Side dishes, I prefer to keep to myself what I really think. In a polite way let’s say: awfully and what a waste of money. We didn’t bother ask for desserts and coffee. When we asked for the bill, they included a 13% tip. From where? Why? After the horrible experience we were no surprised about the abusive tip. Of course, never again and I will continue telling people to take their money someone else every time I hear the name of this place.

Steak night date night was just perfect for our anniversary. They brought us 2 glasses of champagne on the house and additionally a dessert platter for our anniversary. Really thoughtful and we felt really looked after. Can’t remember our waiters name but he was great and service was amazing. Definitely going back :)

A good place for celebration. Nice environment and good service. We have ordered a salmon tartare tacos as starter it is delicious. The steaks are cooked nicely and chips are great.

I’ve been to a lot of steakhouses but this wasn’t worth the value. Although, the service and ambience is immaculate but the food wasn’t it.
