Garum London (Italian Restaurant, Italian Food, Wine Bar, Cocktail Bar) in City of London, Westminster

Just came out of this restaurant! I can safely say that if you choose this restaurant for dinner or lunch, you will be delighted! It's not the first time I've been to this restaurant and I'd like to share my experience with you. First of all I would like to note the atmosphere, it is the first thing that catches my eye, I am not Italian but I have been there many times, and Garum restaurant fully conveys the atmosphere of Italy and their traditions. The chef's dishes are truly sumptuous and not too expensive. The waiters are very friendly and always smiling and will always help you to choose the dish or drink you want! So if you are looking for a good Italian restaurant you can choose Garum🙌👍

We had a fantastic experience here! It was just as Giles Coran and Tom Parker-Bowles described a while back. The service here is so good; friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not overly so, and extremely helpful. The room is nicely done and has a youthful, cool vibe. Then there's the cooking... heavenly. I had pasta Amatriciana that had the most intense flavour, and the lardons were out of this world. My husband's Carbonara was superb. The sauce was almost orange due to the high-quality egg yolks and, again, the tasty lardons. The house red was delicious and worked well with our pasta. The prices across the board were good. Our waitress, Kim, was absolutely great. She really knew her food and wines, and a lot of fun. The chef/owner came out and had a chat with us too. He was an absolute delight and a good laugh. This is an absolute gem in Queensway ( just across from the tube) and will be one of our regular destinations in the future.

Stepping into Garum feels like being welcomed into an Italian home - warm, inviting, and full of soul. 🇮🇹🍷 This Bayswater gem serves some of the best pasta I’ve had in London (definitely try the rigatoni with oxtail ragu), and the menu highlights authentic regional flavors you won’t often find elsewhere (the trippa alla Romana just melts in your mouth - umami at its finest). 🤤🍝 But what truly sets Garum apart is its hospitality. Francesco and Sasha bring such genuine warmth and great energy to the restaurant and embody the true essence of Italian hospitality (which I find so rare in London). ❤️ If you’re looking for a vibe that’s relaxed, authentic, and full of heart, definitely check it out.

FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC and again and again FANTASTIC!!!! I live in the area for 15 years now and I’ve seen everything happening on Queensway, which is well known for very cheap crap Italian restaurants. This is one of the VERY BEST ITALIANS I’ve been at in London (and way better than many other Italian restaurants in Italy too). Everything is fresh and made in house. I had the steak tartare and the red prawn spaghetti which were to die for!!! Dessert of white chocolate and capers (weird isn’t it?) …was FABULOUS!!! The wine selection is wide and very well priced. There are many small winemakers listed, which are in many 3 Michelin stars restaurants in Italy, and here are soooooo cheap! Cocktails and aperitivo were 🔥. Definitely I’ll be back. TOP SERVICE in London..wherever I go I find inexperienced, careless waiters….not here! Well done Garum!

Very disappointing and so overpriced! We went based on the good reviews but should have read the bad ones first as there are many and the rude replies from the restaurant show the true character of the place.

The sauce was horrible!! my angus boyfriend, who had nothing of angus !! Written on paper just to say. Service too slow. I'm sorry but I will never return. And what's more, for these two things with a small water and a small cola it's 109 euros. Really crazy. It can also fail really bad!!! If you want a real taste of Italy and Roma this is the place to go. Do not expect your usual ‘English’ Italian. This is authentic and true Roman cuisine. The food is great but the service is even better. Relaxed, great fun and personable. Francesco and Sasha are the most friendly hosts and owners. I cannot recommend enough. If this was 3 streets east towards central it would be getting rave reviews. Give them a visit and finish with the best tiramisu in London!!

My husband and I dined at this restaurant on Saturday 25th January. What a treat! The restaurant staff are welcoming and the food and wine were divine! We both had the same dish of mushroom tortellini, it was amazing! Fresh produce, lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, well done! We had a fantastic time, go and enjoy!!🥰

Adorable little place with cheerful atmosphere. Best carbonara in London and the zabaglione was served in a cute little egg. Staff very kind and helpful. Seriously good wine list. Strong recommend.

A really good Italian gem.❤️❤️❤️ Very good food.🤤🤤🤤 They were also able to arrange something for me, who has allergies. (must be gluten/lactose-free and garlic-free). Incredibly lovely atmosphere, cozy and familiar. A must if you are strolling in the Bayawater area. You will not be disappointed. 🙂❤️ We left the place, a while ago… Satisfied and satisfied. Good wines had them too.

Absolutely amazing experience in this little Italian restaurant. Great food and great service. For someone who had been in Italy several times, I can tell the pasta and the pizzas tasted so authentic and incredibly delicious. Definitely recommend this place for dinner.

Was looking for a restaurant tonight. Walked in and look for an open table. There was a 5 person table just right in front of me and they waste seated right away. My turn and we have only 2 people. The bar is emptied and multiple 2-4 seats table open. But the hostess literally waved me off and shaking her head as no table available. I didn’t bother to ask more since she gave me the look that she didn’t want to serve me and my companion. Second time back to London, too much for British hospitality?

The food was just very average.

I was tonight for a meal with family. This is a very unique reastaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed , the food is deliscious. I had carbonara and zaboglione, i tried also tiramisu,all was perfect. Service was attentive and professional.

We ate at this restaurant on Thursday 29th November. This has got to be one of the worst dining experiences ever. The restaurant was cold. We ordered 2 pasta dishes. Extremely simple in preparation. I received the smallest serving of pasta l have ever eaten. Topped with 1 yes, 1 langoustine. Cost of dish .£29 . My partner, who is too polite to complain had the smallest portion of cache y Pepe he paid the bill whilst l went to complain. The lady didn’t offer to refund anything after l complained bitterly. She insisted that there were langoustine added to the pasta. This was not at all evident to me. In conclusion, they are obviously not the least interested in the quality of service to clients. I would Not recommend this restaurant and advise you not to patronise this establishment. Carol

We have just left this restaurant, a real good address! Everything was very good! The waitresses are amazing and super accommodating! Bravo for the atmosphere and bravo to the chef!

Beauty, art, wow. Such an aesthetic. Very unique. Creative decor and dishes as well. Took my expectations and put them in a box, set it on fire and spread the ashes in the river. Put my worries to rest. The chef is a deity masquerading as a man and the restaurant is an oasis in a soulless opulent desert.

Perfect dish! And the waitress spoke French and was very nice :) I recommend!

Stumbled on Garum for a late night bite and couldn't be more pleased! The staff was friendly and had great suggestions. The wine list was exceptional and paired perfectly with the delicious meal. The tiramisu for dessert was a must--though it's hard to say no to the other options as well!

A great Italian restaurant! The staff is extremely hard working and friendly. The food is extremely delicious, the tagliatelle cacio e pepe were to die for! The tiramisu is also super tasty and there is a good selection of Italian wines. However, reservations should be made as there are only a few tables and the restaurant is very busy.

I'm certain they've stolen a piece of Italy and planted it in London. Delicious and authentic Italian cuisine served by kind hosts, setting the mood as if joining the table at your Italian acquaintance.

Very tasty pasta dishes with great spices. Also very nice for children. However, the price-performance ratio was no longer ok. The portions were really small (19.75 for 8 tortellini) so one star was deducted. But the taste is great and also very nice service :-)

Garum Restaurant in London was fantastic! The tortellini was exceptional—delicate and full of flavor. Our waiter, Sasha, made the experience even better with attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend for an amazing Italian meal!

Stopped by this place last minute and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The pizza was great and the pasta dishes we tried had great flavour, BUT, when they say the pasta comes ‘al dente’ they don’t mean it comes with a decent bit of bite, they mean it’s verging on uncooked. Dampened an otherwise good experience. Maybe a better explainer is needed of what al dente means to them?

We were looking for a nice place to eat well in this area and we were not disappointed. The quality of the welcome is felt as soon as you open the door. Then come the quality dishes served in sufficient proportions. Here we find Italian home cooking the way we like it! Special thanks to the boss for this friendly exchange on the terrace and to Victoria (a compatriot!) who was very attentive to us all evening. Thank you for this lovely moment which was our last evening in London! To do without hesitation.

I picked this place after reading some positive reviews, although when I got there, at first glance, I had a strange feeling. Always follow your sixth sense! The service was acceptable, although when I asked if it was possible to change the background music (a loud, irritating noisy music), I was told that it was the restaurant's choice and it couldn't be changed based on customer's preferences. Okay, noted. Then it comes the food. I picked carbonara pasta. The bacon was oddly crispy, strangely fried. I will only say that I had a bad aftertaste in my mouth for hours. If I'll visit the Bayswater area again, I'll never go back to this place.

Exceptional! A corner of Rome to feel at home in London! Quality and professionalism in this splendid Italian reality in the heart of Queensway! Right in front of the Bayswater stop on the yellow and green lines, you can taste Italian and Roman delicacies. Classy concept of the tourist restaurant that is too often demonized, while here the dishes exude Italian and Roman excellence. Fantastic first courses and supplì that you can't find even in the capital. Thanks to Francesco I added another thing to do in London.

The service is nice and the place is nice, but the price is very high and the quality is poor. I advise you to change the Margherita pizza, as it is bad for the Margherita 🌹

Really Not good and overprized, salty, cold dishes

Really nice food and selection. The food tends to be salty. The giardinera salad was a highlight. Staff are lovely. The music is unbearable.

Super expensive, small quantity, and very bad taste. I have tried many Italian restaurants across the Europe and this one is definitely one of my least favorites. Service is good tho, but the food and price are ridiculous.

Overpriced and underwhelming In all our many Italian Restaurants we have been (in and out of Italy) this was sadly of the worst so fae. My partners Pasta (Ragu) tasted sour and my carbonara was bitter, which happens when its done wrong. We know the original recipes but this food was just not well made. After complaining they did not offer a solution. My partner ate his, i couldn‘t finish mine. On top of it all they expect you to pay 13.5% service charge and even then want you to tip. We would definitely not go there again.

Pasta was cold and tooo al dente. The pinsa was ok - but not the best. We would not recommend it.

We went here desperately looking for a good Italian restaurant and what can I say... we certainly found it! Impeccable service as well as the food, Italian and of quality. We took two tagliatelle with garofalato ragù, a gricia and three tiramisu. Francesco, the owner and a true Roman, was very kind and funny. Very nice environment. The only thing… be prepared to spend quite a bit!

The restaurant has a great vibe and the waiter/host/cook? was very welcoming. We arrived for dinner at 6.30 pm and ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer. The we noticed there were only two staff members in the restaurant. We were seated outside and inside there were two other couples so we thought it would be OK. Then two large parties arrived and we never saw either of the staff members again. And after twenty minutes we left. No wine and no appetizer. I don't blame the staff, they were obviously short handed. But in the city where restaurants close for dinner at 9:00 p.m. we did not have time to waste. So sad.

Wonderful restaurant - atmosphere, food & hospitality! The restaurant itself is beautifully set out - bare brick walls, eclectic artwork. The food was amazing - from baby squid starters & a spectacular steak (family had pasta and loved it but I went for the meat). Wine was excellent- went with the owners suggestion and it was excellent, even the wine glass was classy. Owner and staff were busy but always on hand and very hospitable. Would strongly recommend!

Last weekend I dined here with my family. The restaurant had a particularly unique and exuberant ambience, as the artwork and exposed brickwork indicated a great character. Prompt and warm service also meant we felt cared for and our food arrived swiftly, as we had recommendations which were catered to our needs. The natural wine list was particularly wonderful. The food though, was really the highlight. The Pane e Cipolle featured onions packed with flavour, and the Mozzarrella in Carroze felt to be a uniquely authentic Roman item. The pasta was really to die for! We tried squid ink linguine, carbonara and amatriciana, where all of the different pastas were cooked to a wonderful al dente. The squid ink linguine had a light flavour with undertones of lemon which complemented the seafood very well. The tomato sauce in the amatriciana was well balanced and flavourful, and in both the carbonara and amatriciana the guanciale was crispy and indulgent. The pinsa was also particularly unique, as the crust was very crispy and toppings generous and tasty. I would suggest visiting to anybody who wants tasty food, good service and an ambient, atmospheric restaurant.

Found this place at 68 Queensway, across from Bayswater Station, last October, and loved it, so I returned tonight with my grandson. Francesco is the kind of guy who greets you at the door and makes your whole experience really great. Relaxed and beautiful, unhurried, delicious food, exceptional service. The whole experience is what I always hope to find in a city, a small restaurant, run by people who know what they are doing and do it all very well. If you love Italian food and culture, you will not be disappointed here.

On Monday evening, my partner and I visited Garum. The service and atmosphere were lovely. However, the food was disappointing, to say the least. The two plates of pasta weren't cooked very well even though we paid £19 each. The tomato and green salad had no flavour, even though it's supposed to be authentic! The house wine was priced at £35 per bottle. This establishment is ideally located for paying tourists. However, I will not be visiting again. The waiting staff were friendly. However, the owner needs to sample the food and have a conversation with the chef at this establishment. This is why I have rated the food as one star

This place is weird, but it gets 4 out of 5 stars based on the food alone. It's in a not-so-great area of London, but the food is outstanding. Our servers all seemed to be brand new, so service was quite lacking. They were very pleasant, though. The prices were far too high based on the location and level of service. I would not go back.

We were looking for a restaurant that was truly Italian and luckily we found Garum. We ate an exquisite carbonara, delicate and at the same time with authentic and strong flavours. We then had the octopus which melted in your mouth. Chef Francesco is a really nice and kind guy, even the waitresses were welcoming and friendly. I recommend everyone to come here if you want to enjoy excellent Italian cuisine.

Italian restaurant run by a real Italian, or rather, by a real Roman! Excellent food, the quality of the raw materials is indisputable. The owner Francesco is very kind and sociable. Come by here if you want to eat real Italian food and have a chat!

Booked last minute on a Monday to catch up with my sister whilst I was in London for work. The restaurant is really nice, good atmosphere and we were given plenty of time and didn't feel rushed during our visit. The Chef came out to see us and asked us what we liked and made some recommendations as well as an excellent recommendation for a red wine to pair with the meal. The food was amazing and I'll be going back when I'm next in London.

I had the pleasure to eat at Garum for my surprise birthday party. The food was delicious, from appetisers, to main and dessert. The supplì and the carbonara were particularly great, and loved by everyone at the table. The service was absolutely fantastic as well. Francesco is a very nice guy and his team ensured we could have an amazing night at the restaurant. I really want to thank them for the wonderful evening and for being so kind with us, they certainly made my birthday party very special. I had a fantastic night!! I’ll definitely come back at Garum and I totally recommend it! 10/10

We got on last minute having arrived in a hotel later Saturday night. I had excellent wine recommendations from the waitress and the scampi risotto, was amazing!!!! 100% recommend

I went to Garum several times and it’s always been delicious. However the best experience I had at Garum was for my boyfriend’s surprise birthday party. Francesco and his team were absolutely amazing and allowed us to have a fantastic night! The food was great as always, all the guests loved it, and the service was impeccable. Every member of the staff was really kind and I cannot thank them enough for such a great night! I will definitely be back at Garum, absolutely recommended!
