We had taken the grandchildren for a visit to London in half term and decided to take them to Garfunkels on our way home. We walked in and were seated straightaway.

Can t review, as doesn't exist. It is now Frankie and Benny's, which was packed, so couldn't get in, even at 4.30p m.

Informé a la camarera no plana, pero me setas todavía tenía en mi plato. Agradezco estaba en Londres y los precios son más altos, pero se espera una buena calidad de comida. Los huevos revueltos estaba por debajo de la media, la tostada estaba fría, el bacon no era de buena calidad, de hecho, le daría a la 2 de 5. 九點多店已經開了，來這裡吃早餐是不錯的選擇，我點了傳統早餐，口味還不錯，不會太鹹，份量剛好，男生可能覺得吃不夠，但是女生來說是ＯＫ的。

Worth a visit, lovely burger served quickly by friendly and helpful staff who could not do enough. Definately be back.

Average prices, average food. Good service though. If you are looking for true Italian food this one is not the place.

Después de dormir en la tarde, nos dejó en este restaurante después de las 12.00. El menú de desayuno (por supuesto) había sido cambiado para el menú del almuerzo. Sin embargo, cuando le preguntamos al camarero, era más amable de conseguir un menú de desayuno y confirmó que podíamos elegir cualquier cosa del menú. Gran servicio! También, después de servir, varios camareros apareció para preguntar si todo estaba bien. Si quieres algo que es bueno, con buena comida, deberías probar Garfunkels en Argyll Street (justo abajo del London Palladium). No he tenido tan buena comida en las edades y nuestra camarera, Milena era divertidísimo. Ella era apresurado fuera de sus pies, pero tenía tiempo de broma con los clientes sin tono cualquiera esperando. Servicio con una sonrisa! - y la comida era para morirse!!

Fuimos para un rápido desayuno con amigos. La primera impresión fue buena, pero después de pedir la comida se acabó muy rápidamente. Cubos de patata y tocino frío frío en 2 diferentes desayunos y cuando se quejó de esto el servidor tomó las patatas y después de un par de minutos regresó con unos 15 cubos pequeños que ella dividido entre 2 personas. Cosas que no estaban ordenados trajo a la mesa y a la factura. Después de informar el servidor que no volveré nunca más se puso muy grosero. Todo el personal parecía aburrido y 2 de ellos estaban hablando en polaco efectuar comentarios sobre los clientes. Deberían darse cuenta de que hay gente de todo el mundo va a Londres y que hay una gran posibilidad de que alguien que habla su idioma podría ser sentarse en el restaurante. Gran decepción

Hace 20 años en mi luna de miel este era mi restaurante favorito, en una visita a Londres con la familia. La familia después de presentarse en trajo 10:00h. El personal era grosero, pizza fue quemada. nos dijeron que estaba abierto hasta las 11:30, pero nos sentimos que estábamos apurando la salida a las 10:30 no volveremos.

Haven't been to a Garfunkel's in years so when my wife and I needed a quick lunch we thought we would relive old times! Big mistake, Emphasize first the greeter and server were great and service fast friendly and efficient so top marks to those 'guys'. The problem was the food - scrambled eggs and salmon on toast - how hard could it be? dry overcooked scrambled egg and a credit card sized piece of smoked salmon - 2 of those a diet coke and a bottle of beer £20+ sorry just overpriced even by London standards. Will not make that mistake again and kind of sorry that a fond memory has been ruined.

Came here with a friend for lunch after many years of not eating at a Garfunkels restaurant.Menu has not changed over the years but that is ok. We were seated very promptly and our waitress was very friendly. As it was lunchtime we decided to choose from the lunch special menu. We shared nachos to start which were ok. Slightly burnt edges on a few. For main course we both decided on omlettes. Both were served piping hot and very tasty. Chips were good too. Only criticism was the salad garnish which looked a little dry Overall a good experience.

We decided to have an early dinner, around 4.00 pm as we were due at the theatre at 6.30. We had a look around Carnaby Street restaurants, but didn't fancy any, so we decided to try out Garfunkels - a restaurant chain we had frequently seen but had never eaten at before. We had eaten nothing all day and the menu looked good, so were were really looking forward to a tasty meal.Our waitress was friendly and we were greeted and seated quickly. I decided on the half bbq chicken and my husband plumped for the 'Tower Bridge Burger' !. I'd had a look at the salad bar, but the choice was limited and most of it looked predictable and a bit tired - not many fresh vegetables and lots of cheap filler foods, ie couscous, potato salad etc.The food arrived quickly, which did ring alarm bells. The chicken was warm, not piping hot, so it had not been freshly cooked. had either been kept warm or slung in a microwave and reheated for a minute, neither of which bears thinking about.. The piri piri sauce was acidic and not nice at all. I had decided on an accompaniment of chips as I thought that the baked potatoes might have been cooked earlier and therefore been sitting around since lunch time. But I didn't expect that of the chips - sad, soggy, limp and warm - obviously there had been a half hearted attempt to reheat them before scattering them on the plate - yes - scattering them, all around the chicken. For garnish, there was a dried up piece of corn on the cob. I don't know whether it was warm or cold, I didn't venture there. It just looked dull and unappetising. I tasted my husband's 'home made burger' - awful, dry, hard and unappealing - it reminded me of a value supermarket burger. We also asked for a large bottle of water, but only small bottles are available. We might just have been unlucky with our choice of Garfunkels, but I certainly won't be venturing into one ever again.

Locale molto carino, personale cortese e gentile. Ci siamo venuti con amici e devo ammettere che pensavo peggio viste le ultime recensioni, invece mi sono trovato bene. Servizio non velocissimo ma nella media, abbiamo preso fish and chips e devo dire buono. Tutto sommato un locale che soddisfa.

Having a lovely day shopping and fun with the family we decided to stop into Garfunkels for a bite to eat. Milena was our waitress and she was very friendly and instantly made us welcome. I would recommend Garfunkels to anyone and the staff food and service are fantastic. Keep up the great work.

My sister and I had a day of shopping planned. We stopped here for breakfast and settled on the small breakfast each. It was more than enough and with unlimited coffee refills we were fed and watered ready for a full day of shopping. Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant.

I call in here regularly for a bite to eat when I'm in London. Always busy, always buzzing and quite often a queue outside. Good selection of food on the menu and usually quite large portions. Staff are generally rushed off their feet at peak times, but are good at keeping an eye on you, and apologise for any delay if the kitchen is busy. On the whole have always had a positive visit to this restaurant.

We ate here as a family (4 adults and 2 children). It was well priced for central London, the children's menu for 2 courses and a drink was around £6.00 ish, and adults mains were around £12.00 each.The service was good and friendly and the food was good for the price.Would recommend here if you are looking for a standard meal at a reasonable price.

we regularly make Garfunkles a fun lunch date as it is great value, spacious, clean, offers nice food, and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff are always attentive without being intrusive, and we are always made to feel very welcome. You can make it a quick bite, or take your time, the staff respond accordingly. We used to visit a different branch nearby that closed a few years ago, and Merlina, one of the regular staff from there, transferred to Argyll Street earlier this year, and she remembered us......excellent customer care

I went there once before with a friend we got a meal and bottle of wine, the service was good the food was alright.Second time I went there I got pizza, it wasn't great, I did not finish it....Cliche: You get what you pay for.

My Wife and I eat regularly at Garfunkel's Argyll Street London and have never been disappointed. Our waitress last week was a young Lady named Vera and she was very helpful, polite and asked if we needed anything else which was good, a real treasure. If you like good food and plenty of it at a sensible price eat here. The Manager Sean, always comes over to us to make sure everything is OK and ask how we are, which is nice as he takes time to do this. Give it a try here, you will love it!!

We ordered an omelette and scramble eggs on toast and that's exactly what we got. The freshly squeezed orange juice had been thinned with water. Sad breakfast experience.

My wife and I chose this restaurant as we walked past during a day visit to central London as it looked cosy and the food advertised looked good. We were given a welcome and shown to a table underneath a speaker, and were immediately offered a quieter table when we asked for one. The waitress brought us menus quickly and then left us enough time to make choices whilst she served us drinks, a diet Pepsi at £2.85 and a pot of tea at £2.15, both of which I considered good value. My wife ordered salmon & dill fishcake, advertised at £10.95 and served with either chips or jacket potato and tartare sauce. I ordered a three egg omelette, advertised at £9.95 with three fillings and served with chips and salad. Our meals came quickly and were hot. My wife said her fishcake was delicious, but the jacket potato that accompanied it was microwaved and soggy but hard in places and not very nice. My omelette was nicely cooked and delicious, but was served with a very small portion of chips and the salad consisted mostly of the central stalk and very bitter yellow part of a lettuce. We had also ordered a side portion of onion rings at £3.50 but these did not arrive, despite my reminding the waitress a moment after our meals arrived.After we had finished our meals, I gave constructive feedback and highlighted the shortcomings to the manager, who apologised and promised to reduce the bill by 25%. He then deducted the cost of the onion rings and gave us the full bill without any reduction. I informed him that I would write a Tripadvisor review and outlined what it would contain.My wife and I both agreed that the restaurant did not meet our expectations, despite its advertising. We both agreed that we were right not to opt for the 6oz steak meal, which we initially wanted to order, as we saw that meal arrive at another table and it did not look as appetising as it should have.We were disappointed by this visit and cannot recommend Garfunkel's to others.

This restaurant chain is what it is. However, I do expect some service. We waited about 20 minutes before we were able to flag down a waiter to get some drinks. Can we have pear cider? Um, no we don't have any. Can we have apple cider then? Um, no we don't have that either. Then why is it on the menu???! After waiting for what was another fairly long time, the food came and it was okay. Then we had to wait once again to pay, unbelievable! We will NEVER come back.

We didn't even get round to eating at this restaurant because the waiting time was so ridiculous. They weren't even busy. My friend and I arrived and were left standing in the doorway for at least 5 minutes, before being shown to a table and ignored for a further 15 minutes. In the end, we just left because we were so hungry and nobody even acknowledged our existence. The chef was ringing a bell in the kitchen for service the whole time we were there and not one of the staff went to collect. They just drifted about aimlessly, or chatted to each other, not making eye contact with customers.

This restaurant must be reviewed for the market that it caters for. It's primarily geared up to provide quick basic food at relatively cheap prices. This is what it gave us. It was as expected & we were not disappointed. If I'd wanted a higher grade of dining experience, then I would have gone somewhere else. In this context, the food was absolutely fine & the service was excellent. In fact, considering that the restaurant was full, & people were queuing out the door waiting for a table to become free, I would say the service was exceptional. This restaurant is very handy for the London Palladium which is just a few steps away.

Visited Garfunkel's before seeing Leona Lewis on 5th March! Yes, they were fairly busy but there was more than adequate numbers of staff and no one seemed to really know what they were meant to be doing- everyone was trying to do everything! My mum and I were greeted 4 times at the door by 4 different members of staff, letting them know we had a table booked for 5pm but at no point were we taken to a table! Eventually a member of staff cleared a booth table for us...We then waited at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken and even then it was only taken because I called a waitress over! The food itself was very nice and the menu had a good variety, reasonably priced as well! When our food was cleared away at no point were we asked if we wanted dessert or any other drinks, we then sat for 30 minutes without any further attention until the point where we needed to leave for the concert! I had to ask for the bill and then go to the till to pay as no one came back to take payment!! It appeared that although they had an abundance of staff no one was being properly managed and the waiting staff hadn't been given clear instructions about the most effective way to do things! Highly doubt I will be going back!!

Met een groep vrienden gegeten. We werden keurig ontvangen, 5 minuten moeten moeten wachten op een tafel welke ook prima was. De rest was drama. Lauw bier, over gare maïs, en het voorgerecht kwam als laatste. Over het prima bereide vlees lag een vieze, veel te dikke laag saus. Hamburger was koud, en geen grote porties. Volgende keer lopen we een blokje verder.

Garfunkels use to have a really nice salad bar and would be okay to sit and have a meal. In need of modernisation it's so dated and looks like the furniture and fittings have not bee changed. The salad bar was very basic and hugely disappointing. The main course lemon garlic chicken was nice enough and the side veg with it. The service was good. So many nice places around there to eat though would not go back and salad bar was very limited.

Let's be clear - if you're in London, Garfunkels is not fine dining but....if you're in London and need decent food without being ripped off - then you won't go far wrong. We arrived to this venue at the wrong time (pre afternoon theatre) and it was busy. But what impressed was the way our waitress handled the situation - so simple yet really effective. Conchita explained before we accepted the table that food would be slow coming out due to the restaurant being busy - so obvious but often overlooked by us customers. Straight away she was managing our expectations. After being seated she took our order but was attentive throughout the wait, keeping us updated and informed. Food was okay. Salad bar kept us from getting hungry. So simple yet made the visit a good one. Thank you Conchita.

Came here with family for a birthday mid week working lunch. I had the salmon and scrambled egg on toast (£7.95), which was fine albeit a little dry. My sister had the nachos (£8.95). Diet Pepsi was £2.85. Overall service was quick, but quite brisk and not friendly, which was a shame.

The meal was great not excellent. I had ribs and chicken with chips and corn on the cob. The presentation could have been better and the corn was cold.My daughter had bacon and chicken carbonara which was just okay.Dessert was great though - we had sticky toffee and bread and butter pudding both with ice cream.Atmosphere was okay and the service was excellent. We were served by Melina or so.What I liked best - the dessert; what I liked least - the toilets...awful and needed cleaning.Overall okay experience.

We arrived at the restaurant and were found a good seat straight away. The waitress came and took our drinks and food order quickly and soon after the drinks arrived.We both had burgers, mine with blue cheese and my partners with cheese and bacon.However, when the food was brought, we asked for Mayo.. it never turned up even though we asked for it 2 more times. The food itself was ok, the burgers were ok and the chips were ok. The onion rings were good but they were dripping in oil!Once we finished, the dishes were taken away and I ordered a dessert, a trifle sundae. It arrived, in a warm glass and as such the ice cream was mostly melted. At the same time, we ordered some tap water, that also never arrived.We had to chase someone for the bill and then to pay the bill. The restaurant was busy when we got there but not towards the end so there was not reason for the delays. All in all, clearly a tourist trap and we would never go back again.

We popped into Garfunkel's for a quick bite to eat before seeing a matinee show - we weren't expecting anything particularly special but the whole experience was pretty poor.The restaurant was very busy, but this was to be expected at lunch time in central London. It only took about 10 minutes before we were sat down and didn't taken us too long to order. I only ordered a chicken Caesar salad and my husband ordered chicken and chips. After waiting nearly an hour we asked someone how long it might be as we had a show to see - we were told rather bluntly that "it will be a while as its busy". After explaining just how long we had waited our food miraculously appeared within the next few minutes but to be honest I wish it hadn't. I don't think I have ever sent a meal back when eating out but it was just terrible. My salad had some brown looking lettuce leaves, two cherry tomatoes and some cold burnt chicken. No Parmesan, no croutons and no sauce. My husbands meal came with some spinach on the plate which had not been well drained so it was all swimming in green water. The waiter was very apologetic and polite about our complaint and offered to take my meal off the bill as I couldn't eat it after we said we couldn't wait for another meal to be made up. We won't be returning. We needed up grabbing a sandwich at a shop down the road instead.

My friend and I were served by Ingrid on the evening of 3rd Feb 2016. She was joyful, fun and super helpful. The food and drinks were both served fast and were tasty!Major bonus is that this place offers free wifi - which is great for when you're having a business meet-up when food is involved! Overall a great experience and we will definitely be heading there again!

A notre arrivée la serveuse ne nous a pas dit bonjour. Prise de commande très froide. Après une heure d'attente, nous avons réclamé à une autre serveuse notre entrée. Les Nachos étaient froids et collés entre eux, ceci était sûrement dû à un long temps d'attente avant l'envoi. Pour les plats : Spaghetti poulet bacon froides sans bacon, portion de frite extrêmement réduite. Seul les wraps poulet bacon étaient convenables. Le temps d'attente ne vaut pas la qualité des plats. A éviter !

Es lo que podría ser en España un Vip's , pero malo y caro. Sanwiches horriblemente secos y mal elaborados. Lo único positivo la decoración y el personal.

I ordered porridge for my breakfast and it was cold and it didn't taste very nice. I mention to Milena my waitress and she quickly apologised and was happy to re make my order without any fuss. I chose the veggie breakfast instead which was delicious and filling. Thanks Mileham for a great service.

Had a wonderful time since we were a large birthday group it can be difficult to keep everyone satisfied but our waiter mohit was brilliant with keeping up with us. Service and food was fantastic :)

Wanted to sit outside but due to health and safety laws because it had been raining they couldn't serve us out there.... baring in mind I had been outside for about three hours it hadn't rained once and the floors were dry.So we sat inside and the chicken in lemon and herb sauce was probably the best chicken I have ever had.... just a shame that we had to watch three tables that had ordered well after us get there food before us. It would have been such a better experience if we hadn't had to wait. Maybe we will try it again and hope it's better next time

We went to Garfunkels for dinner just before seeing Cats at the Palladium theatre just up the street. We were running tight on time and we let the waitress know when she was taking our order. She was extremely friendly and helpful and ensured us we would get our food in time and checked back with us a few times throughout our wait. The restaurant was very busy as I imagine it gets busy each night before the theatre performances start, and the waitress gave us our bill when the food arrived so that we could speed up the process of paying before leaving, this allowed us to relax and eat in peace knowing that we had plenty of time to enjoy our food, which was also very good.

We were looked after Ruel and the service he provided was exemplary! Great atmosphere, really good food and easy on the wallet too.

My Wife and Myself try and go to Garfunkel's Argyll Street once a week if possible. We go here because the food, drinks and the service are top notch. Sean the Manager always comes over to say hello and make sure that everything is OK. Our waitress Conchita always makes sure that our orders are served promptly and hot. She checks to see if we need anything extra and always recommends new things on the menu, she is a credit to Garfunkel's!! Sean the Manager always tells us about specials so if you go there check it out as they have some great deals. You will not be disappointed here as all the Staff and Chefs are great, serving great food and giving great service.

Popped in here this evening for a quick bite to eat, the staff had no urgency to bring the drinks over. Our main course came before the drinks had even made it to the table. The nacho's had to be returned to the kitchen as they had no cheese on them, once they came back they still had little cheese on. Very disappointing.

Visited here yesterday with my family, we were seated promptly and the waiter introduced himself then never came back, after 30mins we flagged down the manager and explained what had happened and asked if we could order some food (which was done promptly and very nicely).Over the course of visit we were served by no less than 4 members of staff, were forgotten about twice and then got a rude reply in polish (obviously thought I wouldn't notice) from one waitress when I asked politely if I could have the drink I'd order 20mins ago.The food overall was good, the staff were very below average. Poor management leads to poor performance!Have NO interest in visiting this chain again

Op oudjaarsnacht voor 16:00 uur tegen heel voordelige tarieven een heerlijke hamburger gegeten in dit restaurant. Misschien minder geschikt voor mensen die in de drukte willen eten.

For the location I expected this restaurant to be much more than it was. Staff had no urgency for anything were not helpful in the slightest and it's by far the worst customer service I think I've ever received. Food was ok even though they got our order wrong but I did not mention it as couldn't be bothered to wait a long time for it to be changed. Will not be coming here again.

Popped in here for a quick lunch before a visit to the theatre.My partner went for the unlimited salad bar and I had a pizza margherita with garlic bread (maybe not as good as Pizza Express?).As per the title of the review everything was adequate, perhaps the service could have been a little more prompt?

très mauvais rapport qualité-prixservice lent (1h après la commande ) et peu sympathique (poussent à la consommation) un plat avec saucisses carbonisées , très peu de frites, Cesar salade très décevante, 1/2 poulet correct avec très peu de frites. 2e expérience dans cette chaîne (la dernière) la majorité des établissement étant fermés le jour de Noël.

We had a lunch for 8 on a busy day when there were queues at the door. The service was ok and the food was expected for £7.95 per person. Nothing fabulous, just good, hot food. But don't go to the toilets! There were 3 toilets in the ladies and two of them could have have been worse than a porta loo on the last day of Reading festival. The stench of urine hit you as you entered the toilets like an ammonia bomb going off. I was gagging so much I decided to 'hold'. Some people judge the cleanliness of a restaurant by the standard of their toilets.... this one is zero. I can only hope that the people cooking my food didn't have to use the same toilets.

Idéal pour une restauration en famille, car l'endroit est très confortable et la carte bien fournie.Il y a des salades, des pates, des fish and chips, des viandes, etc...Attention par contre aux heures de pointe, le temps d'attente peut être très long.

En opmærksom og høflig tjener, gav besøget et ekstra løft , maden er helt ok og prisniveauet er i den rimelige ende. De har også lunch tilbud og udnytter man disse for man rigtig meget for pengene, vi var 4 voksne som gik mætte og tilfredse fra restauranten og lidt overrasket over den gode service der blev leveret.

Var der med noen venner og skulle ha noen småretter og øl. Vi ble behandlet kjempe dårlig av vår servitør Agnezika, himlet med øynene og nærmest hånte oss da hun ikke trodde vi var gamle nok til å drikke øl. Jeg er 26 år viste legitimasjon men allikavel tvilte hun. Maten smakte virkelig ikke i det hele tatt. Lang ventetid på øl og servering. Hadde jeg kunnet gitt null så hadde jeg det! Aldri mer!

Located virtually next to the London Palladium do ideal for that pre show bite. Very busy when we visited on a Sarurday lunchtime but after a short wait got a table for two. When we left at about 1:30pm queue was quite long to get in.Food is your average pub fare nothing special, no beer on tap only bottles and not cheap. The tasty food was actually the desert, the bread and butter pudding was great, just the portion was a bit small.Server was friendly and food arrived quickly. Would use again.

Var der lørdag 11. desember 2015, for et lite lunsjmåltid og noen øl.Vi ble først møtt av agniezka, som var meget lite imøtekommende og dyttet oss bort til et bord. Vi som skulle ha en liten lunsj og noen pils fikk hånlige kommentarer, pga det som virket som misnøye for at vi ikke bestilte mer. restauranten var halvtom, serveringen tok en evighet, og vi følte oss ikke velkommen et sted. Og det falske smilet til agniezka forsvant rimelig fort da vi ikke tipset. anbefalles ei.

Visited with my partner today and the experience as a whole was mediocre. The service was generally good, as staff are friendly, but the food was barely satisfying. The portions were small and the quality was poor. Typical pub food, no value for money.

My wife and I go to Garfunkel's Argyll Street on a regular basis. We had a new waitress serve us and we were really impressed!! Her name is Eva and she was very efficient, professional and has a great sense of humour. Eva made us feel very welcome and made sure that everything was OK and asked if we needed any extras. Pop in and give it a try here, we always get great service. Also the Manager, Sean, came over and spoke to us making sure that everything OK. We thought this was great service from a Manager as usually when you go to a restaurant the Manager usually stays in the background, big up to Sean.

It's a great place staff always friendly food always hot really enjoyed the chicken wings always busy good prices near the shops

This chain restaurant is ok for a cheap .Meal portions are small and food not very imaginative. Staff are efficient and friendly. I would go here again as you don't have to wait for a table and service is prompt. As for the food very ordinary.

ci sono stato con mia moglie per un pasto veloce. Location accogliente e personale garbato. Menù interessante per la competitività dei prezzi. Ordiniamo attendendo il giusto. Ma poi quando si tratta di essere serviti aspettiamo un tempo assolutamente ingiustificato tenendo conto che gli avventori dei tavoli prossimi al nostro e venuti dopo di noi sono stati serviti tutti prima di noi. Solleviamo la questione con il cameriere che non mi sembra interessato alla questione più finalmente arriva il pasto che è simpaticamente preparato, ma senza sapore (pollo allo spiedo con mais). Insomma, non lo consiglio, non ci tornerò e non è adatto nemmeno per un "nutrimento" veloce (mangiare è una parola troppo importante per loro).

We visited London on a family day out and decided to have bit of breakfast in Garfunkles. We ordered 5 hot drinks and one cold they took 20 mins and arrived cold. After 40mins of waiting for two eggs Benedict we asked to cancel our order. The manager refused and said he'd get us our food. He returned 5 mins later with what can only be described as slightly warm bread (I'm unsure it had ever met a toaster) and disgusting raw, snotty eggs. The meals had clearly been rushed and whilst I appreciate the manager rushing them, I'd have preferred them cooked. We essentially ended up paying £30 for 5 Luke warm drinks and spent over 45 minutes twiddling our thumbs with a small baby... Very disappointing!

Was passing so decided to pop in. Manager on the door advised us that all chicken items on the menu were not available as they had run out of chicken. Decided to stay anyway and ordered an omelette with three fillings including mushrooms. 15 minutes later the waiter came back to say they had run out of mushrooms so I had to give a substitute. When the food arrived it was ok but would say the portion of chips was small. Afterwards ordered dessert and my wife ordered the English Trifle Sundae. Again after 15 minutes the waiter came back to tell us they had run out of that. When I complained I was told they had run out of lots of things as they had just had a busy week. That is not an excuse it is a sign of a poorly managed restaurant. We did not bother to stay for dessert and will not return there.

Having read a great review for the place next door (the writer had walked out of Garfunkel's in disgust) we decided to overlook the comments given that Garfunkel's looked busy.Was shown to a table fairly quickly. Placed our order for salad starters plus main courses. Also ordered a BOTTLE of diet Pepsi plus a draft diet Pepsi.Server promised to bring bowls for the salads. Waited for a while and a different server brought two glasses of DRAFT Pepsi. There is a reason for asking to see the bottle beforehand but on this occasion we didn't.Shortly after our mains arrived delivered by yet another server - still no sign of the salad bowls! Settled for asking for bowls and having salad to accompany our mains.On a positive note the meals were quite tasty and the manager didn't charge for the salads. However the lack of basic customer service far outweighs this.

Visited this restaurant yesterday evening whilst visiting London with my mum. Service was excellent and so was the meal and drinks. Would definitely visit again.

Went for pre=theatre meal before going to London Palladium just three or four doors down. Very convenient. Advise booking before going, although this was a Saturday. Food excellent - hot and nicely served. Waitress very friendly and helpful, particularly to a vegetarian friend in our party. Prices not too expensive as it is the heart of Theatreland.

This is the second time we have been here in a month. The first time it was a very busy week day early evening. We expected it to be busy and it was. The food is always good, In line with what you would expect for the price. Unfortunately the staff and the environment are terrible. They obviously cannot cope with the quantity of people they have coming in. We waited 10 minutes for drinks and then a further half an hour for food. No apologies. The card machine was not working which they did not tell anyone when they came in. People were having to go to a cashpoint and get cash. Again no apologies.Today as it was a Sunday evening and no theatre traffic we thought we might get the service we would have expected from a Garfunkel's (having been to many over the years). This was not to be. The restaurant was not busy but there were lots of uncleared tables and a dirty floor. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken. Another 10 for the cutlery to be bought. We then waited a further 15 minutes. We could see our drinks on the bar but no-one bought them over. as we were at this point the only one's waiting for drinks one of them was wrong anyway. Our waitress was totally uninterested in us or what we wanted We could barely hear or understand her and not sure she knew how to smile. By this point I decided I was not prepared to put up with this any longer and we got up and left. one waiter noticed us and we told him we were unhappy.l. No apology no nothing. Also as we left I noticed some tourists who had come in just behind us and they still hadn't been served at all. Garfunkel's your standards have definitely dropped and not sure I will be using any of the others again either.

We had lunch at this restaurant on a Thursday. We were greeted at the door by Vilmante, who showed us to our seats. This very charming young lady took our order with a lovely smile while recommending a particular dish and asking for our drinks order. We ordered from the lunch specials menu, which was better priced that the standard menu. I ordered the classic burger and I can happily say that it was the best I have ever tasted. Everything about the meal was perfect and the bill was reasonable (if you don't compare it with McDonalds). We bought a chocolate bar from the newsagents after we left.If we had ordered from the standard menu and also ordered desserts and drinks, the bill could have been significantly higher - so be warned. Central London is very expensive.

My husband and I always head to a Garfunkel's as we normally love their food but at this restaurant they food was terrible. The staff greeted us at the door and we were seated very quickly. When a waitress came for our order it was like a robot was serving us, not very happy to be in work at all and while we were ordering she kept her eyes on the door as new customers were arriving and she went to seat them while I was in the middle of ordering - After having to repeat the order again I ordered a Lasagne but I might as well have ordered soup as it was so watery with an average of one spoon of meat in it, my husband had their Steak and Ale pie which contained very stringy pieces of meat and very watery gravy and to add insult it was microwaved food. For someone to call themselves a chef and serve up this muck is an embarrassment to the trade.

I've been here in my 20's and loved it. I'm now in my 50's and tolerated it. It's fine, you get what you pay for. It was convenient for The London palladium as we were seeing cats. the meal was ok, a little dry from sitting on a hot plate I assume. the staff were friendly, we were served by Brian and another colleague. Tables were jammed in so conversation was hard with a small child next to us. more interesting than a burger in a fast food place.

Non ero mai stato in un Garfunkel's e devo dire che stile tipicamente inglese del locale e del menù mi è piaciuto. Per il resto è evidente che si tratta di un menù tipico di una catena, ma la varietà della scelta è discreta, dal fish and chips, all'hamburger di qualità, alla carne da steak house. Personale gentile e arredamento in stile retrò. I prezzi non bassissimi, ma neanche alti per essere in pieno centro di Londra.

Very busy Sunday afternoon- Had to wait 15 mins for a table. We were attended to very well by the waitress who took our order promptly. The drinks arrived after ten minutes the food took 25 mins. When the plates arrived chips were in place of the ordered jacket potato and a portion of BBQ sauce was nowhere to be seen. The waitress checked her PDA and agreed returning the plate to the kitchen. We had to wait a further ten minutes for the correct order to arrive. By this time the other food was starting to get cold. A portion of BBQ sauce ordered failed to arrive until over half way through consumption. The portion sizes are small and overpriced. The food quality was good however. I was not expecting this restaurant to be great but overall it was very average with poor service and overpriced for London.

My niece and I meet regularly for lunch here and our visit is always more enjoyable when our favourite waitress,Conchita, is looking after us. She is friendly, efficient & makes us feel special. We look forward to seeing her on our next visit!

We had visited them while shopping. We entered by 2pm for a late lunch and got the food served only by 4pm. The restaurant is kid friendly. They gave my kids some puzzle book and colours to keep them occupied. But the service was dead slow. Portion was very less too. They gave a free salad bowl for compensation! So they actually know they are doing a mistake! If you are free on time, you can visit them with kids

Bestilte lasagne med hvitløksbrød. Akkurat passe porsjon. Den var helt grei, men det var lite spennende. Fikk litt følelsen av Friday's av interiøret. Var litt høy musikk, så måtte prate høyt til hverandre for å høre hva den andre sa. Ikke veldig romantisk, men helt greit for en kjapp matbit.

We went to this restaurant on Saturday night 2 hrs before the show started. It was fairly busy but we were seated quickly. The waitress came and took our drinks order. We got them about 15 mins later. She came back for the food order and 1/2 hour later we got our starters only to follow very quickly by our main course - we hadn't even finished the starter.we just made to the show in time needless to say we will not be going there again. The show Cats was brilliant !

Not impressed at all. I went here with my mum for a pre-theatre lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was packed which was to be expected, however the seating arrangements were atrocious. We were sat at a table crammed between the others and got a dirty look from the diners next to us when we had to squeeze in beside them. We were so close to our other neighbouring diners that we might as well have been sat on the same table as them. The music was loud with people talking over it resulting in a very noisy restaurant.I ordered a glass of the homemade lemonade and my mum had a cranberry pressé which she described as tasteless. My lemonade was bitter and pulpy. We were tight on time so we didn't order starters and instead asked for the Peri-Peri rotisserie chicken and the omelette. My mum asked if she could have her omelette with a ham and mushroom filling. The waiter said yes but when it arrived it only had mushroom.Already underwhelmed by the experience so far, I tucked into my chicken which didn't taste much better than your average service station grub. The outside was cooked but as I cut into it further, I found that it was still pink! I sent it back and waited for the replacement. By the time it arrived my mum had finished her omelette. I cut into the chicken and once again - PINK! I gave up at this point and instead ate a less than nourishing plate of bland chips. I left the rest of the "meal" and informed the waiter why when he came to take the plates away. He apologised but nothing else came of it.Deciding we didn't want food poisoning, we skipped on desserts, paid and left. The service is friendly (if hesitant) but that was the only positive I took from this place. After we left I wish we'd just gone to Nando's for some proper Peri-Peri chicken - at least it would have been cooked.

Popped in after some time spent in the local shopping streets. It was busy and we had no choice but to take a table by the toilets, it was also at a pinch point for the servers so we were often disturbed by others. Food was very average and relatively small amounts. I know they cater for a large throughput but a little more care and more per portion would not go amiss.

Poor service, five of us waited for the food which was very slow and no apology was given. Two kids were starving! Not impressed at all.

Came here for a meal before a Palladium performance. There was quite a long queue, after 15 minutes standing we got a table. We waited between 20-25 minutes to be served. The meal its self was relatively good. It was hard to find an adult meal under £10, the prices could do with being a bit cheaper. The scampi and chips was poor value for money. We will visit again.

My Wife and I have been visiting Garfunkel's Argyll Street for well over a year now and have never been disappointed. The food there is always tasty and reasonably priced. Also the service is always great by all the Staff. Our waiter is usually Gustavo who is always professional, helpful and always has a smile for his customers. They do some good deals here, especially the Garfunkel's breakfast. which is huge!!! Also the Managers, Jane and Sean always check to see if everything is OK and are also very friendly. This restaurant is definitely worth a try if you are passing. they have a large menu for all the Family and cater for everyone. Pat & Mick

La atención de los mozos es muy buena y se preocupan porque no falte nada. Muy buena la entrada de pan de ajo! Muy recomendable lugar y muy cerca de Regent Street.

Food was gorgeous, maybe a little pricey. Good quality comfort food. The lasagne and BBQ Ribs and chicken were really nice. Staff were very friendly also.

Visiting London with two little girls meant we were up and about super early on Sunday morning so headed here for breakfast. They were really accommodating of my 5y olds demands of bread and beans

We ate there that early, because our plane arrive so early to London. Rest of the places around are open at 10 or 11 am.Breakfast was good, quick and more than enough for a person! I would come back again. This restaurant located 2 minutes away from the Apple Store!

After a visit to the Palladium visited the restaurant again with friends and were not disappointed. Short wait at the door but no more than five minutes. When we arrived at our table greeted by Ingrid, our waitress for the evening. She was excellent, and quickly arrange for some drink and took our food order. We wanted to make one or two changes, skinny chips instead of fat, a starter as a main meal, ice cream with the dessert, and all of these were dealt with swiftly and with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, enjoyed the salad bar, although the dressings could have been labelled. Food delivered at a steady speed and all in the party of four enjoyed. Will certainly return when next at a show, and ask for a table with Ingrid, her service with a smile made us all smile too. Reasonably priced too. Only negative was the state of the toilets, these are small for the size of the restauarant and did not appear or smell that clean

Excellent service, seated quickly, although the restaurant was not full when we arrived. Staff were frieindly & attentive, quick to refill drinks.A very small point, no onion on salad bar & no labelling of sauces. It didnt stop me enjoying my meal.

After shopping at Hamleys stopped at 1090 Garfunkels for tea Great service from start to finish Served by Vilmante Food was superb Scampi was delicious washed down with a Strawberry milkshake. The apple pie reminded me of one I had back in the 70's at my favourite baker Yummy!! Service with a smile Free WiFi with a good signal so able to speak to my daughter on my iPodWell worth a visit whether you are shopping and need a bite to eat or off to the Palladium for a show as it's not too far

Pre 7.30 show at the Palladium. 2 hours in this restaurant watching slow service - the next table waitied over an hour for main courses, otehrs wrong orders, thers cold food,food coming out in incorrect orders Four individual tables each for 2 so close together we all made friends! Absolutely 20% overbooked resulting in very disappointed customers. An amatuerish shambles

I was looking for somewhere to eat before going to the Palladium. I chose Garfunkels having not been to one of these restaurants for years. My waitress greeted me and found me a table. She was extremely polite and didn't push for an order, just how I feel it should be. My order was well cooked and exceeded my expectations. i have to say that the waitress who served me, Conchita, was one of the best waitresses I have ever dealt with. She was polite, checked my meal was ok, without being overbearing, and happy to help with any extras I needed in terms of salts, peppers, etc. it was a pleasure to eat here.

worst restaurant experience in a while. Waited for a table for 2, and while we were waiting, other couples who had walked in after us without reservations were shown to tables immediately. Requested a meal without mushrooms which, when it arrived this request had been completely ignored. The food was tasteless, and the wine we ordered was warm.

quick service, great food, pleasant attentive waitress, Vilmante. not too much on the plate, nice tartare sauce, all fresh. Wish the music was slightly quieter though.

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Only 2 members of staff on so waited forever to be served. By the time our food finally came it was overcooked,tasteless and i got the equivalent ov a couple of teaspoons of beans.Def wont be going back!!

Family of Four had å great meal at the Garfunkels.Excellent service from the waiter Santos. Good pizza, good burger, good sausage and mash. Friendly atmosphere, and recommended for families.

Went here with a friend on Saturday before the theatre at 5pm. Place was busy but not rammed. Took 45 minutes from us sitting down to our drinks order being taken of which the took our food order at the same time, starters came out and were nice enough, 5 minutes later the waitress come over with our mains asking if we were ready for them!! We clearly weren't so she took them back to the kitchen, when she brought them back out when we were finished the chicken I ordered was lukewarm at best and had obviously just been sitting on the side since it went back! When I told the waitress she tried to convince me that it wasn't cold to the point it was very awkward and I never send back food! People on both tables next to us all got served much quicker and this was a terrible experience! It took us 2.5 hours for 2 courses which as much as we like a leisurely meal this was just a joke!!!!

My Wife and I go to this restaurant on a regular basis and have found the food and service to be consistently excellent. There are three Managers who we speak to, Jane, Fabio and Sean, they are always pleasant, professional and make our visit a really great one. Our waiter Gustavo, is always friendly and helpful. He comes over to make sure all is well and asks if we need anymore drinks or additional food. Gustavo is a credit to Garfunkel's and always makes our visit special. If you are passing by this restaurant give it try and you will enjoy your time there.

We popped in there before we went to the Palladium which is next door. Very helpful for a quick coffee and cake so we went back after the show as they stay open late.We were not disappointed. Usual good service and plenty of choice even late at night.We were not hurried and the waitress was very attentive.Nice end to the evening and the show was great.

Called in as we had a short time to get a meal before we got to airport.Friendly service and good choice on menu. We had nice meal, reasonable price and good atmosphere.
