Gandhi Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Stafford

We visited here at peak time on a Friday night and they were more than accommodating, rushing aside to set up a table for 2. The staff are very polite and welcoming and have suggestions from the menu. Food was really nice and served in good portions. This resturant was mentioned to us as it has a rural location. The resturant car park only has a few spaces for parking and the walk in has you doubting your decision with the unkept shed outback and uneven gravel and patio but as soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with the aromatic indian cuisine and welcoming staff. I would definitely visit again.

Dined in tonight 4 adults 3 children 1 baby. First time eating here. Staff were lovely, very welcoming, helpful and great service. Food was delicious from starters to mains. We all ate well and enjoyed everything we ordered great attention to detail. Definitely be back.

Watch out when booking as they try and fit in more than the one booking without notification, so our courses were rushed and spoilt a lovely evening even with offering free drinks in the bar so that they could have the table could not make up for a relaxed and pleasant evening

Overall a great experience. Busy Saturday night, nice venue, fresh, tasty food and excellent service. Set behind the Hunter pub which is a locals pub for sure. The restaurant is quite different. Only dropped a star because the curries though rated 2 chillies were milder than our taste. You never know how high restaurants set the bar for hotness!! Would recommend.

Awesome food yet again and a fantastic welcome from staff

I just fall in love with Their dishes and with lovely stuff specially i mention everyone to have one meal course in this restaurant. Environment are so lovely with delicious food. King prawn puri, chicken Tikka masala, And starter items are really fantastic.

Ordered three curries and biryani. Generally small portions. I get better curries in a supermarket. Lack of ingredients, sauce and meet, no vegetables. Cheese Naan with very little cheese. Very average quality. Also had to wait 15 extra minutes for collection.

Lovely food. Been going here (and having delivery) for several years now and it is consistently excellent with very friendly and helpful service. Wins awards for quality on a regular basis and they are well deserved.

Really great restaurant. Fantastic food which tasted great and was presented beautifully. Friendly staff and plenty of choice on the menu. I visited on a quiet night in mid December, purposefully looking for somewhere that wouldn’t be too busy with Christmas parties. The best Asian restaurant in Staffordshire. Food was excellent and the service was perfect.

We have been using Gandhi for many years now, but over the last couple of months, it’s become very bland and expensive. I really wouldn’t wish it to fail as a business, but based on our recent experiences we have been very unimpressed. The food has gone downhill and the prices have gone up. I really hoped the new owners of this read this review and change things accordingly. We will not be using these in the future or at least until things change.

Excellent Indian restaurant. We arrived on-spec early on a Sunday evening and, despite being very busy, we were squeezed in (we were asked to vacate the table by a partciular time, but that was fine.) The staff were great - arrentive and very friendly. The food was excellent; the quality of the popadum dips is always a bit of an indication as to the general quality of the food. Here, they were great. The mains (including naans) were also excellent and we'd happily go back. Pro tip 1: book a table. We were lucky, you may not be. Pro tip 2: the entrance is, indeed, down what looks to be the driveway to the left of the Hunters pub. There are signs and you just have to trust them...

We went to Ghandi Restaurant this evening to vertebrate our sons birthday and weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. There was a great choice of food and drinks, service was spot on and friendly. They catered well for our young daughter too. Would highly recommend and will certainly be returning.

Well what can I say, it's like going back 20 years, how pubs and curry houses used to be. Pub a warm welcome, got Bass on, Landlord and locals friendly, Nothing special but this is how pubs used to be, Welcomining. Gandhi's, Nice welcome, taken to our table, Staff very friendly, Authentic music. Drinks food ordered promptly. Food nice, taste wise among top 5 in S-on-T, needed more sauce, But nice, asked if food was ok, they need to come round more often to replenish drinks. On the whole a good night, would return.

Really great food and service. Well presented and really tasty. We've tried a lot of the menu now and have not had a bad one. Recently took 30 of us for a family meal, not one person had anything other than the highest praise and all will be visiting again on their own and as a group - the banquet is immense value, especially for such award winning quality food. Manager is great, chef comes out for a chat, drinks are reasonably priced (and you can get a Malabar!). Absolute gem of a curry house.

The service really was the highlight. Have never had better service from staff. You are catered to. Attentive and well mannered. The food was such a delight. I loved the garnishes on the side. The effort was appreciated from staff and chefs. Atmosphere is good and location is also really lovely. Its a gem of a place. Starters aren't overpriced like most places. Mains were priced as average. Food was tasty. Well done to all hard working staff, credit to the business indeed.

We've been back many times now and have recommended to friends and family alike and they all love it. Each time we have tried different dishes and we're never disappointed. An absolutely fantastic Indian restaurant. And as an added bonus it has a nice little country pub attached to it. Happy days all around if you like a lovely beer and a fantastic curry together in one area. The restaurant offers four courses for £14.95 Monday to Thursday. And every course is top quality. You can choose from anything off the main menu for your starters and mains which in itself is brilliant. Top quality food with amazing staff that are so friendly and attentive. A lovely clean place as well. An absolute must for beer and curry lover's alike.

My wife went to the Gandhi Indian Restaurant yesterday evening for the first time, with two friends. We all agreed that it was one of the best Indian meals we have ever eaten and, we've been to dozens of different Indian restaurants over the years. We started with popadoms and pickles and for mains we tried something different: Palok Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Ghandi Special Bhuna and South Indian Jalfreizi with rice and naan breads. The presentation was exquisite and the food was simply divine. The service was outstanding too. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you Ghandi Indian Restaurant, I just wish we'd found you sooner.

Award winning and i see why. Friendly service and a great range of traditional dishes in this re purposed hay shed to the rear of a quaint country pub. With somthing called the Gandhi Banquet runni g on week nigjt offering 3 courses with poppadoms and naan for 15 pounds we were off to a great start 😀 the food was well cooked came hot and very tasty not to mention well pesented.. zero alcohol Cobra helped me give this place 5 stars for effort and the waiters recommendation for main was in fact delicious. Although the name eacapes me 🤣 Not usualy in this area myself but i can understand why its still a good idea to book even midweek for this place.

Really tasty, flavoursome food. I had the Madras and the level of spice was perfect. Little one had Massala and in his words 'devoured' it (and the chips), Better half had the Ghandi Special Shashlik and was tasty, flavoursome, nice level of spice. Great service, nice setting, music great. Highly Recommend 5* experience.

Love this place well worth the drive for a good meal with brilliant staff

We ate here on Valentine's day. Unlike so many other places they kept the prices standard, but the meal and service was way above standard. We had the buffet deal, so poppadoms and 4 dips, our starters, mains, sides and dessert of the day. The food was excellent. I gambled and went hotter than normal for my starter, but dispite it being a bit too hot for me it was so tasty I could not help but finish it (even mopping up the plate). Our mains were stunning, both on the eye and the stomach. The dessert of the day was a mango rice pudding which closed the meal off beautifully. As we were the last customers left by the time we finished we had time to engage more with the staff and social chat with them. There is a real passion there for the service they provide. We rarely eat out unless on holiday (mainly due to cost of eating out these days) but we are already planning a return visit. Can not belive this gem is on our doorstep, yet we only just found it.

My starter came and it was like a barbeque topping for a pizza.The chicken for the main meal wasn't real chicken,it was compressed. There wasn't much flavour in the sauce. Very disappointed sorry

First time at the restaurant but won't be the last food and service excellent. The staff that were on duty were kind and very helpful as iam a disabled male nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

The food here is great. I have visited a few times and i have quite varied taste, but I must say sweet dishes such as the Butter chicken are delicious, as are hotter curries such as Jalfrezi. Balti is definitely a speciality here. Staff were helpful and friendly and price is very good. Definitely recommend.

Phenomenal service phenomenal food

Went to Gandhi's on Sunday night - when the staff discovered my birthday was the day before, they came with a beautiful starter for us on the house. The staff were amazing and couldn't have done more to cater for my vegan diet and the food was very well presented, super tasty and there was plenty of it. We both really enjoyed our visit and it won't be long before we go back - thanks to everyone at Gandhi's for a great dining experience.
