GammaGamma in City of London, Westminster

Terrible service. Turned up to find the restaurant has closed but was not contacted in advance to let me know my booking would be cancelled meaning it was a wasted trip. All social media platforms still say they are open which makes it extremely misleading and means others will have made the same mistake. When I finally got through to them via social media I got a very disappointing response which showed no understanding of customer service.

No one answers the phone. Unable to book on the website for drinks. This is awful. No voicemail. Now have to make plans to go elsewhere even though I've bought a voucher on Groupon. Disappointing.

The staff were very friendly and helpful to me and my mum. The food was fantastic and in particular I would like to thank the waitress who sang happy birthday with me for my mum. Please could you tell me her name , all I remember about her she was Sri lankan but born and raised in Italy, hope all of you are well and safe.

Waitress was rude & told us if there was a vegetarian we would have to pay twice! Arrived and the barman waved at us to sit down at a table facing a wall. Waitress took ages to come over and could not explain the menu clearly. She was confusing and actually thought she was being funny. we couldnt understand the menu but she got our drinks before we decided to leave. We had 1 vegetarian and were told we would have to pay twice. No thanks!

The location of GammaGamma could not be better, and guess what? The Korean food could not be better either. Wish I could rate it higher stars cos I was blown away by the exotic, spicy, rich taste, I suppose their famous signature dish is the Korean Fried Chicken, its marvelous! Also dont miss the wagyu beer burger on a bagel.

Popped in on a Saturday night with two friends on the off chance they might have a table... and they did! So off to a good start. The restaurant has a modern yet cozy vibe and a good buzzing atmosphere. The whole place has a nice feeling to it and I really liked that interior decor. The menu is very good with the right amount of choices. I had the soft shell crab bun to start and the goat curry for mains and both dishes were delicious and a decent size to! We were all very happy with the quality of the food. Can’t fault the meal it was superb. What stops me from scoring GammaGamma as excellent are 2 points: 1. The waiter had a habit of clearing plates away when we hadn’t all finished our meal. This happened during starters and main courses. This really bugs me when waiters do this. Makes you feel like you are being rushed. I had the feeling he may of been new but still not an excuse. This needs to be rectified. 2. They don’t make espresso. They can only serve regular coffee which, to be honest, I could make at home. So apart from the waiter being overzealous in clearing our table when some of us were still eating and not having a varied choice of coffees to end the meal with this restaurant is very good. Would we go back yes 100% ... I can always get a coffee on the way home. Haha.

Having booked online we arrived to be told there was no record of our booking. Good job we had the email confirmation. We had some drinks and sat down. Service was consistently slow throughout our dinner. The restaurant was not busy and the staff were often chatting amongst themselves whilst we sat there with empty glasses. We were a table of four - one of our starters arrived after the others had finished. The food was nice so it's clear things in the kitchen are well run. Front of house is seriously in need of training and management. We booked on the back of generally good reviews on TA - sadly this was not our experience.

The food was ok but everything else was dreadful. Staff were clueless and rude. Ordered set menu but the staff were unable to tell us what was on it, walked away when there were any questions. Have visited Gamma Gamma twice now once before Christmas and as a result of that visit again last night. As we were theatre bound the 2 or 3 course theatre menu was ideal and at £14.99 for 2 courses including a glass of Prosecco I thought this was very good value Then the food arrived and what stunning flavours. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The food was lovely. It was brought out in a weird order and we weren't sure if a mistake had happened or not - so the large plate he had ordered came out about half an hour before the large plate I ordered. Never mind, we shared and it was all yummy. Our Italian waiter (sorry, I forgot his name!) was lovely. The woman who I think was managing the restaurant was polite but you couldn't go 5 mins without her coming over to check the table. I understand they wanted to keep the tables looking tidy, but we had to say we weren't finished with our drinks about three times each. Best food of the night was the soft shell crab burger, the duck puff (my fave) and the lobster bao - DELICIOUS. The bill was hefty, but I did feel like I got a good amount for my money. Don't bother with the zebra - it was the only plate that wasn't amazing to eat and very small for how much we were charged. Not full marks because the way the food came out was a bit odd and we felt like we couldn't hold a proper conversation because we were interrupted a lot, but I do understand that they were just trying to be attentive. Maybe on a busier night when they can't be so on top of you is better.

Loved the food! Next time I will get more of the chef's special because the szechuan lamb bao donuts were amazing. Also loved the duck and hoison puffs. Yum. Great service, good location. Make reservations.
