Went on Tuesday for half-price steak night. Fillet was excellent and each one cooked as ordered. Only downside was the delay between starters and mains. Would definitely return as the menu offers a lot of choices.

Went for Sunday lunch. We hadn’t been for a while but they were, as always, very welcoming and friendly. The Sunday menu is great value and the food was very tasty. We will go again in the near future.

Top tier food and drinks, amazing staff and make you feel so welcome and catered for. Steak night Tuesdays is a must as all steak is half price, best steak I’ve had. Quality of service and quality all round. Can’t wait to return.

I would say this is probably one of the best meals out I have had for a very long time. Food was fantastic, freshly prepare and came out piping hot which I don’t think I have ever had when eating out. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and I love the open kitchen so you can see your food being cooked. I would definitely recommend and will be revisiting many times. This was the perfect meal to end a perfect birthday.

Good food and service but just be aware this is a busy, and very noisy restaurant where comfortable conversation can be difficult at times, certainly on a Saturday night.

We booked for Valentine’s Day via Opentable. The restaurant manager emailed me for a deposit, even though there wasn’t warning of that being needed within this app. Restaurant also brought the wrong wine to us and we didn’t realise until we got a shock with the bill! The restaurant adjusted the bill though.

Lovely restaurant! Been a few times and always had a great atmosphere. Very busy for a Tuesday night (I can’t say I’ve ever seen it not busy) Timing on food was spot on… really quick but enough time to also have a chat in between. Youngish guy who’s front of house was lovely and toped up wine every so often. Food is always great and really lovely place. Will definitely be going again!

Such a nice place to eat and spend time. The first time I have visited since 2020 and I was not disappointed, from the very accommodating and courteous staff to the depth of menu and quality of the food and surroundings. A great time out and fun atmosphere.

Food was delicious - all 3 of us really enjoyed everything we had which is rare. Everything tasted like it had been made fresh. Our coats were taken at the door, we were offered water, and we were checked on throughout the meal. The atmosphere was good - we went slightly earlier to avoid it being really busy but when we left it was packed which is always a good sign!

Always a good experience. Food is excellent and Vass is an absolute gentleman.

We visited as a large group of 12 people for our Christmas get together. From the minute we walked in, everyone was attentive to our requirements and couldn’t do enough for us. Great service from the team and the food was simply outstanding,….the steaks!!!! We will be booking again for 2024 if this is the standard! From start to finish the waiting staff were exceptional, couldn’t of been more helpful, extremely attentive, always looking around to see if people wanted more drinks ect. Food is extremely good and definitely worth the money. I’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience.

Our first time and it was a fun evening. The nicest staff making it feels like a big family atmosphere. Tasty Mediterranean food and a great ambience. It's quite loud inside so more of a place for a celebration or fun night out with a group than a romantic meal for two.

Went for a Festive Lunch with my oldest friend. The food was outstanding. The service was excellent. I love this place so much that I'm going back on Friday with ten of my colleagues for our Christmas Lunch and then will be ack again for Christmas Day lunch. Need I say more?

I visited today with my brother and we had a lovely brunch. The service was friendly and fast. The food arrived promptly. I can highly recommend the Eggs Benedict with spinach. And the Americano coffee was lovely. Lovely experience

We love Galu. Food and service are excellent. Only thing I don’t like that much is the acoustics. When it’s very busy and music is on it becomes difficult to hear each other. Maybe that’s just my ears :-)

The guys at Galu really look after us when we spend the evening there. Personal service means a lot. We feel looked after and valued. You do not get that everywhere. The food was also fantastic and at the right price. We look forward to going back in the New Year!

I had not been to Galu for approximately 10 years and was so disappointed in how downhill the food had gone. The jus with the pork belly was gravy granules!!!! The pork belly was over cooked as was the bacon on the scallops starter. Such a shame. When you pay premium prices on a Monday eve you expect premium food

Little hidden gem, great food, service okay, but Tuesday nights are organised chaos, reasonably priced, friendly staff happy to go again. If you visit lunchtimes parking can be a bit awkward.

Just really disgusted with Galu 8th Nov.. I ordered steak and chips, only got the steak, the chips belatedly...I complained and wasn't charged. Great? No. Not great. Spontaneous visit with my wife, I ordered a ribeye steak, chips billed as coming with tomatoes and rocket. Steak arrived, no chips...surly waiter telling me 'the chips are coming'....no rocket, no tomatoes. Steak was barely warm, so I started to eat it...half gone, said surly waiter brings chips over (salad never arrived) and I complained....steak and chips should come with chips at the same time...place was half empty, not like they were busy..zero empathy, zero apology....just simply 'ok so what do you want me to do then...you don't have to pay' very aggressive, very threatening (sub text being...just shut up , you don't have to pay, so suck it up.) I'd much rather have paid and had steak,chips and salad at £30 as listed in the menu come as steak, chips and salad...not just a steak. Waiter was beyond rudeness....muttering away that I'd complained and staring daggers at my wife from outside the kitchen...made her feel really uncomfortable. Disgraceful. So thanks Galu....we went on the hoof...my wife been battling serious illness for two years and we'd dropped in having been in Kingston Hospital for three hours to cheer ourselves up.... and you gave us a really poor, unwelcoming, bad quality experience...So angry. Waiter should be in the Parking Warden business not hospitality service... unpleasant, rude little man. My advice? If you want to be treated by some miserable mid life grubby waiter as if he's doing you a favour by letting you eat bad quality overpriced food in some underwhelming pad, then this is definitely the place for you. Enjoy...

We had the best time, nothing was to much trouble and everyone throughly enjoyed the whole evening. The girls had super impressive mocktails at the bar then a fabulous set menu. Great value for money and a real family fun atmosphere. The staff were super efficient and friendly What a brilliant ideal location for a party 🎉 Definitely a 5 star review from us and all of our guests X

Four people dined and we all had different meals. Everyone was happy with their selection. Everyone wants to go back soon.

Had an early (5.30pm) booking so place was empty when we started and pretty rammed when we finished, on a Tuesday! Drinks were served quickly, tap water was being topped up but they eventually put a bottle on the table as we had a lot. Was half price on steaks which included the tomahawk so we went for that; a beautiful steak, so filling we couldn’t finish and had to take a doggy bag! Only downside I would say is they charge £5 for green beans which are maximum 10 basic beans each with no seasoning/sauce/anything to upgrade them

My wife and I visited Galu on Friday evening after an absence of many years. The welcome we received was warm and friendly and the service was very attentive in spite of the restaurant being very busy. The food was as good as we remembered it being and the portions large enough to need a 'doggy bag' to take home. Apart from a slight hiccup over the bill (quickly remedied) it was an enjoyable evening and we will not leave it so long before we return.

Have not been to Galu for some time but have forgotten how wonderful the food, atmosphere and service is. Tuesday is half price steak night and was certainly very busy but that did not detract from the service or the food. Great to see a busy restaurant (almost full) on a Tuesday evening - speaks volumes itself - no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Friday night - 4 of us had a great evening, food was great, service was excellent, super friendly staff and we had a variety of people checking in, that we had all we wanted - bit it got very noisy as it was a busy night and the music was loud and quite heavy, so we were shouting to talk and it became hard work in the end - would definitely recommend, but the noise level was high.

Came to celebrate the kids’ new jobs. Immediately welcomed with a friendly face. There was no wait to be seated despite the restaurant being busy (Tues night is steak night - all steak half price). We were not hurried to order and after drinks we started with deep fried squid, haloumi and trio of dips…all delicious; especially the squid which was cooked to perfection. As it’s steak night 2 tomahawks, usually £75 each but tonight £37.50. Amazing, cooked as requested and served with a choice of sauces and sides - you won’t need sides as the steak is 1kg…well worth it though. Desserts of ice cream finished off a perfect meal - great value, friendly staff and clean location. We love Galu and I would highly recommend a visit.
