Good portion size, food was very taste , only downside the music was a little too loud for my liking but great place to eat out

Had the set lunch menu with a girlfriend, the food was absolutely delicious, service was great and wine was very well priced! You can pay so much more than this locally, for nowhere near the quality of the food and service. Can't recommend highly enough.

A lovely experience from start to finish. We got a friendly welcome and a bottle of water on arrival which is always a good sign to me. We ate off the set menu which had plenty of choice. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Had a fantastic meal at Galo's last night My wife started with scallops, which she said was the best she had ever had. My starter was prawns, squid & and chorizo, which was just perfect. Onto the mains, prawn & lobster ravioli for Mrs S & Italian sausage pasta in an amazing tomato sauce for me. Everything is served by friendly & attentive staff. We highly recommend it, but just 1 tip, arrive hungry as portions are quite generous. At under £100 for starters, mains a nice bottle of wine & 2 Sambucas this is good value.

Fabulous food, great atmosphere and superb service are on the Menu at Galos Kitchen in Ilkley!! Visited with friends for, all of our, first time and we unanimously agreed that it was fantastic. Good honest homemade Italian fayre accompanied by really attentive service made for a fab evening. Don’t think twice - book and enjoy!!

It is only exceptional visits which encourage me to review, this is one of them, the ambiance, friendly, warm, welcoming, relaxed. Staff, Amy and Kelly-Louise, were, professional, extremely welcoming and friendly. The food, when you hear comments, "you can feel the love which has gone into the food" this is it, simple, excellent quality ingredients done to perfection, a joy, a memory to hold, every course beautiful, A wonderful experience, cannot wait to visit again.

We went for lunch and it was amazing! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. There were 6 of us and we opted for the lunchtime set menu; 3 courses and a drink for £25pp. Not only is it a bargain, but it was flipping delicious 🤤 We had a variety of starters, including arancini, mussels, garlic bread (which was so big it carried us through to mains and into a doggy bag to take home!) and calamari. They were all so tasty. The mains were equally as delicious and the desserts, oh my, they were the absolute cherry on the top! Perfectly executed crème brulé, creamy luxurious tiramisu and truly tasty sticky toffee pudding.

Ah what a place! What a welcome, what a meal, what a celebration! We met here last Saturday for a birthday meal for my Dad's 70th. I haven't been to Galo's before and to be honest beforehand I was more interested in catching up with family I've not seen for a while than what the food would be like - often when you go for a meal as a big group, it's not the best. But it was AMAZING food. Really tasty, and lots and lots of it. Great value. The team were also really welcoming and friendly (despite us being in their way a lot of the time, greeting and hugging, taking photos etc). I would definitely go back. Picture of the tastiest, most well presented, and biggest portion of seabass I've ever eaten. Thank you Team Galo! x

I've only been once before and said I would never go back,I went on Saturday the 20th of July because I was invited to a 70th birthday party in been cheffing for 64 years and pride myself on genuine good food my daughter sat next to me ordered lasagne it wasn't lasagne so they changed it it came back exactly the same some pieces of pasta at the bottom of a dish with some tomato sauce on top with a handful of green leaves on top, lasagne it's a layer dish of pasta meat and cheese sauce baked in the oven ,the meal was a disaster glad we weren't paying to give it no stars is been generous,

Having worked in restaurants (Italians) for past few years of my life I can confirm this place is by far best Italian food I have seen eaten and purchased!! 10/10 quality 10/10 service CRAZY reasonable prices!! Bravo !! Also would recommend adding option to tip on card for when people done have cash :) you guys deserve it :) other wise you can leave cash :)

Utterly fantastic! Today we had pizza for take out! I had the Calzone which is by far the best calzone I’ve ever had, seriously! My partner is Coeliac and had the Gluten Free Amore, in her words, the BEST gluten free pizza she’s ever had! Every time we come to Ilkley, we will be back!

Very nice restaurant indeed. We called in for lunch after shopping in Ilkley. Friendly staff who wore a nice smile. The food was very good. We were given complimentary water & nice bread with balsamic & olive oil. I had calamari to start. My wife just had mackerel pate, which was an enormous portion. I had seafood pasta for the main course, which was very nice. The fixed 2-course lunch includes a beer, soft drink, or a glass of wine, great value for £19.95. Car parking is exactly next door.

Our first time at this restaurant and won't be our last. I'm gluten intolerant and often when we go out to eat, I'm made to feel like I'm 'that awkward customer' and end up with salad! The staff at Galo's were very helpful and well informed about allergies and there's a wide range of gluten free options on their menu. We had a fabulous antipasti board to start, and pizza for mains. My gluten-free pizza was hands-down the best I've ever eaten. And the desserts were delicious too. The food and the service were totally excellent in every respect. And the prices were reasonable too. Can definitely recommend Galo's Kitchen. We're already planning our next visit!

I visited with my daughter and my granddaughter, who has coeliac disease. The manager Kelly-Anne was outstanding in her knowledge of allergies. The assistant manager was great too. The food was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to go there again.

We visited Galos kitchen on the recommendation of a local Tap House as we were visiting Ilkley. What a find, the food was excellent, the tomato garlic bread was the best I’ve tasted (we’ve been to Italy several times!), and it was freshly cooked. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and very efficient. A great dining experience and I’d highly recommended a visit.

If you have not been here then it is a must go to place. From a very warm welcome to an unbelievable meal and experience. They were busy at the time but kept us informed which was great. We ordered the seabass and it was absolutely delicious, we couldn't get enough of the balance of flavours and the fish was cooked to perfection. I write a lot of reviews from all over the world and I have to say this meal certainly ranked in the top 3 of dishes I have had. Superb!!!!

My meal was flipping marvellous. Owner, when you read this can you comment on where you got your chairs from as they were usually comfy and I'd like some for my kitchen. Antipasti platter to share, so a selection of meats, olives and breads. Fabulous, what is not to like. Could have eaten that on my own it was so delicious. Carbonara. Yes I know it is very 90s, bit I happen to like it and it was cooked UK style to perfection. Home made tiramasu. Perfect. I don't give many eateries 5 star and this hit that balance between excellent service, a reasonable price FOR the quality of food. It is not cheap but it is proportionate for the quality of the food. This is my 3rd visit and won't be my last. Parking available nearby. Wheelchair accessible. All diets catered for. Ps I have just hit 8.8 million views. Very pleased with myself.

Second visit on valentines night. I surprised my wife. It was fantastic again. The food is delicious the atmosphere is relaxed the staff are amazing. The seafood pasta is delicious my wife loved the lamb ragu. Puddings 10/10 We will be back.

Once again the meal was outstanding! The staff are helpful and sociable without being pushy, and the atmosphere is warm and intimate. Value for money is excellent. Without doubt this is the best Italian restaurant in the area. My wife and I love it here!

Superb independent restaurant, make sure you book even mid week due to its popularity and cosy size. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The set menu is varied and excellent value for money. Our starters: the calamari, and the goats cheese & beetroot tart. Fresh & homemade, absolutely delicious. Loved the zucchini that came with the calamari! Main courses: 2 perfectly cooked rare steaks with perfect fries, salad, and a delicious peppercorn sauce. Dessert: shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Went on a Saturday evening for a birthday celebration with my partner. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly . The food was amazing with huge portions and great value for money. The menu is great with loads of choice. A lovely atmosphere allowing conversation to flow with not too many tables on top of each other. Highly recommended

Found this place down the side off the main st, nice entry with light, it was almost full for a Thursday night, good sign, nice decor with an Italian touch. We chose the all in inclusive meal £24 bargin, i don't no how they make a profit on this, service 10, atmosphere 10, food 10, value for money 10+. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Looking for somewhere for lunch in Ilkley we dropped in to Galo's Kitchen not knowing what to expect. The food we ordered was superb, this place is a gem, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. When we visit Ilkley we will make this a regular stop.

Just one example of the level of service and attention; because I had pepper on my first course, a young lady was standing by with a pepper mill when the second course was served. We chose to have a main course and a desert. Mine was rump steak and chips with peppercorn sauce, tasty steak cooked to perfection. I would have liked a little more salad, it was really just a trim. Our other main was pasta with lamb ragu. Excellent. Highly recommended

What a wonderful evening! From start to finish our experience of Galo's Kitchen was amazing. A lovely, friendly welcome awaited us as we arrived. The waitress who attended us was very cheery and made us feel at home. The menu was varied and had something for all tastes. But the food.... Oh my word...was a taste sensation. For starter I chose Mare E Terra The portion size was generous and every mouthful brought a flood of taste, it was amazing. For mains I chose Prawns and Monkfish Pasta cooked in chilli and garlic, seafood bisque and saffron sauce. Another generous portion, oozing with flavor. One thing of additional note was how generous chef was on the main ingredients. Quite often when you visit restaurants you get more bulk (pasta) than meat of fish, not at Galo's, there is plenty of main ingredient, all cooked to perfection. For a thrifty Yorkshireman who likes value for his hard earned cash, this is the best. The chef is a master of their craft and the staff have got it spot on in customer service. We'll be going back again for sure and again and again. A real find

I don't know how they give such high class service and spectacular food for £19.95 for a 2 coarse meal. I have been this evening with 2 professional Chefs and they have instantly booked for a future Birthday as we left. Service from the 2 girls working was second to none and a credit to the restaurant. The owner also was polite and and professional as 2 of my party were late due to a Taxi problem she sorted this and gave us more time which was really appreciated. Would very highly recommend, can't praise enough. food atmosphere everything top notch 100% Well done to you all from front of house to chefs behind the scenes.

Sunday roast at an Italian. What can go wrong? Nothing it turns out. A simply perfect traditional Sunday lunch…the chef here is outstanding. This is our first time sampling the new roast menu and will be a regular fixture from now.

ILKLEYS LITTLE HIDDEN GEM 💎 2courses - £19.99!! (includes steak at a £3 supplement) We had buffalo salad and pizza bread for starters. Followed by lasagne and steak (medium rare) for mains. We didn’t have the dessert menu as completely full from the 1st two courses but from what I noticed from the kitchen, it would be well worth checking this menu out if your loving your desserts. We had 4 x glasses of wine, 2x red and 2x white. Cost £36 a head with a 12.5 % tip. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A MUST VISIT BOOK IN ADVANCE AS ONLY A Small, Quaint restaurant.

A midweek lunch. Had the £17.99 menu 2 courses and a glass of wine. The service was excellent, the staff were attentive and the food was super. The garlic pizza starter was more than enough for two and delicious, the mains were so tasty and we shared a brownie. We will definitely return.

I visited Galo's Kitchen with friends for lunch recently. I'd recommend booking beforehand as it is a small but popular venue and was quite busy when we were there midweek. Funnily enough we all had the chicken dish from the set menu and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Portion sizes aren't huge but it was fine for a lunch. I had the Panna cotta for dessert and thought it was absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend a visit here.

Beautiful little Italian restaurant in Ilkley. Great wine list, and we enjoyed glasses of the Italian Soave. Staff were friendly, and there was a lot of delicious dishes to choose from on the menu! We opted for the calamari and zucchini fritti and the mussels starter, followed by steak, and a seafood pasta. Seafood was good in quantity and size, fresh and flavoursome. The 2- or 3-course set menu is very good value.
