Excellent food last night ,great service an the wine is the best I've tasted would highly recommend.

Came here on a quiet Thursday evening. They had a fantastic offer on for Steak, chips & salad and a glass of wine for just £10! It was all delicious & nice wine as well. Will definitely go back

Went here for friends Silver wedding anniversary Howard the owner and his staff pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a fantastic night food was delicious I cannot praise this restaurant and staff highly enough absolutely fantastic.

First time here and the service was excellent. The food was reasonably priced as well. I'll be returning.

Had a fantastic meal with family for fathers day had the 1kg tommohawk steak cooked to perfection have always gone to gallimores and will visit again soon 1st class restaurant .

Firstly, this review has no bearing on the waiting staff. They were attentive and friendly. Attended for lunch. Ordered scampi chips and salad for £11.50 What arrived was underwhelming and certainly overpriced. Literally 11 chips on the plate (undercooked and some of which small). The scampi was in a small bowl and was comparable to cheap freezer section scampi that you can buy in Asda. I ordered a side of peppercorn sauce for £3. This was small. So, the meal cost me £14.50 (drink on top of this). Won’t be returning. Also, do not go thinking you can use a Tastecard, albeit it being on the Tastecard app as 25% off. They do not accept it.

Sorry Gallimores but I was disappointed 😞 frozen mash, undercooked roast potatoes. Plenty meat though. Staff were lovely but not to the point I will be returning

Called in as we were passing , 8oz steak special with salad & chips small house wine or draught pint £10 each , excellent valve for money , Great staff checking everything fine thru out the meal , better half got a cheese board to finish off ! This is a must try , we will be back for sure .

We booked our wedding meal here. We went for a 3 course meal for 38 adults and children so had the room upstairs. From day one Howard was so attentive and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. ( even working round nut allergies and wanting the kids mains with the adult starters). The room was set out exactly how we wanted it and Dane and the rest of the staff were amazing. They are a credit to this fine restaurant. All the courses were received within a good time frame ( and 38 meals at a time is very good organisation) There wasn't one complaint about food. It was excellent quality. Table service for drinks which made life easier for us all. All in all we had a fabulous evening here and would definitely recommend. Our thanks go to Howard, Dane and the rest of the staff for making our wedding a day to remember.

I recently celebrated my 30th Birthday at Gallimore’s and what a fantastic night! I booked the upstairs room for a party of 41 and the brilliant vocalist Conal Duffy. I cannot thank Dane and his staff enough for their attentiveness and hard work. The night ran seamlessly, the food was amazing and I would absolutely recommend the venue to anyone.

Went for date night here, the food was absolutely beautiful. Mine and my partners steak was cooked to perfection. The staff were really friendly and very attentive to our every need. My partner proposed to me there and the staff did everything they could to make it special also gave us a free bottle of prosecco 🥂 would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going again very soon.

Absolutely awful…..so outdated and old fashioned menu. Not sure why people rave about this place!! …I can cook better food myself tbh and the snide music just made it feel I had been transported back to the 80’s in the beefeater

Gallimore's restaurant for lunch was superb with an appealing menu., Dane the maître d' and his staff made me and my brother in-law, very welcome. After taking our drinks order, Dane discussed our options with us and recommended a main course to share of seafood and a chicken combo. The food was delightful, tasteful, with a five-star presentation. The restaurant was light airy with a classy decor to help with your dining experience. I would recommend Gallimore's to family and friends. This is a hidden gem

Went last night for tea. Lovely food (sea bass was beautiful), attentive staff. Never had a bad meal here yet.

Absolute chaos says my title. Why? Booked a table for 10 for 5pm on a Saturday and yes it was busy. But the chaos was in control. Im not a fan of criticising places and the food here is very good as we have been several times but orders were mixed up, didn't arrive, they came wrong ...and the first person who got their dinner was at 630pm. One hour and a half after arriving. One of the party had finished and one hadn't even got their food. A few of the party switched their order due to the restaurant running short on ingredients...fine, I get it but to tell us at 620pm after we sat here for an hour and 20 mins isn't on. The final straw was one of the party gave up their main and went straight to dessert as we simply didn't have time to wait any longer. We were very stressed as we had a deadline to meet and a very important place to get to. I have given it 3 stars as the good is very good but the service wasn't good at all.

Had an absolutely fantastic time here for my husband’s 60th. The staff were lovely. Can’t thank the owner enough for his constant help to accommodate all our requests. I would thoroughly recommend Gallimore’s for their welcoming service, lovely meals and their attentive staff. Thanks again!

Gallimore’s exceeded my expectations as it was a casual looking restaurant (warm and cozy, made me feel at home) but offered top quality meals which tasted as if they were made by experienced/skilled chefs. The menu offered a wide variety with amazing value for your money. I highly recommend the steak meal from the lunch menu….. the best peppercorn sauce I’ve had in my life. Very friendly Manager/Staff as a bonus!

Simply the best in Wigan . Do book otherwise you will be upstairs. Food is fresh , wine the Finca Alta Malbec scrumptious. Just a really good place to eat .Bravo 👍🏽

I tried this restaurant after seeing great reviews on TripAdvisor. I went on a Sunday we tried the Sunday lunch chicken and I tried the spaghetti Bolognese. Just say I was disappointed was an understatement. The spaghetti Bolognese was absolutely disgusting. It wasn’t even in a tomato based sauce which is a traditional recipe. the Sunday lunch consisted of what I can describe as some mixed packet, vegetables and a big chicken breast split in half, the starters was even worse I tried to give my honest opinion and I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I really think that this restaurant has great potential. They really need to get a grip on what chefs are cooking what food Food which was presented to us was something like prison food very disappointed

Gallimore's provide a magnificient lunch. We had seafood pasta, which was delicious with great textured, orange mussels in shells and exquisite curled, opaque large prawns. Fabulous flavours. We had well done, Rump steak and chips, cooked to perfection. The table service was excellent. The atmosphere was just gorgeous, we hadn't expected that at lunchtime. The disabled toilet facilities are exceptional as well as spotless.

We have been tonight there was 6 of us and everyone of us enjoyed everything the food was fabulous could not folt anything and we will definitely be coming again. Thank you so much for fitting us in tonight .

Lovely atmosphere and accommodated to us very well as it was a birthday celebration of 16 people. Food was also lovely and the deal of having a 2 or 3 course meal for a set price made it an easier experience. Thank you 🌸👏🏼

"Fine" is both an overstatement and also exactly on the money. Food was fine, but not great. The salmon on the salad was beautifully cooked (puts the fine in fine dining) but the salad itself was just chopped lettuce with too much dressing. We came with a baby and had to ask for both a highchair and a kids menu. Staff were friendly enough but at times did seem a bit clueless. Overall the experience was a bit underwhelming. Probably won't go back.

Food was good service was abit rubbish we was told to find a table and someone would come to us then two other groups turned up and one of them was served before us we sat for a while and no one came out to us until my husband went in food was quick to arrive may go back not sure yet

I strongly advise you choosing elsewhere to spend your money, the food here comes with a lovely side of hair🤢and ignorant staff including a ‘manager’ who couldn’t run a business worse than if he actually tried to! Shame because this used to be a great spot way back when😢I had the chickpea cauliflower curry and was disappointed and disgusted to say the least after finding a long hair wrapped around a piece of cauliflower in my food… myself and everyone I know will not be returning here again, place should be closed down for hygiene safety, clearly there is a problem🤢🤢

Excellent food and service; friendly staff. We arrived at 12.30 for lunch, by 1 pm very busy. Husband had Liver & Onions, me scampie & chips. All cooked perfectly, hot and delicious. Puddings of strawberry cheesecake very nice. Sticky toffeepudding not good, but was quickly changed & manager apologied. Nice friendly atmosphere; upstairs room had coloured strobe type lights which affect me, but, the waitress turned these off at my request. All in all a decent lunch that I would recommend to all I know. Will be going again probably Sunday lunch.

After attending Gallimores restaurant for a family occasion, I found the portions of food served to be extremely small for the amount charged. I also found that the staff member that was waited on our table to be quite forceful/intimating be constantly approaching us to enquire about our drinks ect. At the point of ordering a desert it was made aware to 2 out of a 4 people order's was not available to be served, even though it was still stated on the menu. Looking forward returning to Gallimores restaurant would be very much down the list in a place to dine for a family occasion.

Been going to gallimores for years ,have a chat with the owner Howard ,always enjoy the food ,however the short dark haired lady who serves me was sharp & abrupt with me when I went in Wednesday 5 th July ,she said there was another lady who's order was to be taken before me, which I had no issue with, but she did not address me in a polite way she was very abrupt ,so I walked out don't think I will ever go back civility costs nothing.

Great food, had the steak, good value for money. Service was excellent.

Been before but this will probably be my last, sat down and under my table there was loads of crumbs and dropped food, I ordered the hummus which said comes with a flatbread, however it came with a big standard wrap which was cremated, I ordered the burger and chips, the burger was lovely, the chips not so much, they were dry and bland. My partner ordered the steak and chips, which came with salad, which was really just a sprinkle of bagged mixed salad., the condiments are cheap and awful tasting. We had a coke each which was just a can of coke, but charge you over £2 for a can! I now believe Wetherspoons are nicer than this place lately, what annoys me more is it’s claimed to be “fine dining” I wouldn’t be as offended if they simply lowered their prices and stop claiming to be something they simply are not. The only good thing about our visit was the staff who came in on a 5pm start, she was lovely, our waitress never did a check back she just stood chatting and laughing with the chef while the other staff member cleaned and polished all the silverware.

I was in a large group and the service was friendly and efficient as there was enough of them to cope with the volume of guests. The food was excellent at reasonable prices. had a thoroughly enjoyable evening in a lovely atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Normally when people ask where to eat in Wigan I’d happily recommend going here. Every time I’ve been I’d order the same meal (lamb shank) and each time would not be disappointed. Unfortunately cannot say that any longer. This visit will be my last. The Lamb fell off in chunks, the lumpy mash could have passed for potatoes and the veg supplied (3carrots and 1 piece of broccoli) was bland. We also ordered a panini which for the price was underwhelming and the chips raw.

Visited today with my Mum and Sister, the staff were very f6and helpful. Me and my Sister had sirloin steak and my Mum had the gammon, all were cooked to perfection. I've got to say it was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend.

It's only the second time I have been here, the food was excellent. I had steak and ale pie with homemade chips and my friend had gammon which she said was excellent.

Arrived at 1830 a bit early for our 1900 booking, was greeted by the owner in a very friendly and welcoming way, Shown to our table, which was clean, the staff were very friendly and our waitresses although young you would have though they had been doing it for years, Our drinks arrived followed by our starters, we was asked on numerous times throughout the evening if everything was ok. The food was first class we would recommend anyone to try. we have booked Xmas and New year eve with them and we are looking forward to many more meals here.

Portion sizes far too small.. 1 bowl of veg between 3 people.. 4 tiny boiled potatoes with my steak… did they forget to go shopping? Oh but they didn’t forget to come back to the table 3 times to ask if we wanted more drinks… I went out to eat and came home hungry… was going to stay for dessert but didn’t fancy my chances with the portion sizes… no children’s menus given to us even though I was there with my grandchildren .. won’t be going back…

I went with my son tonight and it was rubbish. Had to wait over an hour between courses and my fillet steak was supposed to be medium but was tough and almost raw, the chips looked and tasted like low quality frozen ones and the sides were just poor all around. Fine dining it aint .... not even greasy spoon quality

We came here on Friday 21st May for our anniversary, been wanting to try Gallimore's for a while, so we got around to booking and going, it was the the first Friday after indoor dining had reopened after lockdown (for readers in the future) my wife and I ordered from the evening set menu, which had plenty of selections on (sorry no photo of that) my wife had fish and chips with peas, I had a steak and chips which came with a selection of vegetables and a side of gravy, both meals were lovely and plentiful, for our desserts we had chocolate fudge cake and a cheesecake,all in all the meals were lovely and tasty.

Awful! Pricey and terrible food. Had the cock and bull. Tough meat vinegary sauce and awful chips. Also portion size was tiny. Seriously I'm fuming with how bad it was not one redeeming feature.

Ordered a 3 course meal to celebrate our ruby wedding Lock down take away ..Food was hot, well presented and tasted really really good.Cannot state how tasty this was and it was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone considering ordering..well done Gallimores.
