Great prawns option and ribs. Great value for money and lovely view of the cairngorm mountains. Good , friendly and competent staff. So glad they have reopened 😁✌️ i'll be back.

This is the only Chinese buffet worth going to in the Inverness area ...

Do not waste your money, food was not great a lot of the dishes were empty nearly done. Serving dishes not cleaned between use so old rice poured on new rice. All the sauces are very sweet. We hardly ate anything- really was a waste. Very loud music too and the place did not look very clean the cabinets were covered in marks.

I arrived and it was dead. Only me in and the food was fresh and tasty. Worth the money if your after a mixture of good food. Staff were pleasant and were there to help. Would reccomend at any time

Good options and when we went 6:30 on a Saturday there was about 35 people in so the food was getting replaced all the time! Nice and hot and plenty of it! Staff were quick at clearing plates and also friendly:) does exactly what it says on the tin! Very enjoyable

Visited during Thunder in the Glens 2024. We were made to feel as though we were a huge burden when ordering! Spoken to very abruptly and with a degree of distain. My father and I only wanted to order a couple of burgers and were in good spirits so hopefully we were not rude or demanding to the staff to justify this service. We had a roughly 15 minute wait and were not offered and condiments unfortunately. The food was warm and fairly tasty but aside from that it is probably not somewhere we would visit again.

The food was like most buffet styles, but it's a buffet I would return too. Curry sauce could have been more Spicy but it still was a lovely flavor. If your looking for good Chinese food and some lovely cakes I highly recommend. 👌 😋 Staff are very friendly and lovely. Nice warm atmosphere Good music also This is the reason for my 5 stars

The restaurant itself is really clean, tidy and modern with the staff being super friendly and down to earth. If you are looking for a traditional buffet restaurant with all the usual favourites, the Galaxy World Buffet has you covered from all angles: starters mains and the best of classic desserts. It isn't your average dark and dingy buffet, its bright and airy with everything fresh and warm, it would be ideal after a day of trekking around the Cairngorms or if you are in a large group and all want to eat at once. It is slightly pricey for what you get but with the ideal location, customer turn over and the business trying to get by it is really worth it. You definitely leave feeling full and feel like it's money well spent!

Expected your run of the mill buffet place. Same idea but the selection was great and there was always staff checking and refilling the food. 3 young guys on the floor and behind the bar who all offered great service too. For £20 a head the value for money was great

Let’s start with the good points . The young staff were welcoming friendly and polite . The restaurant was clean and nice decor . Despite its signs saying children must be supervised and no running , the staff didn’t bother to point this out .i get this is an issue the food industry needs to address , badly behaved screeching children running riot . At first glance there is a decent amount of dishes but not a world buffet .when we arrived there was no fried rice , no problem we had starters and assumed rice would be topped up . We assumed wrongly . Several customers also asked and after 40 minutes some arrived . The only other dish replenished was chips .so it really isn’t as much as you can eat .i get you can’t and shouldn’t waste food but small and often replenishment would be expected. The staff didn’t pay attention to clearing plates and rarely attended the buffet , too busy chatting and helping themselves to alcohol from the bar . While waiting to pay a couple complained . The guy who gave our bill did ask if everything was ok . I said it was pretty poor , he was emphatic, apologised and said we really need to look at this .

We went here on a Thursday early evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was good. Very well laid out and clean buffet area with mostly Chinese food which is what we were looking for. The standard was as good as any other buffet I’ve had. Great view of the Cairngorms from our table too.

Bright comfortable buffet restaurant with very friendly, welcoming staff. Great choice of food that was fresh and very tasty. Well worth a visit if you're in Aviemore.

Good, Chinese chippy food, lovely profiteroles for dessert. Friendly staff, but the place is tatty, bland, and boring.

Bright, clean, modern buffet on the first floor, with good views of the hills (there is a lift), featuring Oriental, Indian, British and goodness know what other cuisines. I can say what I had as I filled my plate(s) with assorted dishes; my other half is vegetarian and asked what veggy dishes they had: she was given a veggy menu and just had to circle the dishes she wanted and the kitchen cooked them to order. Selections included soups, spare ribs, curries, macaroni cheese, mash, satay and ... well, you get the idea! We were both really impressed and will definitely be back next year!

Booked table for 8pm, on arrival one person said they had no booking however, second person advised he had taken booking. Was then advised they were closing at 9pm. They advertise the food is constantly being replenished. We ordered a couple of lagers and proceeded to go round the selection of food, container after container was empty, only one prawn on display, the areas around the containers were filthy and say it was a world buffet was a joke, mostly Chinese couple of Italian dishes. The place was disgusting, it does not deserve to stay in business. Should also point out that it’s very large with lots of seating and only 4 people were in eating, every picture tells a story.

Horrible tasteless food... This food was the most horrible chinese restaurant food experience i ever tasted... I dont have words to describe this... If taste matters to you run away from this.

If you can't get a seat in any other restaurant (group of 9 people), you'll definitely find something here. The staff is very friendly. There is food from the buffet for 21 pounds pp. The food is varied, but rather average, i.e. not a taste that you remember for a long time. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a typical hall-like restaurant in China ;-) So you get full, but the price is rather high for the quality, unless you go for pure mass in the 90 minute meal slot.

Arrived at 6pm. Greeting was warm and friendly. Quickly seated by a helpful waiter. Drinks order taken and invited to enjoy the buffet… we did. The food was fresh and tasty. A good selection too. It’s not huge but it’s more than enough to have starters, mains and desert and everything tasted great. What really struck us was how much attention to detail there was from the team that worked there. They were constantly cleaning around the food areas, taking away plates that were finished and replenishing food. We really enjoyed our time here. Price was really reasonable, especially for our 7 year old who definitely got his moneys worth! I read some reviews before we came and was a little hesitant but I’m glad we ignored them. If you come expecting fine dining you’ll be disappointed because that isn’t what it is! If you come expecting a great, tasty, good value buffet that’s tasty and fresh I can’t see why you wouldn’t be happy!

Booked a table for 6pm on a Monday, was greeted by mid/late teen boys and got seated almost straight away. Order was taken promptly and then told to help ourselves to the buffet. Going by previous reviews we weren't sure what to expect but the food was great! 90% chinese, with 3 options of pasta and a 'carvery' (mash, meat and veg) plenty miniature puddings and icecreams. Waiters made themselves visable but not getting in the way by constantly taking away used plates, cleaning around food stations and making lists to refill food. Only improvement i would say is boothes rather than tables and waiters to have dress shoes on, not dirty white trainers. Recommend going before 7.30 any other reviews i would say is them going closer to closing time which has annoyed the young lads wanting home and chefs not wanting to refill a whole buffet for 4 people.

I ate from this takeaway last year and I got severe food posion and I was nearly hospitalised with how bad the food was and now my my stomach is not fully healed and I will give this place a 1star for food and the service was 2 !

RUBBISH RUBBISH!! Tin veg, pork and powered mash potatoes only on carvery, limited choice of food, limited choice of meat eg: mostly chicken, stale apple pie, chocolate cake slices so thin you can see through it jelly not sweet and watery. NOT A NICE PLACE TO HAVE A MEAL !!!!!

Food was a disaster, total disappointment. Mojito tastes like bloody soap. Left after 10 minutes.

Disappointing. Looks nice outside and inside. However, the food is dreadful. It's pretty much your local chinese around the corner with the benefit of a buffet. Food is dry and tasteless. Mojito that costs £8.50 tastes like dish soap. Only people who haven't eaten anywhere nice will find this a decent place, for majority of you, do yourself a favour and avoid. Advertised as "world buffet" but is actually a pretty low quality Chinese buffet. If you like deep fried chicken you're well catered for as this makes up around half the choice in different variations. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not one is because the apple crumble was actually half decent!

The restaurant was nice and ideally located. The food was OK, just not as much of a" world" choice as other buffet places we've visited. We did see some not so good reviews, but thought we'd give this place a try. Probably wouldn't hurry back if we were in the area but wouldn't avoid either. The place was clean, the staff were friendly and food was replenished a few times in the time we spent here.

A great all you can eat buffet, plenty to choose from and all very tasty. The staff are very friendly and attentive and are always checking everything is topped up and fresh. Lovely clean, fresh looking, spacious dining area. For the fixed price you can't get better value.

This is probably one of the worst buffets we have ever been too. Not a huge choice and what they did have was unpleasant and cold. Desserts were mediocre at best. We will never be back.

We all really enjoyed this buffet, great selection of food with all allergens clearly displayed. Exceptional for the Gluten Free choices available. We feel it is excellent value.

I had a bad feeling about this place as soon as we walked through the door. It was very quiet, which is quite unusual for a buffet restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food though... was awful. Dry, underseasoned, with a very little choice. We have paid the full price but ended up leaving hungry. We haven't been asked even once wether everything was ok ( I suspect they knew how horrible the food was) no veggies, no fresh food, desserts were mainly ice cream and pots of jelly, some mini eclairs and profiteroles which looked super dry, as did The slices of cakes. Their crumble was ok, it was the only thing I have enjoyed😅 obviously, we won't be coming back- now that I know what it's like, I'd rather get sandwiches at Tesco😅

Whilst we enjoyed our meal, I do feel this really is mainly a Chinese based buffet, very little in other choices. Pretty much every plate we picked up was dirty. Staff were quick, and meal itself was enjoyable

Giving 3 starts to this restaurant mainly because of the price and food. I felt £20 was too expensive for the quality of the food. Drinks are not included in the £20 per adult and they are also expensive when bought separately. There was a good variety of food but for that price I expected more quality. Deserts were ok, they actually had apple crumble and custard but they weren't hot enough. The cheese cake didnt taste nice and I think it might've been going off a bit. I liked that the food wasn't as salty as other Chinese restaurants. Staff was nice and friendly. Location is good, easy to park around. Tables in the upper area were quite close to each other and at time it was difficult to get through between chairs/people. Small toilets for the size of the restaurant.

Literally no vegetables. Hardly any vegetarian food that was not beige. Far too much chicken. Lots of dishes empty and not refilled.

5pm the food the food seemed very fresh. The starters there is a very good variety of foods to choose from which was great. For mains it seemed like there wasn't very much variety which was a bit disappointing. As a few of us like to try different things. Service was really good & ask a few times if everything was OK & if we wanted more drinks. Would return just be nice to have a wider variety of foods.

Highly recommend this place, so much to choose from. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Staff always checking the food to make sure there is enough and fresh food is out. Great price for all you can eat. Can’t wait to go back with a group of friends.

My daughter had booked a table for 10 but when we arrived they seemed surprised snd no table was prepared… however they asked another family to move and sorted it out…. There was a good choice of food available, the starters being particularly popular with us…. Everyone really liked the two types of tasty ribs…. And there was something for everyone even our vegetarian granddaughter was happy… The desserts were varied and the profiteroles were particularly good…. They seemed to be replacing food promptly as it ran out… I was surprised by the bad previous comments as we didn’t encounter any problems once we had our table… we don’t usually go to a buffet but this one seems good….

The worst buffet I have ever had .The food overcooked and had been sitting a while dry and tasteless. Food not replenished alot of dishes empty. No customer service . The only food I could enjoy was the ice cream that was in a tub. I felt sick after eating here. Sent email to management but no reply avoid this place

This was possibly one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food was almost un-edible. It had been sitting out for a long time and was not being replenished. Everything was so overcooked it was tasteless, greasy and so salty. I felt physically sick afterwards for about 24hours. Will never return. There is nothing posisitve about this place!!!!!

We have just had a takeaway from this restaurant, the food was delicious freshly cooked and piping hot even though it was delivered. First time for us but definitely not our last would definitely recommend 10 out of 10

this place seemed great up until we were greeted with a waiter wearing tracksuit bottoms and a top too small for him and looked really sad. While that is not my problem surely he should fake a smile. While eating took my plate without even asking. He was blond and lanky watch out for him!!!

Horrible, dry and tasteless food. Overcharging for what you get! Charged extra for leaving small amounts food in plate! Very abusive owner and some of the staff( some were nice). Would definitely not recommend to anyone and will definitely stay away from this place!

Chinese food fabulous but should stick to just Chinese as rest wasn't great . Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced.

Food is not replenished regularly enough and left to go dry/chewy. Despite opening hours saying 10pm we were ushered out at about 9 when staff began removing food from hot plates and turning lights off. Expensive for what is is. Realize it was quiet but was charged full price and only really got about 45 minutes sat at a table. Drinks were ok but seems to be the norm in this part of the world. 5 star prices, 2 star quality.

Visited buffet with family recently and was not impressed by the appearance and quality of food on offer , the restaurant is large with plenty of space but the quality of food isn’t up to much and very tasteless to be fair . Didn’t think it was value for money either .

This was a great wee restaurant to dine in, staff were lovely and the food was really fresh and constantly topped up so nothing is every empty

Food was decent but there was a bug on a serving spoon which I'm glad I noticed. When brought to staff's attention they did apologise and changed the spoon but the bug had been dipped in as was covered in sauce and to me they should have changed the batch of chicken. It did spoil the meal for me

Great place for 1 or the family. Well priced and a great selection of food. As they are a busy place the food isn’t sitting for too long so it’s kept fresh. I was disappointed we couldn’t book a table and ensure we had a space as we were told on the phone it was only for tables 8 and over and there were only 6 of us.

Good selection of Anglo-world dishes, ie what many UK folk think of as Chinese, Indian, Italian food. It's inexpensive and a good place to eat with friends who may prefer one type of cuisine or another but who might not all like the same sorts of food. Staff were friendly and we had a good chat with one of the chefs. The Korean BBQ beef was both tender and very tasty - nothing like what we usually call BBQ sauce (it was much nicer than the strong sweet/sour stuff that often goes under that name). Some of the dishes suffered from having been kept warm a little too long on a quiet night but I think on a busy night this would not be the case. The sweet buns were something I'd not tried before and were very good. The chicken/sweetcorn soup was also very tasty. Plenty of choice for puddings including fresh fruit. Drinks were reasonably priced so all in all a good-value night out.

Arrived at 8.02 to be told the last sitting was at 8.00…. 2mins….shocking customer service!! To make it worse it looked like female waitress went out for a leisurely smoke right in front of us….

Pretty grim food really. Certainly not a world selection of food. Chicken tough, ribs overcooked, sauces weak in flavour and overall not worth the price. Deserts good except the tasteless ice cream, and the staff were great. Very helpful and attentive

The food in this Chinese is very poor quality and the sauces are pretty awful. All 9 of us were left feeling very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Ordered a takeaway that was an hour late, cold and tasted stale. My partner called to complain to management but was told that they were too busy to take the call Would not recommend for a delivery

After being quite sceptical over the 1 star reviews we were left pleasantly surprised by this buffet. Recommend to get there by atleast 6 ish and the food wont be replenished later on, good for less waste. The waiting staff were brilliant and quick to clear plates. Tasty food and hot

Love eating here - Food is good, staff service excellent- the lads and lady are constantly watching, keeping food topped up, clearing, cleaning and taking drinks orders - one of my favourite places to eat in aviemore! Well done guys, you work hard and we appreciate it!!

This got a 4 star because of the young server who has exceptional customer service skills. The food was stypical buffet fare-pretty good (some meat a buy tough and overcooked). It is worth a visit.

Para ser un buffet la comida estaba bastante bien, los cócteles muy bien hechos y el serbio, compuesto de jóvenes estudiantes, no podía ser más eficiente. No dudes en ir, toda una sorpresa.

We ate in Galaxy Last night. Could hardly believe that they allowed the immature staff to behave in such a childish / unprofessional manner ( Young Males / boys / kids !) . It was embarrassing to watch, more like a play barn for 4-5 yrs old. So unprofessional and there were no evidence of leadership or management of their poor behaviour. Sniggering away ‘ childish banter. I would be ashamed if this was my premises/ restaurant. The food was good & replenished very quickly , primarily because the place was so busy. Overall, the buffet was good value & tasty , yet we paid good money. It was cringeworthy, if you were familiar with the service industry/ trade. Serious staff training required. Poor upkeep, radiator pulled from wall just on the floor. Had dryer detached from wall. Sad thing is , has great potential , or they are busy enough to not have to care about how the restaurant comes across to the customers. Avoid , but great entertainment for the kids watching the young male staff.

What a disappointment. The temperature of most the food is verging on dangerously low and this obviously makes you think of potential food poisoning and it makes meat quite tough and chewy. The food was okay at best. Almost everything just didn’t taste as you would expect. Everything tastes extremely cheap and nasty. The only positive thing was that we went on a Saturday night and every other place in Aviemore was full, this was the only place we wouldn’t have had at least a 30 minute wait. I guess that this review might give you an idea as to why you could walk in here during peak Saturday service and get a table! Staff were okay, quite smiley young people. Many of the staff wearing tracksuit bottoms which is strange to see but fair enough. Wouldn’t go again and I urge you to wait for a seat in other Aviemore restaurants on busy evenings. On quieter evenings just go to another restaurant.

Stay away, they would not let us in at 19:55 saying their last entry was at 20:00. When spoken to the gentleman on the main till he said that their boss won’t allow anymore people. Restaurant was only 60% full.

Not a World Buffet but more of Chinese Buffet. Not the best of choices and sauces very watery. Not the cleanest around the food area and for the price I definitely won't be back. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss

We were greeted so warmly,despite having had trouble finding a place which could accommodate a wheelchair and a assistance dog.Nothing too much trouble,all staff so friendly,help without asking with the outside lift. Food so varied,hot and nothing felt left out too long like some buffet...

Aviemore and Chinese food do definitely not go. Both Chinese takeaways are awful. Perhaps spoilt for choice in Glasgow, however the food out this place isn’t actually edible and is tasteless. Please save your money. This green goop in picture is apparently curry sauce it’s disgusting.

Excellent service. All food delicious and plenty of it. We travelled up from Edinburgh and this certainly was a pleasant surprise! Unfortunately, there were several children present of which a certain percentage were opening and closing the food containers but worse, putting in their fingers to taste the goods.

I’d save your money and go elsewhere if you’re searching for somewhere to eat in Avimore. We spend £18.99 each on a “world buffet” which we all did not enjoy. Between chicken being cold and soggy, to dishes being completely tasteless or overly tough and chewy. The staff all looked like they couldn’t really be arsed being there and weren’t welcoming in the slightest. Pretty sure half of the desert options weren’t there as I could see a whole counter not in use with different equipment empty. Two out of five of us became really unwell the next day and we can only put it down to eating here. “World buffet” yet only really had Indian and Chinese options with one or two other “European” dishes that looked just as bad as the rest on display. Don’t get me wrong, lovely looking facility. Really disappointed and we were all very reluctant to pay for the one dish we had each that we didn’t even finish.

Couldn't understand why all the dishes were variations of chicken until the waiter offered me the separate vegetarian menu and everything was good. Would have saved 5 minutes if it had been offered at the door.

I had high hopes given the choice of Chinese , Indian and British food as it describes . Macaroni and cheese was pathetic - the worst I’ve seen , couldn’t muster the courage to even try , satay sauce was chicken fat , tikka masala...

Went for a Chinese buffet at 7.20pm. Terrible food, cold tuff meat and NO Duck! If you are paying £19 a go you would expect some decent food. Korma and Chicken tikka massalla, turkey and mash was ok - but is that what you get at the Chinese? Astonished at the staff, polite enough - but at 7.50pm getting their own food. 8pm the 3 other people left. 8.20pm almost pushing us out the door. Don't bother. Awful.
