You should look after beter your customers, I'm a huge fan of gails, however this specific branch is a nightmare in terms of deliveroo. They don't manage what they have or not, I've orderer several times, and didn't receive everything, however still kept available in the system, they don't try call us to fix the mistake, just send without it. Is so frustrating when you have a short time to do your breakfast and you don't receive what you order spending more money with other order in another place. Just doing the review here, because I wish you could increase the range of other gails as I had before the golders green one, it was way better than this one. Otherwise you'll loose a regular customer. I hope you can manage better this branch. Update: it's been a while since they're cooking fresh instead to dont send the meals. Coffee isn't the same standard as gails, but it's a good improvement though.

Erin dealt with a faulty payment system a couple of weeks ago - no payments were going through but she dispensed free coffee and took orders over the app to keep the customer base happy. But Erin is gone now. And in her place is sour faced Khwaja and his colleagues who wouldn't smile if you paid them to. When I went in with a complimentary drinks coupon on the Gails app they dispensed a small size without asking and when asked for a plate on a busy day was just given cutlery. When there was water spilt on the furniture by the previous customer was handed tissues to wipe it myself. The service sucks.

My favourite Gail's...a home away from home. The staff are the loveliest you can find and the atmosphere is very happy and there is a big community who come every day for the great space and wonderful kind staff.

I had great assistance from.the staff on duty. I don't usually sign up , and Khawaja helped me to get a free drink today! See you all again soon

Coffee was good ,Selection of Cakes, Patiserie & Croissants was limited. Regular sandwiches were not available. Patrons prefer at Lunchtime they can be eaten quickly and suitable for a time limited snack also would like a larger selection of Cold drinks .

Extremely slow service for a Monday. Ordered eggs which took 15 minutes to come. I had to go inside to bring them to my dirty table outside as no one thought to bring them over to me. Not sure why I am paying table service. This place needs a manager urgently to avoid messy service.

Very busy since they are after all the best coffee place in London. Points to improve - spilled coffee can get your loyal customers dirty. Better to serve a clean one The new vegan sandwich- taste is a bit neutral.

Wanted to add that in July 2024 nothing has changed and still loving the coffee and vibe of Gails Temple Fortune Service is everything. Tommy the manager is always there with a smile and greeting, and his staff follow suit. Smoked Salmon very nice when decent portion remembered, coffee is one of the best and staff all very nice. Well done Tommy and team.

I want to thank the staff at Gail's for their kindness. I often visit Gails and today I ordered 2 coffees from a very nice smiling man called Zeko, and when it came to paying i realised i had forgotten my card holder, i felt awful, and instead of any nonsense this kind member of staff immediately said i can pay next time with a great big smile, he made my day. Also thanks to Stefano who made me a sizzling hot Cappuccino. AWESOME.

I’ve been a long term customer of Gail’s across multiple locations around London, it’s such a shame that the service in my local one is nothing short of disgraceful. I was served this morning by a lad with glasses whose attitude was stinking. Most of his hostile behaviour was aimed at us customers and the poor pastries seemed to take the rest, he had no problem slamming them down in front of us! Will not be returning, if I do it will be to the new one that’s opened outside of Golders Green station.

I paid for a latte with milk. The quality was way below standards for the price they charge. I asked for skimmed milk, the barista made my coffee with whole milk and did not even bother telling me until I confirmed in the end. The coffee milk was not even frothed properly and she rushed making the drink. I will never buy coffee from here again for that price.

Slow service. Almond croissants overcooked and coffee luke warm. Very expensive 16.80 for my latte my husbands espresso and 2 pastries. Watched the cook preparing food and would never come in there again. Sometimes wearing gloves but very often not. Wiping her hands on well used apron touching her face and her cap. Didn't wash hands after using sesame seeds could be big problem for anyone with allergies. Didn't wipe down prep surface after different types of product.

We went in and waited over 15min without the queue moving to find out the card machine is not working and they do not accept cash (legal tender). The staff did not notify anyone waiting. We found out by approaching the till following the long wait.

I worked at this branch for a few months. The (at the time) Assistant Bakery Manager was rude to all staff and made it a misery to work there. I understand she's now become the General Manager of the "bakery". I'd recommend avoiding this particular branch as the woman who's taken control over it does not care about customer experience, and she cultivates a culture of negativity for the team who work there (when I was there, my teammates were scared to speak out about her abusive and unkind behaviour). My priority is and will always be customers and their experience, but her priority is furthering her own career with complete disregard for customers and teammates alike. It's a real shame as GAIL's are supposedly community-minded as well as being a great place to work.

I’m a regular at many Gails stores and this store always have the rudest staff for some reason. It’s a small store and is often cramped with barely enough seats. Went in today and was served by the man with glasses, no greetings no thankyou, and charged me with dine-in price even though it was for takeout. Won’t be coming back here.

December the 3th time 4:30.. disappointed sad experience Gail’s was my happy place Today I went there 2 Girls were there I was waiting for 5 min while there was no one there. Service below average compared to nearby highgate Gail's. They need more staff to serve the long queues however they seem to be comfortable to let people waiting instead of being served.

I went there for a job interview but instead of taking the interview they made me work for 2 hours straight on a Friday and it was busy as hell. Today I got a reply from them after 3 days and u guessed it it was a rejection worst experience.

Our architecture studio DOR Architects is just 2minutes away and I only regret not visiting earlier. It is a fantastic cafe/bakery with delicious food and drinks, very nice staff, beautiful Architectural and Interior design. Gail's Temple Fortune has really become a local community centre. Keep up the great work!

Hi, There’s a new young barista boy, who doesn’t know how to make coffee at all. Everytime he making the coffees for us, he burns the milk. Even if it’s a latte or a mocha. On top of everything he gives the cup like poured coffee everywhere on it. This is very disappointing, because I always thought Gail’s is a fancy place and I love their coffee. Now We don’t even go in if we see he is doing the coffees.

Nice pastries, hot drinks and bread. Friendly staff. Most products are a little pricey imo.

Great bakery, and delicious food. The bread reminds me of the taste of my mother's bread. Really recommendable. I would also like to mention the staff I met today, especially Justyna, who is very polite, smiling and helpful in choosing a product. Great food and staff!

Gails is my go to for coffee around London as i travel around most days, first stop is Temple Fortune to see Tommy and the team!! they are always full of spirit. Gails is more of a franchise vibe and each Gails is little diffrent with every store having its personal local vide. Its not starbuck same service, same smile, same ol same old, Gails has character and with that comes personalities some good some diffrent but its local and its character..

Very bad attitude and service especially by the barista Angelica who was rude to my parents and I. Not only did she leave our coffees out to get cold, she served us this version of latte which was vastly different to other ones she made. The coffee was lumpy even though she agreed to remake another one and full of sediments. One cannot help but wonder if this was intentional. Will be feeding this back to the manager in charge. Shame on you Gail’s for hiring such poorly trained staff.

I was there yesterday morning. Very delicious coffee and pastries. They even make quick sandwich for me (with salmon mini one) it was kind. Tall guy and short girl with black hair and glasses are really nice. I’m gonna back there more often.

Ridiculous customer service!!I have purchased to desert which I did one day before which i know the price!! they charge me extra ( they don't even know how much it is. They self ) I have complained got refund! then asked for latte (drink in ) they charge me extra again, but they put in takeaway cup and the reason was they said they don't have no cups. This is such a bad customer service and no one knows anything here, and you supposed to be Gail's ridiculous!!! I rather go and have my coffee next door Costa. At least they treat their customers friendly and nicely.

Best coffee and blueberry muffin ever

Bit of a queue on entering, but hey it was Friday and late morning! Gorgeous scrummy selection of filled beigels and sandwiches in the counter to tempt you while you wait to be served. Loads of staff busily looking after the diners and shoppers. Beautiful artisan bread ranging from traditional French baguettes to seeded sourdough boules. Great servers and the coffee and cakes and savouries are heavenly. For a chain of 90 odd shops Gail's really do a fantastic job with their selection of high quality bread and cakes. And the interiors are all different and quaint. And, Gail's welcomes dogs. How woofingly slobberingly drooly is that!

Really? They are understaffed. Over popular and for what? They get everything wrong. The wait for a morning coffee is so interminable that you are ready for a lunch time glass of wine by the time it arrives. The California sour dough is excellent

I absolutely hate giving 1 start to places. I don't think I've ever done it before! However the customer experience was really awful. The barista served on the counter was a really short temper. I have asked him to give me fresh pastry which was on the side cooling down. He insists I will have to receive the one from the. I have asked politely once again and received a sour face and refused again. I have asked for the third time and rudely he said I will ask my manager. The manager said to him: Of course you can serve the customer from the tray on the table outside the baking oven and looked surprised as if he didn't understand why he said no from the first place. The coffee was extremely boiling into a point where you get burned. Extremely unprofessional. I would expect more from GAIL's. To train their staff with customer service and coffee making. Highly disappointing experience.

7 us for dinner. Nice atmosphere. Prompt service. Starters arrived promptly. Nain’s as well. Four of us had steak. Ordered from rare to medium rare to medium. Absolutely perfect. Sides were tasty. A bad choice on our part for some breakfast items. The baked eggs bowl with sourdough soldiers verged on being inedible and it came with a cold espresso.

My oat flat white was a hot super bubble drink. I felt that I’m having an Italian cappuccino 25 years ago.

Great bakery with variety of sweet and savoury options. Shared the cheese & chive scone, a goats cheese quiche and a soufflé egg, cheddar and spinach slider. The café has a pleasant interior and it was self-service. The food we had was really lovely and reasonably priced. The 3 stars is due to the mix up in our hot chocolate order (got given a mocha instead) and we were not given any cutlery with our food - had to ask for this and was given a plastic set even though we were sitting in which isn’t very environmentally friendly. The toilet was also not up to standard in terms of cleanliness at the time of visit and perhaps needs to be tended to more regularly during opening hours

Great food and service. Good variety of pastries, bread and I love their soya and oat hot chocolate. They use good quality ingredients and they're very clean as I can see them making pastries and stuff which is always a good sign. I also like how they cover their food with a plastic container. I don't like stores that have food on display with out any cover. It's not hygienic. I'm a regular and visit host about every day so I've accumulated a few loyalty stamps on my card. You get them for bred and hot drinks I also visit Gales in Hampstead and various places in London. They're doing well and have many stores. My only complaint is they don't do organic and there are other similar stores like Le Pain Quotidien that do but they lack the variety that Gales provides. If Gales did organic I would give them 5 stars. Also, coconut milk option would be good but not as important as being organic

My last review Complained about no protection for the food out in the front out in the front since then there's glass surrounding it so I am very happy and I'm sure the customers are and I'm sure the customers are too

Unfortunately, I had the driest croissant ever… I understand that bakery can go dry after a while and they don’t want to waist it but I can’t stand paying the original high price for a dry almond croissant, no way. I also ordered an oat chai latte that it is always sublime in any Gail’s you go, but it was quite disappointing in this one, didn’t taste quite much as a chai latte but as oat milk with something else (plus they “had” to serve it in a take away cup even though I was staying in). The service as well wasn’t very nice, barely looked at me and acted like he wasn’t tired of being there. Won’t be coming back.

Food is decelious, I actually witnessed a male staff spit in someone's soup and I heard him joke about it with his colleague. He thought I didn't realise. Poor choice of words and actions. I won't be eating there again. It is ashame because the bread and pastry is delicious there. The options of coffees and teas are good too even chilled drinks.

Absolutely delicious pastries and bread -- I cannot fault the quality of the food. The coffees are decent as well. Unfortunately, service is achingly slow, and the atmosphere is sub-par. The chairs are uncomfortable, the seating cramped. The Islington branch has a much nicer layout. In short, if you have time to wait for your order and you want food for takeaway I would strongly recommend. But if you're in a rush or want a nice place to sit, I'd go elsewhere.

Muffin was nice. My problem was with the flat white. Unfortunately I was handed an almost boiling cup of milk mixed with coffee. Why do people not know how to make one. The milk should be steamed at 60-70degrees which keeps the fat and protein in the milk giving it a sweeter taste. I wish places that try and sell a flat white for over £3 would just learn the basics and not allow just anybody to hash together their coffee. It’s disappointing to say the least

Rude and unprofessional staff. I want to say that you lost a frequent client. Yesterday I have purchased a pastry and a hot chocolate for take away. The hot chocolate cup was extremely hot, the guy who made it didn't even give cup sleeves. I burnt my fingers until I found a napkin so I can hold it. Plus they are not offering you napkins, you need to ask all the time. Regarding the pastry, after one bite I realised that there is a hair in it! So disgusting! I returned to the shop, and the girl that served me, looked at me after I showed her the hair in the pastry like I was the one cooking it! No sorry, no nothing! She offered me a new pastry from the same tray. How can I even accept another one from the same tray? I chose something else, something cheaper. She didn't even offer me the refund. I used to love this place, but after yesterday's experience.... NOT.

Still delicious food but this branch no longer does cooked breakfasts/lunch just porridge from last I saw last week. A shame but understandable given the small size.

Gails is famous for their sour dough. But if you try their croissant muffin you’ll want to come here again. So happy Gail’s is close to our house now !

Surprised to read negative views. The bread abs cakes are delicious and both meat sausage rolls and spinach/feta rolls so yummy. Everything is 1st class quality and I’d highly recommend fir either an eat in or to take away. Best of the bakers by far 😊👍

Flies sit and fly around the food but strangely the staff don't do anything about it! I think the food needs to be covered not only because of the flies but becauae everyone is extra cautious and sensitive with the ongoing COVID situation..

The menu is very limited, they now don't offer to warm anything for you, there is basically nothing substantial on the menu as a breakfast. Exposed food items at the counter is very unhygienic, especially during a pandemic. The cafe a few steps away is far better. Gail's in Temple has become pointless. I'll not be returning.

All staffs are very friendly and helpful, specially the store manager and another staff called Giammarco. Drinks are lovely and bread and pastries are so fresh and delicious. Thank you .

Love the staff there, staff there are great always!!!always so nice to me. But the customers who push in front of you and think your invisible, are rude people!!!. And gails staff should be given the go ahead to tell customers who behave like this, that sort of behaviour is not acceptable because everyone who walks in and queues is a paying customer!!!!

People across the counter are always friendly but yesterday we had a bald guy who was was not wearing a mask who just spoiled our experience. This person may have a medical condition (highly doubt it) but if he does- let him wear a batch saying so. We deserve businesses who care about our health. Outside of this obvious health concern - it seems he was too keen to serve the next customer as if we were not important enough. May be we don’t fit his idea of a Gail customer We love Gails bread but nobody wants to deal with such staff

Gail’s in Temple fortune management need to train the shop manager how to do customer service, he is so ignorant and not making you feel welcome in the shop, every time you go you get more disappointed but I just go as I like the product.

Great to get a coffee, and something tasty to eat

I am leaving locally I have little boy with whom I am coming every day. I love the atmosphere in the place the staff is really friendly professional. Food is amazing place very clean and really safe in current climate. The manager is fantastically managing the place creating warm and comfortable atmosphere he is great asset for the company. I would say that is plenty restaurants on the high street what makes Gail’s special is the great coffee and beautiful people who are working there.

I have been working in temple fortune for a year so I had the opportunity to visit Gail’s a few times. The staff here are incredibly rude, customers are equally rude and therefore there isn’t a nice atmosphere. Chairs are uncomfortable and dirty. Coffee tastes good but they fill the cup in half. Would not recommend this Gail’s branch

Great place in Temple Fortune. The oat milk cappuccino was really good. It’s very cosy inside and gives a warm feeling. The interior design is really nice. Service was also very nice. Definitely a good place to go for a coffee and food while in the neighbourhood. Can recommend this place.

Bad attitude when the manager isn’t in. A few people was stood outside when I arrived at 7:03. Staff ignored us when we knocked. When the girl opened the door she walked right past us without a greeting. When I ordered my coffee I enquired what time they open , without looking up he said now!

Nice attention and very quite and good coffee

Breakfast/Lunch becomes an important part of the day when you are intermittent fasting and I really loved this dish. Was so hungry I forgot to take a photo when it arrived 👍🥰😂

The first Gail's I've been to, which, initially, with its warmish decor & closeness of design, promises much. Overall, nice coffee & yummy fare, but, service-wise, a bit of a let-down. Staff were not at all familiar with the food / cakes on offer, and, frankly, my initial attempts at ordering gluten-free were, uh, a challenge, to put it lightly. Sad, as it marred the overall experience, esp. with something as basic as knowing your product. More training needed, clearly. But, as mentioned, food & coffee were good, so, not a total disaster. A nice place to chill & chat.

I was a regular at this place but will not be rushing to go back again, it is just so variable. Often unclean, today the tables were piled up with crockery and rubbish. The queue was long and not moving fast. My drink was brought over in a disposable cup without anyone asking me whether it was okay. To me the whole point of sitting in was so I don't use a disposable cup so it wasn't (because I actually care about the environment, just because something is compostable does not make it eco-friendly, resources still went into making it). It seems a shame that it gets like this, I notice that it seems to often be worse when the manager isn't around (who is actually always really nice and friendly unlike some of the other staff).
