1st visit to Gail's. Not impressed. Two pots of tea, 1 decaf. Sorry we don't do decaf! Ok the tea we had was like decaf anyway, so weak you could see thru it. We had to clear a table ourselves, no problem, but £7 for 2 teas? A big thumbs down 👎

Ridiculous that you have to join the queue (where everyone is queuing for coffees, pastries and sandwiches) to buy a takeaway item. Just told to go to back of queue which was out of door. Staff not particularly friendly

Really abysmal experience starting with uninterested staff despite trending only two other customers at the time. Cold quiche and sausages roll which apparently they had no means by which to heat up …in a “bakery”??? To cap it all asked for some mustard for the sausage roll and black pepper for quiche….guess what…”sorry we do not serve these accompaniments”! All for the princely sum of £24.95…..Gail’s clearly saw us coming as Harry Enfield would say. Never again.

I used to like Gail’s cafe but this one always seems so dirty I just can’t go anymore. The tables are always covered in dirty cups and plates and need wiping. The floor is covered in dropped food and crumbs and there are often flies on the food. It is expensive yet they don’t seem able to invest in enough staff to keep the cafe looking clean and presentable. The competition is Sevenoaks is fierce - the non chain cafes - Sopranos, Buntastic, Malabar and Dulcies are all excellent ( and spotlessly clean) there is also now a Pret and a Caffè Nero, on top of a Joe and Juice ( overpriced and chaotic) and a tired Costa. How do Gail’s think they will stay in business if they don’t significantly raise their game?

Why oh why are there always flies in and around the food??? Most other places like Gails have systems to keep away flies yet today I saw several flies all over the food crawling inside the parmesan chicken rolls and other foods. Surely the manager and staff know that flies vomit onto food then suck it up.... and flies also land and do the same on faeces... yet they do nothing to stop it. This a health hazard is it not?? 'Flies can carry bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause food poisoning and transmit pathogens to humans' Gails senior management need to get a grip of this as eating food that has been vomited on by flies and then said flies deficate on is not I repeat not a good thing. This is the UK and not a third world country..... just yet.!

Been to many Gail’s before and this one was like most. A nice coffee with a lovely Almond Chocolate Pain au chocolate. The service was friendly and quick. Would have been better if the pastry was heated or the option was given. The menu didn’t have as much as some other Gail’s plenty of seating inside and a couple outside. Also conveniently located right next to the car park.

Over priced mediocre coffee. Not busy but still dirty tables. Their loyalty app is very poor. I bought three coffees and got one loyalty star when I queried it they said it was one star per visit and not per drink like all the other coffee shops. They obviously don’t want return clients.

The best thing about this Gail’s is that it fills the gap left by Cafe Nero which was offered a communal place for people to get together over a coffee is a large spacious area. Unfortunately, almost everything else is a let down, other than cinnamon buns and sliders. Coffee is just ok, food is generally overpriced, sausage roll recipe needs to be looked at - twice had it and both times there was a layer of congealed fat under wet pastry! Staff also need to be friendlier, seems like a conveyor belt, and they need to clean the tables more frequently.

3rd visit to Gail’s in Sevenoaks and each time they’ve (apparently) had no proper cups, only offering a take away cup instead. Yesterday the air conditioning was set to ‘baltic’ too. So nearly £4 to sit in the cold with coffee in a cardboard cup….oh, and the staff are miserable too. Won’t be back

This is the first time we have been to Gail's bakery, never again. We had to wait ages to get served, when we did the girl got our coffees wrong, instead of Skinny Flat Whites we got 2 latte's , so requested that they get changed to what we ordered and paid for. Flat Whites are supposed to be what the name implies FLAT WHITE, not with an inch of froth on the top. These people are supposed to be Barista trained, obviously not in this case. The table and floors were filthy, table not cleared away, we had to clear the table ourselves. The only up side was that the pastries were nice and fresh, but as I like to enjoy a good coffee, this is not that place to go.

I came across this establishment whilst taking my children to the cinema. As I approached the sandwich shop there was a couple of women sitting at a table outside smoking. I didn't take any notice of them until I entered the sandwich bar to be followed in by the same women. It turned out that they were the actual staff. I placed my order with one of them and she then made my sandwich without washing her hands first. They were both also heavily engaged in a conversation about some poor soul with one of the ladies using disgusting foul language. The shop itself was in a very poor condition and generally very grubby with hardly any ingredients. The food on show in the fridge counter looked stale and dry and the condiments on show had a skin film over them and were clearly out of date. There were no social distancing measures in place. In any other similar situation I would have cancelled my order and walked out but I didn't want to risk a confrontation with these women. By their actions and language it wouldn't have been pleasant. I paid, left and threw the sandwich away. The establishment should be closed down. Truly shocking !

Pleasant place to relax in the middle of Sevenoaks. Went mid afternoon and perhaps they could have done with more staff. However the chap who served me was very polite and upbeat. Would go back.
