We had a lovely time at Gail’s, we sat in the back corner which felt cosy and private. The iced caramel latte was very nice.

Went with a colleague for a quick meeting over a drink and small pastry. We had a ham and cheese croissant each and two small drinks from the fridge. No prices anywhere, but it cost nearly £23. I have no idea what those prices were, but they seem made up. Should have got a receipt, but it wasn't offered and I was busy trying to have the meeting. Saw my bank statement and realised I've been ripped off.

I ordered a sausage roll and a coffee to eat in, and both were cold. I asked that the sausage roll be heated which was refused. Would have been so much nicer heated, especially on a cold and rainy January day. They don't heat anything up so it simply wasn't good enough for the 12 pounds spent.

My family and I popped in for late lunch after visiting the Design Museum. It was around three in the afternoon. We were told that food could not be heated up in the microwave, so ate it cold. The selection of food on offer was carb heavy. There were few healthy options, although the food we ate was tasty. The tea was very good. The restaurant needed a general tidy up, the floor was particularly messy. There was no soap in the dispenser in the loo, great for passing on bugs. The service was just ok. We ate in the basement..the air con was very good.

Mixed impression - the tea and scones were really tops, but it was difficult to convey some information when ordering and we got only one tea instead of the two ordered (also, only one serving of jam and cream for three scones!). To the credit of the staff, this was made up generously since the missing tea was 'on the house'. Another issue, the adoption of cashless payments which discriminates against people without credit cards and tacks on service and exchange charges for clients with foreign cards. I know Gail's is just following policy that other retailers have adopted, but still, it is wrong and many people resent this.

Was at Gail’s today 15 Jan at 10am. Long queues formed to the street and only one person, a bearded gentleman, manning service and the till. The second person, a tall gentleman with short hair, oblivious to at all busy with himself and taking his time arranging the display croissants and moving bread around with no clear purpose. Customers all looking at each other in disbelief. As good as the actual product is, severely let down by poor attitude of specific staff. If owners Bain Capital want to make money with this investment, I’d weed out underperformers at the front line or at least give them proper training around what drives customer satisfaction and revenue.

I visited Gail’s for a quick coffee and snack before going into the Design Museum next door. There was so much choice and I found it hard to choose. I decided on a cinnamon bun and I’m so glad I did. It was wonderful. The coffee was also very nice. I live in Manchester and we don’t have Gail’s there. I’ve seen them around London before but just never been. I will definitely visit again! The staff seemed friendly but they were so busy. All the tables seemed occupied.

Staff doing bare minimum, barely bothered to serve you. Everything in paper cups even when using outside tables. No plates. Had to come in to ask what they were doing with my coffee as they just made it and heft it behind the counter going cold. They seemed annoyed that I’d come back in to ask where it was. ‘You have to wait’ (I had) said the guy. I was the only one in there to make a coffee fir. Waste of time. Coffee average, cheese straw stale, service rubbish.

Looking for breakfast and at first the external appeal is good. However the service was underwhelming, not rude but lacking any enthusiasm or even a smile. Croissants were lacking freshness and scrambled eggs were served on thick slice of bread - ok if you like that style but too much bread for personal tastes. Lady tidying up afterwards had smile and bit of energy (Gail perhaps?) but by that stage the impression had been set.

I did not expect to be upset by visiting Daisy Green restaurant in Holland Park. I went to investigate the new restaurant with a view to using it regularly if it turns out to be as good as it sounds. Ordered my take away coffee, and was offered a card machine to pay. It turns out, you only take cards. I was furious. You won't take my money ????? I had about £200 with me. So there are 3 million people in the UK who don't have bank accounts, let alone credit cards. This is for many many reasons. Some of which is that they are vulnerable or have had financial difficulties. They are not pariahs , but according to you they are. So you are an exclusive establishment. You only serve those who suit you ? Then there is the fact that you are encouraging banks and credit card companies to hold you , and therefore us to ransom. Once cash is not used in society, they decide how much to charge you for taking their card payments .... and who will ultimately pay ? US, the customer. You and other businesses are responsible for this . Trust me, once there is no choice you will HAVE to pay what they want. Many companies are now refusing Amex cards because of this exact reason. Do you not realise that once there is no cash in society , they will all work together ??? You won't take my money , my legal tender, the money I might give to my grandchild when they start to learn to go up to the counter with money to gain confidence and learn how it works, or maybe it's their pocket money ? oh but how can they spend their pocket money ....you have to get a 5 year old a bank account with a card for them to tap ? learn about change and what money they get back ? no need I suppose . So i will not be coming back, not to buy a take away OR use the restaurant. I have a company that helps and supports clients in the area. Well they are not going to be guided and referred  to you. One of whom had seven children up to 25 years old and lives very close by, I will explain my thoughts to them. I did not expect to come to the park and was upset this morning. Not something I will forget. My thoughts will be shared on Google ( I am told by them that my reviews have reached tens of thousands of people , though i find that hard to believe). Ive just looked at your reviews and it looks like other people have had their own disappointments. There are FB groups encouraging people to boycott companies who don't take cash. I myself am a member of one of them and am obliged to share.  I will be writing to my MP and giving your company as an example. In fact I may as well just cc him and perhaps the local council who i presume rent the property to you? Yikes on googling who owns it, Tripadvisor came up and there are also some negatives about your new establishment.  Perhaps you could rethink your policy Daisy Green and consider reading some of the other reviews. It doesn't look like it will take too much for you to improve your reviews. The Holland Park Cafe is important to SO many people , it is a precious resource. You are letting us all down, being a part of changing our society and how the banks control us .

I went there for a coffee and wanted to use the toilet first and there was a rude lady who shouted where I was going. I said I wanted to use the toilet first and she shouted that it was for private use and when I asked where was the toilet for customers she pointed outside and said the public toilets in the street. It’s disgusting in this day and age for an establishment who serves food not to have rest rooms for customers to use. It should open its toilet to customers or close.

Elegimos nuestro desayuno solo para que no nos dijeran nada excepto paninis. No por favor o gracias. Olvidé el batido de mis hijos y luego me molestó que lo pidiera. Me arrebató el dinero de la mano. We are here in London from the United States and so happy we found Brown & Rosie in Nottingham! We spent three weeks traveling around England… Brown & Rosie is at the top of our list of favorite places. We had dinner twice and breakfast once. Hamburgers were awesome. My French toast topped with fruit and ice cream was delicious! Not sure when we will back to London but we will never visit London again without stopping in at Brown & Rosie! Thanks so much from an American Tourist!
