G41 BAR in Glasgow City

Brilliant bar, fantastic bar staff, lovely atmosphere - fully recommend!!

Played the open mic night for the first time in G41 Bar. Had a superb night, great crowd of musicians and the people were most welcoming. If you're looking for a bar to go to and listen to some varied live music on a Sunday evening then give it a go.Will definitely be going back to play,Many thanks to Jay and Elizabeth for running the night,see yous soon, Sammy

Went here with friends for a drink and it was absolutely amazing. The cocktails are just Soo nice, bar staff are really friendly and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to go somewhere for their first few drinks it closes at midnight. But such a lovely place and they have live music as well.

Came in last minute with 6 pals, ordered a big cheese board, charcuterie board and some olives (olives not pictured). It was so wonderfully presented and there was so much to eat. The cheese and meat was fresh and awesome. Wonderfully surprised. Also doesn’t hurt that warren capaldi was singing. Pretty bloody good.

This place needs more loving than it gets. Great service. The place is kitted out like a mini version of a city centre night club. Food and cocktail menus is great. See attached pictures. The owners have put a lot of live into this place. They have a cool little stage in the the rear sitting area, I thought I was back in NYC for a few moments. Get in and try rhe place. Support your local business.

Nice place. Good selection of music on Saturday night (Good Dj), but it was just a wee bit too loud whilst trying to talk at the table with friends. Otherwise, staff were lovely. Place is clean. Did not had food this time round, but we might try next time. Yous need to work on these next things: There was a lack of some of the items from the menu: Nae Strawberries for Daiquiris, Nae Recorderlig, or similar, also: No Mocktails or a wider selection of non-alcoholic beers (only Heineken, not bad, but I am sure that yous can do better, i.e.: Corona Cero, Recorderlig zero, etc.) We were a big group with big needs 😂. Only had a couple of drinks. Was served by a dour faceed waitress who poured a half measure into the glass as she wasn't looking at what she was doing. The band had the longest sound-check ever. However, when the band eventually started, they were very good and they created a party atmosphere.

Burgers and drinks down stairs in G41. Booked table up stairs in the three monkeys. Out of this world. Great cocktails and great service. Will definitely come again

Fantastic place to go for a few drinks! Nice classy bar in the Southside, something we’ve been missing for a while! Owners have great chat. Special kudos to the Monday pub quiz! Always a lot of fun for the family!

This is my favourite pub in the southside!! So welcoming, Alfie , the barman is the best at drinks and the overall atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed! Highly recommend!!

Brilliant new local bar and restaurant in the Southside, is like a breath of fresh air, that Shawlands had needed for a long time. The interior has been improved and looks great. The bar staff are so friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. I have been in on several occasions with friends for a drink after work. I even invited friends to spend Hogmanay there and everyone had a great night. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little tapas bar. The food was good, the owner was really friendly, and the space is warm and welcoming. They have a festive cocktail menu that I'm really keen to go back and try - they all have chocolate in them!

They are trying, but you can tell they haven't figured it out yet. La Mediterranea cafe is very hit & miss. No-one seems to care about the customers, long waits, food is OK (bit dear, nothing special), weird selection of produce, keep moving tables, chairs, & even fridges about. Everyone feels in the way, caught a few customers' eye-rolls. Unnecessary excuses & tall tales. No focus. Maybe they will read this & the penny will drop. Otherwise this is another empty Shawlands shop in 8 months' time. Life's too short & there are too many other places in Shawlands to keep giving it chances. The truth may hurt. So sorry about that! Also - wear a mask! EDIT (Sep 2022): Shortly after the response from the owner (below), they did indeed close down. They didn't last long. Perhaps it will return to being another estate agents? It's been vacant for months. I note that the Google Review name has changed from La Mediterranea cafe to G41 Bar - which is on the other side of the front (aka Kilmarnock Rd) so it must be the same folks trying a pub after the cafe failed. We were lured into G41 as they promised Sunday afternoon Jazz. It's expensive. The food was meh, the jazz failed to appear. It was quite noisy - babies crying, the bar staff crashing glasses and metal stuff, lots of TVs showing random sport (skateboarding, snowboarding). Sad about the jazz because that would have made up for it all. Oh well. I can only wish them better luck and hope they figure it out.

I have been twice now and it's a great atmosphere, good band and very tasty good food. Also the staff are friendly and professional and do a fantastic job. Thankyou, you made my stay in Glasgow even more special.

I'd seen the place mentioned on Facebook so popped in for a couple of drinks on a random Thursday afternoon. I will most definitely be back - great drinks selection if you're just in for that (10 beers/lagers etc on tap, circa 20 gins, same for whiskies plus loads of other spirits Looks like they've got a decent selection of wines and fizz as well. The place itself looks great and the staff are lovely. Can't comment on the food, but it looked and smelled great as it passed and I'll definitely be back to try it. You can tell a lot of effort went into this place to open it, and it definitely continues now it's open. Five stars from me.

Came across this place while looking for a toilet out and about with my wee boy and they let me use the toilet first without even asking if I was going to buy anything! Toilet was clean had baby changing facilities which was exactly what I needed. And then decided to get a coffee and I clocked the cakes. OMG the cakes and pastries 🤤 I tried the pistachio and dark chocolate pastry pie and it was absolutely delicious 😍 also gave me a chance to sit down outside and feed my son as it was a starting to get busy and my son was a bit fussy and needed his milk. Staff were lovely aswell couldn't have been any nicer to me the coffee was great aswell I definitely found a gem and be back with friends next time I'm in the area to try the food and of course more cakes❤️ thanks again for helping a mama out 👏🏽

I've been here for lunch and coffee/cake before and really rated it but visited for dinner for the first time last night. The evening menu has a good selection of pasta, pizza and antipasti. The food was fresh and delicious with very generous portions. The tarts and cheesecake were both fresh and indulgent and their tirimasu is to die for! The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help you. Make sure to book if you want to visit on a Friday/ Saturday evening as they don't open if there are no bookings.

Tried this place for the first time on friends' recommendations... Had a very good experience. The starters and desserts are lovely and the coffee is nice. Jamie knows his flavours and ingredients and it's great to see fresh ingredients used to make wonderful food. You can tell that attention has been given to every detail and ingredient. The staff are really nice and welcoming. Overall, a very good dining experience and would love to go back, especially for the desserts ;)

Nice local family-run environment. Friendly service. It wasn't particularly busy but food still took quite a while to get served, but they indeed were freshly made and yum. Would recommend - as long as you got the time.

Had lovely coffee today. Guy was dead Helpful. Took home an individual lemon meringue pie..OMG!! Delicious!!!

Another sublime lunch at this beautiful little deli. The problem is deciding what to have! Everything is so fresh and beautifully presented. The coffee and cakes are amazing. Jamie and his team do all they can to make your visit special. Will be back soon!

Great find in shawlands, Bruschetta followed by their strawberry tarts couldn’t have hit the spot better. Excellent value and couldn’t be more impressed with help the staff gave my wife.

Awesome Mediterranean- style cafe! Fresh bread, fresh ingredients and really tasty- relished everything. Coffee was excellent too. Don’t forget to try the olive oil and orange cake and the dark chocolate and pistachio tart- very tasty.

I had bruschetta and it was very fresh and tasty followed by a delicious strawberry tart. Very friendly helpful staff. Coffee was excellent. Definitely be back.

Very disappointed service was exceptionally slow and food was very poorly presented concerned that the waiter had his face masks below his chin and the other man serving never wore a mask at all

I've eaten here twice and have to say it's one of the best cafés in Shawlands right now. Brilliant coffee, great food a lovely staff.

Jamie (the owner) and Callum (front of house) could not have been more welcoming. Service was excellent. Jamie and Callum are both very helpful when choosing a dish or buying from their fridge counter. My friends and I could not leave without buying some gorgeous tomatoes and sauces. They have a brilliant selection of Italian (mainly) produce and the bread looks delicious too with quite a variety to choose from. I managed to stop myself from buying loads of bread! It wasn’t easy, let me tell you! Jamie makes all of the beautiful tarts, we all had the white chocolate with raspberry, oh my! It was delicious and looked so perfect. The three of us had a brilliant experience and will definitely be going back and when I am cooking an Italian dish, I’m going to buy from La Mediterranea... Jamie gave me a wee recipe today before we left and some fresh basil too, I know what we are eating tonight! Callum and Jamie thank you so much for your amazing hospitality. We thoroughly recommend you give La Mediterranea a wee go, you will not be disappointed.
