One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. Our second visit. Excellent service and food. Very friendly and thoughtful. Sorry that this will be changing hands soon. Was looking forward to visiting again the next time we are in the area. Good luck to the family for the future.

Best Indian I’ve ever been to. The food is so good. So much flavour and everything is cooked perfectly. The garlic naan is amazing - soft and garlicky. We didn’t have to wait long for the food. The menu has lots of choices. Will be back.

We ordered a takeaway which was top notch, just what I expected from the home of Scotlands Curry Queen. Great service and very friendly staff. If you go you will enter as a customer and leave as a friend.

We thought we would try this Restaurant after seeing it had recently won awards. We had a friendly greeting by the owner & showed to a table. The food was very tasty & authentic and service was very good. We will definitely be back & will recommend to our friends. Well worth the trip from Tain 😁

This was our 2nd visit to Fyrish Tandoor, and yet again we weren't disappointed. Like our first visit we were greeted like old friends, a real family feel to the restaurant. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, and food was excellent once again. This is our go to whenever we are in the area, thanks again for a lovely meal.

Went to the Fyrish Tandoori with almost my entire family about an 1hr and half before closing time. They could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. The food was beautiful. Everyone was happy, even my 81yr old nan with dementia was singing its praises, and she is one of the least easily impressed people on the planet. I had one of the nicest pasandas I've had in 30years. I took every scrap I could home and I've just finished polishing it off. Thank you, Fyrish Tandoori, for such a wonderful experience! 5 Stars - no question

We have carry outs on a regular occassion...everything is made fresh from scratch..absolutely beautiful food.and its always 100% beautiful .its consistent unlike other places where you can have good food 1 night and its awful next time..winner of so many awards well deserved.well done neetu and family x

Quick service. Food however average and lacked flavour for me. But it was edible just not special.

We have visited this tandoori a few times over the last couple of years and received the same reception. The owner greets you on arrive and you are let to your table which always appears to be sticky for some reason? Once your order is taken, it is a hit or a miss when the food will arrive. If they are quiet then all good, but if the are averagely busy, you have a wait on your hands and if they are busy you have a long wait ahead of you! Once your order is placed your cutlery arrives and is dumped in a heap in front of you and when your bottle of wine arrives it is unopened and you have to pour it yourself. When your food arrives, it is good, but nothing special. When you try to attract staff’s attention to order further drinks or to pay for your meal, it is a real struggle and I have had to go to the till to pay for our meal on several occasions! Overall, this restaurant is good, but could do so much better with more attention to detail by the owner and staff.

I've had takeout here 3x and have always loved it! I look forward to dining here! Such great people, staff, cooks, you name it. Lots of gluten free options too! Such tasty food!

Visiting family so decided to stop in and get a takeaway after a long day dropping off presents, after reading previous positive reviews. Happy to say i wasn't disappointed and the reviews didnt lie. Nitu was pleasant and chatty and really made us feel welcome. Chicken pakora were succulent and surprisingly spicy (batter had a nice cheeky heat), the chicken Passanda was creamy and soft and the Lamb Parsi was fruity and had a lovely zingy freshness while the Lamb was perfectly cooked and fell apart beautifully. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good curry house in the North of Scotland.

Went here just on opening on a cold night. Thankfully sat next to heater as it was chilly, did heat up as more customers came in. Think if we went at 8 it would have been warmer. Staff were efficient. Menu typical of an Indian menu. Prices very reasonable. Food came out hot, lots of meat in the Currys, I had plain boiled rice and will say it's probably one of the best cooked rices I have eaten in a long time. Music on in background just at the right level. Seats were comfortable.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Easily the best restaurant in the four countries we've been to this holiday. Food was brilliant and real, and the owner is one of the nicest folk we've met in Scotland. No artificial colors, and using authentic ingredients. If you're looking for a fantastic meal to begin your night with, or wind down at the end of the day, Fyrish Tandoor is the way to go. Best food in Alness, hands down.

Found this wee gem and was delighted that we went , food was fantastic and the open genuinely friendly service was so refreshing, very few places give this kind of service, will definitely return, and just can't recommend this place enough My words do no justice ..... A very cozy restaurant with a homely feel and wide assortment of Indian cuisine. The service was exceptional, and the food quality was excellent. Large portions of food for the prices. It's definitely worth the visit for a dine in experience.

I’ve eaten in Indian restaurants though out Scotland and this is hands down the best Indian I’ve ever eaten. Only wish it was in my home town. You will not be disappointed by eating in or takeout 👍

I decided to take my Partner out for a meal for their Birthday as they love Indian Dishes. Rest assured you now have a new customer for life. Me and my Partner would definitely rate a full 100% for the best Indian in the Highlands.

Good things first, being an Indian I wouldn’t expect something extraordinary but food was okay. However, owner/ staff or whomsoever she was, was cold as hell on her behaviour specifically on our table for reasons best known to her. Would recommend this restaurant only if you don’t really care about biased vibes where you’re eating at.

The food was not good. Did ask the woman to make the food spicy which she agreed to but the food was not spicy at all and the aloo paratha was only half cooked. When we asked her for salt and condiments her attitude towards our table suddenly changed. If you can’t serve your customers nicely then don’t serve at all.

There were 5 of us in the group and we had not booked a table. This was no problem and the owner made us feel very welcome. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Most importantly the food was exceptional, we could see why the restaurant had won several awards

Ate here twice in the last week. The food and service were excellent great depths of flavour. The style of cooking is not your usual Indian cuisine, no artificial colouring. Looking forward to revisiting.

Beautiful place to eat, made to feel welcome immediately, place had a buzz about it and I can see why. Friendly staff, beautiful meal and very fairly priced. Highly recommend the North Indian curry with the garlic Nan, one of the best I’ve tasted. We will be back when we return to the area later in the year.

Have always had an excellent meal here. Must visit more often. Thanks for good and friendly service. Management has always accommodated us even when not booked. Booking is necessary at weekends as they tend to busier then (to avoid disappointment!!)

Absolutely loved the food, atmosphere and staff! Me and my family were stuffed! We couldn't even finish all our food ( We tried some side dishes and had a meat platter too). Neetu and her crew are absolutely welcoming and I would recommend her restaurant to anyone who wants to taste amazing good. The restaurant was packed! Well done!! Our place of choice for a celebration meal. It was my birthday and my choice for a meal. Fyrish Tandoor is always top of my list as we get treated like family. Meal and drinks served with good craic. It is like visiting with old friends. Neetu and staff always attentive.

If you fancy a seriously top class meal call in here ...food fantastic ...staff amazingly friendly especially to "out of towners" We stayed in the Alness area for a week and went twice here. The Onion bhaji's are to die for and the lamb in any meal is fantastic. On the 2nd visit had a garlic Naan ..... wow ! something so simple but tasted fantastic.

Bland food, terrible service and completely unprofessional. Went out for dinner and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with ‘are you the table that’s 10 minutes late??’ Announced to the whole restaurant as we’d barely come in the door. We could appreciate a off day with food but it really was flavourless as far as Indian food goes. We found the staff rude, uninviting and didn’t appreciate all the swearing going on. I wouldn’t return, waste your money or go back. The only positive I have is the speed of service but I’d imagine that’s down to it only having 2 tables in on a Friday night.

After eating many average overpriced meals in Scotland it was great to find this restaurant. Very friendly service and very tasty meals at extremely good prices. Enjoyed meeting the owner and wish them all the best.

A delightful family running this place! And the food is wonderful! Had a lamb Rogan Josh and keema naan; the lamb melted in the mouth and the bread was a delicious and fresh take. The service was outstanding and very chatty. Would give them 6 stars if I could.

Stopped by here a few months ago while we were in Alness. The staff are great and so friendly. The food is absolutely magic. I had the lamb Karai which was great. The lamb was so tender. My wife had the chicken korma. She is very sensitive to hot spicy food and this was absolutely perfect for her. The prices are very reasonable. The owner remembers us each time we go in and what we had before. She is also very helpful about different dishes. Wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks from the bar.

What a great little find, we are travelling through Scotland, stayed in Alness overnight. We were treated to one of the best curry’s we have had in a long time. Every dish was delicious and our kids were catered for with smaller portions and made a fuss of and were given complimentary ice creams. A lovely family restaurant for families can’t recommend enough.

Food was excellent and served quickly but they had run out of Cobra beer and only had Tennents lager which was a poor substitute. But would definitely visit again.

The green curry tasted almost the same as the aubergine dish: overcooked vegetables in a non-discriptive sauce. It wasn't good. Sorry.

Simply breath taking, wonderful experiance, would recommend. I went to speak to the lady who was front of house who just had everything going for her, very welcoming, extreemly funny great chat. I asked about vegan for my sister... not a problem.. i told her were from birmingham, she said "not a problem i back myself". All said with a smile but was confident. Boy was she right to be confident. Food was and i dont say this with any false sentiment was out standing. The flavour all through was stunning regardless if vegan, lamb rogan, chicken madras, chicken tikka, prawn dopiaza, north garlic chilli chicken, nan breads, rice and even chips. Not at all greasy, not smoothered in ghee...100% fresh tasting and looking food, chicken was pure white and fresh.... best of all the prawns were tasty, juicy fresh, de vained and clean which you dont see often. Birmingham, shush... shame this place is 14 hours away, magnificent curry. Thank you so much for your hospitality and friendly interactuon with all staff.

We went here on a midweek evening, as a family of four. We had starters, mains, nans, paratha, rice and all were delicious. The mains were very tasty, particularly the patia. It was a lovely evening, with a nice atmosphere and the owner, Nitu, took great care of us and spent time chatting with us at the end. All in all, a lovely night, and amazingly good food for such a small town. A real gem of a restaurant.

Called in when working up here before so decided to try again. We were not disappointed the nice lady owner was still here and she looked after us again. Food was excellent yet again. I recommend the Jaipur it had lovely flavours.

First visit - we had a delicious meal (burnt grren curry made with fresh ingrediants and juicy king prawns and a tandoori mixed grill) and lovely service from the owner. Will definately be going again.

Grear food at the fyrish went with a party of 9 for my daughters 30th didnt hear any complaints friendly greeting on arrival.maybe the young chap serving needs a bit of extra training but that didnt detract ftom the experirnce Excellent

What can I say? We’re new to the area and feel like we’ve struck gold finding this lovely home from home. The food is yum and fresh, the owner and staff make you feel very welcome (and you’re guaranteed a giggle) and we look forward to going every time. Can’t fault it 👍

Lovely host. The food was prepared quick enough for convenience but not so quick it would compromise on the freshness or quality of the food. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly. The flavours were fantastic, 2 x curries, 2 x pilau rice, 1 x naan, 1 x mixed pakora and several popadoms fed 2 adults an adult sized teenager and two smaller children comfortably. Now my favourite local indian. I would highly recommend.

The food here is so good as is the service. The lady who runs it is so friendly and enjoys what she is doing. This restaurant is such an asset to Alness, highly recommend it, always beautiful food.
